- How To Setup A Home Karaoke System Using UA-cam, Smart TV and Sound Bar
The General Idea on how this Home Karaoke System works: The Smart TV plays the video and at the same time sends the Karaoke Music Audio part to the mixer via a Digital to Analog Audio Converter. The mixer also takes the vocal input from the microphones, and then combines the Karaoke Music and the vocal and sends that combined sound to the Sound Bar. The Sound Bar then plays the Karaoke Music and your voice simultaneously with the lyrics on the Smart TV. Sounds complicated right, but it is actually very easy to understand once you finish this set-up!!!

Hello i have questions regardig setting up my home theater as karaoke. I have a audio mixer but different kind as yours

I was searching this simple instruction all over the UA-cam You did it pretty good. Thank you ❤
Glad I could help!
Excellent presentation. Especially the step-by-step video demonstration, very easy to follow. Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback! Glad its helpful!
Thank you so much for this - I am not the most tech savvy person but my wife really wanted Karaoke for her birthday this year and I was able to do it with your guide!
Awesome news! ❤️👍 glad the video helps!
was it easy to set up ? my dad wants to have a home karaoke system that is not hard to set up.... i am contemplating on getting this.
Thank you very for the helpful guidance! Our system sounds great 👍
Thats amazing!
The only problem is your background music is too loud.
sorry :( I fixed it in the other videos
Another option is, if you have a powered/amplified speaker (the ones used for guitars). Just connect it to your TV via a 3.5/aux cable, and connect a microphone to one of the ports in the amplified speaker.
Absolutely right. That is if your TV has the 3.5 aux output.
Is there a 3.5/aux to hdmi cable?
@Millie Grace i think you need to buy a HDMI extractor.

Thx for that video. Was looking for a guide how to set up karaoke system cause wife pestering me every day. This is by far the easiest explanation to follow.
Thanks. Glad you find it helpful. I have a few related videos depending on your devices. Just check out my channel.
Great video!!! You do a great job breaking things down. However, I have a couple questions. First question - since I have only one optical audio output, how can I avoid having to switch the optical cable back and forth when I just want to watch a movie with surround sound instead of karaoking? Second question and the most important - I noticed you plugged your microphones in rather than use the Soundtown wireless ones, how come? I am assuming it’s because they don’t work. My microphones I received in the box aren’t working for whatever reason. Please help me diagnose and fix the problem. Thank you.
Hello. Thanks for your question.
First - to answer your first question, there are 2 ways. The easiest way is to use an Optical Splitter for a few bucks: amzn.to/3x2pke8. The other way which what I am doing, I use HDMI (ARC) for surround, and use Optical strictly for Karaoke.
Second - actually, I used a wired mic because I didn;t have the wireless mics during the recording of the video. In my follow-up videos, you'd see me use the wireless mics :) ua-cam.com/play/PLAUk_CUksOJ2-cDl_zJhHa36Ttz1vOUE9.html.
As far as how to make it work, I would say, call Sound Town customer Support. My unit worked out of the box. I'm sure the manual can help you trouble shoot as well.
Very helpful video and I was finally able hook-up karaoke at home. However, it worked for a few weeks and suddenly the soundbar started having a very scratchy loud noise. I thought the soundbar went bad but when I disconnected all the karaoke stuff (mixer and converter) and went back to my original setup, the sound bar worked perfectly. I even tried using a different mixer to see if that was the issue but that did not fix the issue. Would you know what would be causing the scratchy noise?
You are a God send. Thank you for the video. You gave excellent, clear and deliberate explanations and I greatly appreciate the products links making the whole process almost easy!
Thanks :)
Hoy pare, thank you so much for your help! You've earned my subscription! I use to set all this up when my kids were young but we had portable karaoke and magic sing. It seems things are a lot better and more updated now. Thank you for your tutorial! God bless!
How's the sound quality naman?
Sure. Thanks for leaving a feedback.
@@MabuhayKaraoke you are most welcome my friend! God bless!
Thank you for the video, what is the difference between Soundtown swm15 and swm16? Which one is more advanced and produce better quality sound?
Hi. Sound Town 15 has HDMI IN and OUT and will work better if you us a Chromecast or Roku or any streaming device to play a video. You can also use TV to play video via the HDMI OUT (ARC) but ARC does not work well in my experience. It is very inconsistent.
swm16 works well if you want to use Smart TV because it has Optical Input and you won't need any digital converter. If you have not already, you should watch this video that features swm16. ua-cam.com/video/qcFKwDM_8bI/v-deo.html
In terms of sound quality, I think there is not much difference really.
The loud music is so much a distraction

