Great vid, keep doing what you're doing! I just rode 2 hours up and 1.5 hours back, on my XDiavel, on the highway, to do a demo ride on a Diavel 1260. I found my X to be comfortable although I am 6'3. It is an excellent city and around town bike like you said. Rarely do I feel any harsh bumps. Side note: I guess the sport bike riding days are over. I enjoyed the demo on the Diavel but wouldn't trade that foot peg position for the forward position of the X.
The XDiavel bridges all the factors a great bike has beautifully and there is nothing like it. Relatively LIGHT where it’s competition is heavy (VMax, Rocket3, VRod, M109, etc.) and scores high in performance including handling (where the others also don’t) surprisingly well, as well as reasonably comfortable. Not a Goldwing but for a ride around town or short trips, nothing beats it. And drop dead gorgeous as well. Ive had so many bikes from cruisers to super sports and this bike is the best.
You are absolutely right Mike!!! I miss my XDiavel and I regret selling it. I’m pretty sure I’ll buy another one in the future. I was a fool to sale it but we all make mistakes 🤷🏻♂️
I have two bikes, this and and old Triumph Rocket 3. Taken the Rocket all over the Europe without much comfort problems. Took the XDiavel to North France from the UK last summer. So uncomfortable. It is not meant for long trips, what it's great at is having fun blatting around for a few hours on small twisty B roads. I call my Ducati scalpel and my Triumph sledge hammer. Both great at what they do and I will never take the Ducati on a long run again. And if I want to go out and just be a hooligan for the day I'll leave the Rocket at home. Love both bikes for different reasons. Have fun out there and be safe out there.........
Lucky you to have two amazing bikes 👍🏼🔥 that’s a good pair to have. Thanks for sharing and ride safe. I hope to have another XDiavel one day in the future. It’s one of a kind.
@@jesseonamotorcycle I actually traded in my old Diavel 1198 in for the "X". That is great bike too. If you have never ridden the old Diavel find a good second hand one and give it a go. You can pick up some really nice ones for a reasonable price over here in the UK. Probably the same over there. Find one with all the stuff already done to it ;-) Termi etc I recon if Batman was out looking at bikes the 1190 Diavel would catch his eye LOL. edit: just be careful as the front wheel loves being in the air. It's hard sometimes to keep both wheels on the floor! Much more of a hooligan than the newer models.
I bought a Triumph Rocket 3 GT 221 which looks like a Diavel. I have no Ducati dealer close to me for either test rides or purchasing. The R3 is very comfortable for long rides. 😎
No I’m using the forward controls, I’ve been considering switching to the mid controls and Rearward Handlebar. Not sure yet. I’ve been considering a second bike. Maybe a Harley or Indian. Still debating.
Isn’t the suspension adjustable and don’t they have a comfort seat? I rode a Hayabusa over 3hrs and was just fine. Btw my Harley breakout wasn’t the most comfortable either?
I found the forward controls comfy at first. Short rides ain't too bad. Did a 400km trip and for me to stay comfortable I had to shift my footing to stay comfortable. I've converted and got the ducabike mid controls and it's a lot more comfortable on longer rides. I'm about 5'10" and also my wife of 5'3" can ride the bike now. The XD scares her lol
I’ve been thinking of going to the mid controls. Maybe eventually. It’s probably a lot easier on my back. Especially with the rearward handle bars. Thanks for watching. Enjoy riding that beast!
I just did 1000km in two days on my XDiavel, I've done a lot of touring on it. The longest trip 3800km in 7 days. The biggest issues are wind and butt pain
I am looking for a starter bike and I am having issues deciding between - XDiavel, the new 2021 Sportster S or the Ducati Monster. Any recommendations?
I would say Ducati XDiavel but I may be a bit bias lol. The monster is nice as well and the sportster s is a fun bike as well I’m sure. I don’t think any of these choices are bad. Go sit on them and see them in person. Seems like all great choices. 👍🏼
@@jesseonamotorcycle Word, you def use it so it's worth it. Always loved this and the regular diavel. Really looking into getting one soon, my cbr650r is good but a cruiser-ish bike is a great stablemate

Nice I’ve always wanted to test drive a Diavel 1260 just to see what it feels like.
Did you feel the diviel position was better than the X? I’m 6’5 and contemplating one as a daily/commuter

Took a long ride on my Xdiavel. No problem with comfort but I have a rearward handlebar which provides a relaxed riding position.
