Exactly, what happened to The Seven after Chapter 3? What happened with Oathbound in Chapter 4? The story fell and I'll miss Donald for it. If he were here still, Chapter 5 would totally be different in terms of the story. I wish we had something like that back. I don't even know what it is about anymore.
They are probably either going to make a build up with the hope and jonesy bs for chapter 6. Or they are starting to feel like most people dont pay attention into the storyline anymore which is obviously not true i mean look at the player count of every live event

I agree that ch2s7-ch3s2 was one of the best times in Fortnite. Personally, I must say that since Donald Mustard left the Story has fallen of magnificent. However, gameplay wise I prefer the game much more today especially chapter 5! But my top 2 chapters are chapter 2 & 5. Love them so much
They’re pushing Hope as the new main character for no reason. Even at the cost of sidelining characters we actually care about. Tony Stark literally SAVED REALITY in C2S4 and his grand reintroduction to the story is “hey, Tony’s back!” And instead of helping come up with a plan to beat Doom his whole role is to give her a bit of motivation. They better not kill off Jones permanently, and the Seven have to return. Also you are objectively wrong by saying C2S7-C3S2 was peak Fortnite. C1S3-5 was prime Fortnite and C2S2-4 was peak Fortnite.
I feel the storyline isn't too bad, it just doesn't directly try and engage anyone directly. Like live events aren't about story, but more so about setting up the next niche dialogue options to get a grasp on what's happening.
Imo instead of having 68 groups fighting for control have 2 of them create a deadly ass partnership and have Hope and Jones be the underdogs, maybe Doom and Megalo Don teamed up this season, kick Machinist out the Wastelanders, have her join Underground and have Hope and Jones be the cause of the said alliance’s collapse. I know this likely cannot happen but I think that would be the coolest way to go about it.
Imo the main issue with the story is that atm its in a bad spot because donald mustard left and charlie wen just came in but its irriatating that people expect the storyline to just go right back up after charlie comes in people need to understand its gonna take time plus charlie wen has even been at epic for a year and ever since the begining of chapter 5 sure the story was slow in season 1 but its been getting back to the pace it was slowly but surely and im all for it tbh :D also chapter 4 had no story because there was no cco so basically it was the story team just throwing in donalds ideas trying to make them work which was prob hard to do
Just some plotpoints you missed that i want to point out. 1. Valeria was already working to try find pandoras box before the event 2. In a final hope to defeat the underground, Zues used his lighting on Pandoras box which then caused a sandstorm and the wastelanders to appear. 3. Dr Doom was undercover working with Megalo Don as the Wanderer and double crossed him by exploding his pipeline so he could gain access to Pandoras box (Also to tie the entire thing together, im like 78% certain Chapter 5 is an alternate version of Chapter 2)
Just to add to my last little note, Here are some similarities between the chapters: Society = alt version of IO Pandoras Box = alt version of Zero Point Megalo Don = (this one could be wrong) Gunnar And finally Midas conveniently appearing in Season 2, a Marvel season in season 4 and knowledge of chapter 2 OG coming in November.
I also think the reason is having to make a new chapter each year, being realistic, I don’t see them doing full on events when they have to make new seasons and chapters each year.

My problem with the storyline recently is that nothing is followed up on and there are plot holes and inconsistencies. They introduce something and give it no conclusion. I understand why the IO and Seven storyline was rushed, that was fine for me. But the fact that the Seven destroyed the loop and freed everyone yet there's no explanation for why the loop still functions in BR? That bugs me. Then we got the Herald and the Nothing, and I thought "oooooo cool new villains! Last Reality returned!" No! They destroyed the island and that was it. Fracture was terrible. Chapter 4 was fun but the storyline was not good. I don't play storyline quests all the time, but the great thing about every chapter prior to Chapter 4 was that you didn't need to play them because the storyline was the focus. In Chapter 4, there was a storyline, but only in quests. They killed off the Seven, said nothing about the Foundation and AMIE disappeared through a portal forever, with no explanation as to what happened to her later. Triarch Nox was introduced in MEGA and was said to be part of the Last Reality, but that was the only season he was talked about in. He, Triarch Aurora and Era had a connection that was hinted at but this was never followed up on. Oh yeah, and the Nothing was teased in Chapter 4 Season 1 again but that was it. During Wilds, Alone came back and hinted at something bigger happening in the storyline, which was Kado Thorne. Donald Mustard teased the Order of the Waning Moon in a Chapter 3 Season 1 loading screen THIS WHOLE TIME. This was about to get interesting, but no! Thorne was killed off in a quest line. Jones used the time machine to go back to Chapter 1 but only him. Does that mean we played as Chapter 1 loopers? How did bits in the storyline suddenly change? Did we come back to being Chapter 5 loopers or did the big bang transport chapter 1 loopers to chapter 5? After all, the timeline was still intact, there are pictures of previous islands on the Chapter 5 map. I'm happy with the Chapter 5 storyline because it's finally consistent, it makes sense and we're getting mini live events, but why re-introduce Midas only for him to go away in a couple of weeks? I also don't mind moving on to different villains quickly because medallions and bosses are a core gameplay mechanic, I just don't like Epic introducing things and either giving us no ending or an underwhelming ending. The Seven's storyline was never properly finished and probably never will be and chances are, after this chapter, Pandora's Box and Hope will be erased from the storyline and a new storyline will start. Yeah I'm sorry for how long this was 😂

