I want this character to come back since he has such a unique weapon and design that he needs a definite personality to go with it, card backs only give you so much character-wise.
It is prone to gps in some cases, like mine especially. I had mine sitting on the shelf since it was released. The hinge didn't crack, it crumbled apart
i would love a Megaman or X repaint of this mold with new head. really thing it would work, i mean he has Megabusters loaded in thoes arms thanks to transformation
I have the Depth Charge redeco, and it showed me why this was such a good mold. Excellent articulation(Waist joint? With that transformation design? How?..), lots of character, a very unique accessory, and one very great jet mode. Also, as a "hidden" feature, he can use the jet exhaust as an arm cannon. Me being a Metroid and Mega Man fan, I just love it when a toy can do a proper arm cannon. But it does make up for the seeming lack of ranged weaponry, though the trident has a barrel in the middle prong, giving it the hint that it can fire something out. The club took notice of this, and gave the Depth Charge redeco the ability to use the barrel of the Trident for a ranged attack in the bio and the comic. But the fact it can do so much, and one's imagination can really take it further, make it one of the best Transformers molds of all time (As another bonus, it's one of the few movie toys to not be a chicken walker). I will not be giving my copy away easy if I ever need to get rid of my collection, that one will be one of several that are above purging. Also, don't worry about the voice and snot TJ, you're still recovering, I completely understand. You need to take time off, you should do so. Being sick simply can't be helped, it's something those of us who are reasonable can understand. Don't push yourself if you don't need to, as much as I know you promised to have content up three times a week, if you need to put it off to recover, do so. You still have the next week once you kick it off to get back into the swing of things. Or just do a three episode day like Saturday if you really feel you need to make up for it once you get better. Just take care of yourself, we'll still be here, we'll still support you in the ways we already do.
Nice. GPS/goldish plastic deterioration update today: The trident turned sticky and the hinge got stuck to the metal pin, in turn cracking while unfolding. Thankfully, the robot itself does not use any gold plastic on its person (weird, eh, it's like the weapon handle bits came from an independent frame, perhaps gang-moulded with other movieverse character weapons & accessories). Great review of an otherwise stellar figure.
The head reminds me of Depth Charge from Beast Wars. Which makes that they re-used the sculpt for a convention-exclusive Depth Charge not that surprising to me.
Nice review I got this figure when it first came out & the hinge on the trident was already cracked fresh out of the package so I just figured the pin was too tight.
My trident broke too, so it's now permanently glued into the open position. Regardless, it's still one of the best movie toys ever released. His aesthetic always reminded me of some kind of elite royal guard who would stand beside the throne and impale the first person to give his king a dirty look.
Gustavo Barrios That's a freaking amazing toy, but the car mode is way too fiddly so I just display it in car mode and don't touch him because if I do the sides will pop out.
WHAT?!? I didn't know the trident was fragile! Now I'm scared to go check mine :S Also, as a Megaman fan, I kinda expected you to show he can go Megabusting, but nice review, I had been waiting for it quite some time! :D
I used to have this toy when I was younger and his trident broke the first time I folded it. It broke towards the top making it useless within an hour out of the box. I think what I did for a weapon for him was fold one of his hands in and make him have a gun arm.
Timothy Sliger Would've been better than adding in Onslaught and killing him off within 5 minutes with one of the dumbest ways you could kill off a juggernaut.
Yo tg, for the next review or maybe plastic addict, it should be so of the supreme class Transformers from the movie like: Movie 1 bee, Movie 2 devastator, movie 3 prime, or movie 4 grimlook
Why hasn't this figure made into Cyclonus yet?

True
2009-2011 was a solid era for Transformers, Bludgeon, Mindwipe, Seaspray, Skyhammer, and the tail end of Animated
And Generations, you know.
It is prone to gps in some cases, like mine especially. I had mine sitting on the shelf since it was released. The hinge didn't crack, it crumbled apart
Yo, TJ, Terradive DOES have wrist articulation, his hands are mushroom pegged to the black thingamadoes that allow its hands to transform.
The space case repaint is pretty good as well
I love Depth Charge and love this mold so when I discovered the combination, I happily forked over £25 to eBay. Still so happy I did!

he did too have Wrist rotation. maybe the joint was too tight on yours? Mine had wonderful wrist swivels
Griffin Hall Yeah how can you miss that? It's like one of his best features. Sloppy work, TJ.
This mold would make a good Cyclonus😂😂😂

