Awesome info on setting up roof automation

I'm planning on integrating the roof motor with N.I.N.A. using an arduino. I just didn't have time to test that before the winter. I will make a video on that in a few months.

Snow??? I don't know what that is ... ha ha. Now clouds and rain, I know plenty about that. As for me, I would be perfectly happy to just manually open and close the roof without the need for the remote, but what you are doing is great. Connecting to NINA is a great way to go.

We get a lot of snow :) I do have a vision of just going to bed and don't worry about the imaging and equipment.

Hi, just interested on watching your series of building the obs, just wanted to know the make of the motor you are using, I am looking for a motor for my own obs. Thanks

Thank you for watching! It was Amazon, kind of noname or oem branded. Searching today I find the same under manufacturer Fetcoi and Yolancity as 2 examples.

Motor seems overly complicated, did you consider a garage door opener, mine works fine.

I did but in my opinion it is the most easy solution. My garage door opener operates with a chain system that require more than this solution with a gear and rod. There might be other systems that operate in other ways.