The storyline was what kept me playing the game besides the actual gameplay for years, and it’s one of the reasons why now I hardly even play the game. The new characters barely have any backstory or personality to them, mainly hope is who I’m referring to. I like her design, but that’s all I can really appreciate about her. She definitely has potential along with jones and the oracle, but I just don’t have a reason to care about them right now
Another thing, the writing in the story quests is not good at all imo. Like yeah the writing was never anything award worthy, but it was at least good and funny. Like The Scientist is to this day my favorite story character because imo he was really well written and actually made me want to do quests with him, same goes for the other seven members. But now we just get hope yapping every four seconds about how she doesn’t feel ready, then jones says something nice, then the oracle says she has everything she needs. Every week. Even Doom feels kinda generic tbh but he’s nowhere near as bad. The oracle was especially bad in season 2 because none of her jokes landed and it was just some crap about Zeus or whatever. Saying that doom feels generic is criminal, we've only gotten two voice lines from him and both build him up as an incredibly intimidating villain, due to both the writing and voice acting. As for the oracle I actually find her pretty funny and the banter with her and Jones, just try and be more open to other characters because they are well written.
To me I feel like the original storyline ended with the Big Bang. Since then there has been NO mention of the zero point and hope is the new main character. It feels like a new game entirely.
I really like the game's story and I agree that it got worse over time. Chapter 4 was the lowest point for the story but now in chapter 5 things have improved a lot. Hope's story is very well done.
One thing I love is how drift was important for one season then dropped and afterward put a hint that could be more and never did anything with it like hes still a real life person and has importance to the point that his mask is a tracker clearly there is something more to him then it seems but im also have a strong bias but he at the very least had potential I really wouldve like to see him do something with the lightning he has too and catalyst exists too and even helps drift chase the hunter and they never capitalized off the enforcers they also just kinda disappeared like they never existed
As someone who has played since chapter 1, which apparently puts me above everyone else lmao, the old story was ass. People were so blinded by the cinematics, which were amazing, that they forgot that the story just... wasn't good.

Exactly. I still haven't beaten the "Eliminate 5 players with War Machine's Arsenal" quest (I've been playing for a little less than a month) because people are railing me with the Iron Man combat kit and Doom Gauntlets.

0:45 short answer why it came to a holt is that was the true ending of the story line in my opinion. Kinda Long answer: the whole story was about how the I.O controlled everyone and had everyone trapped in a Loop but the seven battle with the I.O for years until it reached the Climax of the final battle in chapter 3 season 2 where it ended in the Sevens victory. In my opinion it was the end of the sorry and that the seven then started teleporting everyone back to there respected realities.

