This game started to lose me when collabs were taking over. I never minded the collabs in chapter 1, early chapter 2 was also fine, but when there was a whole season dedicated to a collab, when the STORYLINE became dedicated to a collab, when the shops became nothing but collabs, it lost me. I love originality, and I love collabs, but there isn’t a balance between the two and it’s evident.
For me the worst was when they started putting scopes on shotguns like i cant be the only person that hated them and to remove the scope i had to go to a bunker and it was just really annoying
They also need to make Chapters longer, because we're already going through collab burnout, and some people are probably going through new map burnout.
eh this is pretty common with any long running live service game community. the games bound to change and there'll always be the day one players who were drawn in by what the game originally was (in fortnites case its the artstyle and the original gameplay which was much more slower and more methodical) and the newgens who came for the new content and the new identity (collabs, more mobility, higher intensity gameplay in general, and the more realistic artstyle) will prefer the newer fortnite
I seem to be a centrist in Fortnite politics😅 I support the metaverse and the UI changes, but in battle royale I prefer the gameplay of chapters 1-3 (art style, map detail, loot pool)
Storyline even got ruined, like jonsey the seven the IO years of build up just to be forgotten now it’s just random stuff and now we are stuck with hope as the new main character
This was a really good video! I really enjoyed all of the collabs that you had, it was just like Layo’s “why Fortnite will never die” video. Don’t forget to use code Lil Smurf
Interesting watch! I really like the way you structured your arguments. I would have loved to see more variety in the background footage. Seeing the same beginning of the Season 3 Trailer everytime the season got mentioned was a bit much for me.
I’m an avid racing game fan, and got really into Rocket Racing these past couple weeks. I was having a lot of fun with it, but then I hear that they’re not supporting it anymore, and now I’m just sad.
I completely agree with the author of the video, but I can't help but note how the direction of Fortnite has changed, especially after the recent final event of chapter 5. Once upon a time, chapters ended with strong plot events, as it was in the finals of the second part. in the first and second chapters, as well as in the third (although less exciting, in my opinion). However, this time we saw something similar to the mini-events from the "Royal Party" mode in Chapter 2, when players gathered in the game to watch movies or concerts. Then it was appropriate and interesting, since the event did not claim an important place in the plot. But here, at the end of the chapter, it seemed that we were just sitting down to watch a musical concert on the screen, as if this event was an "insert" and not a full-fledged conclusion. Don't get me wrong, I love musical events like the Marshmallows, Travis Scott and Ariana Grande concerts - these are exciting performances that bring unusual moments to the game. But I can safely watch concerts like the final Chapter 5 event on UA-cam or Twitch. In Fortnite, I expect interactivity, an expansion of the plot, a feeling that serious changes are taking place in the world of the game. This event looked like an unambiguous hint from Epic: "Guys, well, we'll forget about the plot and events here, and instead show you a regular recording of the concert." In addition, my favorite locations changed in season 12 of Epic: instead of completely immersing ourselves in nostalgia, we changed the design of the locations for the artists. For me, it got rid of the feeling of going back to the old days. And even worse, instead of moving forward, Fortnite is increasingly becoming a platform to attract famous artists and heroes from other games, which displaces the original elements that I loved Fortnite for. Previously, it was the unique major events, exciting storyline and frequent updates that made the game so special. When chapter 5 began, I was happy: the plot was on top, the events took place on a grand scale. But by the middle of season 4, we got an episode with Doom, a strong antagonist, shown to be a powerful opponent capable of defeating the Fantastic Four and even Galactus. And suddenly - a boring ending, when he was just shot from guns, like an ordinary bot. And so I was waiting for perhaps a new threat to appear, because of which we will return to the second chapter, as it was once well explained in the plot. However, instead we only get artists and fan service. Where is the heat of passion? Where are the global events taking place? None of this seems so important. Epic seems to be giving up more and more of the originality that I loved so much, replacing it with a simple demonstration of a fan service. More and more attention is being paid to the phrases "Wow, this is an artist!" or "Oh, this is a hero from another game!" instead of "Wow, this is seven, this is Jonesy!" or "The island is turning over!" or "The last reality is coming back!". The metaverse is now trying not only to become part of Fortnite, but also to displace Fortnite itself, becoming something separate and less original. However, I hope that this is a temporary turnaround, and that Fortnite will be able to rediscover its unique spirit, developing both the universe itself and its plot with the same depth and attention as before. Fortnite still has huge potential, and if Epic can find a balance between fan service and story, the game will be able to surprise and delight all fans again.
