You all are a good team with the possibility of becoming great. Also, no one saw the Rangers coming last year so double whammy for you last year. Keep your chin up.
I hope the front office saw another division title get lost tonight, also hope they saw the Yankees celebrate in our ballpark and clubhouse. Now, tonight, Garver and JP cost us this game. Twice they both had chances to drive in runners, and they both failed. JP should’ve never returned to the lineup, Leo Rivas should’ve been in the lineup.

With respect to the 1-run games, I agree 110%! I have long said that one can tell the character of a team by how the handle 1-run games; if they win the majority then you have a championship quality team, but the reverse is just as true. In the first half of the season the Mariners were winning something crazy like 80 to 90% of those games! (Thanks primarily to the pitching, but it was shockingly consistent.) JP shouldn’t have been in the leadoff after being on the IL June and August, but the M’s continued to him at leadoff. Putting Robles in leadoff was too little too late.
Astros fan here, and have subscribed to this channel some time ago. I think the worst part is how good Seattle's pitching staff has been and they are still missing the playoffs. When a 3rd year player is supposed to be your biggest offensive threat (Julio Rodriguez) that presents a big challenge. The Mariners just seem to not be able to build a capable lineup and not sure how they are going to improve that.
Thank you, J for everything.....we known for a while but that was a tough one, exactly this season in a nutshell up and down, cant bring runners in, inconsistency, i bet J.P and Garver are gone next year, Logan might also be on the block as well but we will see, thanks for a great 162 games but if this is my last time chatting with people here in the comments. I wissh a good offseason thank you all and im gonna go reminisce now. See you all on in February, lets go have a exciting FA weekend! It sucks really thought this team had it in them this year...... we will see what we got but these last four games gotta be played. Sometimes you gotta be able to hit good pitching like our pitching rotation tries to do to others but they dont succed.
We gotta organize as fans to do SOMETHING to tell jerry to fk off next season. I was thinking of making shirts that said “jerry” with the name crossed out and the dyme def “yuck” logo lol
I am an Astros fan and a Texan living in the PNW, I always get nervous when H-town plays Seattle. M's pitching staff is spectacular and something to envy. I seriously thought the Mariners were going to run away with the division after the Stros were 10 games back. But as the saying goes...the Astros are inevitable. They always find a way to win. Good luck next season to Seattle, actually, no. Lol
How Julio Rodriguez struck out when it matters is indicative of how Seattle is not ready. I'm a Stro. Seattle's problem is cheap ownership. They pay some heavy hitters with that pitching rotation then, watch out. You have a serious contender.
Astros fan but baseball fan first. I’d love to see the Mariners in the playoffs, their fans deserve it, and they’ve become a consistent good team recently. As you say, this was a missed opportunity. The AL wild card teams are not very strong this season, and the Astros are down a bit too. In the past the Mariners fans thought the team just lacked one more player, maybe two. This year it seems it was there for them, but they lost their way after a great beginning. Lick your wounds and come again next year. I’m not convinced that the Rangers have built a winning team, and the Astros could easily fall off a little more. Keep up hope!
I also hoped they watched. It’s unfair to this amazing pitching staff, to expect them to be so the lifesaver, when they’ve literally been keeping this team in this thing all season. Disappointing to say the least…. It as always- Go Mariners ⚾️⚾️⚾️
U said "small ball". I agreed, with this ball park, that is how this team should be built. I think the worst thing that happened to Crawford was hitting 20 homers last year. He's not a power hitter. End of season conference is going to be interesting.
Congrats Astros fan from a Mariners fan on AL West clinch. No matter how pathetic the Mariners collapse was the Astros rise to the top was impressive. I hope the Mariners learned something from the Astros that the moment you give up is the very moment you lose. This is why I STILL say 2024 World Series: Mariners vs Dodgers But before that can happen Mariners need to win these last four games and after that... REMATCH SERIES: MARINERS VS ASTROS. It's gonna be interesting.