pretty sure by "reboot" they meant that the only old character remaining was Jones Midas and the crew didnt have a direct link to the story this chapter other than an appearance
the fact is fracture event was supposed to happen in chapter 3 season finale event, thats why it was so rushed and lack of effort. because it was supposed to happen in season 8 but they cut it short to 4 seasons. it was also an teaser event for the metaverse plan. and their was also work in progress leaked that was in the making for season 8.
I agree with your Opinion and hear me out. The Storyline we're currently having Isn't necesseraly bad. It's just that every Story is too rushed because Epic is unfortunately not focusing so much in BR anymore and More in the New Metaverse ( AKA the Reason Donald Mustard, the creator of the Storyline back in CH3, CH2 & CH1 retired. ) Now, this Storyline compared to Chapter 4's which was almost if Not Completely non-existant, Is Way better. But compared to Chapter 3's, 2's and 1's, Is An Absolute Downfall.
Chapter 5 is still one of the more consistent storylines in the long run. There was a lot of build and and stuff. The hand didnt just emerge, valeria studied it which u saw on loading screens and her stuff being located outside, she wanted to open it for god knows why. This in turn brought the greek gods here, with zeus being furious that valeria opened the box, and in turn taking down most of the society or forcing them into hiding (loading screen of zeus fighting oscar, nisha and montague). Basicially Zeus brought part of their main location aka olympus to the island to properly deal with the people there since pandoras box is a major threat to everyone (mythologically) However with the Help of some of the gods not wanting to go the route zeus wants to go since he's rather temperamental (This is actually mythologically accurate too, there are multiple points in greek mythology where gods even support other sides in wars or don't directly abide certain orders, like in the war for Troja, where different gods supported different sides and even clashed sometimes iirc) they took down Zeus, or well not took him down but forced him to leave the Island again, in doing so they angered Zeus even more so he used some of his last energy to strike the box again to make part of its energy escape, creating nitro and the sandstorm, attracting the wastelanders to the island for more of that nitro especially because Megalo Don found that he could use it to survive. Essentially the whole Pipeline shit was set up by Doom from the beginning. He wanted to use Megalo Don early on and devised that plan that would reveal the box again before he made himself known. Pretty early into the storyline quests megalo don talks abt his "wise friend" which is the Wanderer. Once dooms plan got set into action he got rid of Megalo Don, used the box but had to ultimately leave the island to forge armor that can hold this power. (Voicelines) He left his doombot behind to take care of stuff, guards at a lot of places, emma and mysterio to basicially well take care of important things. Emma got put in charge of the Prison and mysterio of doomstadt, as well as kind of keeping the people quiet trough his hallucinations. We could see multiple npcs and all being brainwashed, as well as hope and Jonesy feeling that effect, realising that they quickly worked together to take Mysterio down, somewhere around that shuri arrived as well as to support the plan to rift away dooms castle all together once he comes back, with her and Iron mans help they began constructing big rift beacons , like the ones that brought stark industries to the island before. When they then tried to take down emma to eliminate dooms last subordinates they got the signal that doom is already coming back, way earlier than they planned, causing hope to panic and also them to have to put their plan into action, which failed because doom protected the doom forge and came back in his full form, destroying all but 1 rift beacon fully. Shuri managed to salvage it and 5 million loopers worked together over some time to weaken doom enough to enable the rift beacon to actually take him away from the island. With doom away the doom forge isnt stopped or supervised by doom anymore, meaning mephisto he held in place there to at some point duel him to free his mother could just freely walk the island leading us into fortnitemares. The doomforge was just a way to keep mephisto in check as well as summon him. (Theres statues of dooms mother, in a doom story quest you have to bow before one. The storyline of chapter 5 is a lot more elaborate and well put together than you tried to make it seem here. I feel like some ppl just dislike chapter 5 for all the new stuff cuz adapting is hard lol. Apart from that theres tons of small dialogue troughout the season, some having voicelines too like in season 2 everytime you interact with the oracle, which you could just do randomly. Apart from that they implemented these mini live events to make it feel less empty, they said there will only be major events at the end of a chapter, and we didnt get one for chapter 4 because of og having the big bang event right after (which I personally think sucked) Apart from that chapter 4 had NOTHING, not even mini events, just straight up nothing and didn't even get a proper end. And still ppl complain abt mini events lmao. Regardless of that have a nice day 👍
I think chapter 5 is signaling good signs for the future of Fortnite's storyline, and I hope they get the pacing down because I do agree that some of these events happen too quickly. I think it would be cool if some of the collabs of each season played a role in their respective storyline

In other words: Tim Sweeney is why. Sweeney wanted the vision of an “omniverse” while Mustard prefers the island as the star of Fortnite. It could also explain why Chapter 3 was cut in half and why Chapter 4 slowly trickled in the omniverse and introduce new modes in Chapter 5.

I have to say I really disagree. The lore this season has felt more connected, you just don’t care as much about it. The society, Valeria and the Greek Gods weren’t disconnected. The Society are descended from the Greek Gods, and Valeria’s whole goal was to use the society to open Pandora’s box. When Valeria opened the box, Doom picked up on the power and decided to use the Wastelanders to cause chaos throughout the island to make it easier for him to take control. There’s a connected story here, you just gotta pay attention.

