I hate how impersonal the supporting cast is now. Honestly Barry's team doesn't have any camaraderie or chemistry together. Cisco's gone. Caitlin's gone. Wells is gone. Even Joe is gone. No one likes Cecille. Chester and Allegra feels like Barry's employees, not his friends. Khione is annoying. I don't even know why Mark is there. Arrow had the right idea. They kept that core team of Oliver, Diggle, Felicity right until the end, because that's what worked. The "sidekick" characters felt like not only part of a close knit team, but Oliver's friends.
They usually worked together back in Seasons 1-3. Now it's either: Iris and Allegra Allegra and Chester Joe and Cecile Cecile and Allegra Chill Blaine and Khione(terrible) Barry and Iris Bro, they have like 4 different plots going on in ONE episode. And it's been this way since CRISIS.
@@ccelite3782 I usually don’t get caught up with bad acting but man most of the cast besides Grant the last 4 seasons just cant act with any real emotions. The show runners are trying their hardest to make the fans not want Grant to replace Ezra
Yeah that shook me like - what the hell? Caitlin - one of the original members of team flash and long time friend - just died and you guys are dancing. Like not even a moment to let it sink in? A toast in her honor? Just brush it off like whatever. These psychopaths are our heroes?
@@rojaedavis8367 I think the writers meant that to be symbolic. Now she is just reduced to a bland character with the mind of a child, but f*ckin Cecile is the most powerful meta in CC lol. She's so powerful that she let her husband and daughter move away while she lives in his house, now with allegra. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up in the same bed coz this is the CW. I think she has had more screen time than Barry this season 😂
Well, duh. Caitlin is like the gum stuck between your boot tread. You could scrape it out, but it's more trouble than it's worth, so you walk on and hope it wears off in time. Nobody is going to mourn the day it finally does. She should have left years ago. Like, first season. Episode one, preferably. Opening scene. Pre-title screen. That would have been best.
They could've spent the first few episodes on a Reverse Flash origin story that switches from present to future while setting up Colbalt Blue as one of the main villian but no we need more filler, a third Frost personality, and a ship between two characters no one cares about.
With the series being this close to ending, it makes absolutely no sense for a third personality to emerge and having to once again go over similar story beats of fitting in as Caitlyn and Frost had to do before
@@thebatman9628 true but he hasn’t interacted with at all or even met Barry/The Flash so it wouldn’t make toooo much sense for him as a Flash villain. Like what’s the motivation?
Regarding the whole "Challegra" stuff, I saw someone on the subreddit pointing out that everything with them is basically just Eric Wallace wanting to hookup with his OC. Like you mentioned, Allegra is a character that Wallace created, and in an interview he mentioned that Chester is essentially his self-insert in the story. So, we're literally watching Eric Wallace's fanfic relationship play out between his OC and his self-insert.
Why do all TV directors feel the need to fap to their TV show, like damn are you seriously that bad with getting women you feel the need to do this shit? I guess it's better than those even creepier rapey directors that are like "ah yes, this fully nude scene is for the plot, and if you don't do it you're fired."
@@trevturp6891 I would say after Season 3. I enjoyed Season 3. Season 4 was not that great but it had some great episodes. Season 5 was ok but they did Cicada dirty. Season 6? They fucked up Godspeed in the ass. I like Bloodwork though. Season 7? Trash. They did Godspeed dirty again. It had a few nice episodes but it was trash especially because of the forces are trash. Season 8 Armageddon was good. Barry was getting set up by Thawne. I like that plot and Still force Flash vs Negative force Thawne fight in the Season 8 finale. Season 9 absolute trash.
The Red Death could've been way cooler and a far bigger threat. We go closer to comic book canon where Red Death lost everyone, goes crazy, steals speed powers, then starts murdering villains. Then Red Death gets kicked out of their universe and dropped into this one. Instead of trying to get home or some stupid revenge, Red Death is crazy and decides to start cleaning up their new home timeline. We get a full anti villain Red Death with them still considering themselves a hero but just murdering rogues. Arrowverse is over after this season. Just give Red Death a kill count of loser rogues from other shows. Now we can have Rogue War. Red Death's side is the few Rogues that have pledged allegiance to Red Death in exchange for their lives. Barry's side is the Rogues that came begging to the Flash to stop the Red Death from killing them. Now we have stakes and drama. We can have Rogues known to not kill murder other Rogues to save their own skin. The classic is this a good form of justice conversation. Betrayals. Actually interesting TV. It's the last season, go out big.
