The problem with creating a reluctant adventurer in DnD is that you still need to go on the adventure. So after a while your character just needs to join in and go. If you're constantly just like I don't want to do this I don't want to do this then no one is going to want to play with you. The same can be said for characters you are playing as
I made a character for a ttrpg that went adventuring just so he could get away from his nagging wife and kids. Didn't particularly like adventuring, but it beat staying home. It was a fun character to play, but it's definitely tricky.
I agree! I listen to a lot of litRPGs. In the beginning they are a little reluctant, but then start to grow into their roll and embrace the mystery etc
I have a d&d artificer that is a 70 year old retired man. His wife passed away and the children and grandkids live far away so he has reluctantly become an adventurer. After a small amount of time the other players have convinced him to jump in the adventuring life with both feet. Now he's a famous *"Iron Man"* punching dragons, making coin and feeling like he's 20 years old again.
Which includes me. I love mage builds and felt this was the game for me. I don't follow games much, so imagine my surprise at the demo to find out how edgy snarky contrarian they both are. Gonna wait for deep deep sale or PS+. Looks like it can be a fun time waster. Just... turn off the dialog.
@@akin4484 I was just about to say that lol. Demo's can help you sell copies to people who are on the fence, buuut in this day and age where the publishers know full well 90% of their games are coming out unfinished or not really worth the ridiculous price of games today...
@@colossusslayer1234 the best time (if any) for a Demo would be post release like most publishers do. As most sales are front loaded at launch and having a Demo some time after release would possibly reach out to the audience a Demo is supposed to reach: Casual gamers who don't really know the game or possibly been on the fence
Ironically, the actress who plays Frey, Ella Balinska, also plays the future protagonist in the recent Resident Evil reboot. Both characters have this whiny "I don't want to be here" attitude about them that make them unlikeable and hard to relate to. I hope the writers aren't typecasting her into these roles because it can't be good for her career.
Most modern writers have been so insulated in a bubble of safety and comfort, i.e. going to school, going to college, getting a degree, going straight into the workforce ect.. That they think "hardship" is defined as "not getting everything you want." Or as the rest of us call it, life... Not to mention, many of these writers don't seem to understand the concept of self responsibility. Like, how many times has a modern video game come out with protagonists that make god awful, self destructive choices, learns nothing, and blames someone/something else for their misfortune. These characters are so insufferable that sometimes you want to cheer on the antagonist.
@@LysergicKids I was just thinking this as well. Thats how you get stuff like this and the crew of the Saint's Row reboot for instance. You just hope the player character dies so you can just shut off the game.
@@LysergicKids What you're describing isn't indictive of all new writers but writers who have benefitted from nepotism. In fact for most new writers (including new artists in other mediums), they struggle to find unpaid placements let alone gainful employment in their field of choice. There is also the nepo-diversity factor as well which is a far more nuanced issue all together. Essentially, they are young artists from marginalized ethno-groups who grew up wealthy but still feel like their voice isn't "heard" or see themselves as activists fighting for equality without interrogating how their own social class contributes to oppression. What they lack is obviously the lived experiences of those who lived lives of stratification as well as a failure to see the intersectionality of social class, race, religion etc.
Delsin Rowe in the mentioned 'Infamous: Second Son' is quite mouthy occasionally and it's usually quite fun to listen to him. But that's the magic word here, 'occasionally', he actually knows when to shut up.
Them releasing that demo was possible suicide because a lot of people including myself thought it was terrible. I wonder how many people it won over? lol. World was just dull and dead.
Combat won me over I thought it was great. I got the controls really quickly. Glad he made a review tho I literally bought a ps5 this month just to buy this game lol I’ll probably pick it up one day
