Over saturating a market is a very real thing. I think for many people, superheroes are a nice diversion now and again - but the market that wants them to be the only media they consume is much smaller than the studios seem to have expected. And because they believed demand was so high, they rushed the movies again and again, which then led to formulaic or nonsensical plots, very bland characters and dialog, and over-reliance on the overworked VFX industry. And the bad quality and over-saturation spent up a lot of the good will they had created with a lot of people, I think. It doesn't help that it seems like many of the heroes are being written to be pretty interchangeable these days. Early MCU was pretty simple in their personalities and motivations, but they were definitely distinct. But, for the MCU at least, it's like they want to make all their heroes either Iron Man or Captain America, or both, while also forgetting that hero role and personality are not the same thing. It still baffles me how could the DCEU fail this hard when they had the perfect blueprint to follow, the perfect shared universe to emulate: the DCAU. Why weren't DCAU creators like Bruce Timm and Paul Dini were involved in at least the planning stage is beyond me.
Because they just worked on silly cartoons which, as everyone knows, are just for kids, while the DCEU was supposed to be real cinema. I'm like 99% sure this was the thinking behind that.
@@Roronoa2zoro I think you're right, it had to be arrogance and hubris. What they failed to understand that those silly cartoons have an enduring legacy for a reason. We took it seriously because it took us seriously, they very deliberately did not write them like saturday morning cartoons. Aquaman's power levels were all over the place. In previous iterations he's leaping about almost flying, going at super speed etc. He can barely take out some goons, he's fighting at normal speed apart from the last few scenes. He needs to create a bridge to jump a gap, when in Justice League he's leaping hundreds of metres. He basically had a strength level of Captain America and not Superman. He even ran at normal speed, like when he ran away from those desert people. It made no sense.

This movie was still better than most of the rest of the DCEU, which is pretty sad. I feel like this movie was also way too safe; in the comics Black Manta killed Aquaman's child and also Aquaman has had his hand cut off; both things are forshadowed in this movie, but idk if WB told them no or what but nether end up happening. Someone eating a burger and then shoving a cockroach in it because they think it will improve the flavor is a great scene for the DCEU to end on because its a pretty good metaphor for the DCEU.
I honestly think the fantastic beasts 2 when he was doing the crab walk is the funniest one I fall over every time you should check it out 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤ that and the one he did on the teenage high School love story with the wolf and vampire I can't remember the name I it was funny the way he was talking about the shiny skin on the vampires who were trying to be teenagers (Twilight is the Show)😢😂😢😂😢
The DCEU has been a mess from the start and with Marvel messing up now too, I hope the restart will help, so we can at least get a couple of good superhero movies in the future.
I went with a friend to go see Aquaman 2. Never have I nearly walked out of a film before in the cinema. It just baffled me that they even went with a script like this and thought it'd be great.
It was really entertaining, it's dumb entertaining. I'm not watching to get a brilliant movie, I'm just looking for a fun experience and I got it! Arthur and Orm dynamic is just so fun
This one was BRILLIANT! Not to say the other ones aren't. Please don't misunderstand me. However, this one had me just rolling with laughter. Great job.
When these pitch meeting videos are infinitely better than the movies they spoof. They’ve even created their own catch phrase “super easy, barely an inconvenience”. Epic!
When I watched Aquaman 2, I felt like the final half of the movie with Necrom had a whole lot stolen from Lord of the Rings. I was kind of hoping that the pitch meeting would have some type of reference to that, maybe somehow stapling the LotR pitch to the Aquaman pitch, and then deciding to just change a few things to make it work (trident instead of ring, undead instead of orcs, etc.).
He's the king of *one* of the 4 current sentient kingdoms of Atlantis, and Orm pissed a lot of people off from other kingdoms in the first movie. He killed the Fishermen king Ricou, he cut of the Brine king arm, and he tried to have the Xebel's king daughter assassinated. That's why he can't simply pardon Orm, even if Atlantis as a whole forgave him, 75% of the underwater world would still be gunning for him
Just saw Aquaman 2. From what I saw, it wasn't half bad, and I was hoping for a low key, adventure story. Something where I could turn my critical mind off. Anyway, I think it's a mistake to abandon the DCEU like this. Granted, the last two year movies haven't been the best at the box office, but I have a harder time with Gunn's abandonment of what's already been established. Everybody wanted Cavill to carry on as Superman and perhaps turn things around. But I don't trust Gunn's instincts. Great humorous review of Aquaman 2 though, and where was the Justice League?