@@InvitalPulse 😂😂 making Oliver red death really lame 😂😂 plus how you gonna make Oliver red death when he doesn’t have a doppelgänger 😂😂 plus they using Oliver for tomorrow
The rogue war would've been cooler if it was done years ago. That way we could have captain cold and heatwave join flash against weather wizard, trickster and mirror master or smth like that. Or if it was season 2 we could've had the earth 1 rogues vs the earth 2 rogues with flash and zoom leading both sides
Absolutely. I remember that after season 2 ended, while discussing who would be the season 3's Big Bad, lots of fans wanted a season in which "The Rogues" would be the main threat, and not a third speedster in a row. With both of the Tricksters, Pied Piper, Weather Wizard & Weather Witch, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Golden Glider, Captain Boomerang, Murmur (since he had not died in Arrow season 3, it would have been neat to give him his blood powers somehow during his stint in prison), Rainbow Raider (I really like the actor for some reason; I just think he's neat), Mirror Master & the Top, and Abra Kadabra... Maybe Gorilla Grodd too, depending on how he's handled? We could have had a nice lineup, and then during the season have the Rogues team fall appart because some were more "extreme" than the others; I would have had the Snart siblings + Mick Rory & Pied Piper be the "good rogues" against the others, who would be more willing to resort to killing massive amounts of people, capturing/killing kids, torturing people (I know that Captain Cold killed people and tortured Cisco's brother, but he could have a change of heart mid-season) Once again, I think Grodd could have been the leader of the "evil rogues", depending on how he's handled and what his goals are. A season 3 of *The Flash* with the Rogues at the main antagonists would have been a nice change of pace after 2 seasons with really cool speedsters as the Big Bads. Reverse Flash and Zoom are some of my favorite Arrowverse villains, it's just that having non-speedsters for the third season wold have been a good change of pace, and would have made Savitar seem like a bigger threat for season 4 instead of the "speedster fatigue" that we got. Sorry about the long post, got a bit carried away there...
@@randallflagg3700 that would've been much better than what we got. Instead of these d tier rogues we would've actually gotten the best rogues fighting against each other. Grodd leading the bad ones kinda reminds me of his role in injustice 2 icl with him being the leader of the society which had reverse flash and captain cold
I like the idea of two groups of Rogues fighting each other, but the problem here is the villains that they chose are not exactly the most memorable and likeable villains in the entirety of the show and Arrowverse. Here's what I would have gone: For the Rogues as Flash's side... - Captain Cold (as it is rather unclear if Snart is dead or not in the new timeline of Earth-Prime) - Gorilla Grodd - Heat Wave (since Mick has left the Legends) - Pied Piper As for the Red Death's Rogues... - Weather Wizard - Captain Boomerang II - Rainbow Raider - E-3 James Jesse/Trickster
@@oliverqueen474 i was actually thinking what if on Earth-Prime James Jesse is now an amalgated version of both his E-1 and E-3 counterparts where he wears a similar outfit to the latter while retaining the background of the former
@@JoelMiller431 So basically just earth 1 trickster with an updated suit? They could easily explain that lmao. No need to merge 2 different versions, lol.
@@wyattlundrigan4740 or the other way around, but yeah. It honestly would be an interesting Post-Crisis change since most of the changes we've seen are either like different timeline histories, new locations (Flash 6x13), or different people with a familiar alias and power set Pre-Crisis
The “lets get nuts” line works well in the movie. Cause he’s trying to act weird and crazy to antagonize the Joker so he can get shot, make them think he died, then come back as batman. It works because the craziness is supposed to be what they are going for
what makes caitlyns "death" worse is that she alive in the future (accounrding top one of the wriiters, eric wallace i think?) they kill her just to bring her back btw theyre defo bringing her back on the last episode
Saw comments pointing out that Red Death was supposed to have a bigger body count than Zoom, yet they basically killed nobody. If you wanted them to feel like an actual threat, they could have killed Caitlyn, THEN they try to bring Caitlyn back and in doing so they create her third personality, Khione.
I would move the red dead arc to season 8 , where it’s titled all negative , while thawne is moved to the final season for that’s how it comes in full circle with him being there from the beginning to the end
The Cecile conflict is so annoying because in that same episode, they use teleportation, which means that the distance they put between themselves or the city does not matter. This storyline was brought to you by the writers that took a simple concepts from the comics and turned them into Barry and Iris's "kids" (the forces). Still makes me cringe to this day. There was a point Grant refered to Khione as Caitlin and I think that was an accident. The whole character is a mess though.
I still don't understand why the "Forces" called Barry and Iris their parents. They just got their powers from an event they created right? Just like how Thawne-Wells' accelerator mishap led to all the metas in season 1? I don't understand why you refer to someone as your parents just because they gave you supernatural(?universal?) strength. That's like Quicksilver calling the Hydra scientists in Age of Ultron "mom and dad" cuz they gave him his speed. Or even if Barry called Thawne-Wells his dad for the same reason. Makes no sense.
Red Death’s movements in full costume suffers from something I call “Sid The Science Kid Syndrome” it happens mostly in video games and some mocapped media but it’s where someone overacts their entire appearance when they’re body is fully covered
Quick Change of The Storyline to Make it 10 Times better. Red Death is Oliver Queen’s Rage from Spectre energy and he is killing as many criminals as possible S1 style, then for the Final Battle The Flash would connect to the humanity in Oliver, but Red Death does something that makes him have to sacrifice himself and Boom. This makes you care about Red Death and shows him having a connection to Barry.
Yeah, I would say have Captain Cold (Time Displaced), Heatwave, Pied Piper, and Gold Face vs Captain Boomerang, Weather Wizard, Trickster I, and Chilbane
@@councilmanbanks6528 i get what you mean. I meant flash rounding up the remaining few villains he has to try and find out who the red death character is and all. Basically everyone versus a Oliver red death character
Nah. That’s not even Red Death. What we got wasn’t too much like Red Death, but closer than this. Zoom is honestly a better Red Death than they made Red Death.
@@NeonWafflez707 a 1 to 1 would mean the show would have to treat Wally better. You can’t really go rogue war properly without Wally being the main flash, his relationship with Zoloman, the other rogues. It’s all stuff this show has failed to do (I mean Barry appearing near the end of rogue war was a big moment in the show all we have is Barry)
I actually liked the idea of Cicada but he was piss poorly executed. He got way too many times in fight with Flash and run away because they didn't know what to do with him for next 15+ episodes, and at one point it became laughable how they Megatron the shit out of him.
