    Very cool to see a test ride around San Diego. I had my MV F4 serviced at GP recently and was checking gout the XDiavel on the showroom floor. It's a big improvement over the Diavel. But I want to see how it is with the mid-mount pegs that are supposed to become available.

      Ohh cool! I miss my old F4. What a bike!
      I don't miss the Turismo Veloce though. Hahaha!
      I'd love to try out the mid-mounted pegs also. That is the one thing I didn't really like about the new X-Diavel.

    The suspension on the S I test rode was cushy, even when jumping speed bumps and going over other cracks or lumps in the road. The forward controls make a big difference in rider comfort. They felt good to me when set fully rearward. Fully forward was just awkward, but might be good for tall riders.
    Might sell my Diavel for an XDiavel S in a few years if they do a version that comes with bags and other goodies. I'll be itching to trade if they do a carbon version.

    @Slayer-Knight 6 років тому

    Boris, I hope you read this comment, would help me a lot.
    You mentioned at 5:24 about going at "cruising speed without the throttle cutting in and out". I have since July 2017 my first bike ever, a BMW G310R. A small bike, but I guess it was a good choice as a starter bike and I couldn't really afford anything more expensive.
    My ONLY real complaint about it is that at 1st, 2nd, and maybe 3rd gear, when I'm trying to maintain steady cruising speed, I think I experience what you mentioned at 5:24, about the throttle "cutting in and out", or being twitchy. Even if my hand doesn't move at all, I cannot seem to get a real smooth ride, but it just happens at slow cruising speeds. I don't really know or understand why that happens and if it can be "fixed". I don't understand what causes it... maybe the fact that it's a small bike?
    Anyways, would really help any insight you could have.
    Thanks, man!

    • @BorisOnBikes
      @BorisOnBikes  6 років тому

      Hi Miguel!
      I've ridden the G310R and I think it's a great bike! I even did a little review video about it haha!
      As far as your throttle problem goes, I'm not sure I've had the same problem when I test rode it.
      The issue I'm taking about in this video is when the throttle is too sensitive and you can't keep a constant cruising speed.
      I usually try to keep the bike in certain RPMs, usually lower RPMs to make it less twitchy. So if you're in 1st, maybe try going into 2nd and cruise at a lower RPM.
      Other than that, it may just be a mapping issue and I'd take it to the dealer to see what they say. If it's a new bike, they shouldn't charge you for it.
      Hope this helps, I'm not a motorcycle expert 😆

    • @Slayer-Knight
      @Slayer-Knight 6 років тому

      Boris. Thanks for replying! Really appreciate it. Sorry I hadn't replied back, I had been busy traveling.
      I'll look into what you say. I have been riding for about 9 months now, but I feel I'm still in the process of learning tips and tricks when riding, so I'm never completely sure if what I experience is normal, not normal and related to my lack of expertise, or not normal and related to some bike issue.
      Would help me if I could get my hands on another bike and compare it to mine, but that is kinda hard.
      Anyways, thanks, bro!

  • @hungryguy626
    @hungryguy626 8 років тому

    Boris, How did you enjoy riding this compared to the R nineT? These are the two i'm considering. Is the price jump worth it as i'm considering my next purchase to be my final one. I don't recall your height but I believe we're about the same; I'm 5'8".

    • @BorisOnBikes
      @BorisOnBikes  8 років тому

      Yes, we are about the same. I am also 5'8".
      I prefer the r nine t over the X Diavel.
      This is an amazing machine, but it is a totally different class than the BMW.
      I prefer the seating position and the comfort of the Nine T over the Ducati.
      Besides, I already have one Ducati. I don't really want two LOL!

    • @hungryguy626
      @hungryguy626 8 років тому

      Yeah, I haven't had the chance to test ride a xDiavel, but I havev ridden the R nineT and I really liked it. I didn't like it more than my BMW S1000R but I did like it and I i guess looks is what is attracting me to both the xdiavel and r ninet. I'm almost sure i'll be going with the scrambler r ninet the will be available later this year, but I wanted to make sure, haha! Thanks for the response, love the vids, bro! I was in SD recently and i rolled by the place you would always go drop off your MV at. lol

    Nice review! What made you to choose R nine T over Xdiavel?

    • @BorisOnBikes
      @BorisOnBikes  7 років тому +1

      Thank you! Honestly, I just didn't like the seating position on the Xdiavel. It is a fantastic bike! Sounds great, looks amazing, fast as hell! Just doesn't seem comfy for a pillion with that tiny rear seat and mainly the riding position for me was a bit uncomfortable and weird.
      If the seating was more with your feet back, It would have been a hard decision.

    • @kiwan5425
      @kiwan5425 7 років тому

      Thanks for your reply! It totally make sense since you carry your gf a lot. For me, when I did my first ride, it was quite awkward as well. But my second ride, I was more adjusted towards the forwarded foot pegs. Since then it was weird but fun to lean over each side during cornering. The reason why I asked you this question is I'm also trying to decide between Xdiavel, R nine T, Bonneville T120, and Thruxton R. lol

    • @BorisOnBikes
      @BorisOnBikes  7 років тому

      Haha!! Great choices. I can see why you are having a hard time.
      I suggest trying all of them as close together as possible and make your decision based on that.
      I love my nine T and I think that I made a right choice :)
      Good luck with your choice and if you remember, let me know what you end up getting.

    At my age, I cannot sit on a sport bike without getting stuck in that position. I like my forward controls, and long reach to the bars on my Street Bob, mostly because I can get off and stand up with little pain or knee joints locked up.

    • @BorisOnBikes
      @BorisOnBikes  8 років тому

      +Messkit ! I do understand that sport bikes are uncomfortable, but I find the X Diavel to be ever more uncomfortable than my Ducati 996. But what inquiring minds want to know is when will you change the while MV manually, like to the awesome GS!?

    • @BorisOnBikes
      @BorisOnBikes  8 років тому

      It would be a shame for me to get a GS. The poor thing would never see any dirt.
      I was thinking something along the lines of a KTM Super Duke R

      +Boris on Bikes oh yes that's a great choice as well. I doubt you'll have nearly the moody Italian problems as you have had then.

    And to answer a comment,
    Yes I absolutely use the riding modes:
    Canyons and track = Sport (162hp hi)
    Cruising and Highways = Touring (162hp better mpg)
    Loaning it to a buddy = Urban
    Best bike I've ever owned and it will be in garage for the distant foreseeable future.

      +1990 actually, people who had tryied it, says it's quite comfortable. to carry the passenger you have to mount the back support and ducati gives you a different seat, more long and more soft.
