Me too! I could eat anything from Thailand and Philippines and never get sick, but when I eat something from Cambodia, I always get stomach problems. Oh yeah, my dad and I ate at that Shabu and Shabu Sushi buffet. The waitress thought we were Chinese lol.

They dont wash, they dont cut nails,, we were eating at lake side restaurant, over looking dead fish flooting. She grab and sell to the customer at are restaurant... they just care... people can die!!

Thanks for reminding me of 6 months in Phnom Penh establishing the US Embassy in 1970/1971. The city (and traffic) then was much different, but the Cambodian people haven't changed at all.

Good info as usual. Was there a month ago in PP and visited the mall even though they bore me the air con is good. Bought a box of crispy Crewe doughnuts for our tuk tuk driver as a surprise. Bought 2 really nice shirts in Russian markets. Loved our boutique hotel not far from palace. The staff were great, I loved the genuine kind young staff there. I'll be back...love from Sydney Australia

JoJo Mayerfan hi JoJo, the name of hotel in PP was Villa Silk Road, think 184 street and short walk say 15 mins from Palace n Riverside. Ask for Sam he is manager, yeah check it out as we were very happy there and would stay again, cheers

My kids love Aeon Mall, we don't do much shopping there, because it's expensive. They wanted $10 for that hat you tried on in the old markets you'd pay $3.00 maybe less. I'm a barang, but I get Khmer price, because I speak K'mai so they know you know what the bottom price really is. I usually still pay a little more, to help the shop keepers, because I also know how little money they are making.
First 2 minutes earned 2 thumbs up! 👍

The Aeon Mall was my saviour when I spent one month in Phnom Penh, I could buy lunch and have a coffee out of Costa. It's the best in Cambodia but is outgunned by Bangkok, so not the best in SE Asia. I stayed near Toul Sleng (S21) museum, which is worth a visit and shows the horrors of the Pol Pot regime. There is an upmarket area nearby with nice cafes and lots of posh cars ... Porsche, Audi, Range Rover, etc quite normal around this area. According to my taxi driver they are bought from the proceeds of corruption, which is endemic. Nice video.
My niece hangs out at Aeon all the time and yes, Bangkok is much more of a modern westernized metroplis.

I felt safer (and more free) in Cambodia then in Thailand and Vietnam during my visit over there. I also felt safer in Phnom Penh then in London or Paris for example.
Dont know why Cambodia has a bad rep when it comes to safety, was it so in the past? or is it just propaganda war over tourism?
Also, love youre videos from Cambodia, makes me wanna go back there again.
Inte Dinensak no violent crimes against tourists but theft happens, all my relatives told me to be careful with my camera in the city.
I guess theft happens in most big cities, I almost got mugged point blank in London.
But yeah I was warned aswell by Khmer people when I was filming in Phnom Penh.
I guess wherever there is some degree of poverty, snatching material stuff gonna happen.
Not saying it is right or defending it, but hey if i was broke and had no money or needed to get medicine or food for my kid, I might consider snatching some richer persons material stuff.
So wasnt saying that youre warning wasnt accurate.
Ment more in general, I many times heard people say how dangerous Cambodia is, and I didnt feel that way at all when visiting.
Well I understand alot of the Cambodian people are not happy with CPP and Hun Sen, infact everyone I talked to said they dont like him or they did not wanna talk about it.
I do like that Hun Sen is trying to keep US imperialism out of Cambodia, and closing down the Washington funded news paper aswell as disbanding the US infiltrated opposition party trying to get there puppet leaders to take control over Cambodia.
That I can defend.
But on the other hand, CPP and Hun Sen is allowing China and Vietnam to exploit Cambodia and its people, and they way the "Elite" of Cambodia is getting rich on expense of the nation and its people is horrible.
And what pissed me off the most during my time in Cambodia was the rich mofos driving around in Lexus cars thinking they own the road and are more importent then other people, while at the same time you see poor kids digging through the trash on the streets. That kind of inequality can not be defended ofc.
So there are 2 sides to this coin. And I guess none of them are really any good.
I really wish the best for the Cambodian people who gone through alot the last 50+ years.
The inequality, corruption and exploatation of the kingdom of wonders needs to come to an end, I dont know how. But replacing Chineese and Vietnameese puppets with US imperialists wont be a good solution in my opinion.

No, Aeon Sen Sok City Mall is the biggest mall in Cambodia. It's 3 times bigger than Aeon you're in.

Does Aeon Mall in Phnom Penh have a Saizeriya Italian restaurant? The Aeon mall in Suzhou, China does. It is an Italian-Japanese restaurant (Aeon is a Japanese company) with a very unique style. Just wondering...
I don't remember, but in most of PP, you can find almost any kind of cuisine. I ate at a Korean noodle spot near the airport.

i was disgusted by foreign bartering, just the absolute lowest low balls, think it was a ps2 vendors wanted 100usd and the guy was like 20, in my head at the time market price internationally was still 150-200. I felt so embarrassed
I bartered a fake pair of Dre headphones down to $20 and one of them broke the next day 🤣

Correction. I’ve been to all south East Asian countries. Philippines SM Mall of Asia and Ayala Greenbelt Mall are top of the line malls. Thailand has beautiful malls including Singapore