@jasonadersonwedion9874 Sorry to tell you but they can't make the show good after They ruined the show, Cisco, Caitlin, Frost, Wallywest, Green Arrow, Supergirl, Reverse flash, Joe etc is gone, one of the best actors.
You nailed EVERYTHING. I completely agree with your opinions on the supporting characters (especially Cecile), the Red Death arc, Barry, the writing, everything. I don’t like being negative, but I believe in being honest, and there are many things that have obviously gone wrong with this show. It’s just baffling that the writers/staff don’t see it. I don’t think have to be a genius to see that some things just aren’t working, and it feels like the people who are making these decisions have never been exposed to this show or even to the character of The Flash. Thank you for expressing my own thoughts much more eloquently than I ever could. This just earned you a subscribe.
I love how you’re still going in on them for this 😂😂 I feel the exact same way like idk what Eric Wallace was thinking, but this is not how you open a final season of a fan favorite show on CW.
I don't think I can explain the reaction I had when I saw this was published 2 weeks ago when I was living perfectly content believing this show had ended *years ago* I honestly can't believe it's still going
I will never forgive Wallace what he did to Godspeed. He fucked Godspeed in the ass made it into a star wars fight. He clearly hadn't read Godspeed in the comics. If Eric Wallace truly cared about The Flash. He would've given us a very badass speedster running fight without Thawne involved.
Thank you! The first episode really encompassed why I’m not too big a fan of Barry Allen. Its season 10 and his powers are still making him do beyond dumb things
Maybe this was Eric Wallace plan. He knew fans did not like iris or westallen as much as he does so maybe getting rid/putting down side characters to make barry and iris look like the only good thing about flash.
I didn't even remember that Cecile has been in the show since season 03. I think that's how it should be for these forgettable side characters. She shouldn't be as important to the story as some of the main side characters such as Cisco or Kaitlyn or Joe etc. She should have remained one of those occasional appearance character who is generally likable and then forgotten by the audience due to the greater events surrounding the main characters. I don't know why they decided to shove her in so much in the show and even decided to give her unnecessary powers and then made her even stronger and now she gets her own dedicated filler episodes? Is the actress a relative of the showrunner or what? Or does she have some dirt on Eric Wallace? Because there's no way someone is as dumb as Eric to involve her so much in a story. Also, the worst part is that she is the opposite of what storytelling should be, to show and not tell. Cecile is a weird character who just.. tells you about stuff characters are going through. Imagine them talking things through and developing as acharacter etc.
I had a pretty good plot twist, what if Ryan is missing and while we are thinking its Ryan as Red Death it turns out to be Ruby Rose's Kate Kane Batwoman. Now that would be a good plot twist
That would be cool but the problem is that I don't think Ruby Rose would want to return. I think if they went with that option they would bring back Wallis Day
The best part was near the ending of Part two when Batperson says "If you need me, you know where to find me" and my mind replied "Yeah at the bottom of the TV ratings list.
Here's how I would have fixed the Red Death arc: First have Bruce Wayne played by Warren Christie be the Red Death instead. For 2 reasons. 1) because Javicia Leslie overacted in her role and she didn't come across as a menacing threat. Some actors just aren't able to pull off an evil version of themselves. And 2) it would help give proper closure to Batwoman because the main story of that season was trying to figure out what happened to Bruce Wayne so having him be Red Death could answer a few of those questions. I would have be that after Bruce Wayne killed the Joker that's when he became the Red Death in secret killing criminals around the world and Team Flash has only just discovered it since Kate Kane left Gotham to find Bruce Wayne. Has for how and why Bruce becomes Red Death whether it's mind control by Rainbow Raider, split personality after murdering the Joker or something else is up for your interpretation. I also bring back Wallis Day as Kate Kane and maybe if we have room bring back Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox. I would have Episode 1 introduce the entire Rogues team as a whole with Weather Wizard replacing Fiddler 2.0 because he's more popular and is one of the original Season 1 metahumans. Barry's Rogue team would instead be composed of Leo Snart (Earth X version), Heatwave, Golden Glider and Hartley Rathaway. Barry assembling his Rogue team would in either Episode 1 or 2 and we would get more fight scenes with both Rogue factions during the arc. They save Bruce Wayne, he returns to Gotham as Batman and now will work alongside with both Batwomen. Chillblaine would either die or have him be permanently evil so I could get rid of him (Oh also he doesn't become a main cast member.) Ryan, Kate and Luke would be introduce earlier so we could more interactions and team up moments with The Flash. Chester and Allegria become a couple immediately within the first episode no drawn out will they, won't they storyline that eats up screen time. Cecile leaves with Joe so that way I can remove her from the main cast. Grodd would be omitted since he doesn't do a lot and isn't that important. Khione would not exist, Caitlin doesn't die offscreen and instead it would be about Caitlin trying to work with the team again and try to cope with living a life with Frost in it. (Now you might be saying "But Marcelino Season 8 ended with a new version of Caitlin being created how do you make sense of it and line it up with Season ?" And my response to that would be "Well Titans Season 2 ended Blackfire being set up as the next main villain and when Season 3 came along Blackfire was completely retconned to be imprisoned in a secret lab and wasn't even a villain for Season 3. So I think Flash can follow that same route and no one would care and nothing would be loss.) I do agree that Oliver Queen becoming Red Death would be more impactful and would have been a better option than what we got but I personally think they should have brought better closure to Batwoman. Batwoman never got the chance to close out any remaining storylines since it got canceled abruptly so giving that storyline would have brought better closure not only to Batwoman but would have been celebration for Arrowverse fans since Season 9 is the Arrowverse's last season
Watched a handful of your vids and got reminded how much I was into the Cw shoes and how they had the greatest rise and steepest fall. Like remember legends of tomorrows first two seasons? Goated in my opinion

I haven't watched the flash in, 5 years. Used to be my favorite show. I clicked to see how the final season is going Once again, seems I got off at about the right time
Y'know the quote "Criminals are a superstitious and cowardly bunch." could have worked had they kept Red Death actually intimidating. It could have been used as a dark twist to the source material as while Batman uses the myth and fear to apprehend criminals, Red Death could use them to control them and force them to work under her own warped sense of justice, essentially masking as a god to them who makes consistently aware how easy it would be to kill them or their love ones for disobedience. Of course I haven't thought it all out but that's a thought I had for a while.