Idk man,Chapter 5 season 4 story feels like an downgraded version of infinity war. First of all,Hope is so fucking annoying. She has a mentality of "I can't,I can't,I can't". Then,the Oracle. We never heard of her before,now she said "Hope is basically our hope" And somehow we listen to her and follow a fucking kid. Captain Jonesy Should not be a Main charter as he is just Captain America from TEMU. Plus,the Quests from The story are honestly a pain in the ass.Gwenpool not only has awful quests,but NEVER played a main role in the story. This is the worst story i have ever seen.
What I really don’t like in this chapter’s story is, how they butchered Jones as a character. Back then, he was the guy who would fight the Last Reality and the IO and now, he’s just the nostalgia character, who just constantly references how much of a badass he used to be „back in the good 'ol days“
You do know that Donald left in chapter 3 right? There was no creative head until last September and Charlie didn’t have a ton of time to write chapter 5 that’s why the last season is the best so far because it’s had more time to be developed

You know what? Fortnite fell victim to what eventually happens to all long running stories. The creation of a shitty time travel plot. Marvel did it. Look at them. CW Flash did it like 6+ different times. And it’s hella hated. the DCEU did it and they’re worse than marvel. Can’t name all of them but you get the point. It’s hella overused and the time travel isn’t even explained in Fortnite’s story. Kado just happened to be a vampire time traveler and that’s it. No explanation.

Exactly, what happened to The Seven after Chapter 3? What happened with Oathbound in Chapter 4? The story fell and I'll miss Donald for it. If he were here still, Chapter 5 would totally be different in terms of the story. I wish we had something like that back. I don't even know what it is about anymore.

I agree that ch2s7-ch3s2 was one of the best times in Fortnite. Personally, I must say that since Donald Mustard left the Story has fallen of magnificent. However, gameplay wise I prefer the game much more today especially chapter 5! But my top 2 chapters are chapter 2 & 5. Love them so much

They’re pushing Hope as the new main character for no reason. Even at the cost of sidelining characters we actually care about. Tony Stark literally SAVED REALITY in C2S4 and his grand reintroduction to the story is “hey, Tony’s back!” And instead of helping come up with a plan to beat Doom his whole role is to give her a bit of motivation. They better not kill off Jones permanently, and the Seven have to return.
Also you are objectively wrong by saying C2S7-C3S2 was peak Fortnite. C1S3-5 was prime Fortnite and C2S2-4 was peak Fortnite.

I feel the storyline isn't too bad, it just doesn't directly try and engage anyone directly. Like live events aren't about story, but more so about setting up the next niche dialogue options to get a grasp on what's happening.
Imo instead of having 68 groups fighting for control have 2 of them create a deadly ass partnership and have Hope and Jones be the underdogs, maybe Doom and Megalo Don teamed up this season, kick Machinist out the Wastelanders, have her join Underground and have Hope and Jones be the cause of the said alliance’s collapse. I know this likely cannot happen but I think that would be the coolest way to go about it.

Imo the main issue with the story is that atm its in a bad spot because donald mustard left and charlie wen just came in but its irriatating that people expect the storyline to just go right back up after charlie comes in people need to understand its gonna take time plus charlie wen has even been at epic for a year and ever since the begining of chapter 5 sure the story was slow in season 1 but its been getting back to the pace it was slowly but surely and im all for it tbh :D also chapter 4 had no story because there was no cco so basically it was the story team just throwing in donalds ideas trying to make them work which was prob hard to do
Just some plotpoints you missed that i want to point out.
1. Valeria was already working to try find pandoras box before the event
2. In a final hope to defeat the underground, Zues used his lighting on Pandoras box which then caused a sandstorm and the wastelanders to appear.
3. Dr Doom was undercover working with Megalo Don as the Wanderer and double crossed him by exploding his pipeline so he could gain access to Pandoras box
(Also to tie the entire thing together, im like 78% certain Chapter 5 is an alternate version of Chapter 2)
Just to add to my last little note,
Here are some similarities between the chapters:
Society = alt version of IO
Pandoras Box = alt version of Zero Point
Megalo Don = (this one could be wrong) Gunnar
And finally Midas conveniently appearing in Season 2, a Marvel season in season 4 and knowledge of chapter 2 OG coming in November.

