Thanks again for another top-notch video. Whenever I have a question about my e-bike (Engwe L20 SE) my first step is to check out your videos. You are my secret go-to guy so to speak.
Another informative vid Gee, I'm taking delivery tomorrow of a Q20 Pro, batteries seem decent enough and nobody really complaining about them in their videos so here's hoping.
I learned all this 6 years ago when I bought a KTM E-MTB with Bosch 36v 13ah batteries- never store fully charged, long term store at 40%, keep somewhere cool with stable temperature. If you do partially charge to say 80% then regularly you must take the batteries up to 100% (It takes 32 mins per 20% to charge from 0-80%, except the last 20 % at 80-100% that takes 90 mins and shows the slow balancing as each cell hits 100%)....Both my batteries have minimal degradation and I can still get almost the same distances for any level of assist. When I first got the bike the advice from everyone was "when you get home fully charge it"...WRONG!! Never charge a physically warm battery, likewise a charged battery needs to cool before use, and I only ever take the battery to 100% in the hour before I plan to use it so it's not sitting in a high state of charge.....And with the old "Semi integrated" no problem bringing them indoors and living in the Highlands there's a serious danger of them dying from sub zero if left outside in a shed. And on (rare) sunny days don't leave the bike/battery in the hot sun either, shade it if you are stopped somewhere for lunch etc....
@@BarrioBarranco1 depends on the length of time you’re storing the battery. 2 months doesn’t need any charging alteration … long term though you’re correct. Good post buddy.

I'm wondering how easy it is to put on a new BMS to a stock battery gone bad?. I have a battery that stopped charging and I bought a new charger. Wasted money. It was a bad BMS.
@ModProjects4306 I need a new case and bms for a battery on a Kepler that only has 1,500 miles on it. I will get those and do it over winter. Or have a local E Bike shop do it. Probably $200 or less. I did get a new one already that is better than the original. But I want to keep the old one. Probably an easy fix.

I keep my 2 bikes in the house after being out on them they get charged under supervision until full then stored under the stairs only had them 2 months one is a Engwe Engine and other is Fiddo Mini 3 Pro is this ok as I only have a small aluminium shed out back otherwise to store them
great information

I ride my Bosch equipped e-bike all year round. My range drops a little in wintertime but nothing like 50%.

I charge my battery inside of a Weber 26.75" kettle Grill. Lid on and vents closed. No way the battery can burn through this thick kettle grill.