Ngl I was okay with the flashbacks as I just stopped watching after season 6 so it helped with some explanations. But everything else was so gosh darn awful, also for Iris I feel like her ranking should be based on pre “We are the Flash” and post “We are the Flash.
Definitely the worst supporting cast the show has ever had. Cecile, Allegra, Chester, Mark, and khione alone make the show unwatchable, let alone the terrible writing, lackluster plots, and mediocre storylines.
I had stop watching after the whole Nora daughter season, but heard this was the last season, so I wanted to see what's going on. I was disappointed. Most of it was background noise for me, so I thought I missed something or something was on repeat. Thank you for this video, now I know it wasn't just me, the whole last episode were forgettable.
Comic Red Death is Barry possessed/merged against his will with an evil Batman, where the Flash is still a hero but has no influence. If they were faithful to the comics they wouldn’t have to cast anyone else or even mention Batman, just imply it with the symbol. What’s the point of adapting a character when all you keep is the costume?
I gotten several arguments with people regarding why they should not have brought that woman in as red death and their argument was because Batman was originally red death and he was never in the Arrow verse but still they could have made a much smarter casting choice for this villain especially one that was supposed to be the deadliest in Central City history and they could have easily went with Eddie Thawne or even Steven Ammel who played Arrow as a big twist and at least it would have been more interesting than what we ended up with. Eric Wallace has destroyed what little credibility was remaining for this series and it's beyond a disappointment!!!! 😑
You said it yourself with the power rangers thing. Yea, that's what the show feels like but to me it has felt that way for much longer. Like as early as Season 3. Its one of those things that you can't unsee once you see it.
Everytime i hear the pr thing i shutter cause power rangers has some better thought out writing and action (post mighty morphin) more than often. Cheezy for sure but they make it work unlike flash or some other cw shows
I love the writing for Barry and Iris this season. However everyone else could be dropped and it would only make the show better. Hopefully we have Barry operating solo before the end of the series.
This is honestly what i would’ve set up from the infinite crisis to now. I’d bring zoom back in infinite crisis Now if he was an unseen background character that actually could work as the monitor could’ve brought him back possibly kill a Sup and then have Kara or Barry rage out and actually kill him. This would then set up for a mental spiral of the flash that actually sets up the S8 flash central crossover. Though instead of it being a alternate timeline it’d be for real truly. We’d then see the other heroes actually fight him. This would set up a passing of the Torch for Wally when he comes back and has to actually kill his “Brother”. There we could move into S9 as Barry is buried next to his mother and Father with Iris with a baby bump and talking to a slightly more mature and grizzled Wally with a Beard. The two surviving siblings would then talk about and debate on whether or not to go back in time. The death of the flash would actually cause a partial timeline reset as we’re told multiple times time is like a flowing stream of water. You can punch, kick or even move the water but it’s still moving linearly after fixing itself. This would then have Nora and Bart come back after they phased out of existence for a few minutes then return. That would be my set up for S9 orS8 This would give a more realistic and cohesive start. This would also make the idea of RF’s plan happening but not the way he wanted. See RF always wanted to be Barry’s greatest enemy and kill him himself but he didn’t realize him meddling with time is what created Barry and his circumstances in this way.
Dude, fr “embarrassing” is an extreme understatement. Coming from one of the most die hard Flash Fans (with my profile pic, Flash emblem tattoo, multiple Flash apparel, and had The Flash emblem on one of my vehicles).
Hear me out. What if Joe became Red Death? In Another Universe, iris is killed by savitar or one of the other Speedster villains. I say savitar because he was the one who was destined to kill Iris, I'm aware that he's probably only one version of him exist. A grief-stricken Joe pleads with Barry to run back in time and save Iris, but thanks to Flashpoint he refuses. Through some sort of pseudoscience bullcrap that I can't even imagine because I'm not the writer, Joe steals Barry's Speed and starts running to save Iris. All of the flashes allies try to stop him, but because he was there since the very beginning he knows how to take all of them out easily. When he takes out Batwoman, he remembers a few of his cop buddies telling stories about the Batman. So he takes on the cowl and where's the bat as a symbol of vengeance.
