    Imagine complaining about an 11 minutes video that someone took their time to explain, put together, and uploaded for FREE to save you frustration from millions of possible combinations and trials and errors between all these machines and wiring! People are so gd ungrateful and dont deserve this man and his tutorial.
    My mom has been wanting a setup and Idek what Idk so thank you so much for giving me an idea of what I need to start with ❤❤

      Sometimes you just have to ignore certain people. We all have to learn that. There are so many people who are just lying in wait for the opportunity to be offended, feign compassion, or throw 2nd grade insults at the ones who actually matter in this world. (I know, a little harsh, but I feel your frustration!🙂)

    Good job! Congrats to you and your girl. I’ve been a home tech guy for 40+ years, and even a radio guy for several years, but I’m not so much a karaoke guy. My daughter will be getting married soon, and your video has given me some knowledge and a lot of inspiration to attack the task of being her requested…DJ! 😳😱

    I use PROZOR Audio Converter, that’s really the key. Any brand of converter will work. You can also set up without receiver, if you don’t have one. You can also still use HDMI but your receiver or TV needs to have HDMI Arc, regular HDMI won’t work. Most of my speakers connects are XLR for mic s and speakers, that works also. Great video!

    This is great. The only downside I see in this setup is reducing the 7.1 channel output your TV sends out via optical to a 2 channel output the mixer sends out. If you are not using the karaoke and just watching a good movie, you end up with a flat sound on your surround system. Of course you can undo the mixer and send it right through the surround, but that seems like a hassle. Is there an easier solution for this?

    Did the setup - hooked up to my soundbar /surround sound system., using the aux port on the sound bar. Works great!
    Only modifications are the mixer input requires 1/4 plugs, so from optical converter need dual RCA to dual 1/4. And from mixer to soundbar need dual 1/4 to 3.5mm.
    Couldn’t find this info anywhere else! Thanks for the video- party basement time for parents and kids alike!!

    Nice setup.. also I can give you some other tips….add a mic preamp… there are some cheap ones to at sweetwater… I do karaoke at home and I have a plug in on my computer that has a built in mic preamp. And my voice sounds like it’s on steroids.. basically you should add a cheap outboard rack mount mic preamp and a outboard rack mount compresssior unless the mixer already has built in compresssion and reverb I’m sure. But the mic preamp… really sounds amazing.. if you don’t no what a preamp is… it’s basically a control the controls bass mids and treble but just imagine instead of having a knob that goes from 1-10 for each aimagine it goes from 1-100 and at the same time it boost the signal a little bit… so seriously look into adding a mic preamp…

    The power for the firestick is through the usb connector available in the back of every lcd tv. The jbl partybox has a usb port to power the mixer. These will eliminate 2 extra plugs in the wall. Professional set up. Enjoy.

    1 - Does this mean you are downgrading a possible 5.1 audio output to a 2 channel audio output?
    2 - Is there a scenario where your karaoke music would be 5.1? probably not right?
    3 - How does a 5.1 or 7.1 home theatre deal with a 2 channel audio input anyway? Does the bass get split out to the subwoofer and then left and right channels get directed to all the left and right speaker respectively? I think this may relate to other post regarding the potential damage your speakers.
    4 - Ok lets gets crazy... is there a setup where you could you get the mics to output through the front speakers and the music out of the rear speakers for example? I'm guessing that would require a mixer with 5.1 encoder which is perhaps prohibitively expensive or doesn't exist?

    • @teamjustduet
      @teamjustduet  2 роки тому

      There is no downgrading of the audio. The input from the TV remains in multi format, the mic audio is mixed at the mixer and goes to the tv. So all speakers are active and directionality is maintained. So you can leave it in this config and watch a movie. I have been using this for about a year havent had any issues.

    • @larrytang3799
      @larrytang3799 2 роки тому +1

      I’m not sure as well on how you are getting sound via 5.1. When I connect everything as you have it, it only plays from front L, front R and sub. What ports specifically are you plugging the rca cables into on the receiver? You also mentioned the mic audio is going to the tv, I thought the mic audio goes to mixer, mixer goes to receiver?

    • @jee007x
      @jee007x Рік тому

      Use this set up ONLY when you're doing Karaoke. if you use this same setup for your HD content, it will NOT be able to output 5.1/7.1 audio signals (that is only possible via direct HDMI/optical/Digital Coax from TV to Home Theatre Receiver). You can get all speakers to output the sound, but it will not be actual surround, just stereo- sucks if you have a quality setup.

  • @cyclingthekolkatawetlands9721

    Hello though you have explained very nicely. I need confirmation. I have a Bose home theatre system and a TV directly connected with optical Output from TV and optical Input in Bose.
    To make a karaoke system
    1. Optical converter which you have shown
    2. Music Mixer
    3. Mic
    4. Cable from Music Mixer to Bose i.e. Headphone jack coming out of Music Mixer and Optical going in the Bose or RCA going in TV
    3

    A better way to simplify the setup is to use a karaoke box like Acnos Mi30u pro. It has bluetooth, optical in, wireless microphones sold together with the set, and we just need to plug it to our home system via optical out line 1/2. Very cheap and convenient solution that under 100 bucks.