My problem with the storyline recently is that nothing is followed up on and there are plot holes and inconsistencies. They introduce something and give it no conclusion. I understand why the IO and Seven storyline was rushed, that was fine for me. But the fact that the Seven destroyed the loop and freed everyone yet there's no explanation for why the loop still functions in BR? That bugs me. Then we got the Herald and the Nothing, and I thought "oooooo cool new villains! Last Reality returned!" No! They destroyed the island and that was it. Fracture was terrible. Chapter 4 was fun but the storyline was not good. I don't play storyline quests all the time, but the great thing about every chapter prior to Chapter 4 was that you didn't need to play them because the storyline was the focus. In Chapter 4, there was a storyline, but only in quests. They killed off the Seven, said nothing about the Foundation and AMIE disappeared through a portal forever, with no explanation as to what happened to her later. Triarch Nox was introduced in MEGA and was said to be part of the Last Reality, but that was the only season he was talked about in. He, Triarch Aurora and Era had a connection that was hinted at but this was never followed up on. Oh yeah, and the Nothing was teased in Chapter 4 Season 1 again but that was it. During Wilds, Alone came back and hinted at something bigger happening in the storyline, which was Kado Thorne. Donald Mustard teased the Order of the Waning Moon in a Chapter 3 Season 1 loading screen THIS WHOLE TIME. This was about to get interesting, but no! Thorne was killed off in a quest line. Jones used the time machine to go back to Chapter 1 but only him. Does that mean we played as Chapter 1 loopers? How did bits in the storyline suddenly change? Did we come back to being Chapter 5 loopers or did the big bang transport chapter 1 loopers to chapter 5? After all, the timeline was still intact, there are pictures of previous islands on the Chapter 5 map. I'm happy with the Chapter 5 storyline because it's finally consistent, it makes sense and we're getting mini live events, but why re-introduce Midas only for him to go away in a couple of weeks? I also don't mind moving on to different villains quickly because medallions and bosses are a core gameplay mechanic, I just don't like Epic introducing things and either giving us no ending or an underwhelming ending. The Seven's storyline was never properly finished and probably never will be and chances are, after this chapter, Pandora's Box and Hope will be erased from the storyline and a new storyline will start. Yeah I'm sorry for how long this was 😂
And geno was teased in the comics of coming back and that ended as soon as it started and I liked the storyline at the beginning of chapter 4 season 1 because I wanted AMIE to save the seven so we could see them again but then threw that storyline out the window and like yeah what happened to the nothing I wanted to see more on that storyline but that also got thrown out the window!

The storyline was what kept me playing the game besides the actual gameplay for years, and it’s one of the reasons why now I hardly even play the game. The new characters barely have any backstory or personality to them, mainly hope is who I’m referring to. I like her design, but that’s all I can really appreciate about her. She definitely has potential along with jones and the oracle, but I just don’t have a reason to care about them right now
Another thing, the writing in the story quests is not good at all imo. Like yeah the writing was never anything award worthy, but it was at least good and funny. Like The Scientist is to this day my favorite story character because imo he was really well written and actually made me want to do quests with him, same goes for the other seven members. But now we just get hope yapping every four seconds about how she doesn’t feel ready, then jones says something nice, then the oracle says she has everything she needs. Every week. Even Doom feels kinda generic tbh but he’s nowhere near as bad. The oracle was especially bad in season 2 because none of her jokes landed and it was just some crap about Zeus or whatever. Anyway essay over thanks for reading.
Saying that doom feels generic is criminal, we've only gotten two voice lines from him and both build him up as an incredibly intimidating villain, due to both the writing and voice acting. As for the oracle I actually find her pretty funny and the banter with her and Jones, just try and be more open to other characters because they are well written.
Actually the story was at it's peak when Fortnite was about STW.
To me I feel like the original storyline ended with the Big Bang. Since then there has been NO mention of the zero point and hope is the new main character. It feels like a new game entirely.
I really like the game's story and I agree that it got worse over time. Chapter 4 was the lowest point for the story but now in chapter 5 things have improved a lot. Hope's story is very well done.

One thing I love is how drift was important for one season then dropped and afterward put a hint that could be more and never did anything with it like hes still a real life person and has importance to the point that his mask is a tracker clearly there is something more to him then it seems but im also have a strong bias but he at the very least had potential I really wouldve like to see him do something with the lightning he has too and catalyst exists too and even helps drift chase the hunter and they never capitalized off the enforcers they also just kinda disappeared like they never existed

As someone who has played since chapter 1, which apparently puts me above everyone else lmao, the old story was ass. People were so blinded by the cinematics, which were amazing, that they forgot that the story just... wasn't good.

