Transformers: Decepticons was such a gem. It was cool learning about the decepticon hierarchy and seeing where every cons loyalty lied. Barricade had a really cool story in that game
True. I have yet to get the game so I can enjoy boths sides (I only have autobots version) and I have yet to get a pc so I can unlock the remaining cheat codes and vehicles bue the ds save replay card.
@smt3 it's worth noting the DSi and 3DS can both play backups and dumps Considering most of the studios that made these games shut down, these titles are considered abandonware, and you can find archives of them pretty frequently
Yeah, they had a winning formula and could've just iterated on it like how Spider-Man games mostly use the same formula established from the 2004 Sam Raimi tie-in game or how most Ben 10 games stick with the formula from Protector of Earth
Also the most disappointing game to me is Transformers Animated cause I enjoyed the show and it had some solid action scenes so hearing about the tie-in game got me curious I imagined it would be like the previous game but with the TF Animated art style and story but left feeling disappointed when actually coming across the game
@@datguy8006 yes. And you especially lost the open world part of it and the freedom to customize your character (and eventually the custom character part of it too).
TF Decepticons was straight up a visual novel, it was all a power struggle for the Allspark and the Decepticons leadership. As a matter of fact, they didn't seem to care too much about the Autobots in that game, they were just.... kinda there I guess? Starscream in that game was absolutely ruthless. If he had to kill a fellow Decepticon, he didn't give it a second thought. Then the ultimate betrayal came when Starscream was dealt with and Megatron killed the rookie. What I didn't like about that game is that, obviously, it was written as a standalone game. But because of the second game, they had to scrap all that storyline and basically make the player forget about everything that happened in the first game.

Revenge of the Fallen on DS was my first transformers on the DS platform and story wise it's nice to see that your character actually don't die this time around, in Autobots he just become a full part of the Autobots team after defeating Megatron alone and earning Optimus respect. But Decepticon was the most satisfying one with your character destroying Optimus alone but also humiliating Megatron in front of the Fallen by doing so, the Fallen make your character the new Decepticon general, claiming that Megatron can't be if a simple soldier did what he didn't suceeded to do... now that is an impressive promotion, and of course we made Starscream laugh of delight with that
As much as I despised ROTF being a downgrade of the prior game, reading this ending for the Decepticons version makes it feel like a playthrough might be worth it. Shame I only picked up the Autobots version then
The Decepticons DS version was on par, at least to me, with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky for story. You got emotionally invested in the characters, they felt like they had their own uniqueness, and the music for the respective final battles is, and always will be, some of the most epic music out there.
Transformers Deceptions for the DS is a certified hood classic. Idk how Various Visions (rip) pulled it off, but it puts the movie to shame. As someone who did Allspark mode, I literally 101% it due to playing it weekly. G1 Starscream is broken lol Also, WFC DS versions were actually fun aside from the short main game. The fact that you can still play as the opposite faction even in one version (with some of the main levels) was surprising. The side maps made up for it and it felt great being able to choose your own team of two to beat the game. 9:55 Speaking of running well, frame rates drop when you use Starscream and unlock his explosive blasters.
I was never able to get the online mode to work. And by the time I was more serious about completing everything. They shut it down unfortunately. Never got the extra skins etc.
The 2007 DS versions were much better than the home console ones. Cuss the home console has you driving & destroying like crazy. Each open world level has 4 missions you had to complete. Which leads to the finale of both campaigns with either Optimus Prime or Megatron going all out on each other. The DS games really did a good job with the story, while playing as a rookie who scans any type of vehicle.
I’m so glad i finally found a fellow tf wfc ds fan, that game is goated and my childhood, just so many memories…. It’s such a shame it was hella overshadowed by the console version, i just want people to talk about this game more…
I knew my weird niche obsession with the TF ds games would pay off one day, I’m glad you had a surprising amount of fun with these! It was nice seeing the games I loved as a kid be brought into this light cause a good few are legitimately underrated gems
I grew up on the ds war for cybertron game, it was one of (if not the) most favorite game I had ever touched as a kid, I would always bring a flyer because I didn’t know what I was doing and I could use it to camp in the air during boss fights, such a fun game, I remember begging my sister to order the xbox 360 version for me, and after a few months I got it and had one of the best times of my life I also played the dark of the moon games (but didn’t understand them and didn’t like them at all) And I played prime (which I actually really liked, I think it did a better job than the other ones of the same format in my opinion, also I just loved the art style of prime as a kid) Edit of my war for cybertron paragraph: also had to mention how much I loved to grind the side missions to unlock more characters like grimlock, I was so disappointed when I got him as a kid and instead of a cool fire breathing dinosaur, he was just a truck, I didn’t understand when he got that ability until I played FOC

Good video! I spent countless hours on the first one. Probably my fav. ROTF felt like a downgrade for the reasons you mentioned. From what I remember, War for Cybertron had a lot more content and level variety, also good. Dark of the Moon.... not the same man
Same here. I've enjoyed playing the first game a lot (and it was pretty cool that it was actually two different games, where you would play for a different side depending which one you had) and was pretty dissapointed when the sequel not only removed the open world and became more linear, but you couldn't even change your Avatar character's vehicle form after being limited to having to choose just one out of three at the beginning of the game.
