- I vowed that I wasn’t going to leave Florida without a POV of VelociCoaster, Incredible Hulk Coaster, and Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure. So this is part ONE of a THREE part series!!!

I’m a Florida resident and have ridden this a few times. I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned this but I was in line one time and an actual roller coaster engineer was behind us talking about how he worked on the ride. We started talking and one of the really cool high tech things about this roller coaster is actually the 10ish seconds before the first launch. The cart stops right at the launch and kind of shuffles back and forth a little right before the launch. The reason it does this is it actually is calculating the weight of the cart and is calibrating the track to launch at a certain speed so every launch is identical. Just a really cool detail that isn’t very well known.

Yeah that makes sense, I was thinking it's like king da ka and ttd in that sense, but it makes sense for weight calculation. Great ride, loved every second of it.
Not surprised, other than a single grainy video from when it was being test ran I've never seen a rollback on that high hat. They have this coaster down to the inch and it's without a doubt my current favorite in the world.

@@WheelinWeenie That’s a pre rendered cgi video, not a pov filmed in real life that represents the real experience of the ride. Its very hard to tell that its cgi, you have to really look at it to tell.

When I worked at Universal I used to ride this 5+ times a day and this is quite literally the best roller coaster I’ve been on in my life. Seriously amazing, Universal really outdid themselves with Velocicoaster & Hagrids. For people afraid of roller coasters, there’s no need to fear. Despite how it looks it’s more fun than crazy & you don’t get that weird feeling in your stomach even on that big drop. It’s 100/10, amazing coaster.

idk the fact that people say they feel like they’re gonna fly out of their seat scares me. I wish they’re was a harness instead of just a lap bar.
@@jonelledixon And trust me, safety is Universal’s #1 priority. I know some theme parks say that & it’s not true, but Universal is dead serious about that. Before opening the ride, we have leads come out to test it & we do test runs to make sure everything is working as expected. If one little thing is off or out of place, the ride will get shut down and will remain down until the coast is clear, even if it means being down the entire day.
So Velocicoaster will never give the go ahead to let people ride the ride if they were in danger of falling out. The lap bars keep you secure in the seat, but it doesn’t hold you in place. That’s why you feel like you’re shifting and coming up off the seat, but it’s never under any circumstances loose or enough wiggle room to fly out.
Before you get on the ride, workers will come & push down as far and comfortably for you as it will go, and they’ll pull on it to ensure it’s secure.
So yeah. I apologies for the rambling, but I used to get that feeling with rollercoasters & to this day I still struggle with it. But Velocicoaster is a seriously amazing ride, I’d hate for you to miss out on it because of that fear.

@@jonelledixon I just rode it yesterday and loved it but if anyone has a fear of flying out it's especially accentuated there. My butt nearly never touched the seat the entire time especially on that really tall drop and that little twist over the water right at the end lol
one of the most exhilarating rides ive ever been on. video footage does it not justice you sincerely feel like you are hauling through the air. the aerodynamics & engineering of this are phenomenal!!

The first time I rode this I was off an edible and it was the most intense rollercoaster I’ve ever been on😭 It was so fast and smooth and the 2nd launch I did not expect.. it was really fun tho!!

@@Dlwrma99 there’s only a virtual line for hagrids motorbike adventure and then everything is a psychical wait. I got there early so I only had to wait like 25 min lol
to those who are scared of riding this, don’t be. i’m personally not a rollercoaster fan so i understand. this one is incredibly thrilling. if you’re scared of the hill, don’t be you don’t get any stomach drop on it. the only thing you should be worried about is the heart line roll towards the end. you truly feel like you’re gonna fall out. it’s freaky as hell
AGREE. I was scared to death to ride this because I frequently black out on coasters due to G-Force. I did not get that during this coaster and it was so fun and smooth! I was so scared getting on though that I think my heart racing probably helped me not black out 😂

I was avoiding this because of the big hill and stomach drop. I keep hearing nothing but good things, but that one hill kept me off for months. I really want to try it.

I ridden this and the Hulk Coaster on the same day and I can confirm that Velocicoaster was way more intense than the Hulk Coaster, it made the Hulk seem like a Kidzone attraction.
Most intense maybe but more like most enjoyable and fun.

