why do you need the chromcast connected to the mixer?

It's not good karaoke if you are not able to change the key (pitch) of the individual songs. If your songs are coming from UA-cam without additional hardware that can change the pitch without speeding up or slowing down the tempo, you can only sing the song in it's original key. The systems that are common in karaoke found in Japan and Korea are able to do this for their banks of songs. UGA and DAM in Japan for example.

TV karaokee is 1. Let TV karaoke nusic play. 2. Connect microphone to a speaker box with built in amplifier and turn it on. Karaoke system is ON. Done.

I followed your video and gotten all the devices but am having some problem cos when i set my Sony HT-A9 system to be on HDMI mode, i can hear the mic but not the music. When I set it to be on TV mode, i can hear the music but cant hear the mic. My system might be different from yours but i think the concept is the same. If you can help and advise,i would appreciate it.

What if the HDMI ARC port is being used to support the sound bar?

I have an AV receiver and a FireTV that has built in streaming and UA-cam. I Plan on buying the audio mixer but I'm not sure how to plug it to the system. My FireTV has HDMI ARC out going to the HDMI ARC input into the receiver. Do I just put the mixer HDMI ARC output directly into one of the fire TV's HDMI slots? The AV receivers HDMI input slots are already dedicated to CBL/SAT, Media Player, Blu-ray and GAME. I will have to turn the dial to one of these if I plug in the mixer to hear sound from the microphone (if that even works) but I won't have streaming UA-cam on screen because I have to keep the AV receiver in TV/audio for FireTV input. The sequence is FireTV HDMI ARC output to HDMI ARC input in AV receiver then out to the speakers. Where should I put the mixer?

In case I use av out from the mixer and connect to my sound bar or speaker via 3.5 mm will it work.because my soundbar does not have optical output/input

Thank you for the video, very helpful. Question, i already have a soundbar connected to my tv. Unfortunately, both tv and soundbar only has one optical outlet. Does that mean i have to change tv and soundbar? Is there no other option? My tv and soundbar are relatively new (2022) and i love both brands LG and Bose.

Do you know how to use my existing WOW karaoke micropone with speaker connected to TV but to use my micropone using youtube karaoke? They have separate HDMI for the WOW karaoke and TV monitor. I still need that mixer right? No way to do straight using you tube with my wow karaoke micropone?

You don't need an optical cable/connection when using HDMI, audio and video go through HDMI cable. Optical connection is redundant. Thanks.

Thanks for the great video - you inspired me to try this out. I bought Soundtown and followed instructions as described with new samsung tv & soundbar. Is it normal to need to increase volume significantly when changing from hdmi arc to optical? Normally, I watch TV in arc sound level ~18. With optical, I need to turn the soundbard to level 60. I also crank the microphone (wMic A) to nearly max and the Music mixer to a very low setting. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong. Thank you!!!