    Pretty cool, but how do you use just the TV with the speakers? The mixer would have to be plugged in. And you would have to use separate remote controls, one for the TV and one for the receiver? Currently I have my TV connected to my receiver through HDMI ARC and I control both the TV and receiver with one remote.

    You are so awesome thank you!
    I have one question for you… I have a dumb TV, but it is connected via hdmi to a smart cable box (with UA-cam app) that is connected via hdmi to a Vizio m5.1 surround sound. I have not bought the mics and mixer yet because I am stuck trying to understand how to work the cable box into the equation.
    The cable box only has coax, hdmi and power ports, no optical. I understand how I would connect the optical out from the tv to the mixer but I would be bypassing the cable box (which has UA-cam app). So “I can’t get there from here”…
    Do I need to go buy a smart tv for this to work?
    Is that the only solution?
    I hope you can help me configure my new surround sound to work with a new karaoke mixer rather than me buying something that may never work. Thank you so much!

    Hi great video.
    I’m trying to set up the same, doing from speakers from tv and mixer that connects to my mic.
    I can connect tv to amp using optical cable, that has given me sound through speakers from tv.
    Can I now connect tv to mixer using red and white cables from mixer to tv ( plugging into head phone jack on tv and then into mixer (in) . And then using second red and white cables from mixer to amp (out)
    Let’s say connect to video 1,2 or 3. Then select that channel on the amp. Would it all work?

    • @bvaljalo
      @bvaljalo 2 роки тому

      You would need to buy a mixer for the setup that has digital (optical aka toslink) out to make this configuration work. They def. exist though may not be as cheap as a pure analog mixer (as in the video). Everything else would be the same as described here (or close to it) you just need that one additional output that's compatible with your soundbar. Alternatively you could use an analog mixer but would need a simple analog to digital converter device to take analog from mixer and turn it to digital (via optical) to feed to soundbar.

    I have an old Karaoke DVD player with a mixer function built into it with 2 mic connections in front, optical and S-video holes and a bunch of RCA jacks behind it, can I just use it as a mixer? I don't have a sound bar but have an old stereo system that is basically an FM stereo amplifier that's hooked up to the speakers. How do I connect them? Do I connect the optical cable from TV to the Karaoke DVD player's optical then run RCAs to the stereo system?

    I did everything that you mentioned in this video. I still can't get both the sound of the mic and the tv sound (youtube) at the same time using my denon receiver. What settings do my tv and receiver need to be at?

    what about amplification of sound .. by doing this will not sound output on speakers go down ? or in this example your receiver has inbuild amplifier so it took care of amplification of sound ?

    Thanks, really helpful video. One question though. Currently I am using my TV for viewing ATMOS 5.1 movies. For that I have to connect my TV to the receiver through e Arc HDMI port. Now if I want to do karaoke, I have to connect my TV with the Optical port to the mixer. So does that mean that each time I watch movies I have to select on my TV the output as HDMI and each time I do Karaoke I have to choose optical output right ? Is there a way to switch between the two types of output automatically?

    Hi, I would like to ask about the output from the mixer to AVR and then towards the speaker. Is the end output at the speaker side 5.1 surround sound (as per your setup seen this video) by using UA-cam from your Smart TV? Or only your Stereo Left and Right Speakers and subwoofer only working (Hence 2.1 only)? I had a similar setup like yours however my AVR is a Samsung DVD player that supports 5.1.
    I've tried hooking TV towards the AVR using the RCA directly and seems like the result is also 2.1 only hence I'm unsure it should be like this or I should upgrade to a better AVR. So far the DVD player only outputs 5.1 when it plays DVD hence I'm confused whether its working as intended or its just the AVR problem.
    Thanks in advance! Nice tutorial too.

    Great video. Quick question: Are you playing your tv audio through your surround sound system when you’re not using the mixer/mics? Do you have to disconnect the cables &/or change the tv output?

    • @teamjustduet
      @teamjustduet  4 місяці тому

      That’s correct. And no, you just need to switch the output for audio, from optical to hdmi

    Are you using the optical because your TV doesn't have a 3.5 headphones audio out or will it not work that way. I assume it will if I then switch the audio on the TV settings to audio out? I'm trying to avoid more cables and an additional adapter.

    Great video, thanks for the setup. You really do know what you're talking about.
    I thought about doing this "after" I purchased a $250 karaoke speaker. My A/V system kicks ass and has way better sound, obviously, than the karaoke speaker so I was wondering how to connect a mic to that system since there are no inputs for it. After looking at mixers and preamps and additional cables (way too many already) I thought I may try something else. So I connected my microphones (wireless) to my new karaoke speaker and use it for a stand-alone PA speaker. No music going to it, just the mics. I crank the karaoke tunes from UA-cam through my A/V system and have complete control of mic volume and echo from the Karaoke speaker. It actually sounds way better than I thought.

    I've been struggling for years with my setup. I have an Epson projector which connects through long high quality HDMI cables to a Pioneer receiver, which have 5.1 Harmon speakers connected. I bought a HDMI karaoke mixer/set but it gaves delays in the audio through put. So music and the songs didn't sync. Just wondering.. I don't have optical on the projector, I do have it on my receiver.
    Need to figure this out in my head. 😆

      It should work fine if you have a single input to Sonos. It will be the same as any other input you have for Sonos since the mixer does all the work.
