I bought 2 of the sets and with the Normans infantry and cavalry Boxes they should work for my Franks/Crusader/Normans project but also provide some spare slinger models for Late Roman Levy. I did not think about mixing the bodies with other arms. I really love the Victrix models, I just wish they would include pictures of the different bodys/parts on the picture or provide an PDF. I always clip out parts for multiple models, and with checking the description which parts I need and then checking on an unused sprue which piece fits to the A29 arms takes a lot time.
I can Imagine that would be difficult. I normally do one sprue at a time so I have a reference sprue to check which part is which. Looking forward to seeing your Crusaders at the next tournament :)
Personally I prefer the Victrix Dacian pack for archers... 30 bows per pack, only slightly more expensive than these and you get 60 models vs 36. Not just that, you can add the bows/quivers/arrows to existing viking/saxon/norman/ bodies meaning you don't lose 30 models from the dacians. It's a better route I found. Granted their bows may not be completely correct for medieval bows, but they are still short bows and work perfectly fine. Just a better kit in my opinion for expense. Plus the dacian kit is pretty amazing for all the different weapons they have.
Not familiar with that kit, but will need to check it out! The main issue with the Anglo Danes and Vikings is lack of unarmoured bodies though. So this pack is a good way to get more of those
Dang. I recently bought some Dark Age Warriors from Gripping Beast to take advantage of their free shipping. However, I love Victrix and am sad I missed an opportunity to buy from them instead. The Gripping Beast models don't have round bases (they're for their mass battle game and have multi-bases) and the integral base are very thick. They also only have 3 poses which aren't really multi-pose, plus multiple heads.
I still like the 'basic' GBP archers, they are solid and quick to paint up and generally fit better scale-wise with metal ranges. The Victrix ones have a lot more detail and pose-ability so they do take longer to put together. Really depends on what you want from the models really.
I like how you managed to work "Dark Age Warriors" in here even when you were talking about the Dark Age Archers! :D

@@TylerProvick don't forget you can slightly tilt the wrist of one of the three poses... so technically unlimited different poses ;)