It's weird how quite a few writers cannot write strong-willed characters (regardless of their gender). They always turn them into cynical or contrarian people. Strong-willed doesn't mean bulldozer, it means a person who doesn't easily waver. We see it here as well. Frey is tough and strong-willed, or I assume that is what they wanted. Instead, she's snarky, edgy and contrarian. It's like a pubescent notion of what it means to be strong. We see a similarly pubescent take on humour in the game: endless quips in the style of Joss Whedon (Edit: in Marvel, not Firefly etc.).
It feels like these people exist in some hostile environment, where people are afraid to be punished if they say anything "wrong". May even be some common psychological disorder in these people, that such an environment brings. There is some pattern.
You find Firefly (for example, just picking something Whedon out of a hat) to be pubescent and snarky? Maybe that's just not your kind of humour. From what I've seen of this game, it's certainly like listening to a mood teenager who hates everything and everyone, but I wouldn't think of Whedon when experiencing that.
@@hihihi1q23 it's actually more a polish name, and I'm from Ukraine. But a lot of russians now indeed have strong psychological disorders. Because they live in a reality, that contradicts itself.
Ah yes, I want to come home from working all day just to play a game with a cringey teenager who hates everything and everyone. Even though she gained mystical magic and transported to a different world, where she is all powerful. Really helps me escape from everyday life.
@@ktosdad i don't think you are the target demographic for this game lol. Maybe the kids want to experience a world away from their parents where they can be as ungrateful as they want.
@@jcon2060 Were adults the target demographic of Super Mario Bros or Metroid or Chrono Trigger? I think teenagers will be just as annoyed as anyone at this game.
just hit me that they could have framed this like an Alice in Wonderland type of story. girl with issues finds herself in a strange fantasy world where she grows as a person through her crazy adventures.
They show the book in one of the trailers, so they werent really subtle with that. The only thing to complete this stinky cliche would have been 'white rabbit' in ost.
I knew exactly how this story was gonna turn out based on the first trailer. They made a trailer of someone given super-powers and transported to a fantastical world only complaining about it.
We’ve seen this story before, especially in movies, but it could’ve been something decent here. I genuinely like the idea of taking a character and putting them in a completely new fantastical world.
@@TheProphegy like ACG said, a fish out of water story would have made more sense. sounds like this is a more incomplete story rather than a typical one seen a hundred times
It's especially frustrating because it is LITERALLY alien behavior - i.e. non human behavior / response. In RL we've invented "super powers", in a fashion. We invented things like explosives - tools that can literally carve entire pieces out of mountains or literally cut through them to create tunnels. No goddamned human in existence that ever used those tools (or weapons) ever said: "Oh man, this is sooooo tiresome. I can destroy an entire city, blast through a mountain with the power of science... UGH! WHY ME?!" .. No... human response is to be in AWE of these abilities.. it's why we stare like stupid monkeys into the sky every time fireworks go off. Having actual comic book / fantasy superpowers, you'd be squeeing in endless delight or cackling in evil glee nonstop.. not complaining about having amazing near god-like powers.
@@Yodalemos A great trope? I thought it was already cringe back in the 80's. If I never see it again in anything else, it'll still be too soon. And even putting personal feelings about it aside, it's an incredibly lazy way to do exposition, transporting a character from a regular world like ours to a magical world is only a way to explain why everything about the world is explained to them.
Well, it's not unheard-of in fantasy. The most powerful magical object in Middle-Earth was in the Shire for 67 years before Gandalf figured out what it was.
@@jamesgravil9162 And? A. It wasn't just hanging around the shire laying in the dirt for everyone to see. B. Bildo LITERALLY treated it like his most precious posession. It'd be one thing if Frey had a good life in NY like great job, loving parents, supporting friends and everything, to be frustrated with the world of Athia and wanting to go back but it seems like she's acting like a D-Bag just to be a D-Bag
To give another square enix example, tidus essentially gets isekai’d in FFX. He had a good life as a sports star so it makes sense why he wants to go back, and he’s constantly talking about how he loves his home. Even then, he still wants to help the people and world he finds himself in. I know some people found him annoying but honestly i find him a lot more likeable as a protag

