Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to UA-cam videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. Lots of love, Man Moth.
"Your work is appalling. Sincerely, Richard Anderson"
Thanks for all your hard work.
Who's giving you Mondays off? Conning the management baybeeee .........
I see what you did with the shop, well done. I think you're safely this side of any TM's while still carrying the spirit of the show. Two unsolicited suggestions: "and that" with counter rolling over on the other side. And "KP Pumpkins, head on over, pilk your own." Cheers.

There's been lots of good podcsts and radio shows, but honestly nothing has come close to these three, especially XFM/Guardian podcast days. I cannot tell how many times I've listened to these over the past 13+ years since they were on air, but I never tire of them. Nothing is forced like a lot of podcasts - you can tell they were all genuine friendships at the time.
Definitely. You can also tell they didn't care one bit about appealing to any demographic or whatever, they're just having a laugh. Sometimes the best quality control is none at all.
Same here mate. Whenever I'm proper hungover and/or depressed I put these on and instantly feel better.
The chemistry between RSK is still unparalleled
SA H care to recommend any alternatives ? I love these. But a change now and again would be good.
@Anna M. thank you 😊 Will check it out!
@@SunnyDays00 What was it?
Iconic episode right here. The birth of the man, the myth; Dickie Anders, and one of my favourite rockbusters of all time: ‘he doesn’t like women, but he’s got a couple of kids? PD’.
Haha always love the delay then the PD connects in Ricky's mind lol
If I had to pick one.. yeh it’s definitely this, also true LOL
That’s a bit weird?
I think Ricky and/or Steve writes the Dickie Anders letters.
@@lucaslorenz8812 What?!No,that’s not true!Don’t ruin it!
16:01 “one at a time” just one example of karl being genuinely funny and witty that’s gone over my head so many times
I never catched that omg
I just got that, thanks to you :O nice
really well spotted 😂
First time I caught that today 😂 howling in the gym
😂😂😂😂
doctor: you've actually got a frog in your throat.
patient: how did it get there?
doctor: I've put it there.
52:33 "Well if I'm a moron, I might get your address wrong when I send 'em to ya!"
"Coming right back at ya Paul!"
LMAO
"Yeah? YEAH?! Yeesss"
I love how Karl hilariously takes on the role of a serious producer and takes his second reading of Rockbusters super seriously, after he realized he laughed through it the first time.
"I'm not a doctor or anything"
"Stop being so bloody modest!"
You really not a doctor? I mean you completed your medical training you're just not practicing anymore
"His arm went long" - definitely a doctor. Still waiting for "Old Cold Belly Badness: The History of Abdominal Surgery" to hit the bookshelves though! XD
21:30 - "Can we get Karl on telly?" I think that wish was well and truly granted.
I love when Karl laughs
me too!!!
Dicky Anders time code?

Dickers!!!!
DAMN IT! When They're talking about body fat, Ricky and Steve completely missed Karls joke "One at a time". It was hilarious!
+mbrandon11 They dismissed it because it's a joke 8 year olds toss around :) Unless you're being ironic..
I wasn't being ironic, they just missed it completely.
They didn't miss it, they ignored it because it's not very funny since everyone has heard it before.
+George Aveline It was hilarious!
+mbrandon11 I found it fucking hilarious.
I went through the comments to see if anyone else noticed. well played!
16:10 Karl saying "One at a time" how did that go unnoticed? Hahahahaha
Was just about to comment this. One of the best jokes in the series and they missed it 😂
"He looks at her, she's got a great figure, nice face and all that"
"Lovely knob"
CaptainCroak got a bit of a frog in her throat.
I love that when Ricky & Steve are talking about going round to do an outside broadcast at Karl's flat, wanting to see the 'Dancing Chinese kid', Ricky says that he's actually more likely to be 35 & Karl disagrees 'Well...more like 28' as Karl later voices the opinion that you only see young and really old Chinese people, you never seem them in their 30s!
Great observation!!
Stop being so bloody modest! You ARE a doctor!
You don't know when the lightbulb was invented you're a doctor not a historian.
Steve: "It's not poof daddy, it's puff daddy. And he's not even called that anymore, he's called P. Diddy"
Karl: "Well..."
Steve: "Fair enough."
Shows you just how powerful the phrase "Well..." is in British culture hahah
Steve calling anything ‘dynamite’ always makes me laugh
Love the way Steve speaks. "Man alive", "interminable".
I thought we'd all agreed rockbusters was a peice of old toss
"Arbitrary"
Man alive 😂
True enough
Probably 5th listen of the xfm series over many years. Never gets old. Nothing gets close.
"How many? Literally lots?"
37:14 "Its about frogs Ker-mitted...."
39:53 "Have you heard the news toad-ay?"
"Karl's getting flustered because I put an elastic band around his head" 😂