@LilSmurf Do us a favour and pin this comment. This is one of the best summarisations regarding fortnite and epic as a whole and the current mindset they are using to 'develop' fortnite.
I’d say Chapter 5 was good in the first season. You could tell they were trying out new things with the game, and I liked that. But after Season 1, things started going downhill every season. No one can change my mind-Chapter 4 was one of the best chapters, right behind Chapter 1.
I think the problem about the whole chapter was, that Fortnite did not seperate competetive from casual players. In my opinion the chapter could have been way better if competetive and casuals were sepreated. It worked for 4 chapters and now its not. I think if they seperate competetive from casuals the future of Fortnite would look way better with your wishes to Epic Games and mine which I just said.
I'm casual player, to the point that Fortnite isn't installed on my computer most of the time, but I remembered how much I enjoyed early days of Season 3, having fun with cars and how beautiful desert looked like. But then I came back after month or more of break and I couldn't find any car in this game, any special objects, all of it felt dry.
I really like weapon mods, but the fact that I had to wait that long to get basically any of the mod benches made enjoying the weapons the way I wanted to a lot harder even if I only wanted to make a small change to one weapon.
Congrats on making this doc! I'm in full agreement with you on a lot of the things you've discussed and even some of the people you cited in part 2, but I have to say that the biggest problem I've had this chapter was the matchmaking. Chapter 5 was my first foray into Fortnite (joined December last year) and matchmaking for me has gotten progressively worse bordering on unplayable since Chapter 5 Season 2. I either encounter bots or just people who play too well and know too much about the intricacies of the game compared to me and it makes the whole experience very uneven and incoherent to say the least. Bored with anticlimactic bots jumping up and down and then utterly frustrated dying in a flash. Nothing in between. Boss battles are the closest to that, I guess. I wonder how big of an issue this is with the player base in general, especially people who aren't active community members or aren't vocal about their thoughts, since it wasn't mentioned in your doc. I just want it to feel more competitive. A true SBMM system instead of this... because right now I feel very locked out, and I find myself looking forward to playing this game less and less.
As someone who didn't like the Mad Max season because Car = win, I didn't even know they nerfed the cars because by then I've already dropped the game for the season. So them nerfing the cars literally had zero impact as the people who didn't like it like my friends and I already left. They should have just stuck to the season as intended like you said.
I personally don’t know why people don’t really respect Chapter 5, like does anyone even realise how much dedication they put into it. This chapter gave what everyone has been asking for ages: car and gun mods, flying, other games, etc. And people only complain about the idea of it being too corporate and realistic. Also including a map with so many biomes, lots of mini events and so much more. There was so much stuff in the game, and I personally liked it, and I’m OG! Nowadays, it’s just people complaining and complaining, never happy. Too ignore all the shit put into Chapter 5 just annoys me!
I think the feedback on Season 1 of Chapter 5 really set the tone for the rest of the Chapter. 95% of the complaints about the season were directed at the Riot Shield and Medallions which were not changed fast enough, so Epic proceeded to knee-jerk nerf everything.