1 - rushed
2 - the cartoon funny game is becoming a triple A game metaverse

5 - the Greek thing is making me feel it’s just gonna be god of war but Fortnite
6 - again having a realistic map doesn’t feel like Fortnite

My thing is if they want a story mode they should seperate it from BR. Literally i have yet to defeat mysterio to finish the story quest because even when I land there at the match start some other player has already got there and killed him for his medallion and it’s freaking irritating as hell
Exactly. I still haven't beaten the "Eliminate 5 players with War Machine's Arsenal" quest (I've been playing for a little less than a month) because people are railing me with the Iron Man combat kit and Doom Gauntlets.

Kinda Long answer: the whole story was about how the I.O controlled everyone and had everyone trapped in a Loop but the seven battle with the I.O for years until it reached the Climax of the final battle in chapter 3 season 2 where it ended in the Sevens victory. In my opinion it was the end of the sorry and that the seven then started teleporting everyone back to there respected realities.

THERE IS NO REBOOT Midas and his crew proved it there’s more evidence to prove it’s the same timeline then to prove it’s a reboot
pretty sure by "reboot" they meant that the only old character remaining was Jones
Midas and the crew didnt have a direct link to the story this chapter other than an appearance

I agree with your Opinion and hear me out. The Storyline we're currently having Isn't necesseraly bad. It's just that every Story is too rushed because Epic is unfortunately not focusing so much in BR anymore and More in the New Metaverse ( AKA the Reason Donald Mustard, the creator of the Storyline back in CH3, CH2 & CH1 retired. ) Now, this Storyline compared to Chapter 4's which was almost if Not Completely non-existant, Is Way better. But compared to Chapter 3's, 2's and 1's, Is An Absolute Downfall.
Chapter 5 is still one of the more consistent storylines in the long run.
There was a lot of build and and stuff.
The hand didnt just emerge, valeria studied it which u saw on loading screens and her stuff being located outside, she wanted to open it for god knows why.
This in turn brought the greek gods here, with zeus being furious that valeria opened the box, and in turn taking down most of the society or forcing them into hiding (loading screen of zeus fighting oscar, nisha and montague).
Basicially Zeus brought part of their main location aka olympus to the island to properly deal with the people there since pandoras box is a major threat to everyone (mythologically)
However with the Help of some of the gods not wanting to go the route zeus wants to go since he's rather temperamental (This is actually mythologically accurate too, there are multiple points in greek mythology where gods even support other sides in wars or don't directly abide certain orders, like in the war for Troja, where different gods supported different sides and even clashed sometimes iirc) they took down Zeus, or well not took him down but forced him to leave the Island again, in doing so they angered Zeus even more so he used some of his last energy to strike the box again to make part of its energy escape, creating nitro and the sandstorm, attracting the wastelanders to the island for more of that nitro especially because Megalo Don found that he could use it to survive.
Essentially the whole Pipeline shit was set up by Doom from the beginning.
He wanted to use Megalo Don early on and devised that plan that would reveal the box again before he made himself known.
Pretty early into the storyline quests megalo don talks abt his "wise friend" which is the Wanderer.
Once dooms plan got set into action he got rid of Megalo Don, used the box but had to ultimately leave the island to forge armor that can hold this power. (Voicelines)
He left his doombot behind to take care of stuff, guards at a lot of places, emma and mysterio to basicially well take care of important things.
Emma got put in charge of the Prison and mysterio of doomstadt, as well as kind of keeping the people quiet trough his hallucinations. We could see multiple npcs and all being brainwashed, as well as hope and Jonesy feeling that effect, realising that they quickly worked together to take Mysterio down, somewhere around that shuri arrived as well as to support the plan to rift away dooms castle all together once he comes back, with her and Iron mans help they began constructing big rift beacons , like the ones that brought stark industries to the island before.
When they then tried to take down emma to eliminate dooms last subordinates they got the signal that doom is already coming back, way earlier than they planned, causing hope to panic and also them to have to put their plan into action, which failed because doom protected the doom forge and came back in his full form, destroying all but 1 rift beacon fully.
Shuri managed to salvage it and 5 million loopers worked together over some time to weaken doom enough to enable the rift beacon to actually take him away from the island.
With doom away the doom forge isnt stopped or supervised by doom anymore, meaning mephisto he held in place there to at some point duel him to free his mother could just freely walk the island leading us into fortnitemares.
The doomforge was just a way to keep mephisto in check as well as summon him. (Theres statues of dooms mother, in a doom story quest you have to bow before one.
The storyline of chapter 5 is a lot more elaborate and well put together than you tried to make it seem here.
I feel like some ppl just dislike chapter 5 for all the new stuff cuz adapting is hard lol.
Apart from that theres tons of small dialogue troughout the season, some having voicelines too like in season 2 everytime you interact with the oracle, which you could just do randomly.
Apart from that they implemented these mini live events to make it feel less empty, they said there will only be major events at the end of a chapter, and we didnt get one for chapter 4 because of og having the big bang event right after (which I personally think sucked)
Apart from that chapter 4 had NOTHING, not even mini events, just straight up nothing and didn't even get a proper end.
And still ppl complain abt mini events lmao.