Plan 3: If it’s a movie I want to see, but there’s a Pitch Meeting of it in my sidebar, I assess life and all existence.
"I think u might have the wrong building!" is such an underrated response 😂😭
"I wrote a crazy thing here." Sums up the movie in a whole.
It's what Zack Snyder said about Rebel Moon as well, and he just makes a new version of Battle Beyond the Stars, which again is a remake of Seven Samurai. 😆
Good...good.
@FabledGentleman No James Horner = no sale.
I wanted to see this Pitch Meeting more than the actual movie
Sadly that seems true for the majority of movies
Who actually watches these movies?
@@cjraymond8827 No one anymore.
Same dude
I been thinking that a lot lately.
When I watched the movie and they destroyed the trident right when the bad guy got it. I immediately knew, when this episode came out that it would be “super easy, barely an inconvenience.” You guys did not disappoint!
To be fair they already did a mirror match to the film's prior, and mostly this one with Black Manta, so another one would be too much.
All tho at this point just don't wake him up and let him die instead of hyping the fight
The “hey shut up” ALWAYS gets me 😂😂
It still baffles me how could the DCEU fail this hard when they had the perfect blueprint to follow, the perfect shared universe to emulate: the DCAU. Why weren't DCAU creators like Bruce Timm and Paul Dini were involved in at least the planning stage is beyond me.
Because reasons
Because they don't respect cartoons
Because they just worked on silly cartoons which, as everyone knows, are just for kids, while the DCEU was supposed to be real cinema.
I'm like 99% sure this was the thinking behind that.
Because the message.
@@Roronoa2zoro I think you're right, it had to be arrogance and hubris. What they failed to understand that those silly cartoons have an enduring legacy for a reason. We took it seriously because it took us seriously, they very deliberately did not write them like saturday morning cartoons. Hell, the beloved Cadmus arc of Justice League Unlimited was some hardcore cold war shit between the Justice League and the US government. Something like that would have been awesome on the silver screen if handled right.
It's so clear this movie had a lot of reshoots just from the beginning with Dr. Shin under the ice. The man kept switching from scared, awed, intrigued, happy & back again every time the scene cuts.
"We gotta secure our bag"
*"Switch to briefs?"*
Holy shit, Ryan
Didn't get it 😅 can u explain pls ?
@@AminePlayer1 There is a part of male anatomy that could be called a "bag". When wearing boxers as underwear that part is free to hang down, but if a man were to want that region to be more "secured" aka held in place, they could switch to briefs as underwear.
@@esotericVideos But can you explain it in five words or fewer please?
@as3609 briefs hold balls, boxers don't. Boom.
@@TheDavidPhillips Honestly, that's a really good 5 word summary.
James Wan is a good action director, Jason Mamoa is a good actor, and The Lost Kingdom is a good reason these people should work in something better than this script.
Tells ya EVERYTHING ya need to know about Hollywon't. It's a friggin' corrupt, corporate, clueless mess.
Thinking momoa is a good actor is a wild take
@OnePiece4ev3r unless everyone agree on criteria, anyone take is good
Is it untrue? I mean, with the exception of Fast and the Furious & Joss Weadon's Justice League (2017) he usually gives convincing and comitted performances as an actor.
@@BatAmerica Fast X is easily his best performance so far. You just hating on the Fast movies but it’s a fact.
I truly appreciate your dedication to our entertainment. Pitch Meeting is still my favorite go to playlist. But not only do you give great insight into the thought process behind all the amazing movies out there, you also take the time to film this Pich Meeting backwards and say nonsense just to make us smile! You are so generous and creative! 😊❤
Watching a pitch meeting without seeing the movie and saving money is TIGHT
I really appreciate your commitment to details in the respective shirts.
Also: At this point, an Aquaman-Kung Fu Panda crossover sounds like it would be one of the higher grossing Superhero movies of the next years.
I would pay money to see that 👍
@@kambrieearl4299 Not me, but I would watch a _Pitch Meeting_ about it.
Note, that I watch every _Pitch Meeting._ This is not a request for that particular subject. Ryan is better at choosing topics than I am.
I would pay money to watch that. How about an Aquaman and Hong Kong Phooey crossover?
How about Aquaman vs King Kong?