I used to play Fortnite here and there in Chapter 4 but in Chapter 5 season 1 I started playing all the time, personally, I loved the cars in wrecked and I really got mad when they got rid of the god mythic
Ya i was off and on from s5, and then I js like was half playing or didn't play at all ch3 and 4, but since ch2 s8 this is the first time I've played too much
I was saying this since Chapter 2 - Season 5, but I was hoping Epic Games would make more original content and then throw collabs in there after they see that the season is enjoyable. The collabs are nice and all, but there’s so many to the point where almost all originality Fortnite had is just reduced to atoms. Collabs used to be a “OH MY GODDDDD” moment, but now it’s a “OH MY GODDD- wait this was gonna happen eventually…” moment. Maybe this is just me begging for too much, but I miss Fortnite’s originality and uniqueness before corporate took the wheel and steered it in a completely different direction.
chapter 1 was good all the way through, some didnt like season X but i thought it was enjoyable, Chapter 2 was good for the first 2 seasons then fell off in the mid point but picked back up for the last 2, chapter 3 was overall fun i think except for the chrome season, chapter 4 was probably the best chapter we had overall since chapter 1, despite its lack of live events, i loved using the grav hammer and kinetic blade, season 3 was meh but it wasn't bad, season 4 was pretty fun and it started introducing some story back into the chapter that dropped it after season 1
Honestly if they wanna continue this Metaverse stuff, keep the things separated, go back to the good, go back to what made fortnite fun, make the gameplay based on the guns and skills of the players, I don't mind having a light amount of spam (like general bad spam aka tons of mythics). Just go back to what made the game good and keep adding the stuff that you wanna add just make sure it doesn't interfere with the core of the game.
Appreciate this review had my fun with chapter and met some new people thanks to this chapter. I just wanted to give my thoughts on bullet drop, while I personally did not mind it and enjoyed my time using it. I think Fortnite wanted to experiment with it because all of chapter 4 the problem mainly coming from as a zero build player was that during each chapter 4 season there was that one dominate scooped ars such as the twin mag, the mk, and two seasons of the red eye and giving it was hit scan made it very easy but also very unbalanced for other weapons to shine. This for me felt that fights were not fun or something I felt I wanted to mix up my play style if the scoped ars were strong weapons to use. If Fortnite does go back to hit scan next chapter it probably be best if weapons don’t have scopes again so all the weapons to shine. But that’s just my thoughts. Love the review man can’t wait to see what this game has in store after chapter two remix
Hi Smurf haven't watched in forever cuz of my tests I had no free time. Just wanna say congrats on 9k!!! I remember when you were celebrating 1k. I hope you know your videos will never go underappreciated all the best
feel like fortnite is focusing too much on getting as much people in the game by making it for everyone (lego, crazy creative maps...) and should focus more on a original game that it was and that was battle royale. But its understandable because more people more revenue.
no they are not focusing on people but more on collabs which is so sad I always saw collabs as a cheery on top of the fortnite game and story but now its killing the story and replacing it.
I think the shop UI is fine while still needing improvement, however the locker is awful, I almost never change cosmetics anymore because it's sl annoying to use.
16:30 Yeah, they complained about Mechs so much you can’t even play around with them in creative anymore. Like i thought they were cool, and it made sense to take them out of the base BR, but to take it out of creative was insane.
thats not true, mechs were removed from creative because they broke maps with exploits to get edit permissions or leave the bounds of the island and the effort required to fix that would have forced them to do major reworks for an item that hardly anyone used in maps at all
‘the community has gone too far but you are to blame’ … that’s not it mate, that just contradicts your previous point and ruined what was for me, a good video until that point. Nothing a company does to a GAME should be a reason for people harass and harm employees or higher-ups. People often forget that this is a business and all the changes are profit based, that’s just the rule of the game.
The only issue I have is a personal one. I synced my xbox account to my epic games account on pc and it CANNIBALIZED my xbox skins, _replacing_ them with my pc skins. Pack Leader Highwire is my favorite character, and the one skin that I felt like represented me best in game. Now she's gone, and I can never get that back. In top of that, everything else I had bought previously has been reduced to wasted cash and hard feelings. Fortnite is cool, but it will never have a place on my hard drive. Not anymore.
