I was so sad to hear that Taylor Dayne was hospitalized for colon cancer. I wish I could send her a card and let her know that continuous prayers are sent her way. She said she needs therapy now. I read her book that she wrote, ok.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Incredible voice. I feel like she was so underrated. Living in the shadow of Whitney Houston, like a few other incredible female artists of that time.

My late father loved this song and I would watch him stop whatever he was doing just to listen to the song whenever it came up on his playlist. My dad always had an eclectic taste in music so I was not so surprised that he liked this but the strength of his reaction floored me. I miss you, Dad. I hope they play Taylor Dayne in heaven, just for you.

Back in the day ... when I was just a youngster bartending in the club.... Friday nights were Ladies Night, and this was the last slow song played after "last call" my Babydoll and I used to dance to this jam at 2 am...... yeah.... the late 80s were the chit, you know you secretly wish you were there!
Her 'I'll Be Your Shelter' was my favorite. But all of her music was exceptional with that powerhouse voice.

Taylor Dayne is truly super underrated vocally she is on the same level as Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey (Soul Dancing from 1993) fantastic R&B album she has a Greatest Hit compilation it’s very good for smooth Classic R&B Lisa Stansfield is another R&B female singer from this same time period that gets so overlooked 👍👍👍❤️👍😢😢

An absolutely towering voice!
Such a great song. I was in my 20s. I was an assistant manager at pizza hut. After we closed we always listened to this and tell it to my heart. We had fun and made the employees get a burst of energy. Things would always get done faster and everyone was in a better mood

I've always loved the beautiful power in her voice. I heard her a couple of years back and that voice is still gorgeous. Her voice still gives me chills.
You have to check out the absolutely hilarious Tig Notaro comedy story about her meeting Taylor Dayne (This American Life).
She never got the recognition she deserved. She had an amazing voice. And still does. We went to see here a few weeks ago and still sounds the same. Terrified concert. Very sweet person too. We met her afterwards and she could not have been nicer. We are looking to see her at a jazz festival in GA next fall along with Earth Wind and Fire.

In the early 90s, a friend took me to a local gay dance club to "see Taylor Dayne." I was convinced it was just another "drag" show I was being dragged to. My jaw hit the floor when the real Taylor Dayne hit the stage! She was amazing!

What a great song by a singer who didn't get nearly the recognition that she deserved but you missed out by not showing the video and watch the emotion she sings it with!
I was a huge fan of her, and saw her in July of '88? at a small concert hall and had an amazing time. I heard she was coming back and on my Mom's birthday. Guess what I did! You get concert tickets, you get concert tickets, you get...you see where I'm going with this.
Taylor Dayne has one of the most beautiful and distinctive voices. She also has a unique way of pronouncing certain words when she sings and that just adds so much more to her tone and delivery. I have been a fan of hers since the 80's! Such a shame that she did not get as big as some of the other singers out there.
