Exactly what I was looking for thanks!
Anytime xd
Same😀!
I had 28MB video, Using your settings i got 216MB
the same happened to me
@Raseraa 25mb for Facebook dummy
Haha same here
Reduce bit rate to fix this.
thank you so much, I was having trouble on how to reduce file size from 130gb, it's now at 3.3gb and still has amazing quality
the re-encoding of cellphone camera video footage using constant framerate on handbrake just saved me from a big issue with audio and video frame rates drifting away, then together and away. An absolute life-saver for video editing!!!! I watched a video from a guy using Adobe Premier to fix this issue and Handbrake was no less than 5X easier.
NICE VIDEO JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!
Using your exact settings 👍👍
I'm glad to hear that! (: I use these settings for all my videos! I hope the video quality looks good :)
this video saved my channel, I was not willing to upload gameplay videos for 3-4 hours, and now , I don't have to.
Very helpful! Thanks for the tutorial.
Appreciate the video, cheers!
what quality did you recorded?
1440p 60fps and what cqp/cfr?
Thanks for the help man!
thANK YOU SO MUCH U REALLY HELPED
Thanks a bunch, my dude!
Hey bro , thank u so much for this video , saved me
FOR A 50 SECOND VIDEO I SHOULD NOT BE IMPRESSED ( COMPRESS A 2 HOUR MOVIE AND THEN SHOW US HOW MUCH IT REDUCES THE FILE SIZE ) THANKYOU VERY MUCH
Yeah 😆
use rf slider 30
used these settings just now for a 22min recording of gameplay. No editing, just raw compression on the source and it went from 3.83Gb to 1.24Gb shaving off 2.59Gb so it's decent and the render time was only 5 1/2 minutes instead of H.264 taking nearly 30min for the same size.. H.265 has a much higher compression ratio, it's actually really good so far. I mean I was only testing it in 1080p but it's basically 1/3 the size of the original.. H.264 in the past has maybe halved the original filesize but 1/3 is great.. especially with Australian upload speeds lol..
@@Twizted86 that is very very shit. The video shows the guy went from 5gb to 140mb...
Great video man! Quick question let’s say I record already game footage in 4K with nvidia with the resolution of the game being 3840x2160 but I wanted to downscale it to 1080p so the file size wouldn’t be that big. What do you think is best? To export my 4K footage in 1080p and then decode on handbrake or leave it at 4K when rendering and then decode to 1080p on handbrake? Would appreciate any advice
it's easyer to record in 1080p directly. Or Just put the file into a video editor and then export downscaled.
@@SamuelDetoni thanks for the advice brother
Do you use handbrake before or after rendering
Do you know what GPU and CPU you had at time of creating this? Because now it's showing in description you have amd gpu :) So I just want to know if you used old (before Turing) nvenc or the new one. Is the file size and time of encoding depending on CPU even when you use GPU encoding (I think so, but not sure)?
Amd graphics cards don't have nvenc
hello there!
I have a question. I am recording at 1080p but rendering at 1440 just to get the better youtube codec. I have a 45gb video and did as you said in handbreak but it only came out as a 30gb video. I should say that I just now downloaded it and the interfase and settings seem to be a little changed from your video.
What sould i do to get a smaller gb video but not drop extremely the quality?
Thanks for making this video!
no problem!
finally thank you so much
THANK YOU!👍👌
Thank you man
For some reason Premiere Pro hates when I bring in videos that are 3840 x 1080 and encoding it has not worked for me. I used all the settings you used and I feel like it could possibly be I'm using the wrong video codec? My options are
H.264 (x264), H.264 10-bit (x264), H.264 (Nvidia NVEnc), MPEG-4, MPEG-2, H.265 (x265), H.265 12-bit (x265), H.265 10-bit (x265), and H.265 (Nvidia NVEnc).
I edit everyday for myself, for beckbrojack, and popularmmos so it's very upsetting that Premiere keeps having this terrible playback issue and I'm at a loss for words on what to do. I even tried downgrading Premiere, but still no results. If you could help me out I can't tell you how much I would appreciate it 🙏🙏🙏
thanks broooo,i love u😘😘😘😘
Thank you!!💞
Your so welcome! ♥️
Thanks so much... Good day too❤
Have a nice day
Is there any source for a better video if you're using h.265? Because using NVENC costs decrease quality instead of x264/x265 and the smaller file is only worth it if you have a really, really slow internet connect. And afaik youtube will convert it to h.264 after the upload.
thank u as an ae editor i will obey you daddy
Hahaha thank you ‼️
g8 vid mate
will this work for 4k raw footage? I cant import certain .mov clips into premiere
Will this work for the HEVC format from GoPro 9? It was shot at 4K 60fps
👍 In which size u uploaded this video?
that was a great video!
