- Frustrated because you dropped and broke your new antibacterial spray or hair spray? Here's one way you could try to save what's trapped inside your broken aerosol can.
We can still use our broken aerosol can just like Christ can still use us even when we are cracked and broken. :D
Just tried this today this worked perfect. I had one last bottle of Lysol left during this trying times and needed it badly. thank you.

I just did exactly like you said, pulled something off the shelf and dropped a brand new 19oz bottle of Lysol which cost about $8.00! I KEEP dropping my hair oil sheen can on the floor, and BREAKING the top nozzle. And THIS time I broke the nozzle off of a BRAND NEW, 'FULL' can of hair oil sheen spray this time!! 😱😱😔😔

Great way to get stuff out of the busted can. You can use the red tube off a can of WD40 or some such to extend the broken tube and put another spray tip on it.... Please God when you do decide to do it your way, do it outside in good ventilation, and not anywhere near open flame, like a gas stove or water heater pilot light. The propellants used in spray cans are not good to breathe and most are highly flammable.
Be careful discharging a aerosol can in a confined space. You definitely don’t want to do that around an ignition source, either. Otherwise it was a useful trick.
thank you very much, i had a can of lysol and with your help i managed to get all the spray out into a spray bottle.. my broken tip was a lot worse and i needed to use tweezer. thank you for the help.
twice my two lysols have done this...where if they fall the nozzles immediately break off or detach ...they seem to do so in the same way. Cheap nozzles without the cap barrier that other Lysols have. REdic and thank you for your advice.
That’s funny, the same cap on the same exact disinfectant spray came off on mine too! Lol

Thanks soo much. I was able to get Reddi Wip from a can with a broken nozzle :) I used a paperclip 📎 that allowed me to give just the right amount of twist. The wip came out with a strong force - yay 😃.

I did this today with Lysol and while I did not get all out only a small amount was left I was able salvage a cup of it and put in a sprayer bottle. It was tedious and all but well worth it!

Thank you very much b/c I definitely held my full Disinfectant spray after the plastic tubing broken down!! And this was great info!! Going try it after dinner! The using "other caps" definitely does not work either

I couldn't figure out the pin you were using so I just drilled two holes near the top of the nozzle of the can. These vented the liquid and I was able to pour it out.
Just a friendly reminder to folks not to puncture a pressurised can as it's a sure way to lose a hand or eye lol.

Great idea, it gets the product out of the can but doesn't make the can usable though. I have a product that will evaporate very quickly and might attack the spray bottle depending of the type of plastic it's made out of so this is a no go for me.
Oh yeah thanks for pointing that out. Some products can definitely be dangerous to inhale so we must be cautious.

Not really what I was looking for, but that's what I will do thanks.
Also safety note: Test to make sure the bottle you are dumping the stuff into will not melt from the stuff your are spraying. For example break cleaner may not work with this idea, and do this outside.

Omg just yesterday I broke my dry shampoo brand New!! That was my first and last time I used it. I also tried looking everywhere online. I even tried gorilla glueing the broken part but didn’t work. I think I’m just going to have to do this. Or try to glue it again but thanks for tip

I'm gonna try this because I have nerve damage in my fingers & drop everything. Lysol & My bug spray. Mosquitos LOVE ME! Right now I've got 7 bottles of off & Lysol that are halfway full that quit spraying. I can't afford to replace even generic brands. Wish me luck

Repressurize the can with a compressor.
Return the can get a new one.
Contact the manufacturer tell them not to sell crap.
Please don’t manipulate an aerosol can. PLEASE. I am in the industry and this is so so so unsafe if you aren’t properly trained. It’s essentially a small bomb. The valve has broken off/snapped and I really just think you should be throwing it out and not manipulating. Because one day, something might go wrong (accidentally piercing the can ect) and the can will explode. It is pressurised. There is a reason all aerosols have a warning on the label saying do not manipulate.

I'm trying this on my mousse bottle but no matter how I stick in the bobby pin it doesn't stick in. It seems like there is no opening. I feel like I still have half left and it seems a waste if I can’t get it out. Help.
Hmm .. is there a small tube attached? If it's the small tube you are trying to compress to release the mouse, you might have to push it at an angle because that's how some of the hairspray and mouse nozzles work. Sorry I can't be of more help.😕

You held everything at a distance from the camera in a dimly lit room against the backdrop of a black garment. I could not see anything. Do you actually poke the pin inside the nozzle? If not, please clarify. Thanks.
Sorry about that. No you just use it to put pressure on the broken tube that sticks out of the bottle.

Doing this indoors is very dangerous because of the flumes being trapped in one confined space. And using a pin takes forever to release the cleaning fluid if you’re lucky to get it out. A better solution may be to take the aerosol can outside, wearing a face mask/gloves, and carefully puncture a hole to let out the toxins in an open area. Do not do this near a flame source. And once puncture a hole, flee the scene for a bit and let the can fully decompress before pouring the liquid into a spray bottle. This way it is much faster, and you will get all of the fluid without poisoning yourself.

Dude how did you do this.
Try using a pair of needle nose pliers or a paperclip if you are still having trouble. The trick is to apply enough pressure for the liquid to drip out.
Will this work for a ozium spray bottle? Because I bought a can and it didn’t work either. It’s like smashed in

Please explain how you applied the Bobbie pin...mine keeps slipping off!
You hold your Bobby pin across the opening of your new spray bottle and push the broken nozzle against the pin. So basically keep the Bobby pin in place and move the broken nozzle around until you hit the right angle.

Can you please show us and explain what a bobby (?) pin is? Will an Allen wrench do - since it is a metal rod bent at right angles.
Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. Some people found using a paperclip or needle nose pliers to work a little better too.