_Aquaman v Namor: Dawn of glglglglgl_
It’s a long time since I stopped watching these superhero movies, but i seriously enjoy these pitches. Based on them these movies are becoming progressively more insane with each iteration.
Finding out that a movie exists via pitch meeting is TIGHT!
I swear this literally had a marketing budget of $0
The ending was killer!!!
I'm always expecting the stinger at the end, but when they just kept coming I lost it, that was perfect
I love that you were announced as one of the top channels of this year. Look forward to many more years. Super easy. Barely in a convenience to see you succeeding in the future. Happy New years!🎉🎉🎉
John 14:6 Jesus Christ says - I am the Way the Truth and the Life, No one comes unto the Father except through Me.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of Sin is death but the free gift of God is Eternal Life in Christ Jesus.
Repent of thine sins, turn to God and ye shall be forgiven. Jesus is coming back soon!🥳
Jesus Christ loves you and died on the cross for YOU😁he loves you so much and is calling you to a relationship with your Father in Heaven Elohim. The devil’s time is running out and he knows it. Turn to God and step on the schemes of the devil. John 8:36 To Whom the Son(Jesus Christ) sets free is free indeed.
That anxiety, depression, mania can all cease in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Hallelujah. That’s good news!!🎉🎉 the devil has been judged but GODS SHOWN US MERCY!!🙌🏻
Repent. Believe in the gospel. Put your faith in Jesus and ye shall be Saved!!
I had such high expectations for this Pitch Meeting and I was not disappointed
4:35 this felt almost *personal* to Ryan 🤣🤣🤣
Aquaman's power levels were all over the place. In previous iterations he's leaping about almost flying, going at super speed etc. He can barely take out some goons, he's fighting at normal speed apart from the last few scenes. He needs to create a bridge to jump a gap, when in Justice League he's leaping hundreds of metres. He basically had a strength level of Captain America and not Superman. He even ran at normal speed, like when he ran away from those desert people. It made no sense.
This has to be the best ending of any Pitch Meeing so far
No doubt about it
"Babies are filled with blood." Well, yes. I think Baby Ryan has something to say about that, specifically from the First Guy to Ever be King video.
Awesome easter egg Ryan. Rewarding those who actually scrolled through the video backwards is tight.
Doing a Pitch Meeting for Rebel Moon would be tight!!!
it'd be super easy, barely an inconvenience.
That works!
Just huff glue and watch Seven Samurai
It would be a short pitch. Not much happens.
@@momomomocensoredbyyoutube9085just do the video in slow motion
A pitch meeting for Big Trouble in Little China would be tight!
2:51 the simplest response that sounds like he is agreeing but also disappointed writer guy didn't try harder to come up with something else.
Love how pitch meetings have turned movie critique into a science
"If actually super easy barely an inconvenience...then wow wow wow wow"
okay ya know what @alexsuszko5331!? I'm gonna need you to get allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way off my back about this one.
Hey shuddup! So anyway about this movie... 😂
@@jslaughter95 *Yeah, he really should get up off of that thing.* 🤣😂😅
Lmao you always nail it Ryan! The “secure our bag” joke really hit me for some reason. Always nice to add this movie the ever growing list of “movies I never need to watch”
I was never ready for "switch to brifs" 😅😅😅
The main thing that confused me is that orichalcum is a real material and it’s not nuclear or whatever the fuck it was supposed to be in the movie
4:50 stop stoooop he’s already dead
Lol I had to slow the vid down to .5x just to read the rest of the headlines 😂
Happy New Year Ryan, you’re one of the funniest people on YT, consistently high quality!
I like when he sounds legitimately amused at the ridiculousness of what he's reading and even breaks character and laughs sometimes.
watching pitch meetings for movies you didn’t even know existed is TIGHT
Watching the pitch meeting version of the movie that I don’t like is tight
'that is exactly how the first Iron Man movie ended' it only took the DCEU a decade to reach the start of the MCU. And then it died.
Always a joy to see another addition to the Pitch Meeting Cinematic Universe.
I remember watching the first one. That's it. I do not recall anything about it, all I know I watched it. And this is one of the movies of this year that was made for sure.
I honestly am not sure if I saw the first one. Not joking.
I remember thinking Jason Momoa is a cool guy. I cannot remember anything about the movie itself.
I remember the drinking with fishermen scene and the fact that Dr. Evil laser sharks were in it. Nothing more.