I think chapter 5 is signaling good signs for the future of Fortnite's storyline, and I hope they get the pacing down because I do agree that some of these events happen too quickly. I think it would be cool if some of the collabs of each season played a role in their respective storyline

Sweeney wanted the vision of an “omniverse” while Mustard prefers the island as the star of Fortnite. It could also explain why Chapter 3 was cut in half and why Chapter 4 slowly trickled in the omniverse and introduce new modes in Chapter 5.

I have to say I really disagree. The lore this season has felt more connected, you just don’t care as much about it. The society, Valeria and the Greek Gods weren’t disconnected. The Society are descended from the Greek Gods, and Valeria’s whole goal was to use the society to open Pandora’s box. When Valeria opened the box, Doom picked up on the power and decided to use the Wastelanders to cause chaos throughout the island to make it easier for him to take control. There’s a connected story here, you just gotta pay attention.

Idk man,Chapter 5 season 4 story feels like an downgraded version of infinity war. First of all,Hope is so fucking annoying. She has a mentality of "I can't,I can't,I can't". Then,the Oracle. We never heard of her before,now she said "Hope is basically our hope" And somehow we listen to her and follow a fucking kid. Captain Jonesy Should not be a Main charter as he is just Captain America from TEMU. Plus,the Quests from The story are honestly a pain in the ass.Gwenpool not only has awful quests,but NEVER played a main role in the story. This is the worst story i have ever seen.

What I really don’t like in this chapter’s story is, how they butchered Jones as a character. Back then, he was the guy who would fight the Last Reality and the IO and now, he’s just the nostalgia character, who just constantly references how much of a badass he used to be „back in the good 'ol days“

I think after Ch3 S2, S4 would be The Herald watching and taking done the Herald. Then, Ch4 S1 would Ageless to take over the island as a new ruler but failed. Idk about Ch4 S2 (didn't play) and S3 would be Slone taking over the island undercover through the wilds season. They failed, and I think it's obvious after that
Don't Know if Charlie Wen wants to do a live event and if something happens I will not be surprised if Tim still gazes up on the metaverse and now I'm thinking of it I don't know if there's going to be a lot of it at the end of season 4 it probably it probably won't happen but we'll see though

Tbh I have to give the newer storyline some grace atleast they keep some story beats from the past seasons and they carry the next unlike chapter 3

Fortnite has been trying so many new things whether it be the other modes like Festival which I've personally really enjoyed or even lego which is starting to shape up to become something actually pretty good. Even on the battle royale side regardless on your feelings about wrecked you can't say that fortnite wasn't giving us anything new around that time as there was so much content on just day one. Just because fortnite is a massive advertising platform it doesn't mean that they don't give us original ideas or try to give us something fun.
I think chapter 2 in general was peak Fortnite! The only bad two seasons was 5 and 6 and even if they were bad they weren’t the worst seasons in Fortnite! I mean chapter 4 season 3 exists

This vid has me realizing that Ch2 S8 was a lot better than I gave it credit for. Though I feel like the battlepass was still bad cause it had like 4 joke skins and half of the characters had nothing to do with the season.

Also to be fair you also did gloss over detail in the story of chapter 5 which fair enough unless your very diligent most players won’t notice doc doom befriending megalodon then betraying him or that Zeus bring the bad guy trying to kill all humans is kinda in character for him in most mythology (it not the best plot line but it still works ok)