Love this ride! The back is so much more intense. That barrel roll is insane. I rode it twice in the last row and once in the middle. There is so much air time that it’s crazy you only have a lap bar.
Dude the back LEFT seat is the best seat on any coaster I've ever been on. You get ragdolled out of your seat with serious ejector and floater, and you legitimately feel like your head goes into the water on the mosasaurs roll. The front left and the front/back right are also incredible.

That one lady who was just scream/laughing the entire time was hysterical. She was having so much fun.

It's the same model (Intamin Blitz Coaster) as Maverick. But it's slower and less intense than Maverick, so ride it for the scenery, not for the launches.
@@bobbyc1120 huh? This is more intense than maverick to me by far. The top hat might be the only thing making it better for me, but it does. Also better inversions and "semi inversions"

This video can't come even close to what this ride feels like.. like no justice whatsoever. The air time on this coaster, the corkscrew over the water and the second take off. Just wow😳 Best coaster I've ever been on.. ever.

It's so unexpected too. Like, yes, you know that there's a second launch as a part of the ride but after the comparatively weak launch at the start and seeing the length of the launch once you turn into it, you expect it to be a gradual acceleration since there's so much time to get up to speed. HA nope. I hadn't watched a POV prior to riding it and that second launch surprised the shit out of me. So good.
I damn loved it, it's way crazier than The Hulk, very recommended if you love adrenaline and high altitudes.
My kids were afraid of Hulk so they decided to ride this as a softer alternative 🤣. One of them loved it, pretty sure the other will need therapy and medication.

Ive watched hundreds of roller coaster videos and this looks absolutely mind blowing. Roller coasters that stay low to the ground most of the ride with lots of turns and speed are the best. I need to ride this badly. Just from the video I can tell this would be in my top 10 favorite roller coasters. 😃😃
For real. I've been on loads of coasters, but this looks like they've taken everything you've seen before and made it more thrilling. The straight upside down section of track looks wild.

Yall its not that bad. Ppl are kind of over exaggerating when they say its the most insane coaster they went on. and the only gut feeling u get is the g force when taking off and a some in the beginning! you do not feel the drop in the slightest like at all it’s insane. Just the take off g force :)

Intamin has been doing absolutely incredible things with subtle track profiling lately. I have especially been looking at the shaping of three elements on Velocicoaster that look like they add a unique feeling to otherwise standard elements.
1. The immelman right at the beginning of the ride. From certain angles, the peak looks almost triangular. This kind of shape looks like it really gives a nice off-axis burst of ejector, right in the middle of a somewhat disorienting element. Add to that the near-miss rockwork and this looks like an intense element even if the train only enters it at 50 mph.
2. The high-speed stall following the top hat. After rolling left into the stall, there is a subtle slight roll in the opposite direction before continuing the roll into the helix section. This has to add to the snappiness or whippiness, especially when exiting the stall.
3. Do I even have to say it? The Mosasaurus roll. If you look at it end-on, it isn't circular in shape, but it appears to be egg-shaped and even slightly asymmetrical. This gives a little kick towards the water in the middle of that otherwise heartline roll.
These three elements are probably what I'm looking forward to the most. Well, and the second launch. And the tophat floater/ejector.
Well, the whole ride, I might as well say. But those three stand out to me for next-level track profiling, something I haven't heard anyone really discuss. I think it's the thing that some reviewers have even stated that they can't quite put their finger on, particularly when they mention that last roll.
I can't wait to get on this, and it has me pretty psyched for Pantheon, too. (The outer-banked hill after the top hat looks completely bonkers.) RMC may have changed the game, but Intamin looks like they have taken up the gauntlet and maybe even shown them a one-up.
Having ridden Velocicoaster, I can say a little about how these elements feel:
1. There is not really airtime at the top of the Immelmann, maybe a little hang time, but when you are sitting in the back there is crazy ejector coming out of it (and a headchopper with rocks), definitely a great way to start the ride. The dive loop is definitely better in the front row though as there is ejector going into it.
2. The stall is weird, you kind of dangle side to side a little from the transition into it.. this makes it feel even crazier though. It is so fast that there is not too much hangtime, however, but it was so good I didn’t mind.
3. The mosasaurus roll is just insane, basically upside down ejector airtime and laterals at the same time, probably my favorite inversion ever. It is super whippy and basically feels like the ride is trying to throw you into the lagoon.
Plus the ride feels so open because of the lap bar and also how your feet do not really touch the floor of the train.

