I really appreciate all the support from yall, I was very nervous making this video and contemplating on posting it, love you all ❤ Edit: If yall could give me some more content ideas I would greatly appreciate it! USE CODE "TRICKYS"
OG Fortnite gave this certain feeling that hasn't been replicated by anything since. It's almost like a fever dream or perhaps a forgone different timeline.
It was almost eerie at first, but also warm and calming. There weren’t fully filled out matches with a bunch of fast gameplay and weapons. You looted and waited to see other players. At the most you went to salty springs and if you survived it’d be a minute before you saw anyone else.
The thing with fortnite was that it was honestly scary. You would run around scared that if you got shot once, it was all over for you. The battles were super intense, and your heart would beat out of your chest like you were in a real battlefield.
That's really why the game seemed so difficult at first. You'd be walking alone in a field and a few minutes later, someone would shoot at you and you'd be scared...
it tried following pubgs route before completely going its own thing(I was playing when it started, out of high school yes I was there from the beginning and played both pubg and og fortnite) (still play pubg tho) Fortnite is toooooo sweaty for me now, I still play it, but don’t take it seriously like I’m trying to go pro like majority of everyone on their lmao but hey I guess that’s what happens when you host 1 million - 2 million dollar events the skins are cool though
the graphics were so unique and beautiful, the sky had so much personality, the sun and moons effect on the atmosphere, and the sound design and ambience made the game truly unique
Epic just dont realize how good their old game was without all the weird stuff they added just the old style of the original beautiful fortnite i miss it so much
True , now its just full of stupid content , cheaters , bugs and its just boring tbh. I'm just playing reload now just to get the old vibes , but its still not it. Waiting for new OG season now!
We made the game how it is today we used to complain how there weren’t adding anything new or fun to the game and when they did add stuff we complained more I hate when people try to blame it on epic like they weren’t doing what people were asking for at the time
This game turned from a simple loveable battle royale with people in dinosaur costumes fighting gingerbread people with guns, To chaos I can't keep track of anymore.
It’s fuckin chaotic which I don’t mind until it effects your gameplay and cheats you I can give u a mouthful better yet TikToker that play it can tell you a grocery and laundry list and let’s not get started on the same recycled garbage the item shop gives every other day and so on and so on
Man I hate to admit but Fortnite at the beginning was a core memory for me. Watching this and reliving it all in my head still makes me insanely happy. Those were the days
I remember waking up before school on the day season 7 came out and at one point I was sliding above Greasy Grove and just looking at everything and up in the sky at Polar Peak, stuff like that, and there was even a plane or 2 up there just flying around.
I started this game one week after release when my daughter was around a year old and she would wake me up through the night. Downloaded it through boredom. Now she’s 8 years old and plays with me. Crazy to look back on.
OG Fortnite was "perfect" to me because it (BR) was more simple, had a less congested loot pool, significantly fewer 'busted' weapons/items, not overly congested with collabs. Even STW actually got updates and was fun before the ventures came out. Now it just seems like they want you to start from 0 again, which isn't that fun anymore. Overall the game's just become more complicated and congested.
As much as I agree with you in that the lootpool was significantly less full of broken items, I have always preferred chapter 2 season 1's loot. I say this because of the fact that EVERY SINGLE THING, had a place in the sandbox. Like Halo for example. Now it's full of op af ability pickups, some have cool downs, some have limited use, some have both. Hell, even the exotic weapons are just reused assets with stupid, often useless, gimmicks attached. And most of them are literally just worse than a blue gun...
Idk why they didn't add some STW guns. I know the Zapatron was a bit overpowered, but honestly, if you put in the Zapatron today, I don't even think it would be that good with the charge-up time. I feel something like the super shredder would be loved by pros with lower damage but a much longer range and tighter spread. The angering part is they could do this easily. Just import designs and tweak a few numbers to make them not as overpowered.