Whether the M’s make the playoffs or not, we’ll look back at all the missed opportunities that could have been. One, what if M’s played 500 ball between June 19 to August 21 instead of 20-33? Second, what if M’s didn’t lose 5 of 6 to the Tigers? Third, what if Julio did not have those base running mistakes last week and in June ? Fourth, what if the M’s were able to sweep the Rangers last weekend holding a 5-0 lead at one point on Sunday? I feel that the M”s lack the focus and maturity to win.
Julio and JP killed them. Injuries to bullpen - Brash especially, major setback. Poor hitting, leading the league in strikeouts. Poor base running, bad Manager decisions resulting in a termination; Off season free agents and trades bombed. The Astros were decimated with injuries, they still caught Seattle, and won the division. Same old story.
I’ve been an M’s fan long enough to see that the Mariners being red hot in May is fools gold. They do it every single season, and it’s why Houston owns our division.. because they realize that the Aug/Sept games are the wins that matter. Dan Wilson won’t change anything. We need new ownership. One playoff appearance in 23 seasons is simply pathetic.
We are cleaning house this offseason to make room for the youth movement. See ya to both Mitch's, Polo. Maybe sign Bregman in FA. Trade Castillo for a bat call up Evans, Ford, Emerson, and Locklear, and make JP earn his roster spot. Dan and Edgar's construction will be awesome next year for the 47th time lol.
Honestly, I dont think anything changes next year or in the years beyond. We saw them walk us off in the ALDS, and we watched them kick our ass last year to win the division. This franchise is cursed and I am almost done watching them. I started in 2014, and restarted in 2021.
J one more “for the Road” … we gave it our best shot at the end but we literally self-destructed in June, July and August so WHAT would we expect otherwise? We CHOKED big time and frankly deserve this outcome … agreed that Logan has been underwhelming in the recent outings … but basically it was a “team effort” in the loss as you said … we’ll probably end up a game out of the Wild Card to rub salt in the wound … typical Mariners … agreed with you stating that Garver and JP should SIT the rest of the year because they were pathetic … Mariners 2025 🙏🙏
@@Js_Trident_Podcast gonna be following you on Seahawk podcasts this season … at least we (hopefully) have room for optimism - but then again we were 10 games up in the rest of the division on June 23rd too - was that the correct date of our INVINCIBLE lead?
After such a dominant performance by Miller last night. Just disappointing. And Julio playing hero ball at the last moment. Just so many chances and so many misses. Looking forward to following you into the next season.
I really hope next year they just let Raley start against lefties, i know his splits indicate he's best suited as platoon bat, but I would like to see him get the chance to be an everyday player. There's no reason Garver should be in the lineup unless it's to relieve Cal Raleigh of his catching duties for a game. Count your losses with Garver, and just use him for the one thing he can offer, his presence in the lineup today along with J.P. is probably what lost this game. Oh well, in a weird way I'm happy that the final nail was driven into the coffin of this season.
Mitch Garver had two chances with runner on third with one out First - double play Second - pop up Why was he even playing today even with lefty Valdez on the mound
'Stros fan. Two weeks before Servais was fired I asked Mariners fans in another site if they thought Servais might be fired. Got my answer quickly. Now...How well or bad have the Mariners been after he got canned? Is this new manager just an interim guy or is Mariners front office going to hire someone else?
The problem is they gave this guy the “interim position” under one condition. His one condition was he is the coach for the entire next year. The the Ms ownership accepted that. We aren’t doing any search
We've improved since Scott was canned... that said it's more likely due to the fact that Scott was protecting our 29 year-old "hitting" "coach" Jarret DeHart who was one of the biggest reasons we couldn't stop striking out. For the interim, Edgar Martinez was brought back as hitting coach, someone who did the job well before our GM drove him off and has done a great job since coming back. The new manager is team legend Dan Wilson, who has little managerial experience but good relations with certain players (and also is probably the only reason his old teammate Edgar was willing to become the hitting coach again even temporarily). Seattle is not getting an experienced manager anytime soon; our GM Jerry Dipoto wants to call the shots and needs a manager who doesn't know any better to get away with it (refer to Mike Scoscia's manhandling of Jerry back with the Angels). One of Jerry's first moves as Mariners' GM was to sack Lloyd McClendon for then-unexperienced Scott Servais, after all.