I remember laughing at moments that were clearly not intended to be funny.
This one is better because it's shorter. I think that's about all you need to know.
This is going to go down as one of the best pitch meetings of all time that you just keep coming back to, JUST for that ending! 👏Priceless
Christmas is over, I’m sick as hell… a new pitch meeting is just the medicine I need right now
That didn't rhyme at all
Me too 🤒
@@Semystic"...just the medicine I need to get well" could work
"so much would have to go wrong to end on that note" 😂 😂
"So this is going to be a buddy comedy now." Had me rolling
By far this is the funniest pitch meeting. I died laughing at the end when you showed everything that went wrong. 😂🤣💀
I honestly think the fantastic beasts 2 when he was doing the crab walk is the funniest one I fall over every time you should check it out 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤ that and the one he did on the teenage high School love story with the wolf and vampire I can't remember the name I it was funny the way he was talking about the shiny skin on the vampires who were trying to be teenagers
(Twilight is the Show)😢😂😢😂😢
@@realitymatters4745 that one is a good one too🤣💀
The DCEU has been a mess from the start and with Marvel messing up now too, I hope the restart will help, so we can at least get a couple of good superhero movies in the future.
I would love to see a list of all the things that are tight across all the pitch meetings. Story-telling tridents is a good addition to the list.

The ending!!! Great work!!!
"Sounds like a very scary brand of toothpaste!" Good one, Ryan!
I went with a friend to go see Aquaman 2. Never have I nearly walked out of a film before in the cinema. It just baffled me that they even went with a script like this and thought it'd be great.
How do some people say they almost walked out and other people like me think it was the best dceu movie this year
It was really entertaining, it's dumb entertaining. I'm not watching to get a brilliant movie, I'm just looking for a fun experience and I got it! Arthur and Orm dynamic is just so fun
It was fun
Had no idea it was out now, but it was really good!
The pitch meeting that is, though the first part still holds true for the Aquaman movie.
This one was BRILLIANT! Not to say the other ones aren't. Please don't misunderstand me. However, this one had me just rolling with laughter. Great job.
You're a comedic genius! Great stuff, Ryan!!
I've been looking forward to the pitch meeting for this movie more than the movie itself! Thanks Ryan.
“You mean switch to briefs.” That was comedy gold.
Ryan's Pitch Meetings began with the DCEU and now they've outlived them. Also Happy New Year Ryan!
"Babies are full of blood!"
Also, that end montage of headlines was simply brutal.
Immortan Joe war boys INTENSIFIES
And pee
That was a brutal ending! Awesome!
Happy holidays, Ryan! 😄 Thank you for brightening our days! We really appreciate your work ❤ Best wishes 🍀
When these pitch meeting videos are infinitely better than the movies they spoof. They’ve even created their own catch phrase “super easy, barely an inconvenience”. Epic!
Wait, what? That’s a catchphrase? :)
Wow wow wow wow... wow.
Each pitch meeting just gets better and better! Every second is comedy gold!
Laughing out loud at the amazing ending to this one! Well done Ryan!
that ending really got me emotional to see the dceu end. thanks for the trip down memory lane, ryan!
The ending 😂 RIP DCEU, you sure were a collection of movies some people cared about.
First few are solid enough…there after it’s seriously diminished returns.
It went out, not with a bang or a whimper. But with a... plob.
They were without a doubt some of the movies of all time.
Easily the FUNNIEST ending you’ve done!!
I dont watch movies anymore. I just watch Pitch Meeting and enjoy.
3:44 Couldn't Aquaman just pardon his brother of all his crimes? He is the KING after all.
That's why he can't simply pardon Orm, even if Atlantis as a whole forgave him, 75% of the underwater world would still be gunning for him
Those little end credits jokes are actually so underrated, they're great!
Probably the funniest super easy bit you’ve done so far, that “check this shit out” smirk 😂
"Sounds like a very scary brand of toothpaste!" 😂😂
Nah. That'll be the Adidas brand Spider-suit for Mile Morales, in the Spider-Man 2 game.
@@thatHARVguy 🤷🏿♂️ got a PS4

4:40 it actually crossed 4.4 million.
0:57 I’m honestly happy they continued with Black Manta. It’s better than the MCU who kills their villains in their very first appearance.
Was gonna say the same thing. Villain death is just one more thing contributing to (my, at least) superhero fatigue