It's just crazy how seeing this beautiful time of the game gives me so many feelings. Mostly nostalgia and I just wanna go back to those days. Getting home from school turning on the PS4 and grinding the crap out of this game with your friends.
7:34 Dota 2 was the first game to introduce a battle pass system, Fortnite was the first to implement it in a battle royal and that was what popularized it
The only reason I can't hate on Fortnite nowadays is because the impact the old game had on my life and other people's lives was massive, it's just insanely affiliated to good memories, happiness and innocence. Now it feels like the game got older with the community, and it grew up and changed, to something we'll never experience again, and I can say that I'm proud to have lived that Fortnite era which easily made my life easier and more beautiful at that time. This video is just great, for a little channel there's nothing that annoyed me, the commentary just felt professionnal.
i think you growing up has the biggest impact. i promise you kids today feel the say playing like you did, you just probably have other priorities etc today
You mentioning the silence reminds me why I found og Fortnite so relaxing. There were also less people trying to win and more people just goofing around and what not. Some tried to win, but you could build a sky base or camp it out to just watch others go at it and it was fun.
I love the simple and classic Fortnite, stuff like Ch1 S1-4 and Ch2 S1-2, when the map is just basic grasslands and forests, there’s a simple loot pool, and the whole game feels really grounded but also unique. I’m not saying the really crazy and over the top Fortnite is bad, I just love those early seasons from the first 2 chapters. It felt like back in the day, people were playing for wins rather than playing for kills, so you’d get people actively avoiding fights, and you don’t really get that anymore. And I don’t mean that people would camp, but it really felt like a free for all where people actually wanted to come out alive rather than a killing simulator.
okay that is true, people now kinda throw themselves once they see an enemy despite the fact that they know they will die right after getting their kill
Yeah last time e had that feeling and gameplay was in Chapter 3 Season 1 everything else was chaotic i cant wait for fortnite OG i hope they bring old graphics and movement.
20:40 the reason og Fortnite was considered “perfect” was because of its imperfections. All the glitches and broken guns made the game unpredictable, and there was no complaining from the player base. Once everyone tried being the best, they started caring about how the game ran and how ‘playable’ the game was.
I usually never comment on any videos but this got randomly recommended to me and I don't regret watching a single second of your video. Thanks for summing up the personally, greatest time of fortnite.
we really do need another game like early fortnite. everything has become so stale and toxic in gaming, entertainment, and beyond, and we can't just keep going on like this
You gotta remember that we were all very young, little to no responsibility and the world wasn't on the edge of ending. Nothing is really new to us, it is to those kids who now are as old as us when we started playing, but yet I know things are truly different nowadays, things are more expensive, more complex and etc, I miss playing OG Fortnite
there was something special with this games graphics back then. the old night sky and the old sunset was just so good to look at. Honestly even the chapter 5 sunset was good too but doesnt look like that anymore
I wouldn’t say the game is super hated now. It’s still one of if not the most popular games on the market. And it’s still a game I am in love with. I grew up playing Halo 3, Halo Reach, and Halo 4 as a kid as well as some MW and Blackops. Some people do like to say Fortnite is for kids but I know several people who are college age like myself who play this game pretty religiously. Fortnite is a special game and as someone who was a kid in the 2000s when all the big “legacy” games were out on Xbox360 and PS3 I’d still rank Fortnite up there among them as my personal favorites of all time
Man OG fortnite gave this certain feeling that just made you feel good no matter how many times you died you still wanted to play it over and over and over
I didn't play during season 0, but I can tell you that I had these same feelings when I first played the game. Jumping from the bus for the first time, all of that first game was amazing, and I haven't gotten that feeling back sense.