And I have one more thing to say that I understand that epic games are working hard behind the scenes to make changes that we all want, but I just hope that chapter's 6th can make some adjustments to the lockers, like I'm not complaining, really, I'm not, but it's hard for me to navigate, especially when my typing capabilities are really slow on controller, and I hope chapter 6 can making modifications to the locker because it's kind of hard for me to navigate something.
I haven’t played Fortnite since I think Chapter 2 Season 3 until OG Season last year. This pulled me in again and I feel the same way about chapter 5. I loved it and now I’m in again
This Chapter was so much fun, given I gave myself the task of playing every day, rather than dropping some seasons after week one or two. But I can't deny the issues that came up. Mostly, this weird disconnect between developers. Why are we adding mods if we aren't going to develop on them? Why are we over buffing/nerfing some things and refusing to buff/nerf others? It feels like Chapter 5 Season 1 and 2 weren't even in the same chapter as Season 3 and 4, they were just so different. I hope Chapter 6 will feel cohesive, like a complete meal, rather than a dessert, starter and main course mashed into one.
The ending of ch5 was anticlimactic it was just a concert Doom didn't return and the Titan didn't rise the black hole screen was scrapped and I don't think the event was 6 phases because we had Ice Spice play 1 song and then Ice Spice played what like 3 or 4 songs however before the event the beacon at Restored Reels did blast at the screen causing the countdown to be removed and it caused the screen to project the Newyork Timesquare where we saw the event countdown on a billboard and we also did see Newyork Timesquare rift on the island with the rift butterfly rifting to Newyork Timesquare when the event started so I think that was a phase and we saw when Snoop Dog put in a disc into his turntable which I think was ch2 Remix we saw graffiti and a rift in the sky so those 2 were most likely phases of the event it just turned into a mini event because the black hole was scrapped and I think Marshmallow was scrapped and I also think the Titan hand was scrapped
Fortnite's loot pool has 2 big issues for once every new weapon always inevitably feels like a cheap knock of of a ch1 pump/scar/tac/smg and secondly there are only 2 metas: "whatever gun is most similar to the pump at the time" meta and "the fastest smg" meta
A few things personally I think: 1. Avatar fit perfectly in Season 2 and I never understood why everyone said it didn’t. Avatar’s entire concept is mythology, sure not GREEK mythology but still mythology. It makes a lot more sense than how the Star Wars, TMNT, or Pirates collabs tied in. The only other one that made sense was Metallica since the wasteland/Mad Max vibe fits metal so well 2. I feel like the only person that didn’t hate the UI at all, sure not having full locker loadouts was definitely a downgrade (luckily fixed with Remix) but I actually liked having per category presets and the UI wasn’t that bad to navigate and looked fine. 3. Regarding mods, I wouldn’t ditch them entirely. Hitscan and Mods CAN co-exist, stuff like “increase magazine capacity” can still make sense even without having bullet drop. They do however need to have it always available and not locked until the last third of the game 4. I personally think the “metaverse” (even though the term itself is really stupid) was the best thing to happen to the game. Literally like 75% of people I know on the game always said “Fortnite is a shitty garbage game” simply because of the reputation’s of BRs and ONLY joined simply cause Festival, Racing, and LEGO and now that they are in, most actually said they enjoy BR too. It greatly expanded the target audience which means less chance the game as a whole will eventually die as they bring in more new players. I hate that they gave up on Racing though cause it’s genuinely fun to drive when not playing like Elite ranked with maps that spam orange hazards every second, even without being a “Mario Kart” esque mode, it’s fun playing Casual Racing on the easier maps. Now if only they could fix UEFN to not be flooded with so many trash Only Up maps… 5. Yeah I think the biggest problem is essentially they are listening to the heaviest vocal minority. The highest of high end unreal players are not the majority of players. Most people like the crazy items that make for super varied gameplay season to season, sure some might be a bit TOO much OP but I would rather have a super fun chaotic match than the most basic AR/Shotgun meta. The Korra, Zeus, Hades, Iron Man, etc. mythics were some of the most fun I had. Yes they should’ve nerfed the items or removed them IN RANKED but why also destroy what the other 75% of players who are casuals liked.