+OmikronWeapon sounds like Poor Leno by Royksopp
+dopegar you sir, are correct. I've added it. My thanks.
Classic songs , educating the youngsters.
wow. you sad person
Ive been listening to these podcasts since ive seen Karl on an idiot abroad on the travel channel......they all work so well together
+Nick F Perfect comedy
+Nick F Don't confuse podcasts with XFM radio shows. The podcasts came later, then "The Guides to...", TV shows, animated shows, etc... but I still think that nothing beats these radio shows.
+stoox006 Agreed. I listened to the podcasts before I even knew about the XFM shows and I thought they were brilliant. I can't listen to them anymore, they just feel like whittled down XFM shows. I just wish the XFM shows had all the swearing that the podcasts have. That would be a right storm.
Always blows my mind when I hear Ben Kweller play at 40:12. He’s a pretty small time Texas kid at the time this aired, but was one of my favorites growing up.
I just wonder if Dickie Anderson know he's a cult villain !!
RANDERS!!!
Dickie docky dando!!!!
I do like that I’m clearly not the only one that still listens to these in 2020.
Dickmyster general!!
Hahaha he’s actually been tracked down over the years and he knows how iconic he is to us mentalists. There’s this RSK Facebook group that he’s in where he did an ask me anything a bit back, was a good laugh.
one of the more positive atmosphere episodes of season 2. love it
Dicky Anders!!!
+gdafydd4 Dicky Docky Do
+Jamie Fitzgrade The Big Dick!
+ticklish How's the munkster