What made it so perfect is so much here’s my list: -movement, no strange uncomfortable camera angles, no tactical sprint, etc -graphics, no insane graphics just basic simple stuff -simplicity, no medallions, no bounties, no High tech weapons Everything was just so much better and I miss it
This makes me want to cry, it maybe crigne or something but OG fortnite was my childhood. I remember i was 6 years old or something and showing my brother the new game i found on the playstation store. i loaded up and landed in loot lake. It was season 1 some days later season 2 dropped. Me and my brother begged our mom to get the new battle pass. We were so excited, then next thing I remember i was watching my brother in endgame he sat in a bush had his pickaxe equiped only one person was left. He equiped is rocket launcher and shot it at the ground. We have won. This was such an amazing experience. I miss OG fortnite. Last year when OG remix dropped i had the time of my life with my friends. Eventough it wasnt the same. It was just so nostalgic.
Man this game was truly a masterpiece, definitely on my top 3 games of all time. Thanks for doing such a good job of documenting it, I actually shed a couple tears looking at the season 2 content. 🙌
November 25th 2017 was when I joined. I got the game for my birthday only to learn it was free. The aesthetic, the skins, the unique items, playing with friends from school, my life was perfect during that time. I miss it, but at least I can play Reload
Merry Marauder was my first skin. Got him on update day. My mains are Burnout, Rust Lord, Jellie, and a few others. It's so surreal comparing Chapter 5 to Chapter 1. They both feel like totally different games and I'm fine with that, but I miss the OG aesthetic so much
Honestly the fact that Fortnite has been around so long and stayed as fresh as it has is a testament to its greatness. Constant ground changing additions like creative mode have continued to push the industry. I think if Fortnite remained the same as it was it would've been dead a long time ago.
This is the kind of video I’ll be showing to my children or a significant other 10 years from now while talking about how this game shaped a huge part of my childhood. Absolutely incredible video.
I do remember when the game came out back then. I was totally a noob in it, but i smelt the freshness, the new oopportunity to play with friends besides minecraft and the other games i had. So I played it continuously during the fall of 2017, until the end of the 2010's. It was an amazing era. It's been 7 years now. I've grown up. I left the game for years now. Now it's just a nice childhood memory. Still can't believe it was almost 10 years ago. Thank You, Fortnite.
Late 2017 was a great time that i look back on fondly. None of my friends told me about Fortnite, but I saw people on my friends list playing so I thought I would at least try it out and I was hooked. I remember coming home from school and getting on to see the Christmas update and it was amazing. I didn’t even take a break from this game until season 8. There would be days where i was waiting to come from school to see if there was a new update or ltm (high explosives with the guided missile was the best) while this game will never be the same it was fun while it lasted.
Here's my reasoning for why OG Fortnite was amazing, and will flourish: Simplicity The buildings are easier to navigate in, you can NOT get killed by an annoying angle. There are simply 4 angles you can get killed from in Salty Springs: above, left, right, under. If you land in the Raft, due to the openness of the location, you can get killed from atleast 8-16 angles. Think about it, land in game and consider all the angles you can get shot from. Currently, this is extremely frustrating: you can get shot from extremely annoying angles. Now I started playing when I was 18, so basically it meant that I didn't had too much time to practice, neither do I want to play 8 hours against enemies that already played 8 hours and died in these angles. Diversity The guns were diverse, yet easy to remember. It took about 5 minutes to understand the entirety of the lootpool, yet the guns were always innovative. Quick In comparison to what we have now a days, I want to get into a fight in under 2 minutes, look at reload: you can get into fights rather quickly. Variation The map consistently innovated, provided unique game-sense and mechanic opportunities. And the lootpool was straight up beautiful, the pump will always be the best gun ever: everyone can hit 200s, doesn't take long to adapt to it, yet it's super fun to use. I genuinely think Disney and Epic will kill Fortnite considering they haven't been able to make any senseful changes in the last 6 months. My hope for this CEO having any idea about what's best for the game is lost, and I was happy to be part of the 2018-2020 game experience. It genuinely was an unique, beautiful game.
