I know he won't keep it but the Nightwing Mountain Hiking outfit with the beard is a fucking great look. Something about the wrapped up hands and the boots really does it.
Thanks for reviewing this issue of Nightwing, Joel👍👌😊. Woah, so Dick was supposed to die and not his parent on that fateful night😳. Talk about a shocking twist in Dick's background and origin
If we look back to dark Victory, We know Dick Grayson witnessed Zucco trying to put pressure on C.C. Haley To get him to pay protection fees, I wonder if We'll get another flashback that reveals Zucco Noticed Dick Grayson Spying on him during his conversation with Haley so he decides to go through with his sabotaging of the trapeze expecting to kill the witness. I wonder if they'll finally update it a little bit to show that Zucco didn't just sabotage the trapeze he also sabotaged the safety net
i think the revolation about Zuko having tried to kill him originally is cool but would be a better story idea for a show or movie to use when they do Dick's origin
That’s part of the joke. Everyone made a big deal of Bruce replacing Richard as Nightwing, and yet, we don’t even see it for a full issue. Tom knew exactly what he was doing…
Not much a fan of the revelation in the end. It just takes away the randomness aspect of the crime present in Batman stories. In the case of Dick Grayson's origin, Zucco goal was just to cause an accident that would to push the circus to pay for his "protection" and Dick parents end up being a casualties. This helps to show how crime and tragedy can happen to anyone at any moments. It's the same reason why I'm also not a fan when DC tries to add uncessary details to the Wayne death, like " it was Lew Moxon who Joe Chill to kill his Bruce parents" or something like that. It just turns what was suppose to be just a robbery gone too far into a big conspiracy.
@@alexandrefrauches132 Agreed, they need to learn to leave "well enough alone" with a lot of these origin stories. This seems like a twist for a twist sake
Though Dick Grayson's origin kind of needs a partial update because the flying Grayson's wouldn't be able to Perform their trapeze stunts without a safety net due to osha regulations.
i dont think it changes anything about the randomness aspect tbh. like, dick would've been the victim of a random act of injustice either way right? just instead of being only impacted, he was actually the direct cost. my guess is that in-world, dick's death was planned because it wouldn't impact the money making potential of the circus as much as their head performers' would. its just that, just like how anyone can be inflicted with suffering and crime through no fault or cause of their own, so too can they be blessed. dick was just lucky, in a sense, that his parents went first instead of him. so it ultimately doesn't impact the message of the matter. but it does give a bit of guilt-based character development for dick bc even if it was all random chance, dick can still feel responsible for his parents deaths in a sense
The Fall and the Leap 👏🥰 what a penultimate issue 😭 so sad extra month wait for the finale, but will flip through issues 78 to 117 from here until October 16 and the release of Nightwing 118 (Legacy issue 305 💙🖤)
Perhaps someone knew about the kid being destined to be Robin and later Nightwing as well as allowing Bruce Wayne to be happy...and we all know what happens if Dick & Selina aren't allowed to do that...especially since Nightwing is the one who went girlfriend shopping for Batman when he was Robin...because who better to find a girlfriend for his dad than the kid right?
This was an amazing issue. Taylor built on established history without taking anything away from it. That's great writing
Holy plot twist Batman! I can't wait to see how this plays out and the Nightwing/Deadman friendship is a great pairing.

Here I thought Nightwing couldn't get any hotter, but with a beard 🔥🔥🔥
Shocked it took them this long to give him a beard. Feels like a couple years ago every hero grew one.
I think they dropped Bruce trying to being Nightwing thing a little too fast. But I understand it's not Bruce's book.

@@Dhampir101980 I'm aware and I didn't need you to explain that. And to be honest I hate those kinds of jokes.

I am curious to see how this final arc will read, cause I feel like almost any writer might’ve prolonged this aspect of the arc
I’m right there with you,Joel.
5:33 I feel it because why take out the big money maker they exploiting when killing the kid would make the message clearer

I have a question does take place before absolute power or after?
I'm thinking before
@@kinght676 that makes sense
It has to be before. Because after Absolute Power, Nightwing’s book is getting a new writer and assuming a new direction
