I liked it for the most part, I won't say it is the best Superhero I've ever seen, but I was entertained by it throughout, I thought most of the comedy hit right and the action was pretty good. Overall, I would give it 3 out of 5 stars. Not great, but I had a fairly good, fun time watching it.
I just came back from watching the movie, and I have to say it's honestly a really entertaining time as I had pretty low expectations for it, and I was honestly surprised at how much fun I had. The movie does indeed feel like a Saturday morning cartoon, but in the best way, as I loved Black Manta, Orm and Arthur's relationship; the visuals and the world-building are pretty interesting. The acting is honestly decent, and I, too, loved the action scene, which had me on the edge of my seat. The movie is, of course, not perfect and has messy moments, and I wish they fleshed out more. yes, while I am definitely no fan of Amber Heard, I do have to say her role was actually not that bad, and she did have more scenes than I expected. I also think the 2nd Act might be my least favourite, and Black Manta kinda loses his menace at the very end, but he is still one of my favourite DCEU villains. Jason Momoa as Aquaman does sort of feel a bit out of character, but still, you feel his pain, anger and, during serious moments, he does do a good job, its not like Thor in Love and Thunder, where he barely takes anything seriously, Arthur in this movie can crack jokes but also know when to truly step up and take charge of a situation which I liked.
I legitimately had a good time with the movie and felt like a kid again after such a stressful month, and I think this was a solid sequel and end to the DCEU if you ask me.
I genuinely hate these types of comments. They popped up on The Flash, Blue Beetle, and The Marvels. “If you lower your expectations enough you might’ve liked it a little bit.” No. Just no. There’s no justification for a shit movie
@@fty-ys4ni I never told you or anyone to lower expectations, if you don't like the movie that's completely fine, I too have alot of problem with the movie. But Im not forcing you or anyone to like it, I simply just said I originally had low expectations myself and was pleasantly surprised and had a fun time with the movie after watching it. If you don't like the movie that's completely your opinion, but for me personally I really enjoyed it and was a really fun breather for me personally after a stressful month. I don't expect everyone else to share the same view like every opinion it's always subjective and your allowed to like something sincerely
@@milkiassamuel780 I'm actually 💯 with you. I didn't even like the first one so my expectations were super low. I ended up walking out thinking it was a fun movie. Nothing that stood out but it was a fun time.
@@WeirdEdz Glad to see other people enjoy the movie. I keep on hearing people say it's boring, bad and bland, which I'm surprised by, as I was thinking I was the minority on this one. I really did have a good time with it and it was one of the most entertaining DC films I've seen I a while. Maybe it was because Ive had a stressful month I don't know, but if anything I don't regret watching it and though it is predictable at times and has many problems but I still thought it was a solid sequel

I think we all know that James Gunn plus Jason Mamoa could bring an incredible version of Lobo to the screen, bastiches!

I still prefer the first one but I still enjoyed the sequel. One thing they improved on this one is they're not trying to adapt 3 story arcs into one movie. I'm glad they were able to at least do a sequel for this side of the DC universe before WB does the reboot
As much as Ryan and Doug are great, I really like seing Colton taking the spotlight every once in a while and being credited for the videos that he writes. Hopefully he gets to do videos recurrently.

Yes, same for me -- my sentiments exactly! I unapologetically enjoy the DCEU Aquaman world and its characters, and will miss them. It's a shame we won't be getting another Aquaman film in this universe.

I’m pretty sure the motorcycle had nothing to do with Lobo, Momoa rides and injected a lot of his real personality into Arthur
yeah if i recall, Arthur rode a motorcycle in Aquaman 1 and Justice League
I think he had it in there because recently Jason has commercials with him doing a shop or something with motorcycles
Thank for the honest review as always colton i agree with you people are being to harsh on it i like it better than shazam 2 it was solid film 7/ 10 the fight was good ,and enjoy the humor it was nice sequel, and a cool way to end the DCEU.
It’s upsetting because this was actually a decent movie. It felt like the early superhero movie days and it’s like we would’ve have received it well and received the justice league well if all of the DCU went with this approach to tell singularity stories first before trying to jump right in to a team up movie
Im with you, I'm in the rare bracket of loving both this movie and even the flash. They had something special with this cast of justice league heros (even mera) and they blew their opportunity to build a universe to rival marvel. RIP DCEU

This movie was fun! The dialogue was goofier than I wanted. The CGI isn’t always on peak. They kept Amber Turd in the movie. But the set design was good most of the time. The acting of Aquaman, Orm, and Black Manta was all awesome. It wasn’t a waste of $5!
I was very entertained by this movie. Cohesive plot, great affects. I totally enjoyed it. The cockroach thing was pretty cool
It wasn't bad and it wasn't great, it was a decent sequel!!! I am ready for the whole reboot and new direction, seeing Momoa as Lobo would be awesome 👌
I was really hoping that in the post credit scene, instead of Orm and the cheeseburger, it would say “In another universe, and have Jason Mamoa make his debut as “Lobo”. It’s not connected to Aquaman, sure! But I think it would make sense to show how all of these pre-planned movies in the DCEU help show the lean into the new DCU. Like Blue Beetle was going to be DCEU, but then decided to make it DCU. This movie was DCEU, but that post credit could help tease the role he’ll have in the DCU. That’s my take!
Did you know Annabelle(From the conjuring universe) can be seen in the first 5mins of the movie Aquaman2? (It can be seen at the bottom left part when he walked in the house no joke check it out your self)

Most scenes with Amber Heard were just weird from a chemistry perspective. I know there were stories about an uncomfortable set, etc. but it was super noticeable.
The fight scenes were all very chaotic and filmed in close up with lots of editing which made them rather boring.
Momoa and Wilson had good chemistry, but they tried a bit too hard with the forced humor.
Overall it was pretty good. Not bad but not great either, and the main question would be why Superman or Batman wouldn't have found the volcano. I know they said there was a heat shield to hide it, but just visually from space it would have been easily noticeable by satellites. At some point over the last 5 months someone would have noticed a formally dormant volcano spewing green gas.