The death of Caitlin and arrival of Khione appears to me to be a direct attempt to replicate the 'shake up the show' affect the death of Fred and arrival of Illyria had on Angel season 5 back in the day. The difference was that Fred's death was perfectly used to explore the different characters reactions to the consequences of their choices in the final season and set them up for the final arc. In Flash it's hollow, there seems to be no purpose to the arc and no impact on the core characters. Ironically, Caitlin occupied a very similar role in the show as Fred did in Angel, and her death could have been effectively used the same way.
Crazy how this show and Arrowverse as a whole was hyped up like crazy, and now it and even the mcu post endgame (with the exception of Spider-Man) are an afterthought
Good things don't last forever. This show should've ended at season 4. Grant was pretty much done after season 7, there was an interview where he looked like he was about to leave the room... Let's hope the Flash movie will live up to expectations.
I'd like to point out that the Caitlin/Kion thing is a complete ripoff of the Fred/Illyria storyline from Angel. Right down to the exact same streaks of blue in her hair.
@@Rieky22y’all are idiots cecile is a good character she’s written poorly when they could make her story line or arc meaningful that’s a the difference
I personally believe they could’ve left red death being Bruce. In elseworlds they mentioned offhandedly “the Batman” if they kept it like that I think they could’ve made it work. And no Bruce outta the suit just leave the villain as he is in the suit menacing voice and all. 1. It leaves a more mysterious vibe 2. Barry would be scared shitless of Batman Idk I just know the writers could have easily made this arc 1000x better if they just… thought about the story🤷♂️
Red death in comics from what I remember, was an evil batman that fused with barry by strapping him to a modified bat mobile and thats how red death came to be.
The red death - Makes no impact on Barry, isn’t intimidating, doesn’t require Barry to do anything new to beat her, just does one day, and has a bad performance. Compare it to zoom - Kills barry’s father and kickstarts flashpoint, is intimidating and can beat barry to a pulp for most of the season, requires barry to ask thawne for help, creates a personal connection with our Barry, is performed extremely well by Teddy Sears and TT. If it were to be redone you need to make the red death more imposing by having her beat barry legitimately, have her take leverage over other characters and have the upper hand for most of the story, have her perform well, and honestly just be more memorable
Imagine if Red Death was actually Batman idgaf if they already have Batwoman everyone wants Batman like What were they thinking This isn’t Red Death this is Red Cringe
I honestly believe that Ryan was cast as Red Death instead of Bruce Wayne as a way for the writers of Batwomen to give one last "@#$% you!" to the haters of their show. And the way Chester simps for her only adds weight to that theory.
How I would rewrite this season- Instead of doing the bullshit 'face reveal' of the villain halfway through the season, I would do it in episode 1. Hear me out guys. The season would be about 12 episodes long with no filler episodes. Episode 1- Starts off with the battle of Batwoman or Green Arrow with The Flash. The episode would end with either Arrow or Batwoman stabbing Barry and stealing his speed. To clear confusion, the story would be about Red Death but instead of Bruce, it would be either Batwoman or Oliver Queen. At this point, the audience will be kept in the dark and won't have any idea about what is going on, everyone (who are not aware of Red Death's origin from the comics) will be led to believe that Flash died in the opening episode of the season. Episode 2- This episode would begin with Team Flash of Earth Prime fighting off some random villains on their own, the audience will wonder if Barry is actually gone for good. Suddenly, enters Flash and saves the day. A portal opens, another Flash from an another Earth enters, falling to the ground immediately, Barry goes to help, only to notice an Arrow or a Batarang, which looks different from the Arrows used by Oliver Queen of Prime Earth or Batwoman's Batarang. The wounded Flash warns Barry about the upcoming threat, and dies in his arms. Scene cuts to (Arrow or Batwoman) going through the multiverse, hunting down Flash of every universe so that no one stands in their way and that they can finally (once and for all) kill every criminal in the world without anyone of their power level interfering. Episode 3- Team Flash starts contacting other universes as Barry finds himself being unable to dimension travel due to an unknown reason. Chester goes through actual development when he finds himself unable to create bullshit tech device needed for the plot to move forward. Barry helps Chester and they work on the device together. Iris and Allegra are investigating a series of murder and Cecile has a small scene of defending one of the now turned good rogues. Barry and Chester almost succeed when they are interrupted by a city wide lightning storm. In comes the Red Death, either with a Bat symbol or the Arrow symbol. Episode 4- Very similar to OG seasons of The Flash, with blood, a menacing villain, a great first fight scene reminding the hero that he cannot save the world alone. Red Death absolutely humiliates Barry, but just as she/he was about to finish Barry, some bullshit plotarmor saves him etc etc. This is taking a lot of time, but this is pretty much how I would go with the basic plot if I was writing the show.