Hello I have a question if do I still need a mixer with my karaoke magic sing set up, I have bass, amplifier and 2 Klipsch speakers. I really want to have a good sound my karaoke.
Great video!!
You explained it so well, that it looks so simple.
Just a couple of questions.
Which sound bar you are using? Does a simple portable, 2.0 sound bar without a whoofer will do, or you need to have a dolby digital 5.1 soundbar with whooofer ?
Second question is which mixer you are using? Does it have adjustments like Echo, treble bass etc.
Please clarify.
Thanks

Hi. The link of the mixer to amazon is in the description. It has echo and volume only.
The soundbar im using here is not available but i have a recommendation in the description link as well.
A good soundbar it good enough. A surround sound is great but not required.

Thank you for this video! I will try the setup. Can I use an karaoke app like Shule to stream from my iPhone to my tv via a Bluetooth connection using the sound bar set up you demonstrated?
Hi. You can possibly use Smule by “Mirroring” your phone to your TV.
I would avoid using bluetooth because I noticed that with Bluetooth, the sound is delayed. What’ll happen is that the music and lyrics wouldn’t be synchronized then.
Hi. Thanks for your reply. Smule is very expensive and not user friendly. I tried the Bluetooth method and it synched perfectly. Used the RCA output plugs from the D/A converter into mixer and back to sound bar through RCA input. We had a great karaoke night. Thank you for your post. !
Thank you for the useful video, my question is my Digital analoque converter has a headphone sign not aux. Is this possible to used it as well to connect to mixer?
Yes, it is possible.

Thanks for this very informative video. I am very much interested in converting my home theatre set up for karaoke. I have a smart TV connected to an amplifier to which 6 speakers are connected. In this set up where do i connect the mixer and the converter without having to switch cabling when watching movies
Hi. That's what I have. I use the TV Optical OUT for Karaoke via converter. But I use the HDMI ARC for watching movies.
Great job bro! How about if I have an existing Platinum Karaoke with Smart TV and Sonos Beam soundbar, do I have to connect my Platinum Karaoke to the mixer? What would you recommend?
Hi. The system is not meant for a Karaoke product like you have. It is meant to replace Karaoke Products so that you can use UA-cam Karaoke which is free, unlimited, hassle free and no need of upgrades.
How fix karaoke delay on sound-bar?. I followed your steps on how to use the soundbar for karaoke, and I’m really glad it work. My only problem is there’s delay on the mic.
Hi Jay. Unfortunately, we have not figured out how to fix that. A few people have told me and asked me the same. I always recommend though that you call the customer service of your microphone manufacturer. If they can't help, you should return and replace the mic.

Hi this is awesome! I have a question I’m using k3 sound blaster mixer it has RCA can i just connect that to my smart TV and then straight to the soundbar without the digital analog converter? My tv has 3.5mm headphone jack, hdmi, video output and optical audio out. Could you please help which sound bar do i need to buy to set up a karaoke using my K3 soundblaster mixer hope u can help me thank you

Please check the description. I put a link to amazon for the gadgets I used.

Thank u for this vid, but my concern is that my tv speaker has only an on/off setting, it doesn't have the audio out setting, which maybe why the sound delays?
Are you using a soundbar? I doubt it is causing the delay.
Are you using wired microphone?
First of all, this is a great video and you clearly explained everything. Do you know what type of karaoke audio mixer I would use for my older TV (SAMSUNG un65ku650dfxza) that has only the ARC HDMI but no optical output? Thank you.

