      Great video. Can you make a video on best protein shakes for people with insulin resistance? Most protein powders/premade contain sunflower oil.

    I appreciate that you focus on going low carb instead of calling it just keto, I feel like the word keto has been "demonized" so much that it makes people not want to give it a try, so much so that even obesity specialists demonize it sometimes 😅 instead of focusing on the benefits that a low carb diet has for real, personally I didn't even choose to start doing keto on my own, it was just to me by a doctor and I was skeptical at first exactly for the reason I mentioned before but the more I learned about it the more I could see that it was not just about losing the weight but actually helping me manage my insulin resistance, that's why I never go around and try to "convert" people to keto because I genuinely Believe that it's really not completely necessary for all types of people and I think it's unfortunate that most people just "use it" as something temporary to lose weight and not for all the health benefits it actually has

    I discovered your channel yesterday and have watched just about all your videos, I can’t get enough! Thanks so much Kait, I’m learning so much from you. I am insulin resistant but haven’t received any clear advice on diet from my doctors, they have only offered me prescriptions. I realise I have been doing it all wrong so will now change my diet, I’ve just made my first order on Butcher Crowd, I’m in Australia so I’m so happy to have found them.

    Thank you for this !! I’m working on insulin resistance and your videos are helping me stay on track. I’m doing and using everything you said here…the only difference is that I’m trying to get to a one meal a day plan and just a little concerned that I might not be getting enough protein and fat.. my one meal consists of a piece of meat and a vegetable…today is a pork chop cooked in avocado oil and asparagus also In avocado oil and Parmesan cheese. Any suggestions on one meal a day plans? PS I did have mushroom coffee with clarified butter and cream around 10 this morning.

      What works for me for my OMAD is i eat a 3 egg ommellete filled with Mince and cheese and 1 avocado I eat once a day after 12pm and that keeps me full till the next day. If I eat a salad I don't make it to the following day.

    The days my insulin surge high, I just don't eat until it go down under 90, no matter how hungry I am. I go for a long brisk walk and swim 40 minutes. Definitely kill it. And when starting to eat again, eat small portions of lean protein and veggies, consuming slowly to prevent insulin roller coaster

    Question...
    As a cancer survivor. I have issues digesting meats. I can have a little, but not a lot. I did high protein low carbs the first few years after chemo, and gained 40 pounds, and had lots of digestive problems. Any suggestions?

      That doesn't make any sense that you reduced carbs and gained weight. Did your fat intake go up or your exercise routine change?

      Your body can turn proteins into glucose/sugars. I’ve noticed several diabetics talk about how they went carnivore or low carb high protein and it spiked their blood sugar and I believe the theory is that when you eat over a certain amount of grams of protein at once, your body can turn it to glucose to store it as fat. That’s what I believe the breakdown was. One individual said that eating over 80grams of protein in a day whacked their blood sugar out caused them diabetes issues. Personally, I struggle with all of it and know that I MUST count calories or i overeat. Also, I know people who do keto and overeat the fat and gain weight. Some of us simply have to do calorie counting.

    Does Butcher Crowd ship to Canada, and if so, how do they ensure their product remains fresh?
    I have not researched if there are suppliers in Canada equivalent to Butcher Crowd; Perhaps you are already familiar?
    Also, you mention avoiding carbs. What is your view on creating resistance starch by refrigerating high carbs foods after cooking for at least 24 hrs thereby changing the carbs so they do not break down into sugar, and are not absorbed by the small intestine; therefore, do not cause insulin spikes, and may be beneficial to the microbiome? Do you believe this is possible?

      Don’t have to be keto, although that can work. Just be smart about carbs if you are going to include them.

    Thoughts on the recent vegan / omnivore twin study?
    Vegan group lowered insulin more than omnivore despite eating more carbs and fat mix more towards PUFA than SFA.
    Goes against most of what you say! Seems like it’s more about calories…

      You can’t come to any conclusion off one study. The totality of evidence supports low carb being more effective at reversing IR than high carb. I have helped 100s of clients reverse IR with this approach ❤️

      No, the opposite. Our bodies need cholesterol. Limiting dietary cholesterol has been debunked. Even the US dietary guidelines removed it as a nutrient of concern in 2015 and no longer recommend limiting it (other countries never had it as a nutrient of concern).