9:07 Same goes for the combined versions that were on PSP and consoles. They didn’t have the main problems of the film and even the OST’s were more engaging.
Hear me out; the first two DS games were both fun and technically impressive for what they were. It's worth noting you can also transform into helicopters and planes, as well as two post-game vehicles for 100%ing everything. And the two versions have a unique map each, desoite the rest of the plots following the same beats. The same applies to the sequel of each version that came out a year or so after.
As a kid I genuinely felt sad at the end of the Transformers: autobot version on the DS, fighting alongside optimus prime against megatron and dying with optimus comforting you during your final moments really made me feel like I had made a real difference in the outcome of their long war.
Transformers Autobots and decepticons for the DS, with some of the best DS games to date in my opinion, they had so much potential to become more if they were to experiment with the big open maps with the other entries, sadly that's not the case.
2007 Autobots was the game that I got with my DS for my 7th birthday back in 09, it was the first new piece of gaming tech I ever had up to that point as my family only had an N64 and a few different Gameboy models to share with my siblings, I never finished it as I got stuck on the level where you have to steal a bunch of Sector 7 vehicles while being hunted by an army of enemies. A few years later when I moved on to a DSi-XL I got my hands on War for Cybertron Decepticons and it very quickly became one of my favourites (the only thing I didn't like in either version was the aerial enemies, those were always a pain to fight), sometime later my brother gifted me the Autobot version and if I remember correctly I almost 100%'d both of them, about a year ago my brain decided to get nostalgic for their ost's so I looked them up and to my surprise both games only have a combined 10 or so minutes of music I guess I was too focused on the game-play to notice how short the loops were. This video was a nice trip through memory lane so I thank you for that, I still have all my old DS's and games so maybe one day I'll finally get around to beating 07.
I know this is about the ds games but dark of the moon on playstation was actually really fun. It's basically war for cybertron gameplay but using the bayverse characters. Unlike dark spark the story is decent (Not great but decent) and ties in well into the movie and actually gives some nice explanations like why Megatron is using an Earth based vehicle mode instead of Cybertronian like he normally does. The pvp isn't available anymore but man it was fun. Especially playing as Shockwave. Because he wasn't given a transformation in the movie and wasn't given one till his toys they had to get creative with him in pvp. How? They made him into a unit. He's basically the tank class 2.0 he's even slower but more powerful and his melee would absolutely destroy anyone who got close to him. Yet because he was slow and large he was the guy everyone would target so the best way to play with him was to have allies help defend you while you blast them with high power shots and smack them with almost one shot melees. Did feel a bit unfair that Autobots didn't have their own (They had the usual tank character but they were faster and less bulky than Shockwave) but Autobots weren't defenseless and could still easily win especially since Shockwave wasn't hard to counter if you knew how to play against it (And the more people who played him the eaiser it was to just run away and snipe him from across the map). I will say though the campaign while unique did get a bit boring near the end because it starts to become a defense simulator where you kinda just stay in 1 room for like 5 minutes hiding behind 1-2 pieces of cover before moving up and repeating. Also this game has 2 types of Megatrons his tank form and his truck mode. I don't think you could play the truck version of him in pve though it was cutscene and pvp exclusive if I remember right. Edit: On the Megatron part you did get to play as his truck mode in the story
I've played Prime on both Wii and DS, and i'd say the DS one is preety good. It looks simpler (obviously) and doesn't have collectibles such as emblems, character models and artwork, and the biggest loss is the arena mode (i think that's what it's called). So, it contains only the story mode, with some slightly simplified levels and that's it. But what it does have is both faithful and quite good in terms of quality
Absolutely ranking the WFC DS games as my goats. Those games were so much fun, and had so many cool little unlockables! I spent hours upon hours replaying the game just to find everything and because the gameplay and story, for the DS even were that good. They definitely saved me on long car trips or field trips! The 07 Games, I also loved a lot, I only ever had the decepticons version. Which... happens to be the one everyone praises so much, again the story for a DS game was just mind shattering. You would never expect that from just a DS tie in game!
Dark On The Moon was the first 3D movie I saw. I still have the glasses lol. I like DOTM over ROTF because that first 10 minute NASA founding scene alone is SO WORTH IT. also it is decent in story too.