This game changed the entire gaming industry. I remember playing at the end of season 1 and beginning of season 2 and when you had to be careful with friendly fire. I wish I could play that again. I haven’t enjoyed a game like that since the beginning of Fortnite.
Thank you so much for a video like this, I used to play Fortnite at the very beginning, I remember I wanted to play pubg but I had to pay for it, then this gem appeared and I have one of my best times ever, I’m a very nostalgic person and watching this kind of content gives me a warm feeling, I truly appreciate it, just thinking about all the clips compilation and all the effort you put on this video it’s amazing.
The game was so special bc of how simple things still were. There were just a few things in the shop and the map felt gigantic! It was so special. And it’s true the game was so silent, so peaceful. You were grinding the battle pass and it was so special to reach level 100. Also it was one of the first crossplay games and for me it finally made it possible to play a game with my PS4 friend. Sadly, now the game is full of weird skins that always need to have super weird sci fi looks, everything is about making money like the music pass and I don’t remember not being disappointed in a new battle pass in quiet a long time. Back in the days there was nothing in the battle pass you didn’t ultimately wanted to have. And you had so many cool tasks to unlock and do to get XP! Now the tasks are kind of weird and messy. I would love to have that old feeling again.
As someone who isn't all that good at the game, the nostalgia mixed with the heavy bot lobbies is what made it so fun for me. I didn't win a single solo match in actual chapter 1 from when I started in season 6 to the end of it, but in one month on OG I think I won 16 solo matches
Look, we all love OG Fortnite and had great memories on it. We look back on those days with grateful hearts, and amazing memories. But it should stay that way. Memories are meant to be created, and not EXCESSIVELY relived. Trying to relive those memories will not only get boring after while, but it will end up devaluing your precious memories from 2018, while also making the beloved old map boring. I think people need to understand that The past is the past, and it should stay that way. What Fortnite needs isn't to return to it's past state. It's to create something new again. That was what made the game so loveable back then, it was something new, something we'd never seen before. Adding the Simplicity of C1 would also work, which is a reason I think C3 S1 was so successful It was something new, and something simple. I think people need to stop being so obsessed with nostalgia, and focus on the path ahead. Bringing back Fortnite OG for a month was perfect and great for the community, and same with Chapter 2. But it should stop there. I have tried to excessively "relive" my old memories and at first, it was great, but after a while, it just ends up devaluing them. "The rear view mirror is for glancing at, not staring at." - Some wise man I speak from experience. You won't feel the same way you did back then. If anyone disagrees, its fine, please let me know your thoughts below. This is just my opinion
Fortnite was a big part of my life during that time. After playing cod for so many years, I gave Fortnite a try, and I miss it. Getting on with friends, laughing, and messing around.
miss the old fortnite so much bro... i swear everytime i wanna play fortnite its just so plain and boring, back then i was obsessed with playing everyday and just having fun with my friends as 11-12 year olds. the cartoony feeling sat right with us and the game was too fun, now its just... meh, the feeling OG fortnite produced was crazy, like reminisicing about it makes me sad because we will never get a feeling like that again. its sad, the game lost its touch.. i remember the lil pois like crates next to retail, the mountain with the house and basketball court when u had to land on when u first jumped out of the bus or u had to waste mats and build up... it feeling SO LONG running across the map, yet it felt fun looting and searching around for llamas, EVEN the old sounds and effects were great... it was always so quiet, hearing the birds and the random sounds were crazy man... smh, miss the old times so much, experiencing everything from season 2 and onwards were the greatest things ever, i actually had so much fun waiting for the new seasons and skins... cant even describe it anymore, you've said everything that i was thinking man. great video, rip the old fortnite we loved
Thanks dude I really appreciate that. Hoping to become a creator full time. I love making content and it seems by this comment section that others like my content as well❤️
One of the best videos I’ve ever watched, Fortnite was my childhood and will always hold a special place in my heart, I’m so happy I got to experience season 3-10 of chapter 1, best game ever
I don’t think the game currently is a bad game at all, I still have fun with it But it really does feel way more cold and corporate while early fortnite, even as popular as it was, had this almost indie vibe to it It felt like the devs were part of the community
Fr, I’m not a day 1 player like you, I started playing in November 2017. I’d always say that C1 S3 was my favourite season. There was just something about the game in the first 6 months or so that was incredible
I was around 10-11 when I first started playing Fortnite back in early 2018 (Season 3) and it was so much simpler getting home from school, no responsibilities, and being able to play such a great game that genuinely was enjoyable unlike games now (maybe that’s just nostalgia The last time I genuinely had real fun on Fortnite was during quarantine
8:14 It was a game that had a soul. I remember first playing in chapter 1 season 3. Those first games were truly special, and I will never forget about them.
