I just just replaced my rear struts. I found that you don't have to put the spring compressors on the spring to remove them from the car. As long as you push the control arm down, you can get the whole assembly free. Later on the table you can put the compressor(s) on to remove the strut and replace the components. Found this easier because not all compressors are the same and some might have difficulty getting compressors on while the assembly is still under the rear. Same to put on the car, remove the compressor(s) before putting them in place under the car.
I own a new 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Suspension seems very similar. The suspension seems too soft in the rear especially at 120 km/hr on bumpy roads (it's made like this). I would like to have somethings stiffer and/or adjustable. Should I think about installing an adjustable dampening shock or simply increase spring rate or both? Is there any bolt on kit made by KYB that I could install on 4 corners in order to have more dampening or manual adjustments until it reaches the feel I want? I knew KYB because I installed it on my previous Mustang 5.0 but those ones was OEM replacement only. For the Mitsubishi, it needs an upgrade - I am sure there is something that we could improve. Will these shocks give any kind of lift or is it the same height as stock?
No, these are standard replacement shock absorbers, same as original equipment.