Some developers need to understand that a crappy game can't be hidden behind great graphics. I get so disappointed when I see this. All that work that the artists and animators did, only to be completely wasted by poor story and game design. I can't believe they're charging $70 for this lol

Same here. Even after the review I was like "it still looks cool, how bad can it be when you can do all this cool stuff". Then I heard the main character talking and immediately switched to "I will never play this"
Thanks to square for the early release code. With a week to play to the game man it felt like 3 lol. Forspoken is forsaken right from the start www.patreon.com/AngryCentaurGaming
Did you not enjoy it because you had to rush through the game to do a review on it? Maybe it felt more like a job than playing a game? As even the gameplay in this video makes the combat look fun
You are so right with Horizon, I remember each enemy robot, each had a memorable design and attack pattern. I was always excited when I found a new kind of robot
Yess. In HZD, the enemy variety encourages you to use every single weapon types and use different approach. Makes it so much more engaging. This game's spell combat should be able to do exactly that, encouraging you to switch spells to suit different enemies. But the enemies not being varied means all you do is just like pokemon, pick the element they are weakest against. No change in playstyle.
So glad that you brought up my major gripe about the game 2 minutes into the video; I hated how the main character hated everything; there was a point in the demo where I was actually amazed at something I saw, and at the same time the main character said something like "Ewwww what IS that?" and I was just like eughhhhh
I had super high-hopes for the main character. I'm all about diversity especially in video games and this was a great opportunity to create a character who was a troubled teenager acting out because of the poor hand she had been dealt, maybe dipping further down into negativity at first when she of all people is chosen to be transported to another world(the "why me?" attitude) to then learning and growing from seeing a world not her own in utter turmoil and devastation. I guess my point is, characters don't have to be perfect in any way. They just need to be relatable in some way and changing(as humans do when they grow up and experience things) is extremely relatable. People just need a reason to care about characters. How can you care about a character that doesn't care about anything themselves?
@@maxv658 and this is exactly why a lot of people, including myself, dislike diversity in games. not because we have a problem with diverse characters, but current day writers can't write them for shit. no relatability, no imperfections they get over, nothing except snarky knowitalls

The Problem with Video games these day’s is they want $74.00 for games because they say the graphic’s are better, but the game play nor the graphic’s measure up to the price, most games released lately are still in the $49.99 to $59.99 range and nobody can still tell me why a digital copy of a game still cost the same price as the boxed copy of a game, when the boxed copy cost more to ship and advertise, the digital copy should have stayed at $59.99.
Software and hardware developers: we created all this amazing stuff to make development process easier! Developers: development process becomes harder and harder!
actually considering games cost about 5 times as much to make nowadays the fact that prices remain even similar to what they were 5 or ten years ago is actually not a bad deal, plus most games go to that price a month or two after release.
@@Walamonga1313 Retailers. There is literally no data on this, but anecdotally, no one buys game consoles directly from the manufacturer. The profit margin on consoles is low for manufacturers and sellers (5%ish). They make money on game and accessory sales. Wait, you mentioned she is like this through the whole game? So, let me get this straight... the main character doesn't actually go on a radical character arc that sees her becoming a decent human being? Knowing the main character is going to be insufferable for the entire playthrough... i think ill just return this game.
A hilarious comment given that the character was written by a man. Maybe she would’ve been better if they’d, I dunno, hired some women to write the female characters.
Thing is though, this bratty, brash, rude attitude rarely if ever comes from someone "economically crippled" like this game portrayed her to be. Most of the people I have met who are economically "less fortunate" are humble, soft spoken, doesn't try to swear at every moment's notice. @@addielang1672 Most companies don't do demos anymore because even the greatest games of all time get nothing but reduced sales from them, there is 0 benefit to making a demos for games unless you are a completely unknown indie with no advertising budget.
Making demo was probably their biggest mistake. I was actually hype for this game and was planning on pre ordering it until I played the demo and I thought “ehhh, it can wait”
As others said was pretty thankful for the demo as that at pretty much wiped out most my interest for the game, and this just confirmed my suspicions - great work as always good sir
You know it's strange, because when I played the demo actually found myself enjoying aspects of it a lot. The magic system actually feels like being a Battlefield mage in a way that reminded me of Dragon's Dogma when you play a certain classes. It actually had an element to it that a lot of action RPGs with magic elements seem to be lacking. It's a shame the rest of this game is a faltering so badly because I actually enjoy the way that combat looks and feels.
Perhaps the only thing I like about modern Square Enix is their obsession with releasing demos so everyone can judge for themselves whether they want to get the game at full price. Although so many of their demos as of late convinced me NOT to buy the game (Bravely Default II, Marvel’s Avengers and especially Balan Wonderworld spring to mind) that I now worry they may convince themselves and the rest of the industry that free demos aren’t a good marketing strategy and stop doing them entirely.

