For the past two years, I have been the proud owner of a Ford C-Max Energi, and I must say it has been one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned. The plug-in hybrid technology is truly impressive, offering a remarkable 38km of pure electric drive, which is perfect for navigating city streets. Since my typical drives around town range from 40 to 60km, I find that I can cover over 2000kms on a full tank of gas. Additionally, I make sure to charge it every time I return home, which only costs me around 50 cents. The car's quiet operation, smooth ride, and overall sturdy feel further enhance my driving experience. In conclusion, I can confidently say that I am absolutely in love with my C-Max.

i have 2013 Ford C-max hybrid SEL. its the first ford car i owned and i have to say, im impressed by it. great gas saving car. i drove my car 6 times cross country. Bought it at 42k miles and im currently at 238k miles. only major maintenance i had to get fix was my power steering assist since it is all electric. definitly expensive at the dealership. cost me 3100 dollar with parts & labor. you can get cheaper if you buy the part yourself and take it a mechanic outside the dealership for better price. its running like brand new and my goal is to see if i can drive this baby for another 200k. Maaaan that moonroof looks nice. sucks mines doesnt have it.

This was a fun car to drive. I ditched the Michelin Energi's and put on some Continental DWS06 rubber on and it traversed the twisted really well! I'll never forget flooring it to pass a long line of cars and hitting the speed limiter at 115 mph!!!!!! It raced up there like nothing due to the CVT locking it at peak output. What was disappointing was the gas mileage at 37 mpg avg with the Energy Plug In.

Makes a great "toad" when pulled behind a motor home because it can be towed with all wheels on the ground. We towed our 2013 SEL Hybrid from TN to AK and back with zero issues and are still towing it behind our new Super C. It's a great little hybrid. And yes, the brakes take some getting used to! One feature that's really cool is the graphical status screen that shows the car and depicts which power source is being utilized while driving. It will actually teach you how to drive more economically just by watching it. There is also a fun screen that depicts a bush with green leaves. The more economically you drive it, the more leaves the bush has. This is the wife's daily driver when not being towed, and It bugs her that I can always add leaves to the bush after she has been driving it for awhile! She tends to have a heavier foot than I do.

Questions for owner: does the backseat power outlet work without the engine turned on? I want to know if I can use it while car camping to power light or charge my laptop.
Also does the vent at the back actually blow air? My 2016 kia Forte has vents but close to nothing comes out from it, even at max power.
Lastly, can you use the video input freely? Meaning can I output videos for kids while driving?
Thanks on advance guys, I'm really looking forward to get this car.

    I bought a used 2013 CMax Hybrid SEL (No plug-In) in 2021.
So far it is only getting 29 to 33 MPG overall.
New plugs, New oil, New air filter, Good tires, Average miles.
The gas engine kicks in a lot more than I thought it would below 40 MPH and I don't push it hard to go or stop. Last owner bought it new and was a little old lady. It seems to be in great condition and I like the car and how it drives except for the way it brakes it takes getting used to and the MS Sync / radio system had to be rebooted by pulling a fuse as it had stopped working. She even wrote a note about this problem in the owners manual.
Any suggestions as to how I can get my MPG up ? I tried premium gas and fuel injector cleaner all ready with minimal results.
All in all I am content with MPG as my 2012 4x4 Jeep only averages around 12 to 14 MPG.

10:43 Luckily, Ford Hybrids are incredibly reliable. In their infancy, Ford Hybrids used many Toyota Patents. They learned how to make a good Hybrid early on. Ford Hybrids after 2013 are 100% Ford built, but still have the Toyota reliability. Ford does pump out some garbage, but their Hybrids are fantastic. Thousands of these C-Max and Fusion Hybrids out there with well over 200K of trouble free miles. In the Hybrid game, Ford and Toyota are the only two makers that have the issues completely ironed out. Honda's new Hybrid system should prove to be reliable too, but it's too early to tell. Honda's IMA was a joke.
