Do note that Lamashtu is a Demon Lord who has ascended to godhood while Baphomet is a Demon Lord which has not ascended so is not a god. Demon Lords are basically Demigods in power level. A god in pathfinder has no stats, as they are impossivle to combat. Baphomet however, could be slain by a mortal.
True story, my wife was playing an ranged character in our Wrath of the Righteous campaign and almost killed Baphomet with one shot (we have a home rule that if you roll three nat 20s in a row, you auto-kill whatever you just hit. She rolled two nat 20s and a 19). So close, but not quite good enough to kill a demon lord 🙂
@@thenewguyinred Generally speaking, barring any potential godlike interference, a slain demon lord reforms in their own realm shortly after death. If they are killed within a year of this revival, their death is permanent and their realm and purviews are forfeit for whoever is strong enough to claim them.
@thenewguyinred depends on who slays them and how. The Wrath of the Righteous video game (haven’t played the module in tabletop so i don’t know if it’s the same) has it where demon lords are nigh immortal unless they are killed inside that lords domain with the power of another demon lord.
so for example, if Baphomet is killed inside his domain by a mortal with mythical powers, he is severely weakened but not slain, whereas if a demon lord killed him he would be killed permanently.
Since I just noticed it, congrats on the 1K subs MythKeeper! The gods of Golarion comprise probably my favorite cohesive pantheon in RPGs and this is definitely my favorite series on their lore
The evil gods may be monsters, but at least they care enough about us to become involved in our personal lives. The only time the good deities make an appearance, is if something apocalyptic is going on!
Out of all the descriptions of the deities that fought and imprisoned rovagug given by his cultists, I think that describing asmodeus as "cowardly and smug" was probably the only one that actually wasn't total BS.
Mr Keeper, do you have something on tiamat? I just started watching your channel yesterday, and its a lot more entertaining and interesting than reading the wiki, while my peers bully me for not knowing the lore As I've come from forgotten realms, i assumed that tiamat is the mother of dragons in pathfinder as well
i was under the impression that Baphomet and Deskari both got destroyed and were used to ascend the commander of the fifth crusade to demi godhood. I should probably read up on the canon of the end of that adventure path.
That's video game only; in the written AP Baphomet's basically a secret boss your party has to go out of their way to kill, and there's no sub-plot about ascending to godhood.
Demigods have to be slain twice, one of which in their private realm. Deskari in essence got the 5 stars in GTA for the world wound. At no point was there ever going to be peace for something so thoroughly obviously wanting to take the world. He fked around and found out that to threaten a entire world. People were naturally going to take the planar trip to ensure he died for good.
Yeah Rovagug is clearly lovecraftian "Who knows the end? What has risen may sink, and what has sunk may rise. Loathsomeness waits and dreams in the deep, and decay spreads over the tottering cities of men."
In my campaign, edgy teenagers often get Zon-Kuthon tattoos - not because they actively worship him but because every teenager goes through an ALL LIFE IS PAIN phase (why do you think we had so many Pinhead posters on our wall as kids?) And of course to piss off their parents. Because lots of teenagers do that, too.

What happens when a demon lord is slain in Pathfinder? Does it cease to exist or does its spiritual essence reforms after many years?

My first ever pathfinder character was a half orc cleric of Zon Kuthon. It was a very interesting introduction to the setting.
You’re literally one of the best Pathfinder channels on UA-cam ! Amazing content
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Since I just noticed it, congrats on the 1K subs MythKeeper!

Yess I just noticed too. Congratulations on 1K subs! It will snowball from here! You deserve it my friend!
making my own world for my Advanced 5e game I get so many good ideas from these videos and I thank you for that :) Keep up the great work!
I saw both of your videos on the infernal gods, and loved them. I’m very glad to have found this channel
Idk bout yall but i find the fact that baphonet solved Asmodeus's "impossible" maze in one decade and then proceded to steal it as just peak comedy.
Its pretty hilarious, and also Baphomet is kind of a badass.
Divine comedy.

Something apocalyptic is always going on.
Good dietoes yrust us to take care of outselves, while evil gods are micromanagers
I love that a lot of the art you used for Ghalaunder is Warhammer art.
Yes I think of him as the Nurgle of Pathfinder 😁

Hi, love all your vids. I am actually running “prey for death” and wondering what video to watch to learn more about Ilizmagorti. Thanks in advance!
Watch my Sodden Lands & the Abendego Gulf region deep dive!
@@TheMythkeeper Thank you so much!
I see that Rovagug is a parallel to Tharizdun in the Golarion setting. Neat!
Achaekek the killer of Gorum. Too bad Gorum didn’t have any bug spray on him
Fuck yeah Mythkeeper posted
Best. Comment. Ever.
Great vid. Have a sub :)
Thanks for the sub!
any info on how lamashtu and Shub-Nigurath feel about each other if anything at all?
Honestly I think even Lamashtu is a little afraid of the Black Goat with a Thousand Young.
Dragon divinity sounds incorrect or at least heavily skewed. I could be wrong, it’s been awhile.

I try not to include AP spoilers in my videos. Plus, do gods ever truly die?
@@TheMythkeeper very true, especially in the case of Baphomet.

Rovagug is not Lovecraftian. He is a qlippoth.
The Lovecraftian gods are called The gods of the Dark Tapestry and are far more powerful.
The chapter about dahak is in the wrong place. it should start where currently the achaekek chapter starts
Thanks and corrected!
19:11 My papa Nurgle!!!
Edit: damn, it's literally him.
yeah, my art is not limited to pathfinder canon ;-)
See's Zon-Kuthon: I came!!!!
I said the same thing when I saw Calistria lmao!
Grandfather Nurgal

Achaekek doesn't seem evil. More neutral and lawful.
I'm pretty sure that the only reason that Achaekek is evil is because it resorts to murder to achieve its goals.
14:27 there’s a real God of Hell.
