    It’s always nice to see some new shiny paint in the yard, it might take a few years to pay for itself but looked after should last a lifetime, great video James.

      Exactly Stephen. We will likely never have another rake unless we ever feel the need to go bigger. It’s made a huge difference already.

      Thanks Paul! Hope you got that silage okay! I used to hate sheeting up too, almost as bad as I sheeting on a wet winters day!

    Now that is one nice looking solid piece of kit. Pottinger equipment I’ve always liked the look of due to how solid they look. Keep up the great work!

      Thanks Kai! Sorry for the slow reply, it’s been nuts here! It’s a brilliantly built piece of kit as with all pottinger stuff! 👍

      Good call! I’ll keep my eyes on that one 👍 I think we can safely say it’s my job now though so definitely a donkey driving it. 😂😂

      The herbal ley smells amazing…. It’s like sweets! 🍭 starting to wonder why we didn’t have a rake sooner. 🙈

    8 for me, started shearing sheep and for the first time ever shawn 12 Finn X Texals, there big, heavy, and really wriggle !!!! I thought they were ment to be small not massive and heavy!!!🥵 Thankfully the rest are getting done on a different place by the shearing gang, 🙂👍 Then only 54 (so he said !!!) for someone because he had a heart attack, and he was struggling to find someone to shear them, despite there ment to be small and light (now were did I hear that one ???🤔), I need to find a video to try and remember how to shear the lighter sheep's belly, I've spent my shearing courier on large sheep that I had to adapt different ways compared to the kiwi method 🥴, especially the belly, really good looking rake there James !! Better design of the one I've used which was a pain in the A$$ to set for different widths,😤, enjoy your rake and do make zig zag rows with it !!!😁👍

    • @baldysfarm
      @baldysfarm  2 роки тому +1

      You find some breeds are wrigglier than other! For me it seems to be anything with really big pointy ears 😂 the belly is always the hardest part of shearing but if you get it right it makes everything else a hell of a it easier!
      As for the rake, I’m absolutely loving it. Wouldn’t be without it now!

      Very true James..... I found out over the years not to show frustrating onto them otherwise the rest will pick it up and make it impossible to shear as I found, talking of wriggler sheep, a guy was asked which sheep do you hate to shear?, And he said Dorset 's, not because their too woolly but because their too wriggle, I'm really glad someone else had the pleasure of shearing the ram!!!! 😄👍