yeah the metaverse stuff isn't a bad thing, just as long as they can make it coexist with the main game, rather than eating up the game's budget. festival is a lot of fun, especially being made by the same people who made FUSER, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc. LEGO Fortnite is fun in multiplayer, and really only in multiplayer. The building is fun though the memory limit is awful, thanks switch hardware... They already dropped Rocket Racing lmao im just dreading the next live event, since that's where the disney BS is gonna occur... if they keep going with the metaverse stuff chapter 7 is toast, especially when it needs to compete with GTA6
Smurf I've been really enjoying these videos since I found your channel. Just wanted to say I appreciate the hard work and I'm sure others do too! Excited for the next season!
honestly, if they just reverted the movement, bullet drop, physics, and lobby/locker UI, i would love the game but with all these changes i just cant enjoy the game. As well as good live events, less collabs, and actual original storyline. Collabs used to feel special but now they just seem unimportant as we're getting new collab emotes and skins every other day.
Oh yeah and when my dad and I were playing in the last season of ch. 5, he was the only one to even mention snipers and how there were none of them this season. It seems like such a minor part of the game that actually would’ve made rounds so much different!
I had no fun the whole chapter and I defend every season I play (I liked ch4 s3) the only time I actually liked it was towards the end when they removed the jet pack and the game was balanced
Nice vid. TBH I don’t know why so many people dislike the mods. I think the mod benches (specifically when they were changed to be random bunkers not POIs) gave each game a lot more flow as you’d win the early game, get decent loot and then search for a bunker to upgrade it all and prepare for end game. Same can be said for the forecast, bounty system and the island spawn. It makes every game feel different. Also, the medallions were a great addition imo. It added a risk/reward system that felt really balanced for the most part, obviously some medallions more than others, but I don’t remember any single medallion totally dominating every game behind repair (at least in zb) Also I’m sorry, but having guns with bullet drop is so much better than hitscan but with bloom. Having guns with sights made gameplay a lot smoother and fast paced since you weren’t stopping to shoot just to avoid bloom, which imo takes a lot more skill and reward good aim and timing. At the end of the day I think people just don’t like change. And that’s fair enough. But as greedy as Epic can be, I think it’s pretty cool that this game gets constant changes and feels fresh all the time. Gameplay never gets stale because it’s always changing, and just because you don’t like a current update or season or chapter, doesn’t mean the game has gone to shit. They’re trying to keep so many people happy and all of those people have different preferences so it’s just never going to happen.
I think ch5 s1 was really good but after that it sucked because you either had to land at one of the 3-4 rly hot mythic poi’s or see no one and get no good loot for the first 15 min of the game. The smaller vaults around the map in s1 could have solved this but then they got rid of them
I agree with all these takes especially the one POJO made about the poi’s, they all look the same! Chapter 5 was good but they need to take a step back a bit. But this was an amazing video again Smurf!
Summing all seasons up: Season 1: promissing, good collabs, but wasted potential Season 2: didint seem to offer much, but was pretty good, together with nice map changes, just a bit boring Season 3: "just adapt bro" became the most used phrase by people on twitter, cant say much other then "chaotic" or ill die Season 4: promised a lot, and it did deliver, but not quite what it promised, jetpacks were a pain in the ass all the way to useless And fortnitemares was goated (also stinky item shops)
I hated this chapter because I just couldn’t stand the graphics and map. I just wasn’t able to really enjoy myself when playing this because I just couldn’t feel any connection to any location. I didn’t really ever have a true FAVORITE location. None of them were that memorabel
This was the chapter that made me completely abandon Fortinite. I was the only one of my friends that was keeping up with the game even if I played once a month but I lost all interest after it became a playable ad.
You know what I really want to see? Just once (then if it works maybe epic would do it again) make just ONE season where they focus on simply making a good map and loot pool, no bosses, no mythics, no big gimmicks. Season OG was the most fun I had on this game in such a long time and I feel like a lot of that is attributed to the lack of bosses and simplicity. Just one time epic, try it, you know how popular OG was.