What i hate about the flash is that the only thing the directors are good at is having good actors but ruining them because of the writing I'm telling you if they recast even one person any person in this show the ratings would be a flat 00000000000 like it was better to keep Ralph of screen than recast him like they get these good actors and just WASTE THEM I swear
One thing that dissapointed me was The red death could of been a reborn version of future barry/savitar back because of timeline shenanigans due to armageddon or crisis but we got a disapointing version of ryan the last time i was this disapointed was when they said thawne would come back with a new face not as well but then came back as wells even though i hoped he would come back as Eddie wearing the face of the man who died for nothing a man who's sacrfice was meaningless just pointing to barry's faliures of not saving anyone when truly needed and his constant failure to stop Thawne once and for all. Also I agree the shows writing treats the viewer as they were kids which is strange as its aimed at adult audiences while the dcau aimed at kids which is what i grew up with gave complex storylines that are honestly for adults i mean the whole debate where green arrow admits deep down he is scared of his fellow heroes and actually states he does want the government to have a bunch of super powered weapons to keep the justice league in check. then there was the scene superman a person refered to as a god among man a paragon of goodness is shown to be just a man when he says good to when he finds out brainiac is assimalating apokolips which shows he wishes for the demise of the man (Darkseid) who manipulated, used and humilated him through mind control to attack and enslave his adopted home world causing him to lose the trust of the people of earth which is someting i wanted from the flash when they were deciding Thawnes fate but chester and alegra talked out than joe gave a rant that they should save thawne heven he will try to kill them all later. Also the whole Superman Apokolips debacale where he was mind controled led to even more problems such as Professor Hamilton someone who trusted superman be shown that he is just a dangerous man with powers not a guardian angel sent to help as his life is being threated by Superman to be forced in a situation where he has to operate on supergirl even though he could be court martialed for helping superman which means nothing to superman as long as he got what he wants showing Hamilton that superman is not an angel but someone who would put his desires before the situations of others.. one of my personal favorites when superman is sent to the future where vandal savage is the sole survior of the human race showing how vandal's ambition and goals in the end destoryed him leaving him an empty man viewing the act of doing anything is meaningless and don't get me started of the return of the joker that was a truly dark.
I also don’t like how he never goes through his decisions. His mind is changed by a pep talk. I want him to make a decision and face the consequences a bit more like with flashpoint. He doesn’t feel like his own hero. It’s like he literally took “we are the flash” to heart.
I honestly don’t even like Barry anymore, his not the same person I knew, guy didn’t even blink when Caitlin died, frost was more of a team mate than his actual friend
My constant issue with The Flash since season 6 or 7 is that the show isn’t about Barry anymore. Instead the flash is a side character in his own show Moët of the time for constant filler episodes. The only good episodes we do get are when Grant Gustin is actually given the chance to act
Maybe similar to how 2 doppelgangers can't exist together post crisis (AS SHOWN ON BAT WOMAN, if I remember correctly through Alice/Beth) and super girl through brainy we could of had both versions effected. Maybe show the evil speedster version trap the regular one somehow and that was Iris' ark. Throw in Allegra to that sub plot so she doesn't feel useless and make it all come together
I thought the Red Death was supposed to be this menacing character clad in crimson red tinted suit made with what seems to be metal armor segments with bats instead of lighting effects

I feel so validated after you said it was like watching Power Rangers. I'd never seen The Flash before, and I was visiting family who happened to put an episode on. I honestly couldn't believe how bad it was. I've seen better episodes of Power Rangers. Went down a rabbit hole to show my girlfriend how bad it was, and found your video. 😂
Yes, i agree with some of your comments. Season 9 feels hasty made. It feels as if season 9 should have been. Season 9 Red Dead arc. Season 10 cobalt arc. And that because Grant Gustin didn't want to do season 10. They shorten the built up of Cobalt and Red Dead. Too fit everything in season 9. It felt too much. I still liked season 9. It is not the best season overall.
The Flash has such a talented cast, an award-winning cast... They don't need Cecile transmitting their feelings to the audience... they can do it on their own. WHY IS CECILE????????????? Every goddamn time the plot is having any nuance, Cecile is there to flat it back down. She has an active role in this task
I think it's hilarious how Red Death was set up in S5 and the news said HE had a bigger bodycount than ZOOM. NO BODIES WERE DROPPED.
actually hundreds of thousands were. we only get to see one onscreen but she told us flat-out that she's killed thousands of criminals
Season 5 not 4
@@KuroAceVT You can't make a villain seem like a threat by saying they killed loads of people offscreen then have them kill nobody onscreen.

The problem is the Cisco and wells actors wanted to leave to do other things. Problem with that is both haven’t done much since leaving😢
They usually worked together back in Seasons 1-3.
Now it's either:
Iris and Allegra
Allegra and Chester
Joe and Cecile
Cecile and Allegra
Chill Blaine and Khione(terrible)
Barry and Iris

@@ccelite3782 ironically the 4 plus plots per episode are equally uninteresting

@@rojaedavis8367 I’m betting that this is because Caitlin isn’t actually dead and will get a reveal that she’s like somewhere else

@@ccelite3782 that seems to be Eric Wallace’s mindset to a tee
In else world it's stated that Bruce Wayne been missing for 3 years, him becoming red death is a perfect reason for him being missing.

Like you mentioned, Allegra is a character that Wallace created, and in an interview he mentioned that Chester is essentially his self-insert in the story. So, we're literally watching Eric Wallace's fanfic relationship play out between his OC and his self-insert.

Go out big? Nah, this being the final season apparently means add more filler. I’m glad it’s a shorter season.
Red Death should have been an Oliver Queen variant, not a Ryan Wilder variant who they don't even know really.

I like that, what looser rouges you thinking?
We could have had a nice lineup, and then during the season have the Rogues team fall appart because some were more "extreme" than the others;
I would have had the Snart siblings + Mick Rory & Pied Piper be the "good rogues" against the others, who would be more willing to resort to killing massive amounts of people, capturing/killing kids, torturing people (I know that Captain Cold killed people and tortured Cisco's brother, but he could have a change of heart mid-season)
Once again, I think Grodd could have been the leader of the "evil rogues", depending on how he's handled and what his goals are.
