Whereabouts on the canal?
Ayyy I know that spot!
Where is it
@@patrickkelly7789 def not telling you lol it will be over fished
@@AlfredMorganOutdoors kinda selfish but ok just trying to find some spots because I’m new to fishing
I'm going to do a video soon showing exactly HOW I find my fishing spots so everyone can do the same. My biggest video has 500k+ views. Every video has the potential to do that. If I revealed the spots in any of my videos, I would never get to fish there again. This fishery cannot handle that much pressure. Also, some spots that I fish are close to my home. I'm not saying you're a bad dude but I don't know for sure. Since I've started on this platform, I've had multiple death threats. I don't take chances when it comes to my family. I hope you understand. But, that's not saying I don't want to help new anglers find spots. So, I will make a video showing exactly how I find my fishing spots so everyone can do the same no matter where they are in the country. You'll have to do the work on your own, but that's part of the adventure. Stay tuned, and thank you for watching.
@@TheOutdoorDude it’s all good bro I found it probably not gonna catch anything tho because I never do
What pound test were you using?
Maybe 15 pound yozuri hybrid fluorocarbon, 15 pound p-line flouro, or 15 pound seagar fluorocarbon red label. I like to try different stuff. That red label is Really strong stuff. I'm trying out the Basix now. So far so good. But that Red Label has been the BEST for flipping heavier fish up that steep bank. Not sponsored by them, I just like it the most.
Never seen anyone try to smack a lure out of a fishes mouth like that. Interesting concept! What part of the Canal are you in or is good?
This time of year it's so shallow and clear, it's tough. You're going to have to finesse them. But, it's not impossible to still power fish. You have to pay attention to the rain and where it falls. What ever section gets the most rainfall is going to be the best this time of year. I'm constantly checking the water clarity at different spots before I fish. Good luck, and thank you for watching!!!
Is this in the Syracuse/Rochester area or is it closer to Albany
I typically fish the stretch between Syracuse and Oneida.
@@TheOutdoorDude grew up fishing it between Chittenango and Canasota.
Can someone post directions to this spot? I live in upstate.
It's the Erie Canal. Thanks for watching!!
@@TheOutdoorDude that covers a lot of ground. Where on the Erie Canal?
@@jeremiahsalyer7784 I'm not giving away the exact location on the internet. That's called spot burning. Not to mention a lot of these spots are close to my home. I've had death threats on here. That's a no go. Use google maps and do the leg work.
@@TheOutdoorDude I’m not sure how Google maps is supposed to help me magically find a spot but I understand wanting to protect privacy.
@@jeremiahsalyer7784 Not magic. Just a little work. Pull up google maps. Find the canal. Its pretty easy. Then follow it on the map until you see a bridge or state park. If it's a bridge, there will most likely be a stone parking lot/space next to it. Park there and have a blast. If it's a state park then go there. All Erie canal state parks have Erie canal access.
This is in Cleveland ohio right ?
Central Ny. It's the historic section of the Old Erie Canal.
.....😂 theres a Erie canal in Cleveland? Not as famous as the north eastern
Hey bud!!! I'm out fishing this year and was wondering where you were in this video? I know on the Erie canal but what town or area ..? I know that's a fucked question cuz some people like to keep their secrets but it never hurts to ask 🤷🙌🙌 , great video great content and thank you for your help!!!
Where along i live by it and have trouble catching anything besides perch
Too many people watch these videos for me to reveal exactly where, but I can give you some guidelines I go by while fishing the canal. Look for the dirtiest deepest water or the greenest grass. The more green, the more alive it is. Holds oxygen better. Target the shadows or take advantage of low light situations. Be ok with walking some And don't even bother fishing that spot if you don't see any bluegill. As far as baits are concerned, I've seen people catch 'em on anything in there, just use what you have confidence in. Hope this helps! Good luck, and thank you for watching!!!
It would be awful nice of you to let us know where you were fishing! Half the battle of fishing is knowing where the fish are biting!!!!