17:34 this right here. This. I fucking loved the captain America shield at the start of S4 & then they nerfed it into the ground after a week. Now I hate that season.
Honestly i loved the story flow this season. It felt all smooth and went into the next part pretty well save for doom just kinda losing but thats on brand for him. Im also happy the story at least for this year stepped away from the zero point
Hitscan IS Fortnite that’s it’s identity, hitscan and the cartoony graphics is what set Fortnite apart from other games it just works, why they had to ruin a whole chapter by adding bullet drop still makes absolutely no sense to me 😂
I think bullet drop can stay for close ranged weapons like Pistols, SMGs and Shotguns. So a smg deals maybe more damage than an AR but it has bullet drop and the damage gets less and less every 5m. For the others just make them hitscan exept sniper. Also make DMR hitscan too but with high recoil. For Attachments I'd say make them a recourses and you can put them in your gun in your inventory or like chapter 2 a upgrade station to upgrade and put attachments in at any time. Also give 1 attachment that is only for a category like a attachment that increases recoil but turns a smg into a hitscan or turn an AR into a bullet drop but deals more damage. For the map, I'd say make it have realistic lights but with cartoony shapes and cartoony colors.
Kinda wish they mainly focus on Battle Royale and the Live Events. I mean the other stuff is cool but it’s pretty obvious most if not every player started playing the game for Battle Royale. It constantly has more current players than LEGO FN, Rocket Racing, and Festival and the three have died down after their release. The Mini Live Events are cool but I’d love to have more events than just the Chapter End Event.
The other modes have definitely taken away from br The reason we dont get live events anymore is due to the metaverse. They took the live event team and put then onto the metaverse team The 3 gamemodes were outright a failure they all have less players then stw Which mind you stw costs money and has been ignored for years. They should stick to br and just drop the other gamemodes
I liked the gunplay and graphics the first few days, because they felt new. But after a few weeks I got bored of them. It's true that bullet drop and realistic graphics don't suit Fortnite at all. It's weirder that they took this route when they keep making cell shaded skins, collabs with comic characters and mythics straight up taken from fantasy realms. Their cartoonish style and their commitment to the season theme made Fortnite different from other BR, stripping them from it makes its uniqueness go away. Epic, there are already BRs that have realistic graphics and bullet drops. Their intended audience is already there, you don't have to make your audience leave you.
This game started to lose me when collabs were taking over. I never minded the collabs in chapter 1, early chapter 2 was also fine, but when there was a whole season dedicated to a collab, when the STORYLINE became dedicated to a collab, when the shops became nothing but collabs, it lost me.
This event looked like an unambiguous hint from Epic: "Guys, well, we'll forget about the plot and events here, and instead show you a regular recording of the concert."
In addition, my favorite locations changed in season 12 of Epic: instead of completely immersing ourselves in nostalgia, we changed the design of the locations for the artists.

This is one of the best summarisations regarding fortnite and epic as a whole and the current mindset they are using to 'develop' fortnite.
Bro ur so underated asffff!!! Like ur editing is fire bro. How are you not viral yet!!! Here from then start ig?
Honestly, I’d call chapter 5 the chapter of missed potential
I’d say Chapter 5 was good in the first season. You could tell they were trying out new things with the game, and I liked that. But after Season 1, things started going downhill every season. No one can change my mind-Chapter 4 was one of the best chapters, right behind Chapter 1.
I loved s1 but the rest of the chapter sucked
I had a lot more fun in season 1 than I can admit the simplicity of season 1 made it so fun
Yeah, I loved s1
Honored to be in this absolute banger of a vid
I agree on the graphic one we don't need a realistic game like cod and the movement feels really clunky
This might be my favourite video of yours ever, now I've finished it, genuinely good job.
great video LilSmurf. Each UA-camr had a good point! Enjoyed the editing on this video too!