Sports are always emotional, that's why we watch! Sometimes it's jubilation, sometimes you get your heart ripped out.
As a Houston Astros fan since birth. I know how it feels to be frustrated for a very long time. I fee for the Mariner fans.
Thank you for calling out Gilbert and not just the offense like most do...even though they have been bad....Gilbert made me pull my hair out
Polanco heating up now is the cherry on top lmao
Buenas noches amigo todabia noestan fuera los mariners sigen vivos saludos desde mexico😊
Bro, the Seattle Mariners have been watching the Houston Astros celebrate for the past 7 years.
All you have to do is see this guys face before you click on him on UA-cam and it tells whole story 😂
I also hoped they watched. It’s unfair to this amazing pitching staff, to expect them to be so the lifesaver, when they’ve literally been keeping this team in this thing all season. Disappointing to say the least…. It as always- Go Mariners ⚾️⚾️⚾️
enjoyed the content all season - 2025, the season where Mariners batters hit above career averages 🤞
As an Astros fan, don’t think we could have won without the help of Crawford.
Garver, Haniger and Crawford are owed close to $40 million next season. What a disaster.
As someone who has been a mariners fan my whole life fuck 2025. 20 plus year playoff droughts dont happen by mistake
U said "small ball". I agreed, with this ball park, that is how this team should be built. I think the worst thing that happened to Crawford was hitting 20 homers last year. He's not a power hitter. End of season conference is going to be interesting.
Sub here, your analysis is great. For me after Scott is gone I really have nothing to hate about the Mariners. I beat the team will do better now
JP needs to be DFA’d tonight
He fucking sucks
My Oh Why said Jason Heyward probably ended both Scott Servais’s job and the Mariner’s post season hopes. What a brutal realization.
😂 Maybe he'll be a Mariners manager someday as consolation
As Dave would say, our division dreams, “FLY AWAY! FLY AWAY! FLY AWAY!!!”
Congrats Astros fan from a Mariners fan on AL West clinch.
No matter how pathetic the Mariners collapse was the Astros
rise to the top was impressive.
I hope the Mariners learned something from the Astros
that the moment you give up
is the very moment you lose.
This is why I STILL say
2024 World Series:
Mariners vs Dodgers
But before that can happen Mariners need to win these last four games and after that...
REMATCH SERIES:
MARINERS VS ASTROS.
It's gonna be interesting.
Sea Us Rise I mean Sea Us SINK!
As an Astros fan, I find you to be one of the most reasonable rival fan out there. Respect.
Appreciate that! Thank you!
Are we mathematically out of a 54% win rate????😅
Haha sadly I think so
Crawford and Garver killed us most this game
We are cleaning house this offseason to make room for the youth movement. See ya to both Mitch's, Polo. Maybe sign Bregman in FA. Trade Castillo for a bat call up Evans, Ford, Emerson, and Locklear, and make JP earn his roster spot. Dan and Edgar's construction will be awesome next year for the 47th time lol.
Sorry to hear about your jersey if true. Houston has its bad apples just like every other city
Way to go Astros🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you again my friend !!!! Well said all around !!!
@@Js_Trident_Podcast gonna be following you on Seahawk podcasts this season … at least we (hopefully) have room for optimism - but then again we were 10 games up in the rest of the division on June 23rd too - was that the correct date of our INVINCIBLE lead?
Mitch Garver, goodbye.
Bro Rivas was playing well I get Crawford is the “shortstop” but this point in the season he’s been awful go with the guy who gives you good at bats.
I feel you. Disappointing. Highs and lows. Maybe next year.
Astro fan here…great podcast…if you ever want to switch allegiances, we will take you.
Haha never, the Mariners have me, the kind words are very much appreciated though!!
Mitch Garver had two chances with runner on third with one out
First - double play
Second - pop up
Why was he even playing today even with lefty Valdez on the mound
Also, Julio and Robles' mistakes on the bases cost the mariners
Great show. Informative and interesting. Coming from a lifelong STROS FAN!!