I knew there was an embargo ending at 9am. Typed in "Forspoken review" at like 9:05. Knew i was probably going to have to watch the IGN review. Then said, oh thank God there's an ACG review.
I think ACG is really good at giving critical reviews. I was never convinced by the previews of this game, it always looked off to me, but I think he does a good job of explaining the faults in a fair way. Appreciate you.
Forspoken does really prove how ahead of its time Dragons Dogma is. Dragon's Dogma is far more comprehensive title w/ added mantling as it implemented verticality from traversal and combat-wise, even has part breaking that isnt exclusive on boss fights nor just cosmetics damages, and it cost 30$ on a freakin AA title!
I think big maps with tons of pickups encourage players to explore with a desire for strength increase or OCD fulfillment instead of interesting or intriguing level design. EG: if the designers wants the player to keep walking around and looking for stuff they just put down a glowing particle effect instead of making a mysterious looking terrain formation or a building that looks like something important must be there from a distance.
Well if it’s a map full of pickups, and you see mysterious formation in the distance, wouldn’t you think that there may be some more pickups in there? It wouldn’t hurt to consider using both.
Didn't this just come from being a tech demo? I remember seeing the main character running and parkouring through location and it looked petty cool, really nice graphically. Everyone was like, this looks kinda cool and then the publishers were probably biting their nails "this needs to be a fully fleshed out game, boys, whip something up".
Yea it looked bad from the start, especially with all that corny dialogue. I thought about playing the demo then I was like, i dont want to even waste that amount of time on something that looks this bad and uninteresting
Me too, although the demo they released made it really easy to see how bad this game was going to be early on, what with boring looking combat, and a protagonist that as attitude and swears to the point of being obnoxious.
I appreciate you pointing out what I personally thing is one of the biggest issues in modern writing that hardly anyone will admit is an issue: the immense overuse of cussing, specifically the f-bomb. There’s an entire dictionary of words out there, so if you’re over reliant on four or five for every single situation, your either lazy or ignorant-and yet we still get tv shows, movies, and now games churned out by writers who probably don’t even know what the word synonym means. It completely severs any connection with a character that I could hope for and ultimately just makes me lose respect for them - and at that point, why should I even bother playing through a game centered around them?
Modern writing? I feel like this has been a problem for at least a decade, writers who repetitively use the f-bomb every few sentences (or more) to mask their surprising lack of vocabulary and creativity, plus come across as “edgy” enough for an M, R, or TV-MA rating without actually saying or doing anything that could offend anyone. I mean, I agree it’s still a massive crutch used in more modern movies (especially comedies), but not necessarily a newer one.
@@JeffreyThrash no, you’re completely right. I think my mind is just stuck in the 90’s / early 00’s. But yeah, it’s definitely been an issue for a long time now-especially in anything comedy related like you said.
Do you not spend a lot of time around people? I say and hear the f-bomb probably a combined 100 times a day. It's the most realistic thing about modern dialog in movies/videogames/etc.
@@gernblanston2652 don’t get me wrong, I never said it wasn’t “realistic,” especially in terms of how people talk today. My issue is that it’s lazy - people say it hundreds of times a day because they can’t be bothered to think of anything else to say. The problem then extends to people like that getting jobs where they’re writing scripts for movies, tv shows, video games, etc. Their vocabulary is so limited that they can’t fathom writing a character with a vocabulary anymore extensive than their own. Even worse, they’ll argue, “it’s better that the character talk like this so that people today can ‘relate’ to them” Well me personally, I can’t relate - so I need a personality, or a compelling story, or solid relationships, something along those lines, if I want any chance of relating to a character. But when their defining personality trait is that they have a fowl mouth and they generally don’t like people - well, then I have nothing to latch on to and therefore no reason to engage with the story.
@@TheBatmanMan1 I think that you're idea of people having a limited vocabulary so, they curse completely faulty. Studies have shown that people with large vocabularies curse more than people with limited vocabularies. It's fine if you don't like hearing cursing but, you're making a lot of assumptions that are not backed up by research.
Thanks for the review Karak! This was definitely a game that I really had no intention of trying, all the clips and previews I saw really didn't do anything to make me curious about the protagonist, the world or even the combat. Good to know I can continue skipping this one with no regrets!

I hadn't expected this game to be good given what we'd seen recently, but I had hoped it would surprise everyone. I've been a fan of modern magic and isekai type stuff since the mid 80s from the novels of Guy Gavrial Kay and Charles de Lint, and I think those genres have a lot of potential for games. I guess the wait continues.
Have you tried Lichdom Battlemage? Story is a bit cheesy but the magic is definitely fun. I mained a summoner/ telekinesis/ fire build. bonus is the magic elemental synergy system!

