I first noticed him in There Will Be Blood and have been following him since. Currently watching Rome and I have to agree with you completely. Great actor, very underrated.
These two have the best on screen chemistry. I'm HUGE fan of Rome and remembered watching in in 2006 as the episodes came out. I knew Hinds was in this but was pleasantly thrilled when I saw Menzies on screen too. Such a GREAT show!
@@JackAShepherd I had (and still do to some degree) a HUGE crush on Varma. She was so beautiful in this and GoT. She had a minor role in the recent Kenobi series as well. Few people know this but there were actually talks of a Rome MOVIE in the works out there, right after the second season , where Vorenus survives his injuries (we never really see him die, it's just implied) and continues on with a plot that would have been written primarily by Bruno Heller. It sort of fell by the wayside though :(
Brutus is just as cute as Caesar. Brutus is just as smart as Caesar. People totally like Brutus just as much as they like Caesar, and when did it become okay for one person to be the boss of everybody, HUH? Because THAT'S NOT WHAT ROME IS ABOUT. We should totally just STAB CAESAR!!!
I’m watching the series for the 3rd time. I think it’s impossible to fully make all the connections the first time through, Lots of subtleties and attitudes make so much more sense when you see it again. Plus, I think i’m smitten with some of the actors. Yes!
Same! I've enjoyed rewatching it immensely and I can't wait to do it again with some friends who need to know about this show too -__- I shall bring them tv enlightenment!
I really fell hard for this series and I’m sad it’s only a one off and felt it could’ve been at least 2 episodes longer. Just finished the book and it ends verrrry differently! But about the 7th or 8th time around (sad?) I did catch Mr. Hind’s accent slip a bit into his natural voice when arguing with Crozier. Great show all around!
This was an awesome series. My feelings towards Tobias Menzies' character did a complete 180 over the course of the story (awesomely written and performed the whole way don't get me wrong). And his performance made me cry more than once.
The interviewer seems like he is on work experience. Great engagement by the actors mind you in their response & having watched the show, they are both very accomplished.
King of the FREE FOLK! Mance Rayder kicked ass, he carried this show as well! KIN is kicking ass! Keep it going brotha! Though you could retire now as a great body of work we all look forward to it!
Ciaran is always Frederick Wentworth from Persuation 1995 to me. Loved him in GOT too. Tobias was Mr Elliot in Persuation 2007. Loved him in Outlander too. Wow
Sir John and James Fitzjames were great characters, but fucking Mr Hickey... Every scene he was in leading up to and after the moment he snaps is just so chilling.
A good story but downside for me were the dark scenes where you couldn’t see anything and a lot of mumbling where you couldn’t make out what they said.
Good series, good actors ....though I think they could of done without the supernatural theme and the monster ...it kind of interrupted the true story it was based on..I thought it broke the build up of the characters losing their minds...I think it shows a respect to the names on board those ships but kind cheapens their ordeal adding the beast story...
i am a sailor, i saw the exhibition about the real life events at the greenwich maritime museum. im not a BT customer as BT are sh**. BUT I WANT TO SEE THIS SERIES!!!! no where to see it in the uk not even on amazon uk only amazone US! fukn BS!!!
Ciarán Hinds is surely one of the most underrated actors out there! He's performance in The Terror is first class to say the least!
Well-said!
I first noticed him in There Will Be Blood and have been following him since. Currently watching Rome and I have to agree with you completely. Great actor, very underrated.
Such a phenomenal show. With phenomenal actors. 👍👍

So many awesome folks in that series... Kevin McKidd, Ray Stevenson, Indira Varma

Such an incredible range Tobias has in his craft. One of my all time fav actors!

Agree. Should have went longer
it was too bad the 2nd season was crap

I loved it so much I read the novel... And I actually thought the novel kinda sucked
Shit monster
Looks like Caesar forgave Brutus for that stabby stabby at the senate floor

Looks like Edmure Tully got along great with Mance.

My favourite tv series ever. About 4 of my favourite characters in any tv program
Monumental actors. Ciaran Hinds never fails to be anything short of spellbinding. I was happy to see them both in this.
Is it me or Tobias Menzies and Ciaran Hinds always end up in the same shows (Rome, GoT, the Terror...)?
Probably because they have a contract with HBO or something?
I hope they bring Hinds into the Crown
What were they in got?
@@tupyu3876 Mance Rayder and Edmure Tully

Honestly Ciarán Hinds just seems so lovely.

Father and adopted son. Caesar and Brutus have forgiven one another!
He he.
Great series. Great escenario, great actors and great atmosphere. Always admired Ciaran Hinds. He is great in this and also the other actors.
Ciarán Hinds absolutely killed his Julius Caesar role in Rome.
These two pop up together all over the place first in Rome then in Game of thrones and now in the terror I really wanna see this series
lol Ciaran Hinds has that kind of voice where he always sounds like he's about to fall asleep.
These two are a great duo
One of the best shows I’ve ever watched. It’s absolutely brilliant
Just watched all of season 1. Phenomenal show. Highly recommend.
King of the FREE FOLK! Mance Rayder kicked ass, he carried this show as well! KIN is kicking ass! Keep it going brotha! Though you could retire now as a great body of work we all look forward to it!
First saw them both in HBO's Rome. Didn't think I'd see them together again now as British naval officers
Now all we need is Ciarin Hinds in the Crown
Brutus and Caesar back at it again
Tobias.....***fangirl moment**
Ughhh I know. Obsessed.
These guys should have Oscar's and movie should be a great horror TV show

Great performance.
they were both excellent but I think Mr Hickey will go far... if you're looking for a monster, it surely was him!
Wow!!! una serie espectacular, super recomendable, yo me enteré hace unos días de la serie y la recomiendo 100% de lo mejor, excelente.
Ummm you did not spell Ciarán Hinds right you forgot the Fada over the á.
It's amazing what a pair of old-fashioned side burns can do to a man.
Oscar winning acting and script
Emmy :-)
Pat buttram and claude Akins talk about David beckham and Steven gerrard
Ciaran Hinds will always be DCI James Langton to me. The sexiest character in TV or movie history. Bar none.
Debatable.
Brutus and Caesar together again 😊
Tobias is too adorable in Terror interviews, seems almost like another man completely, so playful!! I say, 19th century sailor fits him!!!
As does a naive Republican Roman senator and a sadistic 18th century dragoon captain. He fits any role.
hope to see one day rome season 3!!
Seriously!! Season 3 was much needed...
Caesar !!!!!
The Terror gates open
Person who likes shows about the Victorian era: “FORWARD MEN!”
It's caesar and Brutus!
'Really well made' it t'was, very well done of course...
Ciaran Hinds!!! Soooo classy!💙
A good story but downside for me were the dark scenes where you couldn’t see anything and a lot of mumbling where you couldn’t make out what they said.
These two were together in Rome, GOT and now the terror? Geez
We can safely now say that Hinds is no longer an underrated actor.