Even though the Wrecked season was a chaotic hellfest, it was pretty fun ngl lol
Too ignore all the shit put into Chapter 5 just annoys me!
banger vid 🗿🗿
It gave some memorable pois such as the Raft, Fencing Fields, Classy Courts, Grim Gate, and more
I think the feedback on Season 1 of Chapter 5 really set the tone for the rest of the Chapter. 95% of the complaints about the season were directed at the Riot Shield and Medallions which were not changed fast enough, so Epic proceeded to knee-jerk nerf everything.
The story too
Dude they don't even care anymore about the storyline.
Clock iiiiit, that’s what I’m saying, they dropped the storyline since chap 3 and only gives us little nibbles here and there
I used to play Fortnite here and there in Chapter 4 but in Chapter 5 season 1 I started playing all the time, personally, I loved the cars in wrecked and I really got mad when they got rid of the god mythic
'The metaverse hasn't messed with BR'
Hours after upload:
Chapter 2 Season 2 remix: 🧍
Season 3 was the worst because of the weaponized cars
@@amjadali-zl8eo agree with you but you cant deny theyre trying to apeal broader audience then they use to.
@@cloakzy3701 ture i never deny that but that collab thing seen to do more damage if you ask me
I think the shop UI is fine while still needing improvement, however the locker is awful, I almost never change cosmetics anymore because it's sl annoying to use.
Finally someone talking about the art style bro😊
Bro assembled the Fortnite Commentary Avengers! 😂❤ loved the video and creators featured smurf, would love to see more similar to this!
one thing about the graphics,i feel like they could have kept it like Chapter 4's that was the perfect mix of cartoony but realistic in a good way
you have a great taste for songs
i love super mario galaxy
The only issue I have is a personal one. I synced my xbox account to my epic games account on pc and it CANNIBALIZED my xbox skins, _replacing_ them with my pc skins.
Pack Leader Highwire is my favorite character, and the one skin that I felt like represented me best in game. Now she's gone, and I can never get that back. In top of that, everything else I had bought previously has been reduced to wasted cash and hard feelings.
Fortnite is cool, but it will never have a place on my hard drive. Not anymore.
Reality Augments were an infinitly better customization system that weapon attachment.
Season one chapter five > every other season in the chapyer
And I have one more thing to say that I understand that epic games are working hard behind the scenes to make changes that we all want, but I just hope that chapter's 6th can make some adjustments to the lockers, like I'm not complaining, really, I'm not, but it's hard for me to navigate, especially when my typing capabilities are really slow on controller, and I hope chapter 6 can making modifications to the locker because it's kind of hard for me to navigate something.
You have the right to complain epic refuses to listen and has slowly been ruining this game since chapter 2
Fortnite's loot pool has 2 big issues
for once every new weapon always inevitably feels like a cheap knock of of a ch1 pump/scar/tac/smg
and secondly there are only 2 metas: "whatever gun is most similar to the pump at the time" meta and "the fastest smg" meta
Literally
One thing that stayed consistent throughout the whole chapter was the map, definitely 10/10
A few things personally I think:
1. Avatar fit perfectly in Season 2 and I never understood why everyone said it didn’t. Avatar’s entire concept is mythology, sure not GREEK mythology but still mythology. It makes a lot more sense than how the Star Wars, TMNT, or Pirates collabs tied in. The only other one that made sense was Metallica since the wasteland/Mad Max vibe fits metal so well
They do however need to have it always available and not locked until the last third of the game
4. Now if only they could fix UEFN to not be flooded with so many trash Only Up maps…
5. Yes they should’ve nerfed the items or removed them IN RANKED but why also destroy what the other 75% of players who are casuals liked.
true (idk im like 20% done with reading this)
yeah the metaverse stuff isn't a bad thing, just as long as they can make it coexist with the main game, rather than eating up the game's budget.
festival is a lot of fun, especially being made by the same people who made FUSER, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc.
LEGO Fortnite is fun in multiplayer, and really only in multiplayer. The building is fun though the memory limit is awful, thanks switch hardware...