It’s the same experience people had with halo and cod when the Xbox 360 was released.. that year the 2 best games ever came out , Fortnite is probably the only game that was at that level, that same new amazing feeling that has never been seen before. And they also had their own glory days. People still play halo 3 everyday
Now games are very complex, before games were simpler, which made them better, Fortnite is an example of this, now everything is complex, before it was simple but fun. 😢😢😢
The thing is with this is that you can't fully explain what was it back then, you had to experience it and if you got to experience it, that is the best feeling ever,i remember it like it was yesterday❤
I really don’t feel like there will be another game like Fortnite. To be the next biggest game in the world that’s still going strong 7 years into its life. I genuinely do feel like Fortnite was a once in a lifetime game that we won’t see another game quite like it.
It was the first game for most of us where if you died you wouldnt respawn which made everything much more intense. And the graphics made it very unique.
Harry bro I really appreciate it. This has been my passion to make videos since I was 8 years old (Now 18). Honestly positive comments like these make me strive to create content. Thank you!!!
I think the thing that made Fortnite to captivating for me was the art style. I had played decently realistic shooter games like CoD and Battlefield, but Fortnite’s cartoony look and feel made it different. The best thing was that it was free, so I didn’t even need to ask my parents for money. Because of this, and that in the early seasons, you didn’t need a beefy computer to run it, me and friends played. We would play all day, every day after school. We would lose sleep to play or even thinking value the same, and we were so dedicated that we would wake up to play when the new season was released. It was a good time, especially because of the friends I made over the game, who I don’t talk to anymore because we went out separate ways. Makes me miss those times a lot, but the memories will forever be cherished.
i started playing fortnite just after season 3 started.. for me season 4 was when fortnite went down hill. maybe because i just experienced the map and i didnt want it to go. but im glad i got to play before fortnite turned into a pile of horse poop. i stopped playing properly at season 10. and went back for OG fortnite and havent played the game since.
Simplicity is what made fortnite fortnite. I loved it back then, theres just too much stuff now, all these cars, stupid abilities. All these cooperations with marvel, dc whatever. I loved just a few guns, basic building and pure fub. Good ol' days.
Bots don't belong in battle Royales. LAST MAN STANDING games. Makes no sense. Then this game added player bots and bosses and now we have snoop dogg shooting me in the ass instead of real players. And other than the bosses you're just walking for ever until you get in a small storm circle and get mopped by 7 different guys who are also looking for real players. Game sucks
i think the eerie atmosphere and overall simplicity of OG Fortnite was half of why we enjoyed it so much and the other half was that most of us were just kids and games are just more fun when you were younger.
Even as someone who will fly missed out on the older Fortnite era I do agree to an extent honestly. I will say that for some who are fed up with the game at any point, it’s best to just STOP. Sometimes you grow out of love with games. I’ve been playing Minecraft as long as Fortnite Battle Royale has been a thing and even I stopped playing around 2022-2023, and I don’t play much anymore. There are things OG Fortnite definitely did well I’m sure, but there are also things newer chapters and seasons do well too. It’s all about Epic mixing the best of both worlds to make something good. They can do it, the developers aren’t lazy and they have talent. They may just need more time (like longer chapters, around 1.5 years is a decent amount). Not everything that is old that people prefer is nostalgia blindness, but not everything that is new is awful. Some new features can be useful is so many ways, but people are just so blind to that fact, that some end up hating on everything, which tells Epic to make different decisions that could ruin a great idea. IMO, it’s the fans and Epic Games that hurt this game the most (and maybe Disney in a few years).