Great video and informative way to use sound bar with smart tv and Pyle mixer. I was wondering if I can take advantage of the HDMI(ARC)+Soundbar+Pyle mixer(or any mixers) to sing UA-cam karaoke. Thanks ahead.
Hi. Thanks. I am not sure about using ARC. I actually do not have good experience with ARC.. when I did it.. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. There was no consistency, so I avoided it.
You can try... but you probably need a mixer that supports HDMI-ARC as well.
Such a shame.
What about the new soundbars they don’t seem to have an Auxiliary input

This is ingenious brother! Just ordered the karaoke mixer and a couple optical to aux cables (my Samsung sound bar does not have a 3.5mm input, only optical). We just upgraded our home theater setup on Black Friday, so this is the perfect way to add karaoke to our living room!
Will update how our setup turns out tomorrow 😎 You've earned a new sub, mabuhay!
Thanks :) Very much appreciated. Let me know if you have specific issues or questions.
@@MabuhayKaraoke So we got it to work, but not in the way I imagined in my head, haha. So, the karaoke mixer receives HDMI eARC from the Samsung smart tv, and outputs to our sound bar via optical cable. The issue with this setup is we lose the 5.1 surround sound because apparently this karaoke mixer only outputs stereo audio. Is there any way to output 5.1 surround sound again? Maybe with additional hardware? Maybe a completely different karaoke mixer you can recommend? We like the simplicity of this karaoke setup, but losing 5.1 surround sound is a big letdown!
Edit: I found out how to get my surround sound back. I purchased a 1 in, 2 out HDMI switcher. Placed that between the TV source and karaoke mixer, now I can switch between karaoke mode, and still feed my sound bar the other HDMI to achieve surround sound.
@@MabuhayKaraoke sir kylangan ko help mo😅

Hi, thanks for the teaching.
May I know with the said setup, can I control the vocal singing key (up and down)?
Unfortunately you can’t. You just need to find a Karaoke video that has a different key.
When we said “Karaoke”, isn’t it we can adjust the key to match with our vocal? What if we connect it to an AV Amplifier which has key control? Does this work?
looks good but how do you do pitch control?
You cant. You just need to pick a music video that has the pitch that you like.

Hi, great video. I do have a couple of questions for you. I have a wireless microphone system, but the power light is not on. I did put batteries in the microphone, and still doesn't work. In the video, I didn't see any light on your box either. Also, I don't have any sound coming out from the soundbar. Any help with these issues is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Great video and i am sure it will help a lot of people . Now for our situation : We own a Grand Videoke Symphony. Great system however indeed, have to buy every 2 months a song update and the songs are rubbish. One is able to do song requests but they are never fullfilled. So maybe its time to put it aside and go for the youtube way however :
We have a LG Smart TV wich is connected through HDMI to our Sonos Playbase. What would be the solution in this situation ? Just a mixer to free HDMI slot on the TV or ??
Hi. There are many ways to do that. One is to follow this video that you commented on and just send the HDMI Mixer to the Soundbar.
I can't find the Pyle mixer with the 2 wired mics you mention in the video. Your Amazon link only shows mixers with wireless mics. Do you know where I can find this mixer with the 2 wired mics or something similar? Or maybe even just a part number? We tried the Sound Town setup with the wireless mics but the delay was too bad so we returned it to Amazon. Thanks!
sorry for the delay. You can try this one: amzn.to/3uc5OyJ A bit expensive but should work well
Great video! May I also check if using a projector works the same? Can the music and microphone voice output through the projector device itself?
Using a projector is possible. In fact, I have multiple videos about that in this channel. Here is one of them: ua-cam.com/video/ikIRN05sL8U/v-deo.html
And yes, you can use the projector speakers to play the audio, though it won't be as good.
