Well said, Cliff. 👏🏻👏🏻 Great advice. There are no rules. I say to follow your heart and make the videos you love, not what other people would like. Hang in there with everything going on be sure to care of you & your family - that’s the stuff that matters in life. - MJ
Hey Cliff, great advice! As someone who is just starting off, I value your advice. Sorry to hear about the rough patch you and your wife are going through. Thank you for making the time to upload this video. Wishing you all the best.
These are great advices! People do so much overthinking about the "Meaning of Life" (great movie). And it’s so simple. Be yourself, use what you’ve got , and be kind. I’m sorry you guys are on a bumpy detour curve on the road of life. Keep moving forward my friend. Much love from me and all your subscribers!
Thank you so much for the kind words Matt! We are doing our best to look after each other and to keep moving forward. Thank you so much for your love and support! ♥
Sending lots of love to you and Anita. I am so sorry that the two of you are experiencing a painful season of life. Great advice for new BookTubers. I struggle with attaching my self-esteem/worth to my subscriber (or to be more precise, my lack of subscriber) numbers. I'm working on that mentality, but it's a challenge because of the way my brain works. On the positive side, the community I've found on BookTube has been such a wonderful experience. I truly feel that I've made friends from so many different parts of the world.
Thank you for the kind words Jen! Glad you found the advise helpful. Keep on producing quality content and subs will come, although I agree that is a tough one.
Hi Cliff, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems. I hope things get better for you and your family soon. Sometimes life really stinks! I have a new BookTube channel. You gave lots of good advice. It was good to hear since I don't have a book collection or fancy equipment. I decorated some shelves in the corner to sit in front of for my videos. You got me thinking, I don't think I ever said my name. hahahahahaha... I need to fix that (it's Pam). I'm going to check my channel and make sure I have everything filled out. I'm enjoying your channel; thanks for the good advice.
Thank you so much for the kind words Pam! I will definitely check out your channel and am delighted you enjoyed my advice. Be sure to check out MJ's channel, she is a champion for small booktubers and is full of wisdom.
Good to see you, Cliff! I’ve been thinking about you and Anita. I hope things turn around for you guys soon. I’m so sorry ya’ll have been dealing with this. Such great advice here! I’ve so often thought I should say my name in my intro. I’ll have to tell you sometime why I haven’t so far except for when I first started my channel. I do plan to someday. It’s a weird story. 😂 I started on Instagram and I definitely think it’s helped me grow my channel. I love seeing your child, Layla. She is the cutest! 🖤
Thank you so much for the kind words! I am glad you found my advice useful. Would love to hear that story someday. I will probably open an Instagram account sometime in future.
@@CliffsDarkGems I’ve kept social media minimal because it’s stressful but Instagram has been fun and easy to build and manage. A lot of people like TikTok but it stresses me out sooo bad. 😂
very good words for newcomers like not needing the most expensive equipment and not expecting a ton of ad revenue over night, i just started this new channel recently its been fun thinking of ideas and talking with other readers who love all sorts of different stories.
Absolutely! You need to enjoy your channel and just be You! Enjoy talking about the books you love, have fun! The Booktube Newbie Tag is an excellent way to introduce your channel, lots of people check those out to discover new channels.
I’m sorry for all the traumatic awfulness you have been dealing with. Excellent advice! It is amazing how huge non BookTube channels can be. I guess if I want big numbers I’ll have to pretend that I’ve never seen Star Wars and do a reaction video. “Darth Vader is what!?! GASP!
Really great advice, and it is true - the background doesn’t always have to be books… even though most of us do just that haha. I love a good book channel outdoors, or at a nice simple desk, or in a cozy space. It’s so rare though. Hope all is well, and improving
Hey Cliff, glad to see you post a video. I know you're having such a rough month and my thoughts are with you both. There's so much great advice in this video. I'm a mood reader so I struggle with TBR and Readathon videos, I might 'borrow' your phrase and do a pile of possibilities video. Another thing I struggle with is thumbnails, I've recently started to use Canva and the last few thumbnails are looking much better (I think). I'm so glad I started my channel though, I've met so many awesome people since I started making videos, the community is amazing.
Hey John, I am so glad you enjoyed my video! I really appreciate your warm thoughts and care. I have recently been doing the "pile of possibilities" thing and it just works so much better. Keep working on those thumbnails my friend!
Great to see you back buddy, hope things are starting to settle down for you and the family. Great advise, much of which I wish I had a few months ago 😂
@@CliffsDarkGems oh I’ll keep changing things up, I just want to keep experimenting, keep learning, keep improving. And whatever support I can give I’m here for you pal.
I have made videos in front of my bookshelf in the past, but my home is too noisy these days. I often film in my empty old childhood bedroom (the blue room) at Mum's home because it's quiet there similar to people who film in their car.
Great to see you my dear ❤ I’m going to say this was a different kind of video . 🙂 also I deleted Voxer . If you need me my friend, my email is available. Enjoy your rest of your week and happy readings . 📚
