I'm in my second year now and pushing myself. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge. It's really helpful to me. I'm 58 and pottery is becoming my retirement job.
Martin - you talk about doing initial pulls on the "left hand" side, and pushing with a brace against your thigh. It looks like you're using the top of the palm of your outer hand. Can you go into more detail about what you're doing here with both hands? What should we feel for?
Yes, it's a blend of four local and regional "wild" clays that I used to prepare myself here, but now Starworks prepares the same blend. It's more expensive than doing it myself, but their equipment is way better and the clay is consequently more plastic and uniform.
Joe! What a presumptuous remark! Not only is Mark doing what he wishes to do, but is continuing the art of ceramics having young apprentices learn from him. Yes, they do help in the pottery and get some compensation. Nevertheless this is exceptionally generous. Please don’t assume that a person needs another type of ceramic endeavour.

@@peznin8720 sorry.. My panties were to tight
I think you are coming from what you would do if you were in Mark's shoes. You should visit his estate and the massive space he creates in.
