I love how different Universal's naming conventions can be. Everyone remembers the name "VelociCoaster," but nearly everyone I know refers to Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure as the "Hagrid ride."
Some coasters have short breaks to give riders a chance to breathe from how intense it is- before launching towards more speed for the rest of the ride. Nope. Not this coaster.

Being a huge coaster junkie this definitely exceeded my expectations. When you get back to the station you are like wow. So fast. So fun. I didn’t like that 80% of the queue is uncovered outside. They did have some shade screens but standing in line outside in Florida wasn’t fun in the summer. I did like the new locker system. I wish other attractions thought of this. Makes so much more sense. Before you board you put your stuff in the lockers of the right in the queue, when you exit the ride your stuff is on the left side of the lockers Double door lockers. Best idea ever. One for entering one for exit.
Just ride this monster literally 4 hours ago, and wow, amazing, it was so fast it was hard to see the scenery but maybe after the 2nd or 3rd time I'll catch more stuff. The second acceleration was awesome.
I’m going to Florida in 2 weeks, and also going to Universal Studios. I haven’t had much experience going on the roller coasters outside cause of my fear of heights (in the process of getting rid of my fear of heights), but have experienced going on the ones inside, what would you say how this roller coaster would be for a first timer? I also already planned on getting on The Hulk anyway.
@@sierra_96 So I would say for a first timer this might be really really intense. It already is a very intense ride in itself, and the video honestly does not completely show how intense it is. It really feels like the ride is trying to throw you out of your seat, but you feel super secure. I would recommend riding in the front. I rode both the front and the back and I can confidently say that the front does not feel as bad as the back. If you ride in the back you're going to get lots of air time (butt lifting off the seat), but you don't get as much of that air time when sitting in the front (though you still get it). I would recommend warming up with the hulk first before getting on velocicoaster just so you don't have a shock at the speed. Definitely a very fun ride though! Also, i recommend for the spin over the water to hold onto your lap bar tightly if you don't want to feel like you're going to fall into the water. I held my hands up for that section and thought I was gonna die I'm not gonna lie. That part is the only part you will really feel yourself slip, but you're still really secure into your seat rest assured. They make sure those lapbars are super tight.

Velocicoaster only has lap bars too which adds to the intensity the amount of airtime you get is insane there’s 14 airtime moments where your butt is floating out of the seat and your stomach turns. I just rode it today a couple hours ago.
@@williamlayton1827 I also absolutely hate heights. I've never been on this one, but I can tell you launch coasters are exponentially better. Since you get sent up fast instead of climbing, you don't really have time to be afraid because you're already in motion. I'd recommend giving it a shot
I literally rode this last Tuesday and it was amazing!!! It was only about an hour wait. Its the kinda ride you want to ride over and over again non stop. The top hat might be scary at first, but you should put your hands up. The drop is terrific. Both launches and the inversions were incredible. I'm also glad there was a lap bar instead of shoulder restraints. This ride was so. good.
I was so scared for not having shoulder straps, especially because of the loop over the water. I'd peronally enjoy it more that way cuz I'm a chicken 😆 The air time is insane!
Holy crap! I'm not a fan of intense rollercoasters with steep drops and loops, and watching this only supported that. I can definitely see how it's fun though! Pretty thrilling, although I would 100% faint if I ever rode that.
just rode this today. pretty much met my expectations. highlights of the ride is the top hat airtime and the roll at the end. it’s a lot more intense in person than watching on video trust me. surprised universal went with a six flag/cedar fair level thrill. good move on universal. enough of the screen rides. lol. must recommend for sure! 👍
@@callmesoda seats were actually comfortable and i’m about 200 lbs. they do have a test seat in the front entrance to see if you fit. there’s no shoulder restraints no seat belt but only a lap bar.

I’ll have to say yet haven’t ridden iron gwazi i’ll put Velocicoaster as my fav coaster in Florida. like i said it’s thrill level is on par. even tho it doesn’t have the tallest hill or fastest speeds it doesn’t need to be. its just the experience and concept. i mean i’ve dreamed of a jurassic park themed coaster all of my life. and how they executed it was simply amazing. i’d recommend you to try it. must ride at IOA.

But Velocicoaster from what Im seeing on POVs is somewhere on a Top 15 IMO so Im planning to go to Cedar Point instead of Universal - Florida. God this ride is a masterpiece, my husband and I when we went it was an amazing experience, it was so intense we had to sit down after and get a drink before going to the rest of the park we LOVED this ride! Amazing job well done!

