Thank you very much for the recap. I do look forward to it every week. I just want to let your viewers know that while Santini makes beautiful pens and I love the first one that I bought from them, you can only get them from their site in Italy. They are not being sold through retailers in US or anywhere. If you have problems with your pen, it's very difficult to make customer support understand what's wrong. My second purchase from Santini unfortunately did not go well. While they did respond to my emails, but because of the communication problems, they didn't understand what's the wrong with the pen. Very frustrating. For a $400 pen, it's pretty much useless now. Buyer beware.

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. I’ve only had to purchase one pen from them and I also asked for an additional nib in subsequent correspondence and they cooperated and collaborated really nicely. However, these things happen and I just hope that the price was worth all the effort.

Definitely see if Opus will do something about your mini. I've got 4 of them, various designs and various nibs, and I think they're just fantastic. I haven't had any troubles with the pen or the knob, other than sometimes running out of ink because I forgot to open it up. They don't seem all that fragile to me, so maybe yours was a rare dud.

Count me among the "not smart" ones (collectors WITHOUT a budget)....just bought a Namiki Emperor. Grail itch scratched. As always, love your recaps and reviews!

Delta, Maiora, Nettuno 1911..steel JoWo...the best. The Deltas from the past that I own are all with gold nibs so I cannot comment about the old Delta steel nibs. But definitely can comment about current--see first sentence. :)

I can read between the lines, but with my interview with Nino, he kind of hinted that he’s working on a major in-house nib project hopefully that will come to fruition

I have 2 jin hao 10 fountain pens with fine nibs. Clearly better and cheaper than the majohns which I also own, one of each retractable model. Jin hao's version is a cut above in every way. Always appreciate your videos.

I think they’re fine little pens, but I’m just having a hard time with these retractable pens. Find myself not using them very often.

@@fountainpentherapy I know, I know, I don't use them very often either, I enjoy the concept and their methodology of creating a solution and they are useful in lecture situation for taking notes with one hand and writing with the other

I have the mini Opus 88 and I inadvertently pulled the sealing rod all the way back and pulled off the gasket that seals the ink in the barrel from the feed. My fault 😢.
I do have the Demonstrator pen that I use a lot and am contemplating getting the Harmony model which is very attractive. Sorry to see yours fell apart. I had a similar experience with the Narwhal Nautilus. I was attempting to fill the barrel and twisted the end cap and the socket that has the threads to close the end cap came out of the barrel. It is over 2 years old so not under warranty. I don't know if it can be repaired.
As far as new pens, I did pick up the Faber-Castell Hexo and was very surprised how smooth their steel nib wrote. The price is very reasonable. If you do not have one, you should consider it. It is very light (anodized aluminum cap and barrel).

Your Delta Pens.....If they were mine and I experienced the same as you, I would expel the ink, flush thoroughly with cool water, or before that, soak ink and feeder a few hours in a solution of water and one drop of clear, liquid soap and then flush w/ water, dry, and load pens with Waterman..black or blue, or blue-black. That should resolve the problem. If not, try Aurora blue or black. If the aforementioned does not work, then before I would conclude the issue is the nib and/or feeder, I would be certain that my paper used is absolutely fountain pen friendly.

That’s that’s exactly what happened. I believe I mentioned in this video that I washed everything out and the results proved that there was nothing wrong with the nib or feed.