What happened? THE PEAK OF TRANSFORMERS MEDIA. That happened. And then the games after the 2007 DS games happened But really, I finished the 07 games and Animated and they were awesome, Aninated less so, but I loved that cartoon and I only tried Revenge of the Fallen and War for Cybertron but never got deep, I want to complete War for Cybertron though! I fi ished the 360 games and they are the best things I have ever experienced.

For the 3DS there were only 3 -Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Stealth Force Edition (2011) -Transformers Prime: The Game (2012) -Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark (2014) That was it,there was no 3DS game for Transformers: Devastation (2015)
@@LotsOfToubleUsuallySerious well for “DOTM - Stealth Force Edition” it’s basically a port of the Wii version of the same name & “Rise of the Dark Spark” is a strategy RPG developed by “WayForward Technology” (the developers behind the Shantae series)

What happened? THE PEAK OF TRANSFORMERS MEDIA. That happened. And then the games after the 2007 DS games happened
But really, I finished the 07 games and Animated and they were awesome, Aninated less so, but I loved that cartoon and I only tried Revenge of the Fallen and War for Cybertron but never got deep, I want to complete War for Cybertron though! I fi ished the 360 games and they are the best things I have ever experienced.
I still have my copies of wfc autobots and decepticons i like to get opposing faction bots caught so i can rescue them on the respective version.
played the shit out of rotf autobots when i was a kid, not playing other autobots was my only issue with it and one of the reasons i wanted the 07 games so much
I remember playing the DOTM game as a kid
I love this games, i collected all games in all versions. And WFC Is one of the masterpiece for ds
I just bought a handheld emulator and didn’t even setup my ds games till last night. I had 3ds setup but I seen this game and memories came flooding back, a little weird my phone knows I just started playing this last night and I get this video but dope video😂
I played the tfp game on my 2ds and I loved it
The ds games were my childhood the first one is so good it's my life
Loved the tf1 ps2 movie game
is the Behaviour Interactive that developed DotM for the DS the same guys that developed Dead by Daylight?
This was funny because I remember growing up having a transformers dis game I really liked, and turns out it’s by far the worst one lol. Oh well, now I want to try out some of the other, non dark of the moon ones
Haven’t started the video but nooo don’t come for my childhood these games were sooo good to me😔
Especially the animated one
I used to play the transformers prime game
Thank you for the retrospect ❤ I played 1 and 2 on Junior and they were too hard for me 😂
but have you tried transformers the dark spark 3ds
I have now! 3DS video this Friday :)
not liking dark of the moon is mad
I loved the DS transformers games and I still do
Personally I really enjoyed playing dark of the moon on ds more than xbox 360 tbh
Transformers autobots and deceptions, are the best ds transformers games out there for the ds.
I played all sparkwars. It was kinda crap. Im so glad that my cousin had an action replay I could use to unlock all the cars. Skyfire was the best.
I have 3 transformers games one on PS2 Nintendo Wii which also works on Wii u & on Nintendo switch
The 2007 DS games are awesome. Literally the only good transformers games aside from the 2 cybertron games and devastation
Sweet!
I’d Soon Like You To Take A Peek At The PSP Games Of Transformers Since I Heard Those Weren’t That Good.
I wonder if there are any 3ds tranformers games and will you review them too if they exist
For the 3DS there were only 3
-Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Stealth Force Edition (2011)
-Transformers Prime: The Game (2012)
-Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark (2014)
That was it,there was no 3DS game for Transformers: Devastation (2015)
@@BrickGames01Prime seems the same as its Wii counterpart, but what about the other games
@@LotsOfToubleUsuallySerious well for “DOTM - Stealth Force Edition” it’s basically a port of the Wii version of the same name & “Rise of the Dark Spark” is a strategy RPG developed by “WayForward Technology” (the developers behind the Shantae series)
I still have all of these....
Let me tell you the ds games for the first movie had a better story than their live action counterpart, crazy storytelling
The 3ds version of transformers prime was so much better
1 TFP 2 DotM 3 WfC
Nintendo DS is like PS1 of Nintendo
You don't think handheld games are inferior to the console versions?
Am i the only one who enjoyed dark of the moon ds game?
Did you go back to it? I replayed the first one lots of times, but not the ROTF and DOTM games.
@@nerotheyoung dotm ds game still aged well.
I enjoyed it more than RoTF. But still not as good as the 2007 games.
Tfp was good on the 3ds
Great ds
Mario 64 DS was better than the original
Weird? Are you god damn nuts only Legends played all of those back then same for many other nds games sure they weren't like a Console Version but still peak gaming also cod was insane for that time still is playing such things on the go was crazy same for psp had both ofc never had a vita or 3ds sadly i think it's time to get those aswell
I had subscribed
Their not weird, you’re weird
