Fast forward several years later Derek comes along and Karl is adlibing shouting at a heartless executive trying to turn a profit from the elderly 👍it's great how things work out
Ricky’s spot on with Karl’s hypothetical version of the Peter the Great story. :D “In Karl’s version it would’ve been: ‘summin’ weird ‘appened right and turns out ‘e was still alive an’ so she was still ‘avin sex with body and his ‘ed was watchin’”
Everytime i hear Peter the great, i look forward to karls trouble understanding what happend, and i also get a little bit annoyed, because i cant work out how he cant work out what happend. 🤣😂

Karl comes up with something to moan about, eg, David Bowie changes his songs when performing live. Ricky and Steve explain that it's not true, or a misconception, and explain why it's not the way Karl thinks it is. Eg, Bowie changed a note here and there but it was a faithful rendition. Karl ploughs on without listening to a word they said, and gets annoyed at what he's just made up in his own head. Eg, the titanic not sinking. I've been listening to this formula for over a decade and it's still incredible. I'll never get tired of Karl.
Something massive came out my mates nose! Doc sent it off for testing, turns out it was a lump of chicken. Apparently he had fallen asleep eating a chicken kebab, and a piece had worked its way into he's nasal passage, when it came out it looked nothing like chicken, more like some sort of brain mucus, and that's what he thought it was lol gave him a proper scare. True story that also fucking funny, when he got he's results. Lol
I’m playing these in order, like I’m sure many of you are. Almost every episode a moment comes up where I think “this is probably my favourite part of the whole series”, and then of course something even better is on the next one up. But the problem with the marrow… it’s gotta be up there.
I'm sure one part of the reasons for him leaving Derek other than being nervous with acting was the fact that he was literally playing the exact same relationship with Ricky he has in real life except on national television. Like when Derek tackled Dougie and just sat on him, Ricky does that in real life to Karl or when Derek got on Dougies nerves, Ricky does that in real life consistently etc so it was like Ricky was once again paying Karl to be a clown for him to mess about with so I'd guess Karl wanted to just go off on his own for a bit back to Moaning of Life where he at least had a bit of a say in what he could do.
"...What, like... while you're doing the house work?..." "...What... so.. he cut off his own head?!.." "...78 year old Chinese woman.. she say's she's 78... ...yeah she's doing alright, kept her grounded!" I think Karl has ADD and often leans towards Aspergers.
He's a comic genius. Even if most of the stuff he comes out with is just him being himself and is basically accidental, it's still all down to his sense of comic timing and absurdism. He's just a unique, wonderful creature. I do wonder sometimes what would've happened if Ricky and Steve hadn't met him though. Because as brilliant as he is, Ricky(and to a lesser extent Steve) really did polish him to a sheen and make him so much funnier than he normally is. It really is one of those cosmic coincidences, a proper sliding doors moment.
I don't understand the people who say Karl is a genius when he constantly proves the opposite. He's damn funny and occationally says something other people don't think of but that's because he has no sense of critical thinking and belives pretty much anything he reads or hears as long as he finds it amusing enough.
I think it’s some sort of suspension of reality Because the stuff he says is funny they also want it to be true 😂 He’s actually really, really stupid. In the genuine sense of the word. He’s not autistic but his brain has not travelled into the future with his body since he was a child
@@Scallion_D he hásn't even got the common sense, he claims he has. Fucker can't even listen to a story about 3 people without grasping the fact that there's twó men in there instead of one, cutting his ówn head off...
Something that has just occurred to me listening today after many years of listening, Karl has stories about his brother in the army, past Xmas times, his brother womanising etc, but not a single story about his sister, apart from this brief mention. I wonder why?
the fact that karl can survive in this world until 50 with a brain like that is honestly inspiring, listening to that peter the great story was mind blowing

48:15 - mad...I'd always wondered where that Jim Sterling title music came from...
Baffled by how the two are connected
I don't understand the people who say Karl is a genius when he constantly proves the opposite. He's damn funny and occationally says something other people don't think of but that's because he has no sense of critical thinking and belives pretty much anything he reads or hears as long as he finds it amusing enough.
+johgus96 it like he has two "right" brains
johgus96 He’s just saying things that he knows will get a strong reaction from Ricky.
I think it’s some sort of suspension of reality
Because the stuff he says is funny they also want it to be true 😂
He’s actually really, really stupid. In the genuine sense of the word. He’s not autistic but his brain has not travelled into the future with his body since he was a child
He's really a fool.
I can't believe people actually think he isn't!
@@Scallion_D he hásn't even got the common sense, he claims he has. Fucker can't even listen to a story about 3 people without grasping the fact that there's twó men in there instead of one, cutting his ówn head off...
Just came across this by chance on the day that Bowie died - as fitting a tribute as anything out there - RIP
+William Daza Defenitely. They became good friends too.
Steve said the guys comment about butt plugs was homophobic yet he said the same thing just earlier not even 5 minutes before
He said "To keep things out" and not "So your gay friend can't sneak in and do stuff to you while you're asleep.
Jessie Araujo I think ricky said to keep people out specifically tho lol
Do you think Toffee changed their name to Drill Queen because Ricky Gervais said he didn't like the name?
HeatyFrog I dunno but I definitely prefer Drill Queen.
“I’m calling about your plugs!”
'well not my plugs'
After hearing this years ago I got some stuff from picture centre and listen to it all the time. It’s
The Babylonian part kills me. 😂😂😂
Something that has just occurred to me listening today after many years of listening, Karl has stories about his brother in the army, past Xmas times, his brother womanising etc, but not a single story about his sister, apart from this brief mention. I wonder why?
i think she was even older than his brother so she probobly wasn't around too much
Whinging little twaaaaaaat... How're ya, alright? 😂
I really liked the music section and it always pisses me off that they just drop it cus Karl's not bothered.
Something came out of your nose...that was massive.
"he took his own head off?"
"What did you think of (every song ever played on the show), Karl?"
"Yeh it's alrite"
‘Walking in today...’
‘Well you don’t walk - you mince, don’t ya?’
the fact that karl can survive in this world until 50 with a brain like that is honestly inspiring, listening to that peter the great story was mind blowing
his past twenty years
have been easier
because of ricky
otherwise he
woulda been
working a menial
job six days
a week
He cut off his own head?
Fun fact: the documentary mentioned by Karl was the first episode of Bodysnatchers, a BBC documentary narrated by Ross Kemp.
Thanks for uploading these!
Hope you enjoy Tom :-)
Love listening to these while animating!
Man Moth I listen whilst whacking it.
The feature for the unsigned artists is actually the best feature they ever had on these shows, shame they didn't do more of it.
Loved the segment Steve came up (Hit parade or s**t parade) with playing music from obscure or up and coming bands for Ricky the former musician/singer to judge.
Wished it came along much earlier and was a semi regular thing.
AT 40:06 WHERE KARL SAYS DONT OPEN PEOPLES LETTER THEN SAYS , "I OPENED THAT LETTER ONE TIME" when he opened it on air xD
Ricky’s screech and moans in his laugh cracks me up every time
1:54 Love how they say later in the episode that’s the most homophonic thing said on the show when they said the exact same thing 😂
How many advertisements are on this video?!?! It’s crazy, usually not the case . . . Crazy!!