I like the idea of two groups of Rogues fighting each other, but the problem here is the villains that they chose are not exactly the most memorable and likeable villains in the entirety of the show and Arrowverse.
Here's what I would have gone:
For the Rogues as Flash's side...
- Captain Cold (as it is rather unclear if Snart is dead or not in the new timeline of Earth-Prime)
- Gorilla Grodd
- Heat Wave (since Mick has left the Legends)
- Pied Piper
As for the Red Death's Rogues...
- Weather Wizard
- Captain Boomerang II
- Rainbow Raider
- E-3 James Jesse/Trickster
Why the E-3 Trickster? The E-1 version is perfectly fine.
@@oliverqueen474 i was actually thinking what if on Earth-Prime James Jesse is now an amalgated version of both his E-1 and E-3 counterparts where he wears a similar outfit to the latter while retaining the background of the former

EVERY villain from Season 1 is memorable. I can damn near name them in ORDER.
The “lets get nuts” line works well in the movie. Cause he’s trying to act weird and crazy to antagonize the Joker so he can get shot, make them think he died, then come back as batman. It works because the craziness is supposed to be what they are going for
Precisely!
The cw dc verse isn’t fit to lick Michael Keaton’s Batman’s boots

If you wanted them to feel like an actual threat, they could have killed Caitlyn, THEN they try to bring Caitlyn back and in doing so they create her third personality, Khione.
I would move the red dead arc to season 8 , where it’s titled all negative , while thawne is moved to the final season for that’s how it comes in full circle with him being there from the beginning to the end
While the cobalt blue could be leading to thawne being the final villain or move his story to an earlier season
in the first few seasons, I absolutely loved Joe. He was one of my favourite characters, it's such a shame that he's so insignificant now
He is responsible for giving us Iris, so f' him
The Cecile conflict is so annoying because in that same episode, they use teleportation, which means that the distance they put between themselves or the city does not matter.
Could have the mini rouge war in there with barry recruiting villains to figure out whose targeting them
Yeah, I would say have Captain Cold (Time Displaced), Heatwave, Pied Piper, and Gold Face vs Captain Boomerang, Weather Wizard, Trickster I, and Chilbane
@crimZon 16 I like the idea of Rouge War from the comics but I don’t think Red Death should work with Rouges

I cannot believe they even attempted to do a Red Death arc given how dark the character has to be

Red Death going from cool, kind of scary character while being a cgi shadow, to angry kid who watched batman movies - it was awful.
The writers should genuinely not do anymore writing for anything
I will never forgive Wallace what he did to Godspeed. He fucked Godspeed in the ass made it into a star wars fight. He clearly hadn't read Godspeed in the comics. If Eric Wallace truly cared about The Flash. He would've given us a very badass speedster running fight without Thawne involved.
Honestly he just wanted to use their names and suits but not their actual characters
His plan seems more putting down entire show.
🤮
Still would be terrible they can’t act to save their lives 😂😂
That would be cool but the problem is that I don't think Ruby Rose would want to return. I think if they went with that option they would bring back Wallis Day
The best part was near the ending of Part two when Batperson says "If you need me, you know where to find me" and my mind replied "Yeah at the bottom of the TV ratings list.
Here's how I would have fixed the Red Death arc:
First have Bruce Wayne played by Warren Christie be the Red Death instead.

If this was the Final Season the Choices are Easy, the Flashbacks that makes Arrow Flashfowards Solid are to Be Cut for More Screentime the Same can go with the First Episode making Chester and Allegra a Official Couple than waiting 5 Episodes, make Cecile Leave the Show with Joe and Jenna, bring Back Cisco,Ralph,Wally,Jesse, and Harry to One Final Season,Kill Chillblame, make a Full Arc Season, make Grood and Other Characters Villains Again if they are meant to be Unredeemable,do Clever Writing,Make Red Death either Oliver As a Negative Side Effect of the Negative Speed Force as a Back Up Plan Ever Since Crisis or Red Hood that Fused Himself with Godspeed, and Bring Back the Most Important Characters and Villains that We Love the Series For Years,HA HA HA HA HA HA OHOHOHO OFCOURSE We aren’t getting Any of Than this is Eric Wallace We are Talking About,He Doesn’t give a Damn for the Flash or his Lore other than his Selfish Needs because Calling this Arc Rogue Wars show How Little He cares for the Rogues even since Season 6 Yes the Good Ones are Fun but the feel Wasted and Dirty,Cecile is a Terrible Character that She’s Now the Worst One that Other than Eric Wallace We Don’t want nor Need Her,the Chester and Allegra Store is as Pointless as Cecile,Chillblame is Nothing More that a Iceman Clone that makes me want to See Ralph Dibny Return,Grant is a Great Flash but there’s A lot of Moments that feel’s Out of Character,Red Death did Absolutely Nothing that Is a Mediocre as Savitar and Tries to be as Intimidating as Zoom but Failed Horribly Acting like Rita Rapulsa and the Wicked Witch of the West with a Armor that’s too Bulky that it would have been better if the Metal was a Nano Weapon, and Khione,If this was the Direction they were Heading then I Wish Frost Had Live and Caitlin Died on Season 8 of Made Killer Frost Evil Permanently in Season 3 making Caitlin Gone Forever because this Character was a Huge Mistake for Wallace and the Actress that if Khione Becomes the Life Force would make it Even Worse, and don’t Get Me Started on the Useless Dialogues and Story Structure as is as Awful as Well, all in All this Arc makes me Think the Final Season Will Be The Worst.
