What an amazing week this was... Glorious swimming, pink water and a cute little sanctuary/castle combination.
Would you live in Torrevieja..?!?
Let us know your thoughts.
Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
Just down the Road la marina pueblo not the URB
We stayed the night near El Moncayo beach and thought it was a lovely area. 💜🤟
Just down the road el pinet where are you swimming looks fab 👍
🤟
I look forward to seeing your videos every Sunday. Congratulations on such high quality content. Thank you! Tom
Hi Tom and thank-you for such a lovely comment. .
What has been your favourite location that we've visited so far .?!?
Much love and welcome.to the FX family..! Alison and Darren 💜🤟
I started watching your videos when I was researching a trip to Valencia. I particularly enjoy anything to do with Spain and watching you discover new regions. The Picos de Europa trip looked amazing! X
@MrThfs We really enjoyed our visit to Bulnes. We hope to go back to the Picos again and have a better look around, do more hiking etc, but it will probably be after our trip to Türkiye now. We hope you'll enjoy travelling with us there too. 😘💜🤟
Great video 📹Thanks!
You're very welcome John. We're glad you liked it and thanks for coming along with us for the ride..!
Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
The opening was great, I can have breakfast with the view anyday. The salt Lake was nice. I see a lot of properties selling from Torrevieja. But I also can see it's very peoply three. Beautiful ornate church.
Hey Kat,
Yes, breakfast with that view would be a total.blessing any day, wouldn't it..?!? We visited some very lovely places this week. Glad you liked them too.
Thanks for your comment.
Much love as always 💜🤟
Keep up the good work and adventures guys👍
Thank-you very much. We're glad you like the videos. What has been your favourite adventure so far..?!?
Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
@@findingxanadulife Good question - our recent trip to Shenyang, China as its my wife's home city, but, we are really looking forward to getting back to Denia/Gandia which is where will be retiring 2027 - Question for you guys - in retrospect, if you could pick anywhere in Spain to live a quiet life not too far from the coast (30 min drive), which areas would you consider?
We're hoping to travel to china eventually, but it might take us a while.
Darren is really taken by the areas inland from Valencia, but also Asturias, but Asturias comes with much cooler, wetter weather.
I love Potries, my heart is there, but also Bolulla. The people are amazing and such a mix of cultures. People from 29 different countries live there.
We really liked Moncofa, Alcossebre and the Delta de L'Ebre.
Do you have a favourite place of the the ones we've made videos in..?!? 💜🤟
@@findingxanadulife thanks for the list of areas 🙂 i really like Calpe and the wider area. i am a cyclist (not fast) and loved to see all the cyclists out and about. The view down into Calpe is great.
@cstanleyhns Ah, if you like cycling, Bolulla is getting into the mountainous region behind Altea, which we also liked. Some good climbing available. Darren used to road cycle, then changed to mountain biking when we moved to Potries. Calpe is a beautiful area, we loved hiking up the Peñon d'Ifach, but the milkshakes that we had on the seafront were very expensive. 😱🤣💜🤟
Interesting to get your impressions of Torrevieja. I have a similar impression. And never been there. The lake looks interesting though! Thanks for sharing and Happy travels!
Some of the smaller urbanisations have very pretty little houses and being outside the main city of Torrevieja some areas seemed quite nice. It seems like Torrevieja is another "marmite" place like Benidorm. People either love it or hate it. We could probably live in the surrounding areas that had less ex-pats, but not in the city itself.
The lake was blissful. I (Alison) could definitely live near the lake. 😍
Thanks for your comment.
Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
Another great vid guy's. Can't wait to see what you have planned for Turkey. You both doing a great job. 😎🤘
Thanks Gareth, We're really excited to set off. Particularly looking forward to visiting Troia. 😍
Perse has her ITV today, so wish us luck..! 🍀🤞
Much love as always 💜🤟
Calle is my favorite
Where abouts is that..?!? It sends Google maps into a tail spin if I try to search for it. 🤣💜🤟
Ah we remember that first spot so well! It was our first swim in Spain while travelling in Daisy I think. The water was pristine, but it was flippin' freezing when we went in 😂 That was early March I think. Your swimming shots were great there, it was so clear even underwater.
