      Hi Mike, my camera is on 5.5.1.421 & now showing this error "This product is only userd in mainlaind china" ... & there is a link to Complain :)
      Any idea how to fix it?

    hello
    I have my Xiaomi IP Camera but i am unable to connect with NOS wifi.
    i started camera configuration process but whan camera start configuring with wifi, suddenly error message comes as : Connecting to network time out, connection error check network and retry.
    same camera is working on my friend's home perfectly but not on my wifi.
    can any one tell me what setting needs to be changed in wifi?

    Hi quick update on the Dafang situation, there is another firmware update today, so now when you try to connect the app will tell you that this product is not meant to be used outside china but it allows you to appeal by emailing your MAC address and purchase receipt (although it does say purchase receipt of an official Xiaomi sales channel). The only difference is that the new firmware does tell you something as opposed to just failing to connect

      Yeah i updated mine already and it seems for now the ones bought in the UK form Gearbest are going to be okay. At least for now

    Hi Mike, where i can find the original firmware (391) to download and the process (how to) to downgrade the firmware with an SD CARD? I cant find anywhere. Can you help me?

    Hi Mike, I carefully followed your advice but unfortunately the " connect timeout, confirm network patency and retry 1000" message is still there. I received my order last Friday and since then I couldn't use it... I think I already tried everything so far. Thanks a lot for sharing any additional tip that could help to fix that issue! Fingers crossed!..

      Can you try though a VPN service? And set the vpn to UK?

    hi, i just got my camera and updated the app and firmware. i am getting connection timed out after checking obstructed. i had not heard of all of this confusion, and am disappointed. if i got mine from ebay do i have a chance to get it white listed?

    I’ve tried the fixes but unfortunately it hasn’t resolved the issues. I have two cameras and they both went off together. I have firmware version 5.5.1.419. Any additional ideas would be much appreciated as they are great cameras when they work.

      When you installed the app did you get the android or ios app asking for permissions? also what country are you in?

    Hello, there is no option for Mainland China in this version, for both ios and android. The camera records, but it cannot be acessed online

      If there is no option for mainland China or China then you have the wrong app for this device. Or it maybe you are in a country that is totally geo blocked by the app.
      Are you IOS or Android and what country if you don't mind me asking? I should compile a list of totally locked regions

      @@mikesunboxing both ios and android apps have been originally installed as mainland china but now it only says china. It is set to china. When selecting hong kong or macao, there is no this camera on the list of devices. We are in serbia

    I finally got it to the point where "Connecting" starts which has a green dafang icon in middle of screen. But it won't go past "Step 1/3" and "Connection Timeout" is displayed and then a "RETRY". Can't get past this point though.

      some of these are now completely blacklisted and will not be able to connect regardless of the settings

      @@mikesunboxing Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. There seems to be some confusion out there in InternetLand regarding Xiaomi and their cameras.
      When you say 'some of these are now completely blacklisted' are you refering to 'some' of the DaFangs or you including other camera models made by Xiaomi.
      I suspect that I will have to go to the "mattresses" with the re-seller to get my money back. ;-)

      There were a lot of cameras sold on the grey market and xiaomi were under pressure from the companies that licensed the tech in those regions

      Did you try emailing them to get the Mac address unblocked? That is a good place to start

      yes it is latency :-) but the app says patency probably due to the translation or something. I had to keep the word in though for the search optimisation.

    I have upgraded the Mi Home app to 5.5.8, which is newer than the one shown in the video (which is 5.5.6). Although my location setting is China, I am still facing the same problem.

      From the Play Store. By the way, I forgot to say that I removed the old Mi Home app and I have installed the 5.5.8 version Mi Home app. Anyway, I am thinking that geo blocking is on. No matter what we do, we cannot do anything unless Mi has unblock the related mac addressed Dafang cameras

      One more observation. The version of the app is seen as 5.5.8 from the Play Store. However, the version of the app is seen as 5.5.9 from the Mi Home app itself. That's an interesting contradiction.

      Seems that Xiaomi have gone down the geo blocking for grey imports and clone devices to separate the ismart US and EU devices from the official Xiaomi devices. If you bought them from third parties like Ali express there is a good chance they will stop working

    Thank you! I was abe to connect the camera to the app, but when I tried to connect to the camera, I got this message: "Use only in mainland China. This product is only used in mainland China. Appeal. @2131100505". I have chosen China as my region. I don't have mainland China in my list.

    Its under PTZ > I translated it, it says Timing Calibration

      PTZ stands for Pan Tilt and Zoom, so this setting adjusts the PTZ speed so when tracking or moving it does it slower or faster, which in the slow mode can be better for babies etc as it is quieter.
      Although if you have the camera covering a wide area it may not pan quick enough to record the person walking.
      Does this make sense to you?

      Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to thanks for your reply but the speed is High Med Low. This one has a clock with only hours as selections. Are you looking at the right thing?

      @@just4therecord sorry my mistake. i can only assume a couple of things. one is a time check with the network clocks to keep a valid timestamp, or it does the calibration of the motors like it does on startup. I have just passed midday so i'll know in an hour 😉✔😍😎

    On April 1st 2019, I have sent email to feedback@hualaikeji.com by attaching the mac address of the camera. As today, my cameras have been unlocked. Although 10 days passed, I am able to reach to cameras now.

      You just send out the mac address, nothing more? I've sended an emal to that address with a photo of the mac-address of my camera 2 days ago, I will wait hoping that I may have the same luck.