They already dropped Rocket Racing lmao
im just dreading the next live event, since that's where the disney BS is gonna occur... if they keep going with the metaverse stuff chapter 7 is toast, especially when it needs to compete with GTA6
7:03 Donald mustard said one of the reasons he left epic is because they moved some of the team from making live events to the metaverse
I’ll always have love for Fortnite, but I just hate how Epic Games are trying to compare themselves to COD, it’s ridiculous
i miss reality augments so much
Smurf I've been really enjoying these videos since I found your channel.
Bullet drop is why I stsrted playing. Realism factor.
I loved the old art style and the og season was one of the best it looked good and fun like what fn should be imo
Oh yeah and when my dad and I were playing in the last season of ch. 5, he was the only one to even mention snipers and how there were none of them this season. It seems like such a minor part of the game that actually would’ve made rounds so much different!
W vid
Chapter 5 season 1 was straight up gaz💥💥💥
It added a risk/reward system that felt really balanced for the most part, obviously some medallions more than others, but I don’t remember any single medallion totally dominating every game behind repair (at least in zb)
Also I’m sorry, but having guns with bullet drop is so much better than hitscan but with bloom.
Oh that’s where I draw the line for the community. Don’t dox or threaten employees. That’s not cool.
I think ch5 s1 was really good but after that it sucked because you either had to land at one of the 3-4 rly hot mythic poi’s or see no one and get no good loot for the first 15 min of the game. The smaller vaults around the map in s1 could have solved this but then they got rid of them
The man
All I want is old movement back and the old cartoon style game
Or ch4 graphics and also the rarities NEEDS to be back it brings every skin like a personality due to the rarity
@jamescash0398 ye the old ui looked so much cleaner
I really hope Fortnite sees this video or at least videos like this. This isn't quite the Fortnite I once knew, ya know.
I agree with all these takes especially the one POJO made about the poi’s, they all look the same! Chapter 5 was good but they need to take a step back a bit. But this was an amazing video again Smurf!
Honestly I’m just tired of seasons just being collab based please BE ORIGINAL
Summing all seasons up:
Season 1: promissing, good collabs, but wasted potential
Season 2: didint seem to offer much, but was pretty good, together with nice map changes, just a bit boring
Season 3: "just adapt bro" became the most used phrase by people on twitter, cant say much other then "chaotic" or ill die
Season 4: promised a lot, and it did deliver, but not quite what it promised, jetpacks were a pain in the ass all the way to useless
And fortnitemares was goated (also stinky item shops)
9:49 yah it has chapter 2 remix has been effected by festival
🐐
17:34 this right here. This. I fucking loved the captain America shield at the start of S4 & then they nerfed it into the ground after a week. Now I hate that season.
9:48 That statement didn't age quite so well... *cof* *cof* Chapter 2 Remix.
Honestly i loved the story flow this season. It felt all smooth and went into the next part pretty well save for doom just kinda losing but thats on brand for him. Im also happy the story at least for this year stepped away from the zero point
Man I miss it already
The bullet drop was the biggest turnoff for me with this chapter, I really hope chapter 6 just drops it and mods
The other modes have definitely taken away from br
The reason we dont get live events anymore is due to the metaverse.
They took the live event team and put then onto the metaverse team
The 3 gamemodes were outright a failure they all have less players then stw
Which mind you stw costs money and has been ignored for years.
They should stick to br and just drop the other gamemodes
Completely agree, great points :)
Just want to say this video is so well made. Keep up the great work
Just want to say this video is so well made. Keep up the great work
Just want to say this video is so well made. Keep up the great work
I liked the gunplay and graphics the first few days, because they felt new.
17:56 was literally me s3 and 4 takes the fun out of it
Great video, honestly. Really good takes on everything and I also feel like most of the community agree with you.
Bro you can not hit me with “family” from SMB Galaxy rn 😭
Best: fortnitemares
Worst: everything else
Imo I liked the marvel season