I don't think we'd be fans of Torrevieja either, but we'd probably still visit. Although maybe not for long if it costs that much to park 😂
The salt lake was divine, very surreal looking, it looks worth going there just for that.
Take care guys ❤🤟
Spring in Spain is lovely, but autumn is better, the sea holds its temperature for longer. Autumn is now officially our favourite season. We lived swimming there, but sooo peopley. When we arrived, we said it looked familiar and said "Didn't Dan and Stephen go here..?". That's probably when I put the pin in the map, to make sure we went there...🤩
There was so little of old town Torrevieja left, it was a shame. The pink lake certainly made up for it though. The water was just so hot, it was mind blowing. It definitely makes your skin sting though, so when you go, have some way of showering ready...
Fingers crossed we can organise a meet up when we get to the UK.
Much love to you both. 😘🥰💜🤟
@@findingxanadulife I can well imagine autumn is the best time, not quite so hot but still beautiful warm seas. I think you parked in the quiet part of that bay, we ended up in the rammed car park, in fact I think we were right behind the bar, which turned out to be handy for the beach (and the bar 🤪). It was wonderful though - I'm glad it's still there, when we left we wondered if it would last.
It would be great to see you guys if we can, we do have family we need to spend time with as we didn't get much chance last time we popped by (and because, hopefully hopefully, we will be off abroad again soon after 🤞) but I'm hoping the paths align and we can sort something. Let us know when you're back and for how long and we'll go from there xx ❤️
@comealongdear Autumn in Spain is amazing.
We tried to park in the rammed carpark, which is where she 'should' have parked and did find a space, but a dog from a van next door, had a go at Bart, so that put me off and we decided it was worth the risk of getting the knock, to park in the huge carpark. Thankfully, all was well. We enjoyed the old school 90's dance music that the bar DJ was playing on the Sunday afternoon too. 🎶
We'll keep in touch and hopefully with the stars aligned and a favourable 🌬️ we can sort something out.
Much love, enjoy your family time. 😘💜🤟
Thankyou, enjoyed that one. Just crossed Torrevieja off the list, we're back to Nerja for a couple of weeks this week, leaving before the Nerja Fair, too noisy! Re. Benidorm, been there many times as a teenager (long time ago) and took my wife there the year after we got married. There are some quite amazing and scenic places in the area, just need to ask the locals and hop on a bus or the local train to get to them.
Hey Kevin,
We haven't visited the Nerja area yet, but friends of ours stay in the same villa near to Frigliana as often as they can. We would never get Perse up the hills to where they stay though. It looks stunning, so we'll be interested in hearing what you think later.
Thanks for the info about Benidorm. We may revisit the general area soon, so if you could share your suggestions, that would be great
Have fun in Nerja.
Much love 💜🤟
Nice vid, the lake looked fab. You mentioned your new camera being good in bad lighting situations, hope you don’t mind me asking what camera is it?
Hi,
It's a DJI Action 4. We used the GoPro Hero 10 prior to that (now just used for B-roll whilst driving etc). In full light, the GoPro is probably still a little better, but not in low light. We were using our phones (Pixel 7) for low light videos until we got the Action 4, but the audio on the phones wasn't great. With the Action 4 and the DJI Mic 2 together, it's a great set up for us, much more versatile. However, we have also just added a new little toy to our bag of goodies and bought the DJI NEO drone. We have yet to test its abilities, but on face value it seems to offer us everything we would want a drone for, for a fraction of the price, weight and size of others.
We don't mind you asking at all. We're happy to talk about any of our kit and what we think of it. Thanks for your comment. 💜🤟
Hi guys enjoy the pink lake don’t take any of the salt away it’s illegal now enjoy 😊
Hi Oliver,
We had a great time at the pink lake. We don't use much salt, so didn't even consider it, but thanks for letting us know for the future.