"Nothing in the wrist"
Lies! Try twisting the hand itself, rather than the forearm!
I still remember the podcast episode where Chris basically gushed over this toy for like an hour many years ago. haha, forced me to go out and buy it.
I have this figure its still on my shelf. Always thought of depth charge. Great review man
yeah, the trident's hinge on mine totally snapped off after leaving it in a bin for a year. really bummed me out.
The head reminds me of Depth Charge from Beast Wars. Which makes that they re-used the sculpt for a convention-exclusive Depth Charge not that surprising to me.
Nice review

so I just figured the pin was too tight.
Loved my tfcc depthcharge that came from this figure
I've still got this guy, I absolutely adore it, especially his Jet mode
I have this figure and I love it!! My only problem is that I've lost the trident... I found it again last year, but I lost it again...
I think I heard some people say that he reminded them of G2 Space Case at the time, and that they liked that about him, too.
Well, on the plus side, if the trident does break I guess you could just use it as two smaller weapons.
+W2daERN Or take advantage of the fact that his hands form his jets and give him arm-cannons.
I never found this figure in stores. However, I got Space Case, who felt even greater compared to the new molds of the DotM line.
My trident broke too, so it's now permanently glued into the open position. Regardless, it's still one of the best movie toys ever released. His aesthetic always reminded me of some kind of elite royal guard who would stand beside the throne and impale the first person to give his king a dirty look.
Also, talking about toys everyone gushed about...have you considered Generations Springer for a Random Review?
Gustavo Barrios That's a freaking amazing toy, but the car mode is way too fiddly so I just display it in car mode and don't touch him because if I do the sides will pop out.
I love this mold SOOOO much, especially when it was used for Depth Charge
+Michael Saylor Me, too. Absolutely perfect recolor. :)
WHAT?!? I didn't know the trident was fragile! Now I'm scared to go check mine :S
Also, as a Megaman fan, I kinda expected you to show he can go Megabusting, but nice review, I had been waiting for it quite some time! :D
+Gustavo Barrios yeah, i nice little fan mode for more firepower, and goes with the movie style.
Hey this guy appeared in a Beast Wars story as a G1 character (Probably seperate from the Skyscorcher of the same name.).
My favorite mold I have. Granted I totally scratched the nosecone because it just wouldn't come undone the first time.
SandDeath24 The very front wings (the small ones that become the chest) on mine have kind of split, so I'm kinda sad.
One of the best molds in the last decade, maybe ever!! Shame about the GPS (or non-gps fragility) of the trident.
I used to have this toy when I was younger and his trident broke the first time I folded it. It broke towards the top making it useless within an hour out of the box. I think what I did for a weapon for him was fold one of his hands in and make him have a gun arm.
Reminds me a lot of Valkyries. Also, there should be a gerwalk mode XD
It's fiddly reviews like this that keep me from asking you to look at the Alternator's Side Swipe. xD;; And I wish that was a typo.
this guy always made me think of macross in a good way great mold
i soldmine years ago, man do i miss him :(
Oddly enough, I have almost every version of this except for Terradive.
he does have wrist rotation TJ
The spacecase version does look nice, but the wings can come off.
My spacecase and terradive trident broke on mine.
I love the TFCC version (Depth Charge)
The jet mode looks like the fighter jets in Stealth
A gen 5 Russian aircraft currently in development
one of my favorite
animated starscream was like that too
One of my all time favorites Bdw sorry to be that Guy but the wrists do swivel
I really wish they would put this character in one of the movies as like the new main villian
Timothy Sliger Would've been better than adding in Onslaught and killing him off within 5 minutes with one of the dumbest ways you could kill off a juggernaut.
You should do dirge or air raid
Why was this not repainted as Cyclonus?
Nope. He got repainted as Space Case and Depth Charge.
Sukoi SU -47 is the mold
Yo tg, for the next review or maybe plastic addict, it should be so of the supreme class Transformers from the movie like: Movie 1 bee, Movie 2 devastator, movie 3 prime, or movie 4 grimlook
Sorry, damn auto correction, "some of the" not "so of the"
Great mold
Wrists are rotated. :P
The head popped off mine, and then my cat are it. So I have a headless version.... special edition.
And your cat didn't... you know... give it back? :P
+Highbrow98 honestly I didn't look.
Well, I guess I wouldn't bother to look for it either...
Though I've seen worse things.
vine1313 You should have popped it right back on. It's kind of a loose joint.
awesome Toy and my bot #100 no less
