Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to UA-cam videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. Lots of love, Man Moth.
This is possibly the best show they’ve ever done. A few highlights: - Drunk Ricky at the start - The best prize in XFM history, Children Of The Corn - What’s Tomato With You? - When a listener sends in a Rockbusters clue so Karl takes it and immediately disqualifies the listener - Frog Boy, saddo or amploid - Karl has to decide which animal he would be to avoid the government and get his brain back - Cutting a worm in half - Karl’s dad putting the kid in the wheelie bin - Karl’s leech facts - The shadow that pushed people off their bikes Just amazing.
@Jacob Jaywant I think the point is they really don't care, they didn't get paid for these shows and most of time rely on Karl to maintain some semblance of order, whether he was or wasn't it's pretty funny
I just love how casual they are in this episode like they generally aren't bothered they are live to the point they are eatting and no one is talking while live it's brilliant xD

I feel compelled all these years later to aid Karl regarding tomatoes. He is correct. An essay in defense of Pilkington: Tomatoes were brought to England from the New World, where they are native. It just so happened that at this same time, there was a societal transition from wooden plates to pewter plates as a sign of wealth. However, the acidity in tomatoes would leech the lead out of the pewter plates. And people with heightened lead sensitivity would get very ill. This lead to the belief that tomatoes themselves were poisonous, which isn't an enormous leap considering they're a member of the Nightshade family. It's also not a surprise considering the English belief regarding vegetables and health in general. But there's an even more interesting element to this. Because they had this produce which no one wanted, they decided to ship it to poorer countries to try and get a return on investment. As such, they wound up in Italy, a historically poor country after the fall of the Roman empire with limited natural resources. And the Italians, doing what they do best by spinning limitations into effing gold, merged the crop into their diet and created one of if not the culinary capital of the world. And all of that happened by a chance intersection of social change. In summary, Karl is 100% correct.
