    The chest is mistransformed, you still needed to fold the grille into his chest to make him more show accurate.

    Breakdown was actually released TWICE in Japan. Once in this colour, and one in black with Silas sculpted in where the panel under his chest is. REALLY creepy.
    EDIT: And of course you acknowledged that in the end, lol. I need to wait until the end of the video before I comment XD

    Would clear nail polish work a bit better to keep the stickers in place? Or would it damage the paint on the stickers?

    Poor Breakdown. First he gets absolutely MURDERED by Arachnid in the show (it makes it even worse when you consider at one point he was ATTRACTED to her, according to the wiki), and then he gets screwed out of a toy in the States. He just had it rough all around, I think...

    That part about needing to mold away the ports, that was not stated by Hasbro. That was speculation by TFormers.

    I hope that you didn't have to splurge too much when you first bought the figure, especially with the 10th anniversary 2-pack. Still, thanks for the honest review, I definitely didn't regret getting him and the Jet Vehicon.

    You mistransformed the chest, the bumper folds inside the torso to be fully show accurate. I do like this toy, though mine came with two left feet which ruins him unfortunately

    This version was sadly too hard and expensive for me to find. So I ended up with the Silas version which is black and has Silas molded inside his chest. It doesn't matter that I didn't have the blue one because I do love the black version a little more than the blue version.

      +Nickster891 Silas Breakdown is a black repaint with remolded parts. He's got a battle damaged head and a different chest with a little human Silas molded into it. It's a minor detail as you can't really see the new molding in the chest except during transformation but it's kinda cool that they added that detail from the show.

    Good lord, this guy right now is like going for hundreds of bucks online. Like I'd be lucky if there was actually one under $80, but probably at some old shop or something. But yeah, good toy, but as of now, CRAZY EXPENSIVE unless you're ACTUALLY willing to spend your investment on it.

    • @NightmareZerogbs
      @NightmareZerogbs 8 років тому +1

      +THE CMOOSE it is! All the joints are tight and his deco feels pretty unique(even if he's cast in the exact same shade of red as First Edition Optimus, the different contrast makes it look as if he wasn't), also, the Headsculpt has a lot of personality.
      …maybe I should do a review of him.

    Thank goodness we finally got a release in the United States because of Hasbro Pulse, and then a two pack with an Air Vehicon! I'd feel pretty salty if I had to pay $100 just for Arms Micron Breakdown considering the recent release.
    It's kind of annoying how Breakdown was an integral part of the Decepticon cast and yet Hasbro wasn't wise enough to release it in the United States. It's just more of their stupidity, like giving Beast Hunters Optimus Prime green windows.

    • @TJOmega
      @TJOmega  4 роки тому

      It's not a matter of stupidity. Hasbro wasn't able to release it then because Takara designed it for their market, the toy didn't fit the size or gimmick of their voyager line and adapting it to fit Prime RID was going to make it too expensive.

    I think stickers only work with Transformers that are as easy to transform as G1 Figures... The arms Micron Figures are much too complicated in terms of transformation for using stickers... Nice idea but sadly didnt work well..

  • @RialVestro
    @RialVestro 8 років тому

    We did technically get a Breakdown toy in the U.S. but that little legends versions really doesn't do the character any justice. This guy is huge and having a toy that small to represent a character that's suppose to be as big as Bulkhead really doesn't work.
    I really don't get why Hasbro never released this figure because it's a literal gold mine. Breakdown has FOUR possible retools they could do and from what I remember on the forums everyone wanted every possible version of this figure. It's a great way for Hasbro to make some extra money without having to engineer a brand new toy from scratch. This really should of just been Breakdown. War Breakdown I could see being the name for the eye patch wearing variant. Silas or Cylas as he was calling himself at the time which stood for CYbernetic Life Augmented by Symbiosis could of been another variant. Then there's the Zombie Vampire version of Breakdown which I think would look cool having a head sculpt with the lower jaw split open. I don't think they would go so far as to mold a new head with hinged jaws for that zombie head but I'd be perfectly fine with a head mold done with the jaw permanently hinged open, probably will be like midway open just so it still fits in vehicle mode but still would look great with a mid attack zombie vampire head. Even Japan never did that one or the eye patch head mold. They just skipped straight from normal Breakdown to Silas Breakdown.
    Speaking of Silas another figure we never got in the U.S. is Nemesis Prime. This is even weirder than Breakdown considering he's literally just an Optimus Prime repaint. Hasbro's never had an issue with repaints before and there's at least five different repaints of the current RID Optimus Prime so why no Nemesis Prime?
    BTW, I was wearing headphones during that squeaking bit... my computer doesn't have speakers...

    • @DetectiveBarricade
      @DetectiveBarricade 8 років тому

      +RialVestro My theory is Breakdown didn't play well at all with the Powerizer gimmick Hasbro was doing at the time, as there's no way for an LED to shine through into his belly when transformed properly. And probably decided they still didn't want to release it in Beast Hunters as then they'd have to give him beast armor bits like Shockwave or something.

    • @RialVestro
      @RialVestro 8 років тому

      DetectiveBarricade Well that Powerizer gimmick was stupid and really shouldn't have been done in the first place. In fact they probably could have saved money on toy production if they didn't have that gimmick. Optimus could of had solid red arms which everyone wanted anyway instead of those separate translucent parts. They wouldn't need electronics for a gimmick that didn't even work. (Those weapons never really lit up those translucent parts so the whole thing was pointless.) They could of had more show accurate weapons and worked in a gimmick that way. That's all anyone really wanted out of these figures was weapons that are built into the arm and look like the weapons the characters use in the show. I don't really like the Arms Micron or the Powerizer gimmicks, they're both terrible and have nothing to do with the show. If they didn't use the stupid Powerizer stuff maybe they would of been able to actually release this dude in the U.S. and I wouldn't of needed to paint over the translucent arms of my Optimus Prime.

    • @DetectiveBarricade
      @DetectiveBarricade 8 років тому

      RialVestro
      True, but sadly that was what Hasbro was doing with the Voyagers at the time, and Breakdown wasn't designed to fit with that play pattern. I like the Arms Micron Microns themselves, (a fair few were available on their own, and Gabu/Baru/Dai/Dark Matter Caliber is my favorite team) and the idea of the stickers, but the stickers aren't of great quality.
      Those Powerizer weapons couldn't really even light themselves up, and the inability to lock them in a mode that actually made them look like a weapon was pretty awful. I don't get what Hasbro was thinking with these, and am glad we've moved away from those.

    • @RialVestro
      @RialVestro 8 років тому

      DetectiveBarricade
      You actually can lock the weapons but they're not designed that way. Locking them involves breaking the gearing system which I have done.