@@M1st3rTee the Fortnite community can sometimes have a problem, that being reflection. Sonic or Mario (or anything really) doesn’t have that problem because you can go back to any game, and show, and experience it for how it is. A game like Sonic 1 has been replayed to the point where no one is thinking how much it was fully perfect or anything, because any false thought baked with nostalgia can be shut down by replaying the game. I didn’t play older Fortnite sure, but that doesn’t deny new Fortnite can do some good things, nowadays. Older Fortnite definitely did some things right, otherwise people would not praise it as much as they do, but you also have to consider how much of that feeling is attributed to how you were as a person. Some were kids, playing with their friends after school, and now maybe they have jobs or don’t see and hear from their friends as much. What I’m saying is being an “OG” is practically irrelevant. I might have been playing Minecraft whilst Fortnite BR was just starting, and I was playing sonic games when Fortnite STW was announced, but others have been playing Fortnite and other things much longer than me. Does that mean they know more than me? To an extent, yes. But a good Fortnite season means something a lot different before than now.
@@M1st3rTee also if the game isn’t to your enjoyment, I’m sorry to hear that, because it sucks seeing something you liked not be as fun anymore, but there are other games, others things for you to play and watch. Maybe take a break from the game (if you haven’t already). I stopped playing Minecraft consistently a while after the Nether Update (the update was great, but newer updates didn’t make much sense and made me lose interest). If you want to know some things older Fortnite may have done worse, ask someone who didn’t like Fortnite as much and is maybe bitter about the game, you’ll possibly find some somewhat accurate complaints. Fortnite for the most part, isn’t able to go back to older seasons.(because of how the game works), so aside from Rewind Royale, which still doesn’t fix the problem, players are unable to realise that you opinion now is already manipulated. I started right when Chapter 4 began (it wasn’t perfect but is was great for me). I’ll take a line from Drew Gooden to illustrate what I mean: “Nostalgia is a drug, that causes us to misconstrue our memories”. Nostalgia isn’t evil or bad (always), but it’s impact can’t be denied. I’m nostalgic for C4, and I know that. I have things I think it did well, but nostalgia plays a role (a heavy one at that). If older Fortnite seasons were to come back for each and everyone of us and our respective favourites, in their exact form, even if it wasn’t severe, we would be able to see first hand that our memories had been tricking us. We’ve romanticised a version of the game in our minds, because that’s how we felt at the time. We might not have that feeling all the time anymore; but you should be able to cherish the memories you had whilst playing the game at that point in your life (for everyone to). Disney buying Epic could either destroy the game or not cause much of an issue. But if even Sonic The Hedgehog (who has a worse track record that any Fortnite drama channel could believe), has been able to grow from the mistakes of the past, even having fans go back to older games and realise the quality they had missed, then Fortnite should have no problem making Chapter 6 good (or not idk).
@@Squorzel Sonic and Mario games have always been good though. I have as much fun playing the new games now as I was when I was a child. They never get rid of the things that allow you to have a shit ton of fun. Fortnite on the other hand seems to have some kind of anti-OG attitude where everything people love about OG Fortnite needs to be removed. You never experienced those things. It’s one thing to watch these videos and see old footage, but a completely different game once you’re actually in it. The closest thing you can try right now is installing Nova Launcher on PC and experience a pretty laggy Chapter 1 S7. Then you might understand it a tiny bit.
