QUITTING MY JOB

  • I'm 39 years old and I just quit my well paid IT job. It's my last day of work, I've left to pursue my own dreams instead of building someone else's. All my life I've had this drive to just do my own thing and I can't pursue it while I'm shackled to my cubicle. Is this a midlife crisis? Possibly, but I've never been more sure of anything in my life.

      admire your decision to quit pharmacy, im in a residency now and am tolerating it as a job, but the health care world is not for me in the long run. I'll become proficient at my job, treat patients well now, but i'm almost certain to pursue a government job or tech job in a number of years from now.

    wow inspiring man. I love photography but i dont have much confidence and am terrified doing weddings though I have done a wedding for a work colleague and then his cousins wedding. After that I realised that I was responsible for these peoples special moment and I went into a shell and declined to shoot weddings again lol. I tried to sound confident during shoots but i was a nervous wreck inside haha

    Good Un-work ! Freedom YEAH !
    Hey I just came across your channel, looking at all the Cambodia info. Yep I wish I spoke Thai as well, esp. after a week in a small Thai hospital in Essan. I have friends in Cambodia, one even speaks English ! I will be there next trip in a couple months.
    In re. to your great informative channel, it is so nice to see the real life, rural living with that 30-min fresh chicken - ha, and the bright spirits outside of city life. While I may spend a month or two in S.R. to possibly start a small business, my heart and soul thrive on quiet clean country lifestyle. I much enjoy the experiences you share, such as the ride and border crossing into Cambodia - insanity ! I think I'll fly in 555 !
    I have seen literally 1,000's of Asian videos, and usually suggest this ; in general not always, a vid 8- 12 mins long captures most vital info, and holds attention better. Not to indicate yours are too long, all enjoyed. Keep up the good UN-Work ! Peace

    Hi Savi, at last I saw the beginning of your new life. It looks like mine, albeit unrecorded, before I ended up back in the motherland in 1994 at the age of 50. Goodbye England!
    Thank you Savi for taking me down the memory lane.

    You only go through life once. Take risks, live on the edge and enjoy every minute of life. I recently retired from the New Mexico State Police. At 56 I noticed some think I am old. Wow. Where did the time go. I lived an adventurous life and doubt I could do it better if I could magically do it all over again. Well, there is one woman I would not have married, but other than that it was all good. Great videos and travel stuff. Very entertaining.

    Yes, MLC when it hits you it'll hit you hard you need to change the course your life was taking you...It's nice to be free at last! We are happy for your courage....I tried to do my many dreams as a child during my days off and vacation time but it's still limiting I guess I got attached to my work for I've been doing it for eons and eventually liked it , no, kinda have fallen in love with it --- akin to ancient matched marriage of marrying a total stranger but learning to love that person over the years :)

    Best way to retire early from a job is to save and invest. Once you have a lot of money set aside and bills paid off. Your open to take more business risks. You will never become rich and love life if your not meeting balance of life.

    This phase is call cubicle fever and you want to get out to see the world. After awhile you'll crave working meaningful schedules, time, and routine. Before I had my two kids, I was in the corporate world for 10 years and had to leave it behind to raise my kids. In the beginning, it was hard but now 15 years later I Wouldn't say I miss the cut throat corporate world. I have my own business and sleep and wake up as I please.

    • @saviyou
      @saviyou  6 років тому

      I don’t know what I will feel like in 5 or 10 or 15 years but I’m certain that If I ever go back to a 9-5, I do not want to be in a cubicle working in a corporate environment where I’m considered a company expense.

    Fuck it, this is happen right as I was about to quit my job. Haha I'm an IT as well. Been doing it for 3 years. Very easy job, just sit, play online game, and watching youtube everyday. But I am kind of get bored after doing it for 3 years. The problem how do I do quit and move on to something else like you??? Seriously, I love traveling sooooooooooooooooooo much but I just felt there is no money support my travel if I don't work. I was just in Cambodia last year. Next trip is going to be thailand. Seriously, I feel like living in prison even though the money is good hahaha.

    • @saviyou
      @saviyou  6 років тому +1

      I worked for 17 years in IT so I saved up some money. Currently I'm taking photos and making videos for money, but my wife is the main earner. But traveling solo is cheap if you do it right. Most of my recent airplane tickets have been paid for with points. I wouldn't suggest quitting unless you can live with family.