Sir this is a Dairy Queen
Red death fell flat from the get go because Barry never knew like that. It shouldve been Oliver or not at all
I haven't watched the flash in, 5 years. Used to be my favorite show. I clicked to see how the final season is going
Once again, seems I got off at about the right time
Same here.
Never let Erick Wallace near another film again
Red death probably has the worst motivation in a supervillain I've ever seen
I just couldn’t take Red Death seriously after she had a tantrum when the treadmill was destroyed
Grodd should have been the main bad in the whole red death ark.
Cheezy for sure but they make it work unlike flash or some other cw shows
@@crimzon16 Unless it’s seasons like Operation Overdrive or Super Megaforce
@@LucasHopkins2006 even those seasons had at least one legit bad ass moment. (Once a ranger)
6:35 that’s just called being self aware
Coming from one of the most die hard Flash Fans (with my profile pic, Flash emblem tattoo, multiple Flash apparel, and had The Flash emblem on one of my vehicles).
of course they had to take the least liked CW character and give her one last hurrah as the ethnically diverse crimson unlife.
DC animation does what the live action don't.
Eric flipping Wallace… More of a villain than Reverse Flash… Single handedly destroyed the show.
Whatever happened at @2:39 scared the shit out of me
I started cackling when I saw how Red Death ran, it looks so funny like no wonder she is slower than flash her running style is high knees
It’s not that Cecile is the worst character. She’s the worst-WRITTEN character. There’s a difference.
What’s the difference???
Literally the same thing lmao.
Did that really make sense in your head
@@Rieky22y’all are idiots cecile is a good character she’s written poorly when they could make her story line or arc meaningful that’s a the difference
True
I personally believe they could’ve left red death being Bruce. In elseworlds they mentioned offhandedly “the Batman” if they kept it like that I think they could’ve made it work. And no Bruce outta the suit just leave the villain as he is in the suit menacing voice and all.
1. It leaves a more mysterious vibe
2. Barry would be scared shitless of Batman
Idk I just know the writers could have easily made this arc 1000x better if they just… thought about the story🤷♂️
Red death should have been season 5 Nora lol
Imagine if Red Death was actually Batman idgaf if they already have Batwoman everyone wants Batman like What were they thinking This isn’t Red Death this is Red Cringe
The show should have ended in season 4 or 5.
I honestly believe that Ryan was cast as Red Death instead of Bruce Wayne as a way for the writers of Batwomen to give one last "@#$% you!" to the haters of their show. And the way Chester simps for her only adds weight to that theory.
They literally have high school kids writing these scripts
How I would rewrite this season-
Instead of doing the bullshit 'face reveal' of the villain halfway through the season, I would do it in episode 1. Hear me out guys. The season would be about 12 episodes long with no filler episodes.
Episode 1-
Starts off with the battle of Batwoman or Green Arrow with The Flash.
Episode 2-
This episode would begin with Team Flash of Earth Prime fighting off some random villains on their own, the audience will wonder if Barry is actually gone for good.
Episode 3-
Team Flash starts contacting other universes as Barry finds himself being unable to dimension travel due to an unknown reason.
Episode 4-
Very similar to OG seasons of The Flash, with blood, a menacing villain, a great first fight scene reminding the hero that he cannot save the world alone.
I honestly don’t even like Barry anymore, his not the same person I knew, guy didn’t even blink when Caitlin died, frost was more of a team mate than his actual friend
the only good thing was showing the full circle
My constant issue with The Flash since season 6 or 7 is that the show isn’t about Barry anymore. Instead the flash is a side character in his own show Moët of the time for constant filler episodes. The only good episodes we do get are when Grant Gustin is actually given the chance to act
So they did Red Death… but it’s not Bruce Wayne??? Why even do it?????
This whole mini arcs in the show really made the quality go down… why wasn’t red death the main villain for the whole season it’s so dumb
I feel like everybody in this comment section can write a more competent story than Eric Wallace and I’m being Fr
I thought the Red Death was supposed to be this menacing character clad in crimson red tinted suit made with what seems to be metal armor segments with bats instead of lighting effects
*The Flash* Season 9A: "Rogue War" Episodes Ranked
1. 9x04: "The Mask of the Red Death, Part 1"
2. 9x03: "Rogues of War"
3. 9x05: "The Mask of the Red Death, Part 2"
4. 9x01: "Wednesday Ever After"
5. 9x02: "Hear No Evil"
Pretty big yikes
I feel so validated after you said it was like watching Power Rangers. I'd never seen The Flash before, and I was visiting family who happened to put an episode on. I honestly couldn't believe how bad it was. I've seen better episodes of Power Rangers. Went down a rabbit hole to show my girlfriend how bad it was, and found your video. 😂
I can't even get through season 8 after Ralph "left" it went really down hill
Yes, i agree with some of your comments. Season 9 feels hasty made. It feels as if season 9 should have been. Season 9 Red Dead arc. Season 10 cobalt arc. And that because Grant Gustin didn't want to do season 10. They shorten the built up of Cobalt and Red Dead. Too fit everything in season 9. It felt too much. I still liked season 9. It is not the best season overall.
I still think they should have made Oliver from another timeline red death.
My biggest annoyance with red deaths actor is she never moves her arms, she physically acts like a lego figure most of the time and it's so stiff