@@M1st3rTee but that’s my point, with Sonic and Mario, you can go back to older games. You can’t do that with Fortnite (it being live service). If we switched places and I had played in older Fortnite and you started in Chapter 4, it’s the same principle. I’m not saying older Fortnite is good or bad (I didn’t play it, looks cool though). What I am saying is because people can’t go back to older Fortnite seasons and properly experience them, we don’t really have any idea how good or bad Fortnite may have been (at least not an accurate one). I’ve heard about how unpopular Chapter 2 was around when it was released, but now it’s considered the BEST Fortnite season ever. There’s no accuracy there. With Sonic, I can go back to older games and even though one persons experience with the game is different to any persons, I can still see for myself and bear witness to how good the game may be (or not). Im not trying to say I know more about older Fortnite than others though, so if it came off that way, sorry about that. I was just talking about how impossible it is to really get a taste for how Fortnite seasons were quality wise when the only people to let us know are the ones who played it then. Which is fine, but opinions do change. If OG Fortnite (the first one) had come back as accurately as possible, old movement, everything, and it had lasted for maybe 2 months, maybe people would have liked it more or less.
I almost cried hearing the og intro music. I haven’t played in years after loosing my epic games account for not being able to send them an bank statement from the battle pass with the astronauts ( don’t remember the season name since now they have goofy names ). Used to play a lot with my cousin, the graphics, the silence, people only building 4x4 and not an Eiffel tower, the double pumps, the pickaxe switch glitch, everything was perfect, Daequan playing was a blast, I hope they release the true og version of the game
Epic is adding a chapter 1 core game mode to fortnite so hopefully they make the seasons exactly how they were and keep the ui, graphics, game sounds, etc and everything that would be awesome.
If im gonna be real. The more people see videos about people saying how good the past is, the harder it will be for people to move on. The future is now, stop holding back and just... grow up fr.
What we all loved was the moment, we grew up, the years can’t come back, and the only thing we can do is try to remember how that felt, however there’s a moment in life where you have to admit that it’s over and we just have to find a new chapter in life, that’s why I always enjoy everything as much as I can, there’s a time where we look back and say “the good old days”
I really appreciate all the support from yall, I was very nervous making this video and contemplating on posting it, love you all ❤

How cheating has ruined fortnites reputation could be a video you could make
how fortnite added too much and it became far from what it used to be.
I loved the video, you took me into a movie

@@DoxyYTagree but it was way before 2014 lol. 2012 at least but probably earlier.
Like the old call of duties
Fortnite is still fun, idk why yall think its not
The thing with fortnite was that it was honestly scary.

Reason why I will never play BR games with only one life.
And the fact that the game used to be so much more quiete made it even scarier 👀
I miss this game and yes i also remember how silent it was back then. Only the Sounds of the Storm, Guns and hitting props where loud.

Man I hate to admit but Fortnite at the beginning was a core memory for me. Watching this and reliving it all in my head still makes me insanely happy. Those were the days
nothing beat waking up on a new season back then
season 6 and season 7 were the hardest hitters for me
season 4 and 5 hit hard af for me
And 8, that was a FUN season
@@Thesilliestbilly911 8 was really fuckin fun with the cannonballs
season 7 vibes were better then any other season imo
True. It’s more complicated, and the players are insane
Resuming: Congested.
It's just crazy how seeing this beautiful time of the game gives me so many feelings. Mostly nostalgia and I just wanna go back to those days. Getting home from school turning on the PS4 and grinding the crap out of this game with your friends.
man the first 7 seasons of fn we’re a time to be alive, peak years of my life
7:34 Dota 2 was the first game to introduce a battle pass system, Fortnite was the first to implement it in a battle royal and that was what popularized it
The only reason I can't hate on Fortnite nowadays is because the impact the old game had on my life and other people's lives was massive, it's just insanely affiliated to good memories, happiness and innocence.