Fantastic video ACG keep it up. I was worried once I saw the writing for the main character, that the company was more interested in a "modern message" and less about good story and solid characters. Ever since we found out this game was gonna be isekai I was extremely skeptical of it. I don't know why writers are intent on creating an immediate clash between a character and the world they end up in. It works when anime makes fun of it, but when people try to do it seriously it just falls flat. You end up with a character that has to be incredulous at everything they encounter for the first act of the story and this almost never works with teen or adult characters because we expect them to be snarky, sarcastic and disbelieving which is typically unlikeable. Only place the concept works is in kids' books because when a kid character is transported to another world they can have a sense of wonder about the whole thing rather than just irritating quips and references to the real world.
Hmm not really this could have actually worked with better writing. The game just feels disconnected. Frey wants to go home but home was something she wanted to escape from. This quite easily could have been fixed by showing that her *home* wasn’t bad, and that she misses home because she misses people that are close to her while at the same time later growing closer to her new home and caring for a new family, and accepting this is her new home. The game just feels overall like an unpolished mess in almost all aspects. I don’t think the game needs to take the route it did for its dialogue and writing, but really Square Enix is known to be outlandish often detracting from the experience. I miss when they used more subtleness in their older games.

as always, thank you ACG for your reviews! i was always iffy even before the demo was released. im still willing to give it a try because i did enjoy the use of parkour implemented within combat. will probably get this game on sale if anything. the whole open world genre for AAA gaming is getting tiring at this point 😅
I agree with your point of modern language in a fantasy setting. It always ruins the immersion for me. Legendary fantasy author Ursula Le Guin wrote about it in a great essay.
Completely meaningless and useless comment. What you said literally does not mean anything. How does one not recognise something which exists? As if writing does not exist, and is not happening now, in the current modern era?
Games like this really put games like rdr 2 and tw3 into perspective. In those you can see the handcrafted attention to detail everywhere. Even AC Origins for as much flack as Ubisoft gets. Here it looks like someone ran riot with a procedural terrain generator on a giant map then plopped down a bunch of generic stock asset looking buildings with no rhyme or reason.
I was thinking how sad it seems to be that everyone seems to follow the standard “Ubisoft Open World” template when we clearly have better examples of open-world design to riff off of, even from Ubisoft themselves, as you said. But then I realized, the reason AAA companies are more likely to follow the “plop assets randomly around a huge grassy or sandy area” approach is because it’s easier, takes less time and is cheaper. Cynical, yes, but at least it won’t take you the entire gap between GTA 5 and 6 to finish a single game.
Even Mass Effect Andromeda looks more complete and engaging than this. Like what happened, did they have no budget yet tried to make rockstar level world?
Thank you so much for your reviews They save me a lot of money in deciding if I should buy a new game up front or not. My impulse game spending would have got the better of me But now i wait for your reviews 1st. Thanks!
The fact that Square Enix refuses to give out PC review codes probably means it's a catastrophic mess on PC. A big pass from me. Not like my PC could handle it anyway lol.
Except the women and POC was written, created by, and designed by men. Is it any wonder Frey comes across as inauthentic and unbelievable? You know, there’s a simple solution to this problem: HIRE WOMEN TO WRITE WOMEN.
Comedy gold? It's going to be a bunch of weirdos screeching because the main character is black. MUH WOKENESS. Those 'comedy' reviews are the reasons user reviews have become useless.
The dialogues in the game are problematic, it is sad because there's a lot of potential. Frey and Cuff are of different worlds, they really could develope their relationship from apprehension to mutual understanding of each other's native culture. Rather than direct exposition, the dialogue could be made more natural; for example, Cuff might be unfazed by magic, but Frey would be at first, and one potential exchange could be about how different Athia is from Earth, which in turn could give us more insight to the nature and origin of the fantasy land we are traveling through. Not everything has to be spelled out, making details regarding the lore alittle more obscure would be great. Having Frey and Cuff slowly uncover mysteries through discovery and authentic dialogues is better than flat exposition.
They are taking a phenotype and personality type that is unpleasant and they are trying to shoehorn it into fantasy for the sake of diversity. It's just silly.
The concept has so much potential. An isekai game where you gain magical powers from a mystical artifact that focuses on gaining new spells to combo with. Too bad literally everything else is either bad or mediocre. Graphics look pretty good I guess.
If a character doesn't grow and change during a story then what was the point of having a main character that talks? I always thought Kait in Geasr5 was a great example of a protagonists that had difficult things to deal with through out the game and was noticeably different as in the end. Joel in TLOU is another great example it's called good writing. I'm seeing less and less in the AAA space. Great review !!!
imo kait was unbearable in 5 the way she spoke. I personally love JD redemption and hope to see more it come gears 6 EDIT: I did mean to say she def changed over the course of the game by the end she was much better off as a warrior but the beginning was tough to want to like her.
Not all stories require the characters to grow, but it depends on the story the writers are trying to tell. Indiana Jones is a good example of this. Hes basically the same person he begins every movie with, but the story he exists in is a fun adventure romp
@@skierbinky Good point. I guess I mean if the character goes through personal changes, like being swept away to a magical land with no way home or being in a war and killing your uncle. I didn't explain that well.
On top of the money they took from Playstation for exclusivity? Yeah sorry but that's a total piss take. I'll play this on GamePass in 2 years 😂 it'll run better and be fixed by then as well.
After sitting back and think about it, a thought come into my head. Everyone is complaining about the main character. Do you think this is how developers actually view their audience and people of that age range? Whiny, complaining, never amazed, never satisfied etc.. Just a thought
Great review, but is there a reason there is no music/game sound during your entire review? It makes it difficult to follow all of what you are saying esp during the music/sound section if there is no real-time examples
I was so hyped for the game when I saw the first bits of gameplay and the trailer. But every time new promo stuff was published, it seemed less and less interesting. The enemy design looked uninspired and I had the impression the gamw was 80% traversal across barren landscapes. I'm glad I didn't preorder.

