Well, UA-cam decided to restart and eliminate my comment. I knew this was a special moment for the rangers, I believed they even played “The Natural” as he rounded the bases. I didn’t need Joe Buck and his failure to show a pulse when my favorite team does something so electric I was almost levitating in the air jumping up so much. Leave it to lame baseball announcers to mail it in when your team actually deserves a historic call.
I moved home to St. Louis on 3/17/11 from a tour in Germany with the Army. I watched every game that season and through the playoffs. Truly incredible!
I remember watching Kirk Gibson smash that home run and shocking Dennis Eckersley who was like the Mariano Rivera of his day. No one thought Gibby would even be available, and when Vin Scully said on the TV that he was nowhere to be found, he got up, told Tommy Lasorda that he was available to pinch-hit, and started taking practice swings. Gibby had injuries in both legs at this point, so he couldn't really step forward or push off during his swing without a lot of pain, and it's why he was jogging in such a janky way when he was rounding the bases. The play was one of Tommy's biggest "go big or go home" gambles, and the payoff is one reason why baseball endures in this continent: One swing of the bat can change everything.
And to make it even better, that pitch was a borderline strike at best, it was like half a foot off the plate, and Harper STILL got his bat around to crush it.
As a Toronto Blue Jays fan, the Joe Carter home run will always be the most epic home run to me. As a person who works as an on-air personality for my living, I think it's so damn cool that when David Freese hit that Game 6 walk-off in 2011 and said "We will see you tomorrow night!" it was almost exactly 20 years prior that his dad, Jack Buck, called Kirby Puckett's Game 6 walk-off with those same words.
I remember watching the Cubs v Nationals game and my wife asked why I still had it on…my reply was “it just takes one swing” and I pointed to the sky like Bote while watching it go over the wall. I’ll never forget that slam
Big Papi, game 2 of the 2013 ALCS. The Sox already lost game 1 to the Tigers’ Ace. Facing a series 0-2 deficit against that vaunted Detroit pitching staff. 8th inning, down 5-1 and facing almost certain doom. David Ortiz comes up with the bases loaded and hits a grand slam to their closer, Joachim Benoit, who hadn’t given up a single home run all year. I swear to God that ice ran through the veins of that man. That was one of the most epic, if not *THE* most epic homerun I have ever seen. It wasn’t a walkoff but it was still clutch
I always followed David Ortiz because he has my younger brother's (who passed at a young age) first and last name. he made me proud of following him ever since he was a Twin.

13:10 The Pirates walking it off in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series against the Yankees. "I'll never make the mistake of turning 70 again" - Casey Stengel
I would have ended it with Mazeroski. Carter’s team was trailing, but it was Game 6 and Carter himself was a strong hitter. Mazeroski was Game 7, and nobody would have expected him to go yard. Also, Boone’s Game 7 homer>Papi’s Game 4 homer. Papi’s started the 3-0 comeback, but Boone’s homer literally won the pennant in a winner take all game. And speaking of pennant winning homers, as much as it hurts me, I’m shocked Altuve’s pennant winning homer wasn’t here. It’s too iconic and recent to leave out.
I think the Bote one is more epic than some of the postseason ones. Bottom of the 9th, down 3, bases loaded, 2 outs, 2 strikes and he hits a pinch hit grand slam. Every kid playing baseball growing up dreams of that moment.
Nelson Cruz, David Freese, David Ortiz, Adolis Garcia, Joe Carter, Magglio Ordoñez, Bryce Harper, Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, Evan Longoria, Yordan Alvarez some of the most epic walk off home runs whether in regular or post season.. Longoria's wasn't shown
