We cant have the attitude that, "well we were up against a really good pitcher so getting shutout is acceptable." We have a really good pitching staff and good teams don't roll over and play dead when we face them. We have to battle and score runs off good pitching.

Everyone thinks Julio was rushed. I don't. I think Julio was the one who asked to be put back in the lineup. I think getting to be on a big channel like ESPN would be a big deal for Julio since it could be a way for a lot of his extended family and friends to watch him. Plus its August and the competition is heating up. You think a guy who has worked extremely hard to get to the MLB wants to be stuck on the IL? Nah. Of course Julio probably wasn't happy about going 0 for 5 but I think he will adjust and get back into the swing of things soon.

The pitching was exceptional for this series. They gave up one single run in 3 games. Complete domination.

ESPN apparently never got the memo that the behind home plate, camera angle is universally hated. No complaints that Sunday night baseball only comes around 5 times per century. I'll take Goldy and Blow all day long.

This is one of those rare times this season where I'm genuinely bummed that the M's have a scheduled day off tomorrow. Despite the offense completely going dead in the Tigers series, this was a great homestand. Depending on how the season goes, we may look back on Mitch Haniger's walk off hit as a season saving moment.

Hiya J! Cal shining again in a big moment! The M's future HOF Catcher showed up in the national spotlight tonight, which I'm super thrilled about since much of the country got to see how the Big Dumper cranks balls into the seats! We know he is just as good defensively and with our pitchers. Ok, when will M's management stop giving preferential treatment to Julio? He wasn't close to ready, and with 43 games left this season, there is simply not the urgency to throw him out there like this. I'm sure Julio wanted it and said so, dreaming of a huge night in front of the nation. He sure swung like he was trying to hit 3 homers in one swing. Would any other M's player have not been given a rehab assignment? Now, heading into the stretch run to the finish, he has started out cementing his worst problem back into life, his wild swinging. I'm trying, but I can't recall the last time a Mariner K'ed 5 times in a single game. Fortunately, his teammates were ripping the ball and Castillo was once again money on the hill. His 9 K game featured 5 straight K's. 🔥 Most of the lineup played well. New addition to the pen Troy Taylor's stuff looks MLB ready! Awesome to see him do well in his debut! This should help his confidence a great deal! Overall, dominating that explosive Mets lineup 22-1 over 3 games is a testament to both our pitching talent and to the new look Mariner lineup. Great win and series, but I really hope that this game was not purposely chosen well in advance as Julio's return because of it being on the national stage and such. Added even more pressure and was a terrible choice for his first game back.

Well that was awesome, pllay like that in the national stage and they will be back soon, thr dumper is nationallly known! Whats wrong with ESPN? Thought they had some great calls. Good seeing the hawks today as well too in preseason action. Julio needs some rehab at bats but good to see with him an ofer tonight 12 runs, rough for the mets to face our pitching after the trip they were on.

Most runs they've scored all year the only negative was julio he definitely looked rusty coming of the IL best series they've played all year and i think this was the best all around game they've played these last 3 games were so much fun

I'm glad Julio will be getting the rust off now as opposed to waiting until he's 100% healthy and try to get his rust off in September. Decent chance he's hitting well by the end of the month at the latest.

Julio shouldn’t have been in the lineup as he had 5K in 5 at bats especially in the cleanup spot. Julio has become a black hole in the lineup. He should be placed further down. Bill Keuger is right. Julio has no plate discipline. The network probably pressured the M’s to get ratings.
