Great video. This has got to be the most convoluted collection of origins ever. Can't even have two siblings with superpowers without making them jump through all those hoops just to be reunited.
I dunno, I find this one of the easiest MerryMarvelite videos to follow. Alpha Flight has far less retcons stacking on one another than, for example, Skrulls or Eternals.

I always found it funny how geographically spread out the members of Alpha Flight were. It’s as if John Byrne opened up an atlas and said “hmm, what’s a prominent city in each part of Canada that I can say each member comes from?”
Considering the population of Canada, it would be weird to have them all come from the same place. It would be like having most of the Marvel characters come from New Yo… oh, never mind.
This video was phenomenal! As a huge X-Men/Alpha Flight fan, seeing such a thorough deep dive that was not only super informative but also very respectful of the characters was so refreshing. Can’t wait to see a part 2 (or more) of this!
Although these are slow and involve too much information, they don't disappoint when it comes to surprises, like Shaman having a connection with Snowbird.
Yeah don't get your hopes up. I like the MCU on the whole, they handle their characters better than Fox or Sony, but I feel like for every few well handled adaptions they completely butcher like five. The Thor movies' wasting of villains drives me up the wall, and don't get me started on the Mandarin.

Great video on Alpha Flight!!! I got respect for Canada's superhero team alongside those around the world, including the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the X-Men, Excalibur (the heroes of the United Kingdom), the Defenders, the Young Avengers, the Midnight Sons, S.H.I.E.L.D., and the Guardians of the Galaxy (from both the Prime Marvel Universe, a.k.a., Earth-616, and the 31st century of Earth-691).
ALPHA FLIGHT. I was immediately obsessed with them when I saw them on the X-men Animated Series. Also, their cameo in X-men 97 was a great callback. I love this team so much, they are so diverse and everyone is so interesting. I hope they come to the MCU soon. Maybe like a prequel X-men or Wolverine film.
Hello there Merry Marvelite and fellow Marvel fans. I just wanted to say that I am sorry for the tardiness of this comment. I have been a bit busy and just recently got the chance to check out the newest postings here on UA-cam for the channel. Anyways, I thought that this video dealing with Alpha Flight was absolutely incredible and I have to admit that I really enjoyed the information that came out of this video. The main reason why I enjoyed the information about Alpha Flight is because the team is one of those teams that don't get a lot of time to shine in the Marvel Universe, compared to some of teams. Which I think is a shame, due to the fact that there are a lot of cool characters that are a part of the team. Anyways, thank you so much for this great and totally fantastic video. I do hope that you and everyone else in this community has a great day and a wonderful weekend. Can't wait to see the next exciting video. Until then, please stay safe, healthy and keep up the spectacular work that you do. Peace Out and Above All Excelsior.

Thanks for the longer than usual episode! Very familiar with Alpha Flight via X-men, and it was fun to learn a bit more about them. Hope to see you do another video in the future, a lot more to cover, especially Jimmy's "explosive" incident. Thanks again!
Would have loved to see an Alpha Flight cameo in Deadpool Wolverine, even if only 15-20 secs of alternate universe goodness…something to set them up for a future MCU appearance
This is one of the teams that need to be brought to the MCU. This is a good time to do it. The Avengers are disbanded and other governments want their own superhero teams.
Wow thank you for doing this. There is so much I knew nothing about. I read a few issues during the early 80's . Could never really find it in order to really get into it. Later on early nineties my local comic shop slipped it in my pull lists. Because I was into the X-Men . Buy that time Heather Hudson was leading the time North star was gay and and John Byrne was long gone. So thank you for the history lesson.
I love these videos so much. Your research is unparalleled. Where is your accent from? You sound a bit american but sometimes you pronounce things like Irish
Omg more more more. This was fantastic. Alpha is my favorite team and series of all time (and I actually prefer post-Byrne, to show we do exist). I have a spinner rack in my office with every alpha appearance ever, every volume, etc. love.
Loved Alpha Flight and their early years. Wan't crazy how they continuously powered down my favourite fuzzy hero, Sasquatch. Was originally Hulk class, then eventually could barely hold his own against U.S Agent.
Alpha Flight is the greatest team in comics you've never heard of. If Kevin & Disney had any clue, there would be an Alpha Flight movie. With the Avengers out of service who would watch the land to the north? You could begin the movie with the scientist who worked for Roxxon Oil and created the mining suit, which he stole because he didn't like what was planned for it. This could happen right around time of Infinity War. This scientist returns to Canada where he is talking to one of his friends Gary Cody, who informs him of what happened to the Avengers. So, they create Department H, (this time no Wolverine) and it grows into Alpha Flight with the first movie involving the original 6 (8 Puck & Marina) Keep Roxxon Oil as the "bad guy" and use the villains from the original one-shot story since they're not going to show up anywhere else. Maybe Roxxon has possession of the artifact that can summon the mystic beasts, which they (Roxxon) believe they could control the beasts and use them to protect Earth from threats. They reason why Roxxon is after Hudson is not only do they want the suit back he designed, but they think he took the artifact. But he doesn't have it. Someone else took it and the end of credit scene could be the same thing that happened at the end of the first issue of Alpha Flight, with the Canadian native America dragging his foot backwards and creating the outline of Tundra (which could be the set up for move 2). Walter Langkowski could become Sasquatch by receiving the Canadian version of the super soldier program. China Force could show up as another bad guy threat, since they aren't friends with the United States, they would never call the Avengers for help of any kind and end up in Canada looking for the China/Canada ambassador who could be Jade Dragon. Sabretooth could end up in the movies because he's linked to Kyle Gibney (aka) Wildchild. And if you're talking about speedsters... what better way than to make a debut.... (Last night, I looked into the sky and said a prayer, now that the Avengers are gone, who will protect Canada... there was the Moon, there was Venus, there was Mars.... no, they aren't the answer... then i saw (the) Aurora and (the) NorthStar. But still I wondered... and went to a hockey game....I couldn't focus on the game and as the glass shattered and sitting on my lap was the rest of the answer (it was a) Puck.