The dick Machine!
16:10 "One at a time" is probably one of my favorite jokes that Karl has ever said. Nobody noticed :(
+Spazzitron McGee They did. It's just very old and very lame.
Spazzitron McGee I still don't get it 😂
I think I'm on my 4th or 5th time round, and I've only just heard it
Bryn Saunders Karl was suggesting that the machine thought there were 2 people as he was so big and fat.
Wouldn't it be irrelevant if it's measuring bodyfat, not weight?
The title on it's own is great. Aqualong :D
hahaha selling a table and a futon on air!! amazing
the outside broadcast idea should have happened, that would have been amazing
‘It’s a bit late to pull out’ - 😂😂 this is why Steve is underrated!
52:17 I LOVE Steve reading out a listener calling Karl a moron.
Great episode, such fun relistening to these!
He doesn't like women... yet he's got a couple of kids that's a bit weird - P.D
Don't always judge a man by his glass eye
I actually still haven't seen Hellreiser. 😆
Karl is actually spot on about people overcompensating their slight calorie deficit after exercise
‘One at a time’ 16:13 is underrated
Whoever did the captions for these shows!! Amazing
its a shame the live show never happened
Karl laughing is honestly one of the treats in my life
51:16 Karl's pause before he gives the answer is brilliant.
Is this the first appearance of dicky Anderson?
ol dicky wicky woowoo? yes 24:00
officially yes, I still think he's the Richard who called in with "High and dry" for she's electric.
CORNISHDUDE to
I like the idea of that! Remember that episode
Its a nice thought but I doubt it haha
cheers for the uploads mate
i love how each of the guys has their own catchphrase... for karl, its "weird, innit?" steve's is "man alive!" and ricky's is of course his laugh (dont know if that counts as a catch phrase, but...)
Ricky's is definitely "Play a record"
+Ronald McBanter Steve does use the word "arbitrary" too much as well.
+Jonathan Widdowson he uses that word so arbitrarily
"...That's libellous!.."
Jonathan Widdowson how about 'abreast' he loves that too
'Ban gulls' works so much better in a Northern accent. It's not surprising the predominantly London-based audience didn't get it.
R + S - "Shiny! Shiny! Shiny boots of leather!"
45:20 - I love how Ricky shut right up after being proven wrong, thinking he knows it all.
Ricky has stated many times that most of what he and Steve say is conjecture. He doesn't claim to know it all.
Ricky was right. The phrase does come from sounding like a frog and not any kind of medieval practice.
Same thing with the 1000 monkeys Shakespeare thing.
He said it was true and Karl denied it, then a maths student emailed in and corrected Ricky that infinitely makes it highly likely they’ll write Shakespeare but not a mathematical certainty.
Ricky acted like that’s what he said all along then deleted this from his memory and kept on saying the 1000 monkeys myth afterwards.
Ricky’s intellectual insecurity is perhaps his most unfortunate characteristic.
@@jimmy2k4o it's not 1000 monkeys lol
At 16:15 i heard Karl say "one at a time" in reference to Jonno Coleman's weigh in. First time I'd ever caught that in years of listening 😂😂😂😂😂
KARL LAUGHING
Ah,it's great to hear Karl laugh.
Karl:one at a time. Went unnoticed
"...is this a potty under the bed?"
34:20 cracks me up when Ricky gets the clue
Apparently Karl's origin of "burning the candle at both ends" is bollocks, and it actually came from 17th century france, where candles were pretty expensive, and burning them at both ends invokes the image that you were wastefully burning through money, and eventually the phrase mutated into burning through your own energy rather than money.
Okay but his explanation of "shut your face" is presumably true
I love the bits where Karl gets genuinely annoyed 😂
If this doesn't turn Dickie round, nothing will
After years and many times listening to these, I have to say, Educating Ricky, was way better than Rockbusters. Rockbusters really was a shambles.
Karl's laugh is so funny to hear since, it's rare on these hahaha
Modsforfun time code?
A genuine Karl laugh. So rare but always amazing :)
21:30 "Can we get Karl on telly?"
3:32 Poor Karl! Lol. If only he knew what was awaiting him!
*"FOKKING TWAT!!!! YOU FOKKING TWATTT!!!!!!"* Hehe!
+Hope Ⓥ Justice lol
they're best friends...Ricky says that nearly every episode. And Karl says that there has only been one incident where he's walked out on one of the podcasts. But usually Karl is alright with it
Dess tiny's child 😂
+Taylor Lynn darren shan reference?
I approve
TheGoodFather Yes!
CMD Parodies you're a fan too?
TheGoodFather Yeah, read the series about 4 times now. Just wish the books were a little longer.
CMD Parodies Me too!
Now... have you seen the vampires' assistant movie? And what do you think of it?
Karls "one at a time" snuck under the radar...
Miles McClagan yeah I was surprised they didn't pick up on that.
Cos it's a really old shit joke
Waster
It's naff that's why.
Love this episode
This seems to be the first episode that Ricky says lets get Karl on TV. Now he's got 3 or 4 shows under his belt!
Karl Sneaky Little “One At A Time” In Relation To Rick Waller Being Weighed. DAMN.
It makes you sit bolt upright if not slightly forward
51:26 I think their laughs for Bangulls must be their best on the show
I wish I could go back to the first time I heard "Ban Gulls"
Here's a question - can anyone work out where Karl used to live while they were doing this show? (I don't know by the way)
Some clues I've picked up:
- Here he says the parking is bad round his way
- It's walking distance from the studio
- He walks through Soho to get to the studio (which was in Leicester Square)
- It's a high street
- It's central London
So, it has to be somewhere to the North-West of Leicester Square. I'm thinking it's perhaps Maylebone or Paddington kind of area. Although in central London a lot of roads could be called a high street.
Any ideas??
It seems as though at this point, Ricky lived somewhere around Charlotte Street, Percy Street and Rathbone place as he mentions those when looking for an office. Steve lived up in the Swiss Cottage-Finchley Road kind of area.
Owen Also had to be opposite or near some sort of Italian restaurant maybe. He mentions some "gangsters" outside making loads of noise at all hours.
Owen it was opposite a Chinese kid
n an old woman reading a book
Samuel Headley but she was always wearing the same clothes and on the same page every night.
This is creepy. Who cares where any of them lived lol.
EVEN KARL SEEMS SURPRISED BY HIS LAUGHTER
Poof Daddy and Des Tiny's Child all in one episode. What a treat
31:22 Karl inadvertently stumbles upon the correct interpretation of his theory which is that Asians age very well. The young chinese kid to him is actually an adult man.
never heard karl laugh so much in an episode
Banguls
DICKERS!
How did Graceland start?
"If you have a steak in Argentina, you can wake up with breasts"
One of the biggest mysteries of these tapes... when the hell did Karl ever say anything remotely like this?? He certainly didn't 'tell them last week' lol
@@ufoash440 I always assumed it was during a record, not on air
@@Glozboy22 Steve specifically asks 'Did you tell us this on air?' and Karl says 'Yeah'
@@ufoash440 and Karl of course has never once been wrong
Excellent pfp
38:06 "eat a Mars bar or whatever it's like uaagh" LOL this little noise from Karl!
Karl can close a deal. Remember Pilko Pump Pants?
It is remarkable that there are STILL people who think this show was scripted. In this episode, they do a link where they argue about whether or not they can do a live broadcast from Karl’s flat. Imagine proposing that as an idea!
“And then we’ll talk for five minutes about whether to do a show from Karl’s place. And Karl- you come up with reasons why you don’t like the idea. That’ll be great radio.”
This isn’t a knock on the quality of the show, but none of this is scripted. The amount of effort that went into it (zero) is immediately apparent. They are constantly winging it, and more often than not striking pure gold.
Man, golden....but Ricky is so smug, so convinced that there is no higher power. Wish I could be that confident about anything! Imagine being convinced that all life that exists came from an explosion in the cosmos, and through natural selection went from slime to complicated mammals. Wow, that's faith!
Ricky’s right
I'd have to agree with him to be honest, we die and that's it! There's nothing after death! Play a record
@@Nickersons-Theme None of us know that. Extreme hubris right there.
@@Vingul its called common sense.
@@Nickersons-Theme No, it's called hubris.
When did Karl ever talk on air about growing boobs by eating a steak from Argentina? x
BigJamook I don't ever recall him doing so! Maybe he dreamt it 😂
He didn't, that was him making a joke about how he always comes out with rubbish
Des's tiny child ( sorry, late to the party )
11:50 the birth of Derek

Ricky doing that “pub quiz regular” thing where they drop a random fact they remember about something in the conversation to demonstrate how smart they are with the frog name.
19:55 Lol Ricky used that joke for one of his stand ups. But when Karl said it here he barely laughed.
Well……
Not exactly the same joke but I’m sure a seed was planted.
But it could have happened organically, I’m sure Ricky took more Helios between 2002 and 2011 and his joke was about the Iceland volcano.