The problem with creating a reluctant adventurer in DnD is that you still need to go on the adventure. So after a while your character just needs to join in and go.

While a silent protag in DD was often awkward, at least they weren't spewing Reddit dialogue.
Damn u posted this comment on like 30 channels
Dragons Dogma is one of the best RPGs ever, I can not WAIT for Dragons Dogma 2!.
@@jacksonmullen2218 Thank God. I thought I was tripping seeing this everywhere.
I said it once, I’ll say it again. If Dragons Dogma and Skyrim had a baby, it’s be the greatest RPG to ever grace the video game industry
This is why Elden Ring was one of the best games ever made.
Dragon's Dogma did this very well due to the power fantasy was there pretty early on if you were skilled enough to do it.
Yeah I remember it from the early UE5 videos. Game is just thrown together lol.
I was wondering the same, but thought maybe I was just remembering wrong
This would explain…everything, really.
@@ViolinChick5 yup, just slap some shitty writing and boring quests on to it and call it a game.

Thanks for this review. This is roughly what I expected. I'm glad I picked up on this game looking bad early on. The demo really solidified it for me.
I have NO idea why they released that lol it was so bad
Yea it looked bad from the start, especially with all that corny dialogue. I thought about playing the demo then I was like, i dont want to even waste that amount of time on something that looks this bad and uninteresting
Me too, although the demo they released made it really easy to see how bad this game was going to be early on, what with boring looking combat, and a protagonist that as attitude and swears to the point of being obnoxious.
One of the most surprising things is that if you look up you can see Amy Hennig as one of the writers. How is that even possible.
@@fartloudYT What?? The same Amy that worked on the first 3 uncharted games?
That rendition of NYC from the first few minutes of the game looks so much more interesting than the actual game world...
I thought that. NYC looks excellent and the little set pieces there look great
They did the same with ff15 with Insomnia, show off this city and deletes it and never seen again
Sadly this became one of those games where the more we learn the less we like.
Even worse, they’ll argue, “it’s better that the character talk like this so that people today can ‘relate’ to them”
Well me personally, I can’t relate - so I need a personality, or a compelling story, or solid relationships, something along those lines, if I want any chance of relating to a character.
I couldn't even make it through the audio clips at the end of your video - kudos to you for spending as much time with the game as you did. We appreciate your sacrifice. =)
If you like isekai, this game is totally for you. Bring your opossum and raccoon friends as well.
So the demo was pretty much what the game is. I didn’t think it was bad. I simply knew the game wasn’t for me. And this review is verbatim how I felt about the demo.

Fantastic video ACG keep it up. I was worried once I saw the writing for the main character, that the company was more interested in a "modern message" and less about good story and solid characters. Hell, I felt that way during the _demo._ Once I got used to the spells and controls and shit I went with fire and never touched the earth powers again.

I agree
They are taking a phenotype and personality type that is unpleasant and they are trying to shoehorn it into fantasy for the sake of diversity. It's just silly.