Much love 💜🤟
Torrevieja is now the fastest growing city in Spain, one of the most underrated cities and areas, moved here from Marbella Malaga area sold our house and bought much cheaper in Torrevieja, go to the beaches from la Mata to Guardamar it’s amazing
We hear that Marbella is one of the most expensive areas in Spain now. Is that true..? It seems that the beauty in Torrevieja is in the outlying areas.
Thanks so much for sharing your opinion. We love to hear what others think.
Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
The function of Torrevieja is to absorb the greatest number of foreigners possible so that they stay there in they Ghettos. Foreigners with no knowledge of Spain, no Spanish language and no interest beyond lying in the sun and eating their own food in their establishments.
@@findingxanadulife yes property prices are less than half in costa blanca compared to costa del sol and Malaga area is overly busy now, can’t even find a parking space in the shopping centres in summer 😭 we lived near Fuengirola between Malaga and Marbella
@sunnybeachwalks4k2022 That's mad. We'll avoid it for now then. We're not keen on super peopley places. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 💜🤟
How is Torrevieja British central😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have stayed down the road from Torrevieja in Playa Flamenca many times.
Have a friend with an apartment that I use.
Must say that Torrevieja isn't for me.
But just a 10 minute drive away the coast is lovely and there are some great beaches in La Zenia and Cabo Roig.
Only ever been in the shoulder season so people numbers not too bad, would imagine it all gets very busy in the height of the summer season.
Hi..!
We stayed overnight in a carpark near El Moncayo and the surrounding area was really nice. We took the walk to the beach, which also seemed lovely, although they didn't allow the dogs. I (Alison) could live in that area, but not in the city.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It's much appreciated.
Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
@@findingxanadulife if you want a proper mud bath experience go to the Banos de Lodo near to Los Cuarteros on the edge of the Mar Menor. You'll see a few flamingoes too.
@esarempee Oooh awesome recommendation..! Thank-you. I (Alison) have no idea how I managed to miss that when I was looking at the map and as the crow flies, we were so close to it. 🤦🏼♀️
Next time. 🤞🍀💜🤟
Mucho amor💜🤟
That cathederal at your last stop was very different construction materials.
Hey Paulette,
It was, it was different to anything that we've seen so far. It was very pretty. 💜🤟
@@findingxanadulife It's called Santuario Santa Magdalena at Novelda.
It was indeed. Thanks for your comment. 💜🤟
Did you save and salt from the pink lake?
Good morning Steven, Honestly, we didn't even think about it. We bought some salt from the salt pan village of Rio Maior, in Portugal, but we don't really use much salt. We're sure the locals probably do. 🤷🏼♀️💜🤟
.¿Alguna vez has estado ..?!?
Mucho amor 💜🤟
Ahí no, he estado en Calpe, Denia, Guadalest,Elche.Benidorm.😂 un abrazo.
Todavía no hemos estado en Elche, pero lo haremos en algún momento.😘💜🤟
The reason there are no ancient buildings in Torrevieja is because it was raised to the ground by an earthquake in 1829 and has been rebuilt since that time.
@davidevans267 That's great information, we didn't know that. Thank-you so much for sharing. 💜🤟
I'm not in the video with the balloon demonstrations too bad

That's my (Darren) fault. I completely forgot to record an explanation as to who you were etc, so sorry and I promise next time we meet on the road we will do something together for a video 🤟♥️
I think we'll pass on Torrevieja but definitely have breakfast and a swim at Playa De Corolina beach before everyone else gets there. And, maybe a dip in the Salt lake. Did you see any Flamingos? 🦩❤🤟
Hey Jo, Sadly no Flamingos 🦩, or Ostriches as I tried to call them. 🤦🏼♀️ They do have them there though, apparently. 💜🤟
