I am enjoying watching this series. Everyone who builds an observatory has ideas on design and I think your series has inspired some viewers on how they may approach their own. Good job Sir.
hello, Congratulations again to you for this beautiful job. your observatory is starting to look great🤩 why didn't you frame your door as you did the corners? You would perhaps be less bothered and the boards that are on the frame of your door would have come down to the bottom, like your angles. Nope? Otherwise really congratulations to you and you for giving inspiration for my future project. Courage you touched at the end 😅
Very nice choice of exterior finish! Curious to know what you did or will do to ensure that the roof assembly will not lift up / off in high winds? Impressive work!
Fantastiskt! Beundrar din noggrannhet! Men det vinner du på i längden, vem vet hur länge detta lilla huset kommer stå sig, kanske i flera hundra år 😃👌👍
Thank you! Yes, you are correct, normally you have maybe at least three studs for the panelling. I figured that I would use two studs and get away with that. The frame actually begins right above the bottom stud, below that is the base structure and that is treated wood. I have wind paper that is wind and water resistant all the way down. If some water should get in there it will dry out since it is well ventilated.
OOh, good news about that tarp. First I thought it was disguising a military launch shed. The door is certainly not made for tall people, but it will work. Do you have a blueprint for this or are you making it up as you go? Nonetheless, I am quite impressed. - Patrick -
I'm just making it up as I go. That has resulted in a few bad decisions, but overall I'm happy with the result so far. Hopefully I can speed up the last phase of the build to make it weather proof to start the assembly and test of motor and roof.
I have to tell you, watching your carpentry is like watching a high speed work of art in creation.
Thank you so much, that made my day!
I am very much enjoying watching your progress. Thanks for sharing this. Clear skies!
Thank you very much. I'm going to try and keep up the pace until it's finished. I really want to start using it as well.
Nice job Patrick, it will look great when it’s finished 👍
Thank you so much!

Thank you so much!
Good job so far. This is proving to be an interesting adventure.
Thank you! It sure is a small adventure. I wish I didn't have to go to work today so I could build full time :)
Looks great! Hopefully soon I will be building a pier in my yard. Will construct it with a future mini observatory like yours in mind.😀
Thank you so much! Good luck with your build.

Thank you! You are correct, I should have framed with the panelling all the way down. Measure twice and cut once :) I think I will let it go though.

Thank you! I haven't figured that out yet, but will include that in a video.

Tusen tack :D
Great video as always! 👍👍 I notice quite a gap at the bottom of your panelling - are you worried water may get in here if you have heavy rain?
