2 more wins and they make it to the playoffs. This team let so many winnable games slip by and all they needed was 2 more. Thanks for the content. I watched a lot the first half of the season but had to stop following them as closely later on because it was to painful to watch lol. Respect to you for grinding out the whole season

Found your post game recaps after the mariners hit their surge and got a 10 game lead. You perfectly encapsulated the feeling of the team at all times. When I wanted you to be optimistic you were. When I wanted you to be frustrated you were. Thank you for being so consistent across the board. Never getting too high or too low on our guys. Just calling balls and strikes as you see em.

My final contribution to your AMAZING dedication and efforts to Team Mariner!!! I TOTALLY agree with what you said about management too … RESULTS speak LOUDER than WORDS!!! Let’s hope and pray that the Dan Wilson era will be the START of something SPECIAL … I’m MORE optimistic going into 2025 than I was this year to be honest - I was very pleasantly surprised that we were 10 games up on Houston in June - but can’t say I was totally surprised that we couldn’t make it stick either!! But I do BELIEVE that Dan is a FIGHTER and that the players look up to him more in that respect. First and foremost he WAS a Mariner legend during the Griffey era and was a HUGE part of the team’s early success - and that he is so highly respected in the city of Seattle. Unlike Servais who was just a random hire, he really had no connection to the city other than getting NINE years to make something happen. And to his credit he did in the miraculous season of 2022 - but after that and some management miscues with the Kolten Wongs of the world we reverted to a lackluster team the last two seasons … where the ONLY consistency was our IN-consistency.
We’re gonna be GOOD next year … I can FEEL it now!!! God bless EVERYONE!! 🙏
Also J … please shoot me an email at damacnut (at) yahoo (dot) com when you get a chance … I have a little something for ya!! 🙌

Hello J, thanks for a great season! You are a division champion. Mariner's MVP is future HOF'er Cal Raleigh. His work with our young staff has been fantastic. His defense better than solid. His production led the team by far, just forget for a minute his BA, he mashed! 32 bombs and 100 rbi's! And he showed the league you can turn him around to the right side, and he will still hurt you! His work pre-season and over the winter from the right side paid off big time. Andres Munoz, the last man standing, did a heck of a job holding down the fort while his other high leverage teammates dropped with injuries. I shiver to think of what our record would be if Andres wasn't dealing! Victor Robles gave us a shot in the arm with his baserunning, his fearless defense, and his incredible hitting! Sign Justin Turner, 2M won't do it, we won't be his only suiter. It's hard for me to talk about 3rd Base without getting upset because they dumped Suarez. With him at third this year, we win the division. Stability, production, superior defense, great clubhouse guy, "good vibes only." I'll just stop there. Between Randy and Luke, are there enough at-bats next year? Does management move one to get a 3B or 2B? Is Polanco safe? Is Garver safe? I keep hearing talk about a lot of fans wanted to get rid of J.P. J.P. will bounce back with a much better offensive season than this year. He still had 51 walks, 3rd on the team, and he works counts, and that wears down any pitcher. His hands are quick, so he can foul off the tough pitches other guys won't get to. His defense is excellent. There is a reason he is one of our captains. Julio....well, if Julio had a normal production season, we'd be division champs. This year was a learning experience for the young phenom. One minute, he was hauling in a catch maybe no one wlse in baseball gets to, and the next he is causing a collision in the outfield by being late and hesitant to call off a corner outfielder. Then he made an easy five rookie (or worse) mistakes on the basepaths. He needs his desire to be great to be more than his talent, or at least equal to it. He has his own personal hitting coach, but that needs to be examined. If he wants to be a leader on this team, he needs to show the consistancy of a professional like Turner, or Cal. Far too many whiffs on pitches he had no business swinging at. After his first home run contest, i noticed a change. Id like to see him work with Edgar this offseason as much as possible. Starting to feel worse, I'm going to cut this short. I kinda had hoped i could give you a more comprehensive run down, J, but i need to rest. You are the man when it comes to M's baseball, and I'm so pumped to see your channel grow so quickly. You deserve it! Go, M's!