The freshness came from the simplicity. Once they started to add all these fancy features, that charm went away with it
I love the simple and classic Fortnite, stuff like Ch1 S1-4 and Ch2 S1-2, when the map is just basic grasslands and forests, there’s a simple loot pool, and the whole game feels really grounded but also unique. I’m not saying the really crazy and over the top Fortnite is bad, I just love those early seasons from the first 2 chapters.
It felt like back in the day, people were playing for wins rather than playing for kills, so you’d get people actively avoiding fights, and you don’t really get that anymore. And I don’t mean that people would camp, but it really felt like a free for all where people actually wanted to come out alive rather than a killing simulator.
you are so right
okay that is true, people now kinda throw themselves once they see an enemy despite the fact that they know they will die right after getting their kill
3:11 that's why the storm was scary back in the day
So true bro, last alive with the zone closing in was so scary

Honestly the fact that Fortnite has been around so long and stayed as fresh as it has is a testament to its greatness. Constant ground changing additions like creative mode have continued to push the industry. I think if Fortnite remained the same as it was it would've been dead a long time ago.
This video perfectly captures the feeling of the good old days
There would be days where i was waiting to come from school to see if there was a new update or ltm (high explosives with the guided missile was the best) while this game will never be the same it was fun while it lasted.
i don't care what epic does... Fortnite will always have a special place in my heart.
Og Fortnite br will forever be one of my favorite times in gaming. Definitely miss it.
Here's my reasoning for why OG Fortnite was amazing, and will flourish:
Simplicity
The buildings are easier to navigate in, you can NOT get killed by an annoying angle.
Diversity
The guns were diverse, yet easy to remember. It took about 5 minutes to understand the entirety of the lootpool, yet the guns were always innovative.
Quick
In comparison to what we have now a days, I want to get into a fight in under 2 minutes, look at reload: you can get into fights rather quickly.
Variation
The map consistently innovated, provided unique game-sense and mechanic opportunities.
Bro dropped casually a peak video. I felt this video more then anything else but I really hope that some thing similar to fortnite will come soon.
Thank you so much for a video like this, I used to play Fortnite at the very beginning, I remember I wanted to play pubg but I had to pay for it, then this gem appeared and I have one of my best times ever, I’m a very nostalgic person and watching this kind of content gives me a warm feeling, I truly appreciate it, just thinking about all the clips compilation and all the effort you put on this video it’s amazing.
am i the only one that teared up watching this? Farewell Og Fortnite.
The sentence he said at 7:57 is so real
As someone who isn't all that good at the game, the nostalgia mixed with the heavy bot lobbies is what made it so fun for me. I didn't win a single solo match in actual chapter 1 from when I started in season 6 to the end of it, but in one month on OG I think I won 16 solo matches
OG Fortnite would calm my brain every day after my long days it would fix my life icl
I think people need to understand that
The past is the past, and it should stay that way.
What Fortnite needs isn't to return to it's past state.
It's to create something new again.
That was what made the game so loveable back then, it was something new, something we'd never seen before. Adding the Simplicity of C1 would also work, which is a reason I think C3 S1 was so successful
It was something new, and something simple.

If you didn’t play OG Fortnite you will never ever understand how shit the game is now compared to what it was.
I’ll take a line from Drew Gooden to illustrate what I mean:
“Nostalgia is a drug, that causes us to misconstrue our memories”.
I really enjoyed this video bro, keep up the work bc this is great!
Thanks bro ❤️
i miss those times really badly, but i realized that i was a kid back then and these times are never going back.
20:10 TF2 be like " Am I a joke to you?".
It used to cost money, but went free later on, still. It’s one of the most casual friendly games out there.
The future is now, stop holding back and just... grow up fr.
Just reminding everyone about the good times
What we all loved was the moment, we grew up, the years can’t come back, and the only thing we can do is try to remember how that felt, however there’s a moment in life where you have to admit that it’s over and we just have to find a new chapter in life, that’s why I always enjoy everything as much as I can, there’s a time where we look back and say “the good old days”