The scene where aquaman tries to save black manta was so awesome! it showed how aquaman was going to let him die but he realized maybe if he didn't let manta's dad die this could have all been prevented and he wasn't going to make that mistake again but manta would rather die a bad ass then be saved by his arch nemesis! great expanding on the first movie!
The review actually points out how horrible this film is literally you're saying it's like Star wars it's like Loki it's like iron Man it's like this it's like that it's because it's completely unoriginal.
Personally im so glad the DCEU is behind us 👋🏽hopefully better day ahead.

Fair and good review Colton. As parents, my husband and I totally related to Arthur and his pop in this movie. Viewers, having kids really CHANGES you. Through Arthur you see how he’d want to be kinder toward his brother Orm.
And it’s interesting to see the Professor’s comic book origins. His actor was at the end of Aquaman but was a little role and it’s fitting that his character has grown in Aquaman II. It’s also great to see the United Nations come out near the coastline to meet the Atlanteans to show the potential of peaceful relations

It was fun to watch but it had too many problems. Bad editing, bad script, and worst of all, bad actions! The first one was much better. I still like it though. The duo dynamic between Omelet and Arthur was so good!

Missed that the Manta sub crew was dressed like the astronaut team from Planet of the Vampires, which is pretty much an Italian version of Alien made in the 60's.
Aquaman's Atlantis was invited to join the UN in a major storyline way back in the 1993 run by Shaun McLaughlin and Ken Hooper. This was five years before Christopher Priest used that in the Black Panther comics. There are even older references to DC's Atlantis and the UN in older comics. Then, the 2016 rebirth storyline also used that trope. A fictional Earth-based nation joining the UN is common in comics. Aquaman did not copy Black Panther.
I just watched Aquaman 2 on Max and I really enjoyed it 😁 like Colton said it was a good superhero movie sequel and I was here for it ! I LOVE Jason Mamoa as Aquaman , his sarcasm and humor just makes me giggle lol… it’s sad that he probably won’t be playing him anymore 😢

I just watched 4 Times and it is crossing over 400 million box office.
You're not weird, Colton, because I liked 'The Flash' and 'Aquaman - The Lost Kingdom' just as much. Heck, I enjoyed 'Black Adam', 'Shazam - Fury of the Gods' AND 'THE Suicide Squad'. I'll never understand why these movies made as little money as they did, other than 'fandom' collectively turned their back on them without giving them a decent chance, and were just robots, listening to the negative elements of fandom influencing their choices, instead of checking them out themselves and having a good time. Not one of those movies is bad or lame. Completely enjoyable. Maybe Iron Man and the Avengers has spoiled us.

Just watched the movie since it hit Max. Honestly I really enjoyed it. Here’s a hot take. The last 3 DCEU movies are better than the last 3 Marvel movies. I’m talking about Aquaman 2, Blue Beetle, and yes, even The Flash.
I would say the oracalcum is meant to symbolize nuclear energy. They said they used it for awhile until they realized the dangers it has on the environment so they stored them away in vaults. Kinda like nukes that are just sitting around for decades. Plus the green energy from the black trident feels like nuclear energy symbolism.
lol I think he was on the bike just because Jason likes bikes but I HOPE he’ll be Lobo either way!

Yeah my theater was mostly full too. Compared to the Flash. I went on Thursday preview night and the theater was mostly empty
So this movie doesn’t even make my top 10 for this year, and I didn’t enjoy as much as the first one, but I did have more fun with it than any marvel movie of recent memory (excluding guardians three).
I think one thing the Aquaman movies do better than any other superhero movies is keeping the two main villains present. I was really happy to see they didn’t kill off either villain in the prior movie. Personally, I’d really like to see that moving forward and superhero movies. Where instead of killing each villain off in the first movie, they appear to throw in somebody else, to, instead, let the villains have their own character art develop over a series. They also don’t treat the villains as simply jokes or punch bags for Aquaman, like we often see in marvel. There’s those moments in there, but there’s also moments where you get to see them be really awesome.
I think time will treat the two Aquaman movies well. I’m not a huge fan of the character myself, but you can tell they just embrace everything about what makes Aquaman Aquaman. Riding giant seahorses, teaming up with an octopus, or even his bright outfit. I will miss this version of the character and all the ridiculously epic underwater world building.

James Gunn is already said that Aquaman is going to be continued to be played by Jason Momoa and that Jason will not be playing any other characters which disappointed me because there's no reason why he can't be both lobo and Aquaman
One Easter Egg I noticed was Momoa’s real daughter had a cameo at the end.
The problem is not liking The Flash, the problem was saying The Flash did the multiverse better than Sipder Man Across the Spiderverse.

I laughed. Every time there was a scene with Amber heard, and all she did was stay silent and smile pretty much, and she did have a few speaking lines at the end, but it was always fun guessing when her next speaking line was going to be in the fact that they pull away, and she didn’t say a thing would always make me laugh a little.
another video said she had about 10 lines of dialogue in the movie. I'm guessing some of her scenes were cut or reshot with Tom taking her place

does anyone else think the reason why DC films are underperforming is because of the way James Gunn has treated Henry and the other actors of the existing franchises? Why would I support a DC movie when the executive of the studio treats other people like that?