Enjoyed all the videos. Totally agree, you could try to point to one or two games but honestly if the offense had been half decent we wouldn’t be nitpicking over one or two games to sneak into the playoffs. Instead we would be looking at a 90-100 win season with WS hopes.

In my opinion, they actually overperformed. Yes, they had a bad 2 month stretch, but they, ending 8 games over .500 were a winning ballclub. This was a light hitting team. Without amazing pitching, this team could've lost 90+ games. Looking forward to Spring 2025.

Thanks for the recaps all season long, I demand that you take at least a week off lol. Not what I wanted or predicted at the beginning of the season but not a terrible season, disappointing but not an abject failure. I don't have a ton of confidence in Dipoto and Hollander going forward but they still have their jobs for now, hopefully they learned from this season.
I don't know if it specifically has to be Turner but getting an old guy who can still produce is huge for this team. I like the idea of Goldschmidt more than Turner personally but either will be fine. If we had signed Turner in the off season on top of the other moves, we're probably in the playoffs. This is one of those times where trying to build a real team like a fantasy team bit Jerry in the ass.
Opening day for Australian Baseball is in Mid November, so about 6 weeks of baseball-less darkness for some of us. I know the time stuff doesn't always work out for some folks but you can always just watch the replays available for free on UA-cam. I highly doubt ESPN is going to be covering a game between the Adelaide Giants and the Brisbane Bandits. Hoping my Aces get it done and retake the Shield!
Great season, looking forward to what you have coming in the off-season!

Damn if only Edgar and Dan had come in a bit sooner, the M's would be in the playoffs.
If Edgar returns as the hitting coach next year, I'll have some legit optimism for the season. If not, there's no reason not to expect the offense to go right back to striking out at everything and not scoring runs, and I'll be extremely skeptical.

A lot of games we should’ve won but that KC loss is especially egregious. Win that and we’re heading into the playoffs playing the best ball we’ve played all year…super frustrating. At the very least I am more hopeful about next year, a lot of promising things to look at closing out the season

  • @mrsticky005
    @mrsticky005 25 днів тому

A lot of people are pointing towards the KC game as what lost the wild card and while technically they are right I think
there will always be those games
    that should have been won.
Where I think the real damage was done was the Guardians series in mid June.
Mariners won Game 1 but lost Game 2 and J made a video
    "Can't win them all"
And that is true. However I had commented on how I thought a Game 3 win after the tough Game 2 loss would have been huge for the season.
I still believe that. I think had the Mariners found a way to win Game 3 there would be no collapse. Or even if they didn't win but came back strong against the Marlins the trajectory would not have plummeted.
I don't believe Mariners are a bad team. Or even a bad offense even though the numbers were bad. I believe the Mariners are
    their own worse enemy.
I think there is a tendency to focus on past mistakes. Yes you absolutely should learn from them but you got to keep your eyes on the prize.
2024 was a chore. They had the division lead then one day they had it nevermore.
    Yet next year in 2025.
Edgar will keep the bats alive.
These last two years took a dive.
But next year Ws will bring back
    THE GOOD VIBES. 😎🔱

85-77 is NOT a wining season.
It’s half the games we lost due to horrible batting and SH|T seasons from the players.
The one thing that got under my skin all year was the stupid sports radios station and podcast and fans saying, “Wait until they go on a run, just wait”. They said this all year and I got so sick and tired of people saying this every year, it pisses me off.
We should expect excellence and some hard coaching, we have a SOFT team and SOFT leaders in the club house
They tell Cal R to be quiet we he speaks up and it pisses me off

  • @kriseec5345

Well 2 more wins would have been 54%. 🤦‍♂️But you didn’t build a team that got to 54% because you keep trying to build a team that will just get you to 54%. Dingleberry Dipoto.

You could also easily turn around and say if the Angels had beaten Houston 3 out of 4 the Mariners would be in the playoffs. Other teams let us down as well. Which is one reason I couldn't care less about the playoffs this year.
