I have been binge watching your vids while recovering from ACL surgery, they have really helped to distract me from my current predicament. You have some of the best vids about the planes on yt imo. And just when I basically watched all of them you upload this 40 minute banger.
Khalas also denotes 'ending' and 'complete' in Arabic. For the first layer of Gehenna to be referred to as 'the end' is both a lie and truth. It's the type of semantic elegance we appreciate from a yugoloth.
Watching this gets me back to what i grew up with my brother. D&D is what got me into science, history, and where we got everything from (including me and you out there). I would go on to love mythology and literature (including comics). It was my gateway drug. And I'm glad i was born here to enjoy it all. Hilarious this kid (now a grown Middle aged man) who didn't belong anywhere, found a place here. All of this was influenced by real life mythology and historical religious viewpoints (10K years worth worldwide).
Hey just wanted to say thanks. I have terrible insomnia and these help me sleep. The layout is interesting enough to keep my mind engaged but the layout doesn't leave me worried about missing anything by falling asleep.
Glad to hear! Most of the info is super tiny details that aren’t necessary unless you’re actively running a game there, so missing the info doesn’t matter. I sometimes worry my delivery is boring but in your case that’s a plus lol.
Thank you for bringing all this info together. Your research skills are exceptional. Gehenna has always been an enigma for me, finding bits here and there, it was frustrating. Neutral Evil needed a home.
Would love to see something on Carceri, its such a fascinating realm but doesnt get nearly as explored as it deserves to. And this vid juat inspired me to somehow tie it into my current campaign, many thanks
Glad to see a new video is out. Keep it up. Wish they frequency would increase, but nonetheless I'm estatic to listen to this video about another 5-10 times before the next is released.
My DM doesn't use the Divine exception of not being affected by planar effects. It may have been more of a mechanical balancing thing, but it made sense with his take on the Great Wheel lore.
@@golgarisoul ya it’s an odd and rather convoluted exception. I think it’s more fun to have it affect all magic. Sometimes it nerfs the casters but sometimes it makes them stronger, and it’s usually interesting. The priest limitations only nerf and not in a very engaging way in my opinion.
I'm always skeptical about supposedly "infinite" planes. For instance there are Demon Lords that supposedly rule entire infinite planes. How is that supposed to work? I mean, in our visible universe we have hundreds of billions of galaxies with, on average, hundreds of billions of stars. That's something like 10 billion trillion stars, and that's a volume that's effectively zero compared to a genuinely infinite universe, controlled by a power that seems unable to destroy even a single planet at will.
Maybe they don’t, and it’s just a lie they spread to make people fear them. I always pictured the planes as “small infinities”, as in you’re not gonna pass nothing for 10,000 years to get to Orcus’ palace. If you head a direction you’ll end up at a Point of Interest in a reasonable time. It technically goes on infinitely but only a small part is ever actually visited. I don’t know, the more I think about it the less it makes sense, but I don’t think the Planes are supposed to make sense to clueless primes like us.
I would treat most of the Abyssal Layers that are "Infinite" like Pazunia. If you walk past the northern edge of Pazunia you're teleported to the southern edge, or vice versa. Same with east or west, giving the illusion of an infinite plane, when in reality it's just an infinite loop of the same space. While the first layer is the only one explicitly stated to have physics that work this way, it solves allot of worldbuilding problems for infinite flat planes ruled over by demigod or below level beings
Oghma forgive me, I’m about to mispronounce a bunch of words.
Gehena is not a plane of mercy
A plane where everything is always at an angle is funny
Like a 60s Batman Villain lair lol

Wonderful insight!

Also, some day do more Planescape factions. They're fun.
I’ll get right on it, thank you so much!

You make this place seem interesting which is awesome
Love this video, I would love one on Pandemonium too if that's possible!!!

This is some great presentation
Great video, my BBEG in my planescape campaign is an Arcanloth, so I think my players will probably visit some of these locations eventually!
This is great stuff, thank you!
This is great! I hope to see you do Celestia of another upper plane, or perhaps an inner plane.
Juiblexite here. Good video as always man!
@@samuelciprispuches9548 Nice to see you here!

13:25 Ah yes, the Daemons. I refuse to call them that "Original Name Do Not Steal" word salad.
I'd love to see you do one of these lore videos on Carceri.
Eventually. My next one is Acheron but I’ll probably do Carceri after that.
❤❤❤ more we need a long abyss video and a long form Hades or nine hells video please. I love your videos
Well you’re in luck cause I’ve done all three of those!
@Genghis_Sean Wait did you already make them or you're going to make them and release
@@bryanboobaby I have an Abyss, Hades, and Nine Hells videos on my channel already; along with videos on each layer, demons, devils, and Yugoloths.

Gehenna valley was an ever burning trash pit of ancient Jerusalem and was synonymous with hell and filth in local folklore.
Great, great!
Thx for the video!
one question, what program did you use to edit your videos?
DaVinci Resolve. The best part about it is it’s free.
@@Genghis_Sean thx my dude, i will give it a try!
That seemed shorter than 42 minutes. In a good way, it means it's entertaining!
"Chama" means "flames" in Portuguese🤔 Self-explanatory name...
Thank you! I figured there was something behind the name but I couldn’t find anything.
