    Great Job ! Amazing! i was asking my self why for the external rail supports you have not installed two 45 degrees support bracing directly to the two bottom external column bottom of the shelter, may be it could have been more easy to be installed and would not have been suffered any possible subsidence of the ground when wet …😊 with two extremity connection hinges each, the bracings would have seen only compression and not shear and bending moment …. 😊😊

      That is a good question. I guess you could go either way. I might plan my next build more in detail.

      oh, mine it was only a merely thought, 🙂 i am a structural naval architect (rather than amateur astronomer) so i usually try to check all the possible ways … you are doing a really great work!!!! looking forward to see next episode!!! unfortunately i live in a flat in really old house in Ligurian Riviera (Italy) nearby the sea and unfortunately i am not in position to built such a great thing on my balcony .. 🙂🙃

      Thank you so much! Yes, I'm trying to build it as if it was a house, not just a small shed :D

    I'm still watching Martin,
    Looking good. I was wondering how you were going to extend the roll-off tracks for the roof. Now I know.

    Why so low ?

    • @frosthastrophotography
      @frosthastrophotography  2 роки тому

      That is a good question. I don't really need a high observatory for my needs, just astro photography and because of that I wanted to save on costs and impact on the surroundings and visibility in the crossing right next to the building. A full height building would also require a very high pier since I want to have maximum sight as low as possible on the horizon without the need to fold down walls or something like that. That would have required a much more massive pier in order to make sure for it to be completely stable a vibration free.