The part that makes me sad is that barrel roll at the end is the same type that got scrapped from the ride Maverick. I guess coaster design has finally advanced to the point of making an element like that safer
I was there for 3 days trying to get on this ride and every time it was down for maintenance service… I was there for multiple times during the day. needless to say this ride was a disappointment and sounds unreliable…. I wonder if it is safe to take my kids on with all the break downs it had…
@@boyscouts83712 Since the ride is new, they aren't allowing express to skip the line like other rides. The wait time was usually always at 70-90 minutes though, single rider was like 30-45min
Same!! When i went everyone was cheering for each other coming on/off the ride i loved it. And the last time was at night the ride hit so different at night it was even better
I've ridden almost every coaster an adult can fit comfortably on at the Islands of Adventure. Most multiple times. This monster is the first one to cause me legitimately fear for my life! Those moments of almost zero-g's left me bearhugging my restraints reflexively and I'm pretty sure I couldn't walk a straight line without help after I got off the thing! I was left not knowing if I loved the experience or if I never wanted to ride it again in my life!
This ride is the best one In Orlando and possible Florida !! It has everything you want from a rollercoaster and the drop in the middle of the ride is 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I'm 40 years old and my daughter is 12. We both rode the velocicoaster yesterday June 15th. Let me tell you. Its fucken awesome!!! We came from Texas and it was totally worth it. My wife and 8 year old son did not participate due to being young and high blood pressure. The ride is the best in Universal. We both loved it. You can't hold your breath. You have to scream. The experience was amazing. We are hoping to due it for the second time tomorrow Thursday June 17th.
I went on this around April for my birthday and I was stunned because when I went over the water upside down it was kinda to fast for my taste and especially all the twists up and down scared me so I had like a cold face while riding, not even a sound coming from me

I have to say that this roller coaster is my number 1 favorite ride in the world and im so proud they went beyond and above with this ride , it really shocked me when I first rode it , the thrills, twist, and drops were incredible and out of all the rides i rode , this one is a whole another level. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@SemiO11 lmao I am in line for hagrids I just got off velocicoaster. Velocicoaster is wayyyyy different than the video does Justice my arse was out of the seat the whole time. It’s very intense. I had the back row and got whipped over the top hat. The only thing holding you in is a lap bar so it feels like you’re gunna fall out the whole time but you won’t.
the scene at the first launch looks convincing enoungh to me that i think it is made using people in a velociraptor costume (using a real life dinosaur would be too dangerous)
Great ride, better then Cheetah Hunt, Maverick feel like top 5 in GTA. I rode most of the coasters in the top 50, this one is a top 5, actually surprised that it's in Universal, they don't do this. Intamin and Universal did a great job.
Pretty sure most if not all pov videos for this ride, besides for Universal’s official pov, are filmed with glasses that have a camera in them. They make you go through a metal detector so you don’t bring your phone, handheld cam, or any other loose items on.
Just rode this ride today, First ever upside down rollercoaster!! It’s definitely intense but not nearly as bad as i thought it was going to be. I was freaking out and the attendant asked me if i was sure i wanted to ride. lol. but if your scared of this ride just do it!! no regrets and not bad!!

It was fun but the Hulk was awesome if not better. It launches you right form the very start Into the peak instead of a slow climb like most coasters.

Ride breakdowns happen often at any safe theme park. It is completely safe.
This ride was, sick! It was worth the wait of not being allowed to use our express passes. Best ride in the park hands down!

Today for the regular queue, the Wait Time said 75 minutes but I only waited 35 minutes. It was like that pretty much most of the day.

I went on this around April for my birthday and I was stunned because when I went over the water upside down it was kinda to fast for my taste and especially all the twists up and down scared me so I had like a cold face while riding, not even a sound coming from me
Universal is better than Disney. Hands down. Been there 4 xs. Can't wait to go back again .

You got first row thanks to that passenger! I was shocked how fast you fastened your belt and the car begun to move! All in all I think it is just a "Real Good" ride as you said but nothing spectacular... but it is worth the trip for a family! thanks a lot

I have to say that this roller coaster is my number 1 favorite ride in the world and im so proud they went beyond and above with this ride , it really shocked me when I first rode it , the thrills, twist, and drops were incredible and out of all the rides i rode , this one is a whole another level. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

@@SemiO11 lmao I am in line for hagrids I just got off velocicoaster. Velocicoaster is wayyyyy different than the video does Justice my arse was out of the seat the whole time. It’s very intense. I had the back row and got whipped over the top hat. The only thing holding you in is a lap bar so it feels like you’re gunna fall out the whole time but you won’t.

Great ride, better then Cheetah Hunt, Maverick feel like top 5 in GTA. I rode most of the coasters in the top 50, this one is a top 5, actually surprised that it's in Universal, they don't do this. Intamin and Universal did a great job.

Pretty sure most if not all pov videos for this ride, besides for Universal’s official pov, are filmed with glasses that have a camera in them. They make you go through a metal detector so you don’t bring your phone, handheld cam, or any other loose items on.

Just rode this ride today, First ever upside down rollercoaster!! It’s definitely intense but not nearly as bad as i thought it was going to be. I was freaking out and the attendant asked me if i was sure i wanted to ride. lol. but if your scared of this ride just do it!! no regrets and not bad!!