BTW plz use some audio filters for your mic
it irritates me
wolfsickness ...im struggling. the first time i did this it worked quickly. now its saying estimated time to upload is over 2 hours to finish on handbrake. whats different on my settings is the fact that i dont have nvidia, so i tried h.265 10 bit, and also tried regular h.264 codec. my dimisions are only 720 x 480. can anyone please offer advice? im only uploading a 13 minute video. using a ten year old sony handycam dcr -sr47 video camerathats hardly been used.
thanks brother
Thank you so much, since I moved to after effects for editing I've been wondering how to be able to export it at better fps and quality because it kept going to 30 😭
was the quality still good when u put it through instagram n did u use creator studio?
@@cybercore1243 I uploaded my recent one to my youtube, idk about my Instagram rn so I might post it there too
Resolves renders what ever your source footage is
Is Web Optimized option under the SUmmary tab worth it or is that not relevant due to UA-cam's own backend processing?
I can do a comparison video in the future if you'd like?
I keep getting the queue finished with 3 errors or cancelations detected. I had to change that Nvidia codec. For some reason, it isn't working even though I have Nvidia video card that's 4k compatible.
how do you do it without reducing the file size? i want to de interlace without any difference to the file whatsoever, I just want what I have deinterlaced. I want NOTHING compressed. Seeing the file so much smaller just bothers me.
video codec with graphics card is faster than CPU... thanx u so much dude
Quality is definitely worse encoding on GPU vs CPU at the same bitrate, be wary.
Why can't I change the width and height to make it higher than 1280 and 720, please help me :(
Just changing a .mov mkv itself reduces the file heavily. It's just just a matter of handbrake compression.
Thanks for the help. New UA-camr here.
No problem 👍
01:50 using the Nvidia Codec. Handbrake will not render. I am thinking it may be because ffmpeg is not installed?
idk the quality was greatly lost for me but nice vid
Hey I have a question. I recorded a 1080p vid. I rendered it like you said. Also in 1440p in hope to get the vp9 encoder. When rendered it was 50gb big. I put it in Handbrake and now it's only 9gb big but still massive. Did I do anything wrong?
how long is the video?
@@admiredgsu1217 10 minutes or so
@@FunnyUro then it should be a pretty big file, it did its job
50gb for 10 min video is massive. Just like AdmiredGSU12 said, Handbrake did a good job
Try recalculate the bitrate. 6000kbps is known best for 1080p@30fps
x1.5 to doubled if its 1440p from 1080p bitrate (doubled if its 60fps)
double if its 2k from 1440p (doubled if its 60fps)
double if its 4k from 2k (doubled if its 60fps)
if its still massive to you, consider to sacrifice more bitrate at the cost of grainy result of darker area by using 18-20 crf
Ooooh God 1.45 GB converts the handbrake about 6 hours, I even left it almost as it is. Frame rate: Same as source, constant quality on 23. I convert a film 1080p. Am I doing something wrong, right? My PC (AMD Phenom (tm) II X4 965 Processor 3.40 Ghz, 64 Bit, 16 GB Ram)
tysm
oh this was created on my birthday (:
my video coder list on handbrake doesn't have the H265 Nvidia NVE it has several other options: H265, H265 10-bit, H265 12-bit, H265 (video toolbox), H265 10-bit (video toolbox)............so which should I choose on these options???????maybe one of the video toolbox options?
Depends on your hardware
He has an nvidia card so he has that option
ty, h.265 was the last piece of the cake that i coulnt find out.
USE THE LATEST VERSION OF HANDBRAKE AND GO TO VIDEO TAB , CODEC AND THEN YOU WILL SEE H.265
Thanks
Could i upscale 480 p to 1080 p
mxf files are a pain😭 i'm gonna try this because my settings made trash quality miniscule files
I use HB it is great program 10/20gb get rendered to 350-400mb and it is in 1080p great work! 😊😁
I'd recommend 1440p as get vp9
@@Wolfsickness Yea that is true to avoid pixelation on video.
@@grimreaper9853 or 1080p 60 as that is also vp9
UA-cam specifies the files should be H.264.. i thought using alternative formats could potentially affect the outcome of the upload (youtube would have to convert it).
Just use h264 dude kinda mislead with that
Dose this works for UA-cam videos ?
What we know YT is crashing video quality. So, if i record my video in 1080p60 should i upscale it to 1440? If YES then export in 1440p in davincii and use Hanbrake or Davincii 1080p and upscale in Hanbrake to 1440?
record in 1080p render in 1440p handbrake in 1440p
thanks for the vid.....I'm using your suggestions with great results but please provide suggestions re audio settings. I notice I'm not able to retain the audio quality of original source
Change it to stereo and 320kbps or higher
AAC-LC 192-256 Kbps is best known audio quality. not necessarily to be 320kbps unless the source is in PCM, WAV (Uncompressed) format.
What time you streaming?
20gb left on cod so about an hour!! 4 hour stream today (:
Wolfsickness ok
Does HDR info come across?
