    You are the absolute best!! I’ve been binge watching and learning from you since last week and I’ve followed your advice and I’m finally under 200lbs. I’ve been maintaining it for the past year and couldn’t go under.
    You taught me that I was eating wrong and then I followed your instructions and now I’m burning the fat. I appreciate you and Christine from Gauge Girl Training so very much for guiding my new life of health and wellness.

    I recently started Keto fasting and I'm making great progress. It was very frustrating never knowing how to eat correctly. And not knowing which fad diet actually works without starving.

    You are doing Great, with the New Format !!! Very Informative & Presentation is Excellent! I am a Senior Male, in my 73rd year,& enjoy all this info on anything T2D, or I/R is music to my ears! I am taking 3, sometimes 4 insulin shots daily, & want to get off Insulin, if I can at all....I was fasting & lost 35 lbs, trying to do Keto Diet. Then I kind of crashed, & gained back a few pounds....SO, I hear maybe I didn't give my body enough time to adjust maybe....So" back on track now" 60% Fat, 20 % Carbs ,20 %, Protein ,& doing good & certainly hoping for a "Better Change of Habits", as I am blessed so far with no other serious Health issues, so want to try to Head off or slow down further issues, ( ie, Kidneys, Pancreas, Dementia, & of course Cardiovascular issue if possible.... Enough already, Hi from Canada, & keep those Great Podcasts coming.... You have Great Presentation Skills!!! Thank Again... Allie...

    Thank you for explaining insulin resistance. I've heard the term a lot but didn't quite know how it worked. And the scariest part is that we may not be aware of it for 10 years before the signs show up. Thank you also for the tips on how to combat it, and the encouragement that it can be reversed. I appreciate your shared knowledge!

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  11 днів тому +2

      Well the signs start to show up earlier, but it won’t be until 10+ years that blood sugar goes up. In the meantime all other blood tests can look “normal”. Glad you found this video helpful ❤️❤️

    Hi Kait, I really loved your informative video. I also felt very sad because over the past ten years I started putting on weight at an alarming rate. I went to my doctor on several occasions to try and find out why but was often fobbed off with the eat less and move more. I always knew it was something more than this. The final straw was in June 2023 I experienced annoying tingling in my feet so I went to the doctor. Various tests were done and it was at that point I was diagnosed with T2D. I was devastated. To add insult to injury it turned out that in my medical notes it showed that I had an elevated HBA1C 5 years prior and was never told. In fact I wasn’t even familiar with what diabetes was. I ended up learning everything there is to know and went on a very strict keto diet and completely cut out alcohol. I lost 4 stone and reversed T2D. I have reached a plateau which I’m working on but I really wish I had seen your video years ago.

    I used to eat really late into the night, a lot of times I'd even eat at 1 or past 1 am. I thought I was just a "night owl" and that's how my body functioned. Now after many warning signs, I realize I'm not a night owl and need to get my act together. I've had skin tags, darkened skin around my neck and armpit (only right armpit), and the big belly has been a part of me since my mid 20's. I used to be able to lose my belly by simply stopping soda and drinking only water, but this last time that I tried to do it, it had no effect on my belly/weight loss. I had to change my diet, exercise daily (walk), and give up the "drinking on the regular" lifestyle. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention: the reason I'm changing my lifestyle is because my eyes started changing color - the sclera is no longer white. Hopefully I can reverse whatever it is that caused all of those symptoms.

    Some great info there Kait. Always has puzzled me why allopathic doctors are ignorant of fasting insulin. Both fasting blood sugar and insulin should be tested together. Enjoying the podcast format. I think most conditions can be cleared by getting off hyper processed foods, added sugar, grains and seed oils.

      More carbs = more sugar = more insulin.
      That makes things very simple -- stay under 20g total carbs/day.
      Eat whatever you want so long as you stay under 20g total carbs
      That's a good starting point.
      You can clean up what you are eating over time.

  • @sdeaglefeather
    @sdeaglefeather 11 днів тому +1

    People mention elevated insulin levels. But no one mentions what is high or the range.
    What is considered elevated?
    I started seeing a bariatric MD in Nov, but he left in December.
    He ordered a fasting insulin and mine was 10.
    My FBS and A1c are gradually going up. (FBS 114 and A1c 5.6)
    HDL/Triglyceride ratio is 2.5.
    I have metabolic syndrome:
    HTN (130/70 off meds and 120s/60s to 70s on meds)
    Hypercholesterolemia
    And elevated FBS and A1c
    I’m 70 yo, 5’6” and weigh around 189.
    I was doing well with lowering carbs but fell off when I went to see the eclipse and am having a hard time getting back on track.
    I guess I’m just wondering why people mention high insulin but do not provide people with the range and a “normal”value.
    Thank you for this information.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  11 днів тому +5

      Anything above 3 signifies some insulin resistance. Above 5 is considered high. Sorry for not including it in the video! I have no doubt you are going to be able to get back on track in no time. Choose one small change to make this week and build off of that ❤️

      @HealthCoachKait  11 днів тому +2

      What part do you need clarification on? How much sleep do you get every night? It is common to have to pee more during the night as we getting older. The hormones that suppress nighttime urination decrease as we age. You are definitely not doomed! Do what you can to improve your sleep. As I said in the podcast, make sure you give yourself a minimum of 7 hours of time to sleep each night.

    Some influencers say Eating fat can cause insulin resistance and diabetes just like carbs can ? Say fat goes straight into fat cells and leads to it … this is all making me nervous eating keto ?? So much conflicting info … also hear it’s gonna inc cortisol leading to thyroid problems??

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  9 днів тому +1

      The evidence is pretty clear that low carb improves insulin sensitivity. I have seen this with 100s of clients. Lab results don’t lie 🫶 This new trend to lower cortisol is bananas. We want a cortisol spike in the morning - it energises us. Chronic high cortisol is a concern of course. Thyroid also not a concern. Dr Jaime Seeman has a good video somewhere how even though her patients sometimes see changes in thyroid levels it doesn’t change function and isn’t bad.