I went on this last year, and I won’t lie, it’s way faster than it looks, and the adrenaline is strongly intense. If you’re a thrill seeker, then VelociCoaster is the perfect ride for you!!

i rode this a week and a half ago during my first visit to universal orlando and it has easily taken the spot of my number one roller coaster, its just so good
Go to Cedar Point in OH. Those coasters will blow you away and make this one feel childish.

this ride is a 1000/10. has everything you want in thrill ride. the restraints are secure, but not restricting.
This seems like it lasts longer than most coasters. It’s usually over in 40 seconds. I live in Orlando and The Hulk is kind of like this however, it’s much more updated in technology, faster speeds etc…..thanks for posting this! I hope you had a blast!

1:04 The only thing I have a downside to the coaster. It exposes the buildings of Hogwarts and every other ride in front making Islands of Adventure EXPOSED

Thank you for a non-shaky pov of this ride! They made me take my glasses off for the ride so I was blind as a bat, couldn't see any of the details they put into it at all, I didn't even know there were little velociraptors around the coaster D:

That’s weird they never made me take off my glasses for this ride. Also pro tip if your worried about loosing glasses, but you still wanna see everything. Just wear your mask on the ride and tie your glasses down to ear straps. My glasses fall off pretty easily and the this worked like a charm on all the rides at universal and Disney.

I've bought sport goggles for amusement parks and they're intended for sport related activities but it's my life hack for being able to see the rides and never worry about them falling off my head
This ride is INSANE!! One of the best coasters i have ever ridden. The whole time i kept thinking to myself "this restraint bar isnt enough" 😂. Fantastic

This is by far my most favourite ride! The drops, high speed launches and twists all done with nothing but a lap bar makes this one of the best, if not the best roller coaster out there! My forest experience.on it was incredible! That long stretch of track makes you think the rides going to slow down but it subverts all expectations and gets even faster followed by the biggest drop there! I hope we get more rides like this real soon!

Great coaster, but it would be more fun with a full shoulder harness. Felt like I was falling out of my seat most of the way. Didn't make it more exciting, just uncomfortable. The launches were awesome.
No it wouldn’t, if you don’t like it with a lap bar then you don’t like the entire appeal of coasters. Also, this would be very painful with a shoulder harness
This ride is so fast. The first time I rode it, I’d never heard anything or seen anything about the ride. I was terrified in the second speed up section before the big drop. But hands down definitely one of the most exciting roller coasters if not the most exciting roller coaster at Universal.
Rode this last week for the first time. There were about 4 or 5 times when I thought I was gonna fall out of the seat. It’s crazy that’s there is only a thigh bar holding you in!!
But I would definitely ride it again.

It was ok didn't care for the restraints doesn't feel safe. Also doesn't tell a story not much of a theme ride, more like a generic Rolla coaster.
Finally! A coaster that doesn't end too soon.
I am a Cologne resident from Germany. There is a very very similar coaster to this one (more like it's little brother) called Taron in my local amusement park called Phantasialand. I saw this ride randomly on youtube and I recognized this type of track-developement and the two launches immediately. Turns out, It is built by the same manufacturer called Intamin. Those guys, they know very fucking well what they are doing! They are from Switzerland as far as I know. As I have been on Taron many times, I want to be on this one so bad aswell. Taron is seriously one of the best rollercoasters in Europe. It has a bit more top speed even, but the track is mostly flat compared to this one.

This is such an amazing ride - especially for those of us that still love the thrills of high speed and crazy turns, but can't take the insane heights of many of the coasters these days.

Taron is kind of brother... Or better sayed the father of this coaster! In core the seats are from taron. The whole launch tech!! Without taron, velocy whould not exist.

We did our 1st Universal trip ever back in June, and this coaster alone made it worth it. So smooth and fun. The 2d launch up the tophat is the greatest coaster section ever engineered. Words do no justice.

@@triple7marc it’s not butter smooth as it does have a slight rattle. The ride lacks a strong sustained moment of airtime. Also I just haven’t laughed like I have on mako or twisted Timbers etc. that’s why I put those two rides ahead of it. Even those aren’t my fav. The best is lightning rod at Dollywood. It’s intense, butter smooth, has so much airtime and is just fun

The coaster is so damn smooth but yet still the most incredibly intense rollercoaster ive ever been on. The corkscrew over the water, I don't think anyone realizes until they ride, how the shits is literally throwing you up out of your seat towards the water and the only thing holding you in, is this lil lap bar and nothing else.