Does Handbrake support a source HEVC video of 120 fps?
yes
Why i see something wrong in here?. 18 can give you BIG file zize not smaller, trust me,i normally have render 30gb video to 23 and it's 20gb,30 is almost 10gb,why you say 18 can give you small files since i have 30gb and on 23 gives me 20gb and not 13gb at least?,
so above 18 is not better in quality ?
I love you.
Love yoi
With AMD the h265 Version doesn't have the option between slow, fast and so on. What should I select?
same lol
generally the slowest options usually make the smallest filesize so whatever takes the longest will be your smallest i guess? takes time to compress stuff.
odd.. I used a 4GB file & added subtitles prior to running.. End result was a 12GB file...?
Duz anyone talk about the audio or just the quality of a movie
Quick question. What was the filesize of this video?
400mb
how do you not lose quality going from handbrake to UA-cam? My video looks great after handbrake but as soon as I upload to UA-cam it's trashed and has lots of artifacting and is grainy. Any idea?
upload in 1440p or higher,1080p videos are being given a shitty encoder by youtube if you a smaller youtuber so the work around is to upload 1440p or higher,so in short just upscale your 1080p videos to 1440p and upload,
@@ASHEGAMING Yee figured out that trick to use vp9 encoder. Seems like my shorts get vp9 no matter what though. Thanks for the reply tho brother 👍
you compress videos on handbrake, therefore, once you upload to youtube, they basically compress with their own algorithm. which is compressed video, is getting recompressed even more. the best quality possible for youtube is basically the result default render setting from your video editing.
i recommend 6000-8000kbps for 1080p@30fps with Variable Framerate setting. double the fps if you went 2k and doubled again from 2k if you went 4k vice versa. this way, your youtube video has the best result for the streaming platform itself.
you dont compress below 6000kbps for 1080p video if its for the youtube, youtube does it for you. but i understand it cost of the data you will using and/or the time it takes to upload.
Handrake is basically useful ONLY from RAW source. like your camera for a better editing.
or you are compressing them for personal archive.
@@UjangBoyor Thanks I appreciate the thorough explanation! Thankfully Adobe Premiere gets it to a decent size after rendering for me as well.
@@UjangBoyor Completely wrong on almost everything you said. The issue is the codex on youtube. 1080p videos with under 100k views get a shitty codex by youtube that makes them ultra low quality. Uploading in 1440p or higher puts them in the vp9 codex which lets them play at full quality. UA-cam does not compress further it just gives a different codex for lower quality videos on playback.
22.8gb of 30 so it´s wrong, lke for trying to help but it´s wrong, normally many recommend 23/24 or if you want good quality but small zize it´s from 30 that i use before.
I have a GTX 1080 but no nvidia option, is intel qsv okay?
intel qsv is intel quicksync and yes does not matter which one you use
I cannot seem to be able to chnge the dimension to a 4k resolution in the dimension settings (it keeps going back to 1920..). Please what can I do?
ps: the original video is 4k
Bro when you set preset to same as source it will automatically take it to whatever dimensions of the video is...so try saving a preset then check it again
@@Sarvasresht_Pranav I eventually figured it out. Thanks for your helpful video!
Nice tutorial, but UA-cam butchers any valid comparison for before Handbrake vs after, because both are horribly compressed.
thats a very good point!! but obviously the higher the resolution the more bitrate youtube allocates to the video! :) Hope it helped!
I follow your settings and my 1.6gb file become 1.5gb. what is wrong with that?
Yahh me too
I have no audio, everything works and looks great, but I have no audio. Anybody please help?

hmmm does it have an update you need to do?
for some reason when i put my resolution to 1920x1080 (which is my aspect ratio) it shows up as 1448x882? i dont get it
I had a similar problem, but after tinkering I found the solution. Go to the Dimensions tab, under Cropping set it to Custom, and make sure all the boxes underneath show 0. This will allow it to render at the source dimensions, otherwise it will crop to the output dimensions shown.
@@majoraslayer64 my monitor resolution is 1366x768..
but in source it shows 1376x776 and in output i adjust 1280x720..it says 1277x720 why?
@@-Corvo_Attano what is the source video's resolution?
@@majoraslayer64 1366x768
I could be wrong about this, but I don't think Handbrake can upscale beyond the source resolution. However, you can import it into DaVinci Resolve and output a 1920x1080 file. I'm not sure how much it will help, it may be more of a placebo effect, but it will technically be a 1080 video.
What settings do we select for audio?
Should be automatic
if its for youtube AAC-LC with 256kbps bitrate, 44.1KHz or 48KHz. And make a 0.25 second delay on the Video (the audio is 0.25 early). because youtube will eliminate 0.25-0.5 second of your audio stream.
but if its for your personal archive, you can follow the uploader's settings.
It will be vp9 right?
As long as it's 1440p or higher

This is where you probably need a college degree in math or signal processing to understand how the codecs algorisms work. what you have here is very much a bad case. Having 5GB+ file to contain merely 57 seconds long video - not even in 4K, shows how bad (inefficient) the the original file was encoded.
